Hi guys,
I have a LG KS20 and a 8 gig microSD card because the website gave wrong information about sdhc compatibility.
I basically want sdhc compatibility, that's all.
I've tried about everything so far...
I install the sdhc patch and 777.cab,
it never worked in any way however i tried everything.
So i tought installing a new rom with the sdhc patch already installed might solve my problem but now i can't connect to LGDMP software which is needed.
I have a 8GB micro sd card on my KS20, and he work fine.
I use this rom: "WM6.1 KisS20.4 Rom (5.2.20755) UC WWE", and i don't have any problem.
Try to upgrade your rom.
I've tried to upgrade my rom but i can't connect to LGDMP in any way,
i've literally tried every single way to do it and my phone still doesn't get recognized when i connect it to my pc...
Try on another pc, there are some known issues with lgmdp, especially (but not only) with amd based architectures.
Got it working
sometimes when I use the power button to turn the light off, it hangs after i try to put it on again...
pretty annoying, but hey, the sdhc patch works

hello everyone
i'm using a 4gb sandisk mini sdhc with my trinity, and the rom is "v3.00.07.09 PDAVIET". there are lots of problem on this combination, the biggest one is that i cannot find anything after i open a folder!!!(for example, clike storage card->progame files-> you find nothing there!!! but after one soft reset, the system runs well in about 10-20 minutes, then same problem again.)
is this a bug of the rom? or does the problem comes from this sdhc card? anybody know how to fix it? thanks
Hi there... I've got the same problem with all the wm6 "flavours" I've tested so far.
I've narrowed the problem down (in my case) to the way the device was being powered down... If I just let it by itself so that it powers down own its own when I power it back on everything is OK with the memory stick. All the folders and their contents are there.
In the other hand, if I press the power button so that the device powers down (what I usually do to save battery switching off the screen etc and keeping the phone functions on) whenever I power it back on all the memory card contents are either gone (can't see them on the file manager) or otherwise corrupt, showing as garbled characters sometimes or just showing empty folders.
As for now I'm waiting for Mun's next ROM to give wm6 another try... but if the problem persist I'll have to stick to WM5 (sadly missing the HTC Home Plugging which is wm6 only).
Best,
M Addario
what language do u use in your wm6?
i just find that, a english rom without any other language plug-in, the rom will be stable with this 4gb sdhc. hope this can help u 2. cheers.

Hello, i use a Transcend 4GB SDHC (class 2) card and have no problems at all with ax3l wm6 rom 2.0.8
under wm5 the card didnot work correctly
My Transcend 4GB SDHC works fine too.
i'm just testing 4gb Transcend classe4 SDHC an no problem
I'm using Sandisk MiniSDHC 4 Gb and tested many WM5-6 roms.
Every rom worked properly with the card.
some software make system unstable.
hi everyone, i just find where the problem comes. some software, like ce-star(this software enable your system display asian language) can make rom unstable. the problem will go as long as you uninstall that software!

ok, I've the solution, strange, but thrue.
I buyed yesterday a beautyfull, new minisd "4Gb", mounted it, and I discovered that if I run mtty with the 4Gb minisd into device, all blocks are bad
the rom wasn't updated into device if I flash one...
without minisd mtty give me all blocks ok, and flashing other rom, it will be uploaded into device...
ok, this is my cas, good also if someone have same problem, but my question now is, why with last 2Gb minisd this problem didn't present???
I flashed hundreds of rom with minisd iside and all ok...
my my new good, beautifull minisd 4Gb I spent a lot of time today to understand why all block were bad, this is the answer...
bye!
but the question still rests... why whit 2Gb sd all is ok, and with the 4Gb one not?!?!?!?
could this be part of the problem with ppl not being able to flash new radios to their device?
*sorry double post*
4Gb SD card MUST be a SDHC card, and these run on FAT32.... i think that might cause all problems...

It didn't surprise me. To read files from the SD card, you need a hardware "driver" to communicate to the hardware and to understand the layout of the card, both physically - the SD/SDHC format; and logically, the file system on the card.
Remember, there is a distinction between the OS and the firmware - what an OS can do DOESN'T necessary mean that what a firmware can do, vice versa. Think it as the BIOS of your computer against your installed OS.
In this case, your WM6 can read SDHC because there's a SDHC driver in the OS. When you are doing an flash, all the vital functions that are needed are provided by SPL. If the SPL don't have the necessary "driver" - to read the SDHC, it will naturally bails out of the operations.
It's by design and is more or less expected. Period. Unless HTC is going to "update" their SPL to support SDHC as well, but who knows.

