When i try to install software to my Sandisk 16GB Ultra micro SDHC-card i get an error which has something to do with "tmarshaller.exe".
When i install the software to the pda itself there are no problems.
Software involved: FlitsNav_PPC_1.5 build 2194.ARMV4.CAB
Peet
Try to install flitsnav on your device in stead of on the storagecard
Flitsnav works fine here!
Do you have issues with other apps? If not, just install it on the main memory. Some programs require it.

Hi -
I purchased the 8GB MicroSDHC card from Verizon a week ago. It worked fine on my AT&T Tilt for a few days and than it lost all information! Fortunately, I was able to restore from backup, and it seems to be OK again. Here's the strange part: even though the original files and directories are gone, the card still counts them in used memory. I.e., the used memory is about 200 MB more than it should be, the amount of space I was using before the card crashed. This applies whether I check the memory on the device, connected by USB, or with the Card Adapter that came with the card.
Any ideas what might be causing this and how to recover the used memory short of reformatting the card?
Thanks!
If you could tell us what you did for it to crash it would help
You probably tried to partition it or something...?
Looks like you will have to format the whole card.
Maybe there is a simple way to do this but here is how i would do, if it helps :
- install WM5Storage on your PDA main memory
- start wm5storage with the option memory card and connect your PDA to your PC
Activsync then wont be sync'ing and your memory card will be seen from your PC as an USB-key. Open it on your PC and check to make sure it is your memory card that you see (and not your PDA main memory).
Then use whatever format tool to format your "USB key" with FAT like format, for example you can use HPtool (be carefull to format the key and not another drive !!!).
After this do not forget to turn off wm5storage, otherwise you will not be able to "see" the memory card on PDA side...
Hope it helps, let us know...
by the way maybe you could try this :
http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk
I've used it sometimes when i had started to format a hard drive instead of an usb key by mistake.
Windows was asking for formating everytime i wanted to open the hard drive folder. However, using this Testdisk tool, i was able to mount the hard drive and recover everything including my photos and music and stuff... Maybe you want to try this awesome tool, plus it is free and OpenSource.
Use wm5storage tool to use your PDA as an usb-key, then use Testdisk on this usb-drive, it might be able to see, list and recover all the "lost" files and heal the whole partition at same time.
Thanks for the suggestions - I'll post again when I have the chance to try them -
No luck
Had a similar problem with my Kaiser (HTC Rom). Yesterday I did something (don't know if it was memmaid - my guess, because otherwise I just installed some cabs I had previously installed in my Wizard with no problem) and my SanDisk 6 GB MicroSD was completely 'erased".
I just noticed after the Kaiser had created new folders over it (Application Data, Cookies, History and Temporary Intenet Folders). My assumption is that something destroyed my partition table (that's why I suspect memmaid, it may have cleaned something wrong) and now I have another partition over the old one.
I tried file recovery and found 1 GB good of files, but there were 5 Gigs on the card... I really wanted to find "program files" so I didn't have to re-install lots of stuff, but no luck.
Tried Testdisk as suggested above, but it never detects any partition, not even the current one. I guess I will have to reformat it and re-do all stuff.
Well, I may be saying lots of dumb stuff, but that's my guess.
Thanks if there is any possible help in this...
Ah, and when I insert the card via a card reader in my notebook and right click properties, it says 717MB free, which means my old files are there waiting for me (new folders have only 736KB of data)... What to do?
Guys need advise do you have to do any patch to be able to use 4-8GB mini SDHC card on your PDA?
I have a Asus P535. Have asked their support site and the reply I got is the max supported is only 4GB.
I believe I've read in more than one place that the Kaiser may support up to 32 Gig, which is the MicroSD maximum. But I may be wrong...
Fact is this has never happened with my Wizard and its 1 Gig MiniSD. Now I'm gonna increase backup and cloning so I don't have to reinstall everything...
But I'll check if there is a patch anyway. Thanks.
I am able to use Sandisk microSDHC 8GB can on Asus P535.
But need a micro adapter to miniSD

Click to collapse
Click properties and then click theTools tab. Run Error-checking with both options checked. When you check your card, you will hopefully see a new directory with recovered files. You can then delete them and regain your disk space. This is what worked for me -
Thanks. I tried that at the time to no avail. I did have to reformat, and then reinstall everything... Now I'm using Sprite Backup, so everything including Storage Card is backed up in case this thing happens again.

It could be WINXP patch
I have the Sandisk 8G , it came with a small USB reader and all was working fine. However my ASUS W5 laptop also has a built-in SD slot so I installed a patch issued by Microsoft to make it HCSD compatible, and it read and write it OK but then I suddenly got the same problem that you've described here.
The disk goes blank but the files still occupy the space, even attempting to reformat the card in the built-in slot will ignore that space,i.e it shows only 5G card.
But reformatting using the small USB card reader was fine and from now on I only use the cardreader to read and write and everything is OK. In my view the XP patch was causing that problem
Hi everybody,
was just trying to flash my Hermes.
I was following this guide, and trying to install the supplied drivers for vista_x32.
For some strange reason, vista claims, that this driver is not a proper vista driver, and cancels the install process.
Does anybody know what might be the reason for this? Maybe I need a newer driver?
Is there any other way around? And no, I won't install xp just for updating my Hermes.
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

