Guys, can anybody help me out?
I've installed Itje's Touch-It 6.5 rom, but it doesn't come with Windows Live Messenger. So I've manually installed Messenger and the Windows Live panel, and now the Messenger icon doesn't appear in the panel.
I thought this might be down to the version of Messenger so tried a few, but still no change. I'm now guessing this may be down to the location of the .exe file on the phone... I think it may be different than on the stock rom.
Anybody know how to get Messenger in the Windows Live panel again?

It's probably a different version of Windows Live....there is someone on XDA forums named gananorf (I spelled his name incorrectly) and all you need to do is post a request in his thread and he will make you a panel for that version.
He might ask you to first give him the version you downloaded or he might as you something along that line.

No longer required now. Itje's Touch-IT 12 has it working fine.

just got shadow installed and its the first time I have messenger on the hermes. thing is it won't allow me to add a contact. if I type a name clearly not an email it spit the error out but do it right and press ok nothing. what's going on?
by the way, there's a bug in windows live messanger in WM6 Black 4.0 (aka Shadow). did you update it with jj's patch for wlm?
last i checked this was xda-devs not 4winmobile, maybe go ask where the rom is supported?
I haven't updated it with a patch no I didn't realise there was one. is 4.0 worth me using or is there better arround? im very new to this.
also sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. I posted the question on the 3100 and its a huge site to browse round for a first time user not quite sure what he's doing yet. it seemed the right place at the time

I read on the internet that Windows Live Messenger has been released, a non beta version.

it really sucks i have tons of tons of people on my msg
people from forums i dont go to anymore
people who have nicks which are diff from the forum nicks i remember them by piles of people
dont just want to delete them all because what they need to get hold of me but nor do i want them filling up my contact list

i dont believe there ever were an install for the old msg messenger
i believe it was a part of the rom and intergrated
at least ms like with the new one never had a download for it on their site
so if there is an install for it then i believe that somebody made it himself

Yeah all the dialers have tiny little pics for the contacts. Is there anyone that would be willing to make them bigger? Or is there a good photo contact program anyone can recomend?

i also tried once photocontacts pro and although it has many usefull features i gave up using it... because it made my device very slow when it came to ringing... even with the clear rom it takes a lot to ring... with PC Pro the thing got worse... is the same with you or is somthing with my device (M3100)....

This is photocontacts pro 3.0, meanwhile theres V 5.0 available...
I used photocontacts pro before and I was very satisfied with it. Of course you have to install the program itself AND all of your ringtones in the main memory, then it will not slow down your device. You can find it here:

And I think, its possible to upgrade the MS Version, so it will be cheaper

As already mentioned its a very old version. And it is not freeware, its a testversion sponsored by MS, running for 90 days. So I recommend to everbody who wants to test photocontacts pro to use the newest one from www.pocketx.net.

i used activesync to install it, tried version 3ish and got not valid, tried version 4ish and the demo worked fine, tried version 5ish and it wouldnt even start up, but im presuming thats because of my fone having veeery old firmware

I like the standard TouchFlo on my, more or less, still standard HD but would simply like a plain black background on all the Tabs/Pages or whatever (The home/weather/ music etc ).
Can anyone give me a simple cab or something equally straighforward to do this?
Also, I have a different contacts program running (funcontacts) It is called fine when I call it from contacts via phone etc but NOT from the People tab, All People button. How do I get my HD to do this please.
Any help much appreciated!

The cab below should give you the same background image across all TouchFLO tabs. Install it and soft-reset. As far as I know you cannot re-map the "All People" softkey from the People tab...

I should have looked earlier at what rom you are running. You have quite an older version of TouchFLO in your rom. The cab I posted was intended for a much newer one. That's why it didn't work as I described it would. You could look into Maxycy's software to customize your TouchFLO. Other than that, I don't know what else still supports the older version.

Shouldn't it be bang up to date? I had to wait for delivery because they were waiting for 'new' phones!

No, HTC / the vendor is. Said you had a 1.19.xxxx rom when they have up to 1.59.xxxx released now. You should look into updating it. Are you interested in custom roms? If not, you should still look into updating to the latest official rom
in fact even the most recent stock roms (provided by operator) are often outdated compared to the roms you can find here (@xda)
they are mostly based:
newer builds of wm6.1 or wm6.5beta
some parts from other (newer) devices
optimzed and customized by the authors
i suggest you to read the hd section to see what u can do with your phone

Flashing is easy if you are well informed beforehand. Just do the research before you flash. Read the Wiki and my guide on flashing roms. Links are in my signature.
Hello all,
I saw that you can download for free (using the new application "marketplace", in WM 6.5) the new version of Windows Live. They claim it's 10.8, it results as 10.7.0057 after installation.
It is quite a big improvement: there's finally a nice home screen, and it is possible to browse people's profiles in Live as well as browse and upload photos.

I installed the new windows live from the marketplace and it broke the stuff on my HD.
Now when I try to start the messenger/live, I get the error message
"WLMMessenger is not a valid Pocket PC application".
sigh.

I had that too. Soft reset should resolve it. It seems its caused by using a new kind of installation method.

I don't know anything about new features/functions or bugfixes etc., but the layout is definitely changed.
It looks more like the Windows Live Messenger on the computer. New icons, new notification-images and the window-background have been slightly redesigned.
Nice improvements, but not necessary for using messenger on your mobile. In the conversation-window almost nothing has changed.
With this new version... when in chat is very difficult to write with stylus... I need press with more strong on the keyboard

No problems over here. Works the same as usual.
I have the same errormessage with the marketplace version on Touch Pro 2 (Windows Mobile 6.5). Cab-versions works.