ok, good answer!!
I know now...
I suffered the problem of bad blocks you mention with a defective 4GB mini SD (TopRam) and reported it in Pof's thread (unlock) two months ago. I was about throwing one SPV M700 out of the window. Hopefully, I removed the card at the last minute. The result was the same as you describe: no way to flash a new ROM. Partial flash seemed to work but then I realized the previous version was still there. Wen trying to flash the OS section in the rom, the Trini faded off.
I have had recently had another problem trying to update Radio Rom with no success (no mini SD and no SIM this time). I had Olipro's Spl v1.3. I installed Olipr's Spl v1.2 back (with SSPL) and could upgrade the Radio Rom.

I can confirm this.
My touchpad did not response correct so i decide to go back to the offical HTC ROM. The flashprocess finished at 100% with no error. After a reboot i can see that he radio was not updated.
After i go back to Hard-Spl 1.20 the radio rom i can flash the radio and the trinity accept it.
Okay first off im gana start off saying sorry im a complete newb and jsut got my first WM phone the other day i got the Verizon VX6900 and i wana upgrade to WM 6.5. Ive read over cody bear's FAQ for NFSFAN's rom several times and although im kinda scared to screw it up hopefully i wont brick my fone. my first question is i know you suppose to upgrade you radio first but especially since mine is 1.60.30 no where near 3.42.50. So can someone point me to a how to do it and do i have to get a verizon one because i saw a file to upgrade for Bell's radio and im not sure if thats the same.
Also can everyone put my fears to rest that im gana destroy my fone when i reflash it. It dosnt seem that hard im just kinda nervous.
Sorry again for being newb and making a thread there is just so much information and its hard to figure it all out without someone guiding you in the right direction
First you need to unlock your phone using the cokeman unlocker.
From there, if you have the SD card that came with your phone (the 512MB one). YOu can download a radio upgrade that changes nothing but the radio on your phone. This is a good idea as verizon can be tricky.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=389964&postcount=8
That file has the radio flash in it.
So to install it, you first make sure your phone is unlocked. Then copy the file from inside that zip to the SD CARD (note: the sd card must be formatted FAT32). Then enter bootloader mode by pressing holding down the power and camera buttons while pressing the reset button with the stylus. Do not have a USB cable plugged in. WHen the boot loader loads up it should be a tricolor screen that says COkeman unlocker or bootloader ver 2.41 or something like that. It will say serial at the bottom and after a few seconds ask you if you want to install the rom. If it asks you to confirm do what it says to confirm. IT shoudl flash then restart. When it restarts check the red text at the bottom and see if it says 3.42.50 next to r. If so you properly flashed your radio.
From there you can install ANY upgaded rom you like.
okay thanks i dont have the 512mb sd card i only have a 2gb sd card will that work?
As long as it is a regular microSD, not microSDHC. It should say so on the card. Mine 8GB card says microSDHC on the card itself. More than likely the card is standard SD (as I think SDHC doesn't start until 4GB).
So the requirements for flashing from the card are:
I think you need to have the device unlocked
microSD Card (NOT microSDHC)
Card has to be formatted FAT32
The file must be named VOGUIMG.nbh
No USB cables plugged in.
ok so im getting a little nervous i unlocked it and then flashed the radio update and it installed and says update complete update success but its not restarting do i have to restart it. did i just brick my phone?
Hard reset it yourself.
well i managed to get it to work and installed NFSFANs 6.5 rom and it runs amazing. i installed the vzw mms cab but i still cant get my MMS to work

Sorry, I'm another noob when it comes to flashing roms as well. Once you flash from the microsd, will the new rom be compatible with a microsdhc after its upgraded? Or can I only use Microsd from here on out??
Thanks for the help.
No problem. The only time you NEED a standard microsd card is when you are flashing a file to the device. To be exact, when you are upgrading the radio as all of the ones I have seen load from the microSD card, otherwise all of the custom roms can be upgraded over USB. The reason you need a standard microSD card to flash from the SD Card is that microSDHC requires a specific driver to be loaded and at the bootloader point that driver has not been loaded. This means at the boot loader point, the port can only funciton as a microSD port. Once the OS has loaded, the driver has been loaded as well, therefore it can read both times.
Hey everyone... I cant seem to start android. I run Haret and it does the whole text on screen thing, but it ends up with this:
[ 000.000000] Something used micropklt_lcd_ctrl. This function should no longer be used.
Now the 000.000000 within the brackets just increases. thats all it does. it continues scrolling while that number increases over and over and over very fast. (i dont know if it actually starts at 000.000000 but it increases so quickly i am just using the zeros as placeholders for the actual numbers.
Any help?