Why don't flash from an SD card (link in signature)? After tweaking drivers with no success to run on Vista x64, I just always recomment it.
thx for your reply, but that won't work, since I installed loads of progs on the sd-card, so it won't let me delete the cards content. And I don't have any external card reader.
So I guess, I will need to solve this driver issue somehow.
Maybe somebody can tell me if it worked on their Vista Machine using Mr Vanx guide.
it used to work although it s way easier for me to move to the next comp in the room (which is running xp) and flash the rom from it
bother some friends to let you use his comp since the whole thing wont take longer than 20 mins
So what about the programs on SD card?
Move them off to your computer first, move ROM image to SD card, flash, move programs back.
tried doing that. after emtying my sd-card, and moving pays rom over to the card.
The pays rom was named RUU_signed.nbh, so I renamed it to HERMIMG.nbh
i rebooted to the bootloader, as described in the tutorial. Nothing happened though.
No clue why it did not work.
Quite annoying.
regards, t.
Did you format the card to FAT32?
I have an xda ii with a wm6.1 rom and i am using vista on my laptop.
I noticed my main hard drive on my mobile (if thats what you call it) was getting full. I have installed most of my programs on the RAM and STORAGE card though...
So I thought maybe I should reinstall the ROM and install them again but making sure ALL programs are installed on the storage card which is 2GB.
First of all thank you to everyone that helps... I appreciate the amount of posts you get one here.
The problem I am having is that I am running out of space to install a few programs even though I have a 2GB card and installing the programs on my card. Not the main device.
I tried restarting from scratch and went into boot mode - shows serial - then connected to the cradle and it shows USB but windows device manager (i have vista) does not show it as connected. If i reset and load wm6.1 it connects str8 away. Couldn't work out why but decided to go back to uninstalling the programs i had installed.
So I then uninstalled all programs so there is space, then reinstalled all onto storage card. The storage card is 2GB.
Even though I'm installin them on my storage card everytime i install a program (not many) a little bit of the main hard drive is used. Now it seems the hard drive is full. So basically im not not able to install a program i need cos its full.
How can I use my 2GB storage card or work around this I have been installing to it but it still is taking up space on my main device harddrive.
Is there a way to uninstall programs that came with the rom?
In short, I have space on my card but seems not on my main server. Can I work around this?>
Whats going on?

Hi guys,
I have a LG KS20 and a 8 gig microSD card because the website gave wrong information about sdhc compatibility.
I basically want sdhc compatibility, that's all.
I've tried about everything so far...
I install the sdhc patch and 777.cab,
it never worked in any way however i tried everything.
So i tought installing a new rom with the sdhc patch already installed might solve my problem but now i can't connect to LGDMP software which is needed.
I have a 8GB micro sd card on my KS20, and he work fine.
I use this rom: "WM6.1 KisS20.4 Rom (5.2.20755) UC WWE", and i don't have any problem.
Try to upgrade your rom.
I've tried to upgrade my rom but i can't connect to LGDMP in any way,
i've literally tried every single way to do it and my phone still doesn't get recognized when i connect it to my pc...
Try on another pc, there are some known issues with lgmdp, especially (but not only) with amd based architectures.
Got it working
sometimes when I use the power button to turn the light off, it hangs after i try to put it on again...
pretty annoying, but hey, the sdhc patch works
Just want to know if the Desire HD has problems accessing the microSd card (especially if it's a class 6) when connected to a PC in 'Hard Drive' mode
Let me explain...
Firstly - I have a rooted phone with Android Revolution HD (v5.2.3)
I had the original 8Gb Class 2 card that came with the phone, which I swapped with a Kingston 8Gb class 4... had no problems with it.
I could connect up the phone to my PC (Windows XP + SP3) as 'Disk Drive' & copy files back & forth between them with no problems - no matter how large they are or what type
The 8Gb got a 'little full' recently (I filled it with APK Backups,Music ,ebooks & 'comics' etc), so brought a Samsung 16Gb Class 6 from Amazon
I connected up to phone as 'Disk Drive' & copied over the contents of the phone DIRECTLY to the 16Gb (which was in a Card reader) with no problems.. then put the 16Gb into the phone (after unmounting etc safely) & all apps etc work fine.
NOW - If I connect the phone up as 'Disk Drive' to the PC, although I can copy OFF the 16Gb to the PC with no problems,
If I try copying file ONTO the 16Gb (regardless of size/type)... I MAY be lucky enough getting 2-5 files across before XP 'loses' the drive & asks 'Please insert a disk into drive...'
Now I'm pretty sure it's not XP the problem - I can put the 16Gb into a card reader & files copy over with no problems (I've plugged the card reader into motherboard USB, front panel USB and even through a USB Hub)... it only seems to happen if I access the card through the Phone.
Is this because -
it's a Class 6 card...
A problem with the Phone design...
Due to ARHD Rom (if so would updating to the latest version fix this ??),
or is there a way to prevent XP from losing connection ??Many thanks in advance
I think its a bug in that rom. It does not have anything to do with sd card, if you can, update it or just try any other rom and i am sure it will work.

I may just try that in the future - just don't want to install a new ROM (It'll have to be latest ARHD anyway, as I have a full HTC Navigation licence) & then have to reinstall everything (yet again)
However I can currently get around this little 'problem' by using 'File expert' app & using FTP over my WiFi, as that seems to work OK,... a lot easier than having to remove the SD card each time
But thanks for the suggestion anyway
