I'm trying to find a hack for PIE in WM 6.5 to see Picture Mail in the old format instead of the newer one. I have a cab that allows me to do it in WM6.1. But I was wondering if anyone figured out how to do in WM6.5. This is just one of my gripes with 6.5 is that I can't see a picture mail in IE without going through the slideshow. If anyone has a solution please let me know. I wish I had a screenshot to show the difference between the old version vs the new version. I'll post the cab to see if it can be altered to work with WM6.5
I've been having the same problem. I updated to NFSfan's 6.5 v12, but I am now downgrading IE to 6.1 instead of 6.5 and then using the hack cab you provided. Heres the link for the downgrade if you want to give it a shot: LOOK AT 2ND POST.
If I get time to get back later, I will post my results

I am confused as to why the WM 6.1 ROMs people have been providing on this site are so different in look to the WM 6.1 screenshots and features shown above.
Where is the new look in our ROMs?
Where is threaded SMS?
Where are the other features?
There is no big improvements in WM6.1 Threaded SMS is disabled by cookers because it is rather annoying and has many setbacks. Lets wait for WM7
Regards,
Carty..
Can anyone list what the actual differences are in 6.1?

The "new" look is a today screen on a NON-TOUCH SCREEN windows mobile device.
New things:
Faster file access.
Threaded SMS.
New Task Manager
And just a bunch of fixes here and there.

A big different to 6.0 is that you can do a Domain Enrollment. This is very interesting for big Companys who want to manage there Devices by Servercontrol. Because of that Microsoft developed a product with the name: System Center Mobile Device Manager (SCMDM) wich is released since 1st April. All devices in a company are managed by this environment.
I have a T-mobile Dash (HTC 620). Is it possible to utilize the threaded SMS from WM 6.1 on WM 6.0? Is it as simple as copying certain files or will it require registry hacks and so forth?
IMSMS should work
Here you go
Thanks, got it installed. However, when I receive a txt it still goes back to the factory txt program, not IMSMS... Did I miss something? I checked the preferences, but didn't see any option to activate it or anything.
If i remember correctly, you have to start the program from your start menu.
You can also use Birdsoft ExtremeText, apart from the annnoying Account selection window, splash screen and atrocious name - it's not a bad application. Heh.
Just upgrade to 6.1 already and be done with it!
I would just upgrade to the new 6.1 I have listed below (there is the link below) and its really cool and awesome...
Sliding Panels Theme
Hi

I think were fighting the same battle. Funny how wm 6.1 came from a motorola q8.
thanks i'll try them out and tell u if it was successful
nope not working just a background and nothing else
Im also looking for this. If anyone has an idea for an working one please leat me know.
sliding panels theme-on other than kavana?
is it possible to get the theme installed on a 1.33 version? im not sure if this is his own theme and hasnt been released to the public.
i tried the kavana version and it just seems that the 1.33 works smoother (...please dont bash me, its just personal preference) and uses less battery life, so i flashed back but i really miss the theme and a few of the other options. so my next question, am i just better off cooking my own rom or is it too complicated for "slightly above average" people like me?
can anyone point me in the right direction please?
thanks in advance
The "CHome" homescreen plugin is developed by Microsoft and is part of the WM 6.1 OS. Anyway... there's ways of getting it to work on other ROMs or devices. Here's a cab I have that's supposed to make that happen. Try installing it on your device, it should work.
thanks ill give it a try
fast response much appreciated!
tried a version of chome that i found but it didnt work either...i installed the chome_2 first and got a blank background, installed a version of chome and got the same thing but only showed a partial of the blank background, like the right and top are chopped off with a different shade of green than the background, (sorry best i can describe it) i uninstalled both and reinstalled chome first then chome_2, still the same results. i guess im stuck with the brightpoint 1.33 kavana version for now. thanks for the help
sorry for the post, the kavana version changed since the last time i used it. im cool with it now, no need for this post anymore, mods please bump. thanks
Work it with WM 6.0? Thanks.

Think this has already been answered and it's not available without 6.1.
Please feel free to correct me if wrong?
Hi all please be gentle as I'm new. And yes this may be the wrong place for this question.
I have seen videos and reviews about the new 6.5 but none of them show what the weather tab will look like as I love the look of the home screen with the big flip clock and tabs on the 6.1 but they look rather plain in just text style I have seen on the 6.5reviews on youtube.
Is it possible to have the advantages of 6.5 but with the old look of 6.1? Are there any photos anywhere? I have tried to do some searches here but have not found what I'm looking for.
Just to add, I don't have one yet but looking into getting one and have read the issues with 6.1 but love the look of the 6.1 (origional Touch HD) So it looks to me that 6.5 is better but lost the look.
Please help
Thanks.

I am running WM6.5 and it is the same as 6.1 (at least from a TF3D perspective). All the tabs are the same as with 6.1. There are different versions of Manila (ie TF3D) viz 2.0, 2.1 and 2.5 which run on both 6.1 and 6.5 (although I have not seen Manila 2.5 on a 6.1 ROM yet).
Perhaps in the youtube video they were showing the Titanium interface, but you have the option of either running Titanium or the more familiar TF3D.
So yes, if you go to a 6.5 ROM you can have all of the benefits of a 6.5 ROM with the familiarity of a 6.1 ROM. Try it, you'll love it.
Thanks very much for the quick reply and clarifying this for me.
Now I just have to find a unlocked new handset for under £400.

You do not need to worry about getting an unlocked one, there are tools here to unlock the phone so that you can flash to any ROM. Read the stickies on the ROM development forum.
Guys....Is there any cab for getting this taskbar manager shown below?
thanks in advance
I've been wondering the same thing. I know some cooked roms won't have it depending on the version of 6.5 that is used, but I also want to know if someone was able to make this into a cab.
Also, if it's not cabbed does anyone know of any other notification managers for windows mobile besides the HTC notification enhancement?
Sorry for not answering your question shatou, but maybe we'll get a better response if more people are interested in this.
no cab. this is built into the wm 6.5.1 and 6.5.3 roms. link the wm 6.5 lock screen and titanium today screen it cant be used without the required rom.