I get the same error. Please let me know if you get a fix.
Try reformatting and a fresh install
I have tried that already. I formatted the card completely and tried fresh. Same error. The weird thing is back in december i was able to load the 12/24 build on my phone while running NRG's rom.
I am now running Josh's Perfect 1.7 rom. Could the rom have anything to do with it?
hey im no expert, but the same thing happened to me. I realized that the start up file was not in the root of the SD card. make sure u have the STARTUP.TXT file in the root, the build i was using came with a folder designated startup configuration, and i found the rhodium file in there and copied it to the root.
Hope this helps
Thank you, but i tried that also. and the same problem still occured. I dont know what it is that i am doing wrong. :-\
Maybe this will help
I have 2 Micro SD cards and I can get Haret/Android to boot on my 2GB card but it will not boot on my 8GB card. The 8GB card has all my standard folders and files for my TP2 but the 2GB card was a fresh format with only Haret/Android on it. I loaded up the same files and folders to the root of each of the cards but only the 2GB card will fully boot. For me, this works. I just put in the 2GB card when I want to run Android.
Same thing for me. I used two different cards, the 2G SanDisk worked and 8G Kingston didn't. I bought an 8G SanDisk and now I have two "good enough to boot Android" cards.
My 8G Kingston was nothing but trouble anyway. I bought the 2G SanDisk because I couldn't flash a ROM from the Kingston (which is in my wife's phone now ).
I suggest buying a new card
Thanks, i will try another card. However i am still using the same card i used before when it loaded.
With me, Haret will just randomly lock on boot. Usually, resetting the TP2 then trying a reboot will work.
It's odd. It seems to work sometimes, then not at all.
(BTW, I'm booting off a 16GB SanDisk card)
I still get the error also. I formatted the sd card and I still get the error also. 000.000000] Something used micropklt_lcd_ctrl. This function should no longer be used.
I tried an old build and it works but I can't get the old build to work. Any ideas. This is a Tmobile Touch Pro. I updated the windows ROM to the latest offical build. I also tried it on a custom build with the same error. Any ideas?
when i run the haret program, its says that it can't open the script file. what i am doing wrong?
Newest XANDROID (XDAndroid 2.0.1 (rel 1.5).cab) clean install fixed it for me.
Well, I only had the Problem on my RAPH300. RHOS was working fine anyways.
I have a similar problem, haret runs and the normal linux startup stuff scrolls along until it does a fsck on the sd card. It stops after complaining about not finding rootfs and drops to a bash shell.
I've tried it on two different sd cards with the same result. I've formatted and reinstalled to the same effect. I've tried this with the latest and the next-to-latest xandroid cabs.
Is there something I'm missing after installing the xandroid cab? Perhaps I can pass a command-line parameter to the startup to not run a filesystem check?
Could you plz Post your STARTUP.txt? im just curious and wana try something out.
Damnit... Its still happeneing.. On the newest build (today's build)
I cant seem to get it to work...
I still have the problem also. I tested it with 3/1/2010 build. I formatted the sd card downloaded 3/1 build installed the cab. Soft reboot and ran Haret.exe.
Omega, What ROM are you running? Im on Josh's Perfect 1.7. Im starting to think MAYBE the rom has something to do with it?? (i have absolutely no evidence to back this up, however when i tried an old build while running NRG's rom, it worked, but now, it doesnt.)
I'm on clean official WM 6.5 rom.I recently run eclair on my TP2 and decided to reset back to WinMo.When I tried to boot back to Android,it took me forever to load.Anybody can help?
I got problem with 2gb Kingston microSd, but I tried to load Haret from Sandisk 1gk and Sandisk 8gb and it works fine
I have 8gb SDHC microSD which i've used before with my touch dual with no problems.
I installed artemis sdhc.cab but nothing happened...

I have the same problem. I bought myself an 8gb SDHC card, not knowing that my device wouldnt recognize it.
Has anyone, yet, found a way to run sdhc on the HTC Wizard? I saw a lot of comments that this isnt a hardware problem, but software, and still none of them saying an exact way to do it, or if its impossible. ...
I`m using the MSD WM6.5 Rom
;
someone said that one of the ways to enable sdhc on ur device is to install a rom that supports it - is there one for the wiza?

i've found the problem.
It is "hardware" thing, probably sdhc are bigger by ~ 0,5 mm and you must try couple of times to put card the right way.
By the way, you also need Artemis sdhc driver (cab file).
