I found that I can't use my HTC P3600i USB cable with the Touch Pro 2. Can you use use Touch Pro's USB cable for the Touch Pro 2?
I've been able to use a standard miniusb cable. Using one from my TyTNII at the moment at work.

hi , i have a touch pro 2
is there any diffrent between the ExtUSB 11 Pin USB connector to a regular mini usb , they both can charge my device but looks slightly diffrent on one edge..
ExtUSB 11 Pin USB looks like this : http://www.podgizmo.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=29
and a regular mini usb looks like this : http://i.expansys.com/i/b/b154871.jpg
can i use both ? would it be dangerous to my device?
yes, in general, you can use both.
yes its a normal mini usb port with an xtra 7 contacts on the underside for "video out"/ect so u can use a normal 4pin usb cable or a 2pin charge only cable.
A mini USB is 5 pins (not 4 as a standard USB) so there are 6 more in HTC's implementation - please see sample pictures attached.
Can you buy these cables anywhere? Or is the only option to cannibalize an existing headset? Would be nice to get my hands on a couple of fully wired ones as I suspect the headset one omits the USB wires.
ok quick question. i know the evo can output in hd via the micro hdmi cable, but researching it appears its limited to just a few forms of media (vids, pics, ect.)
my question for anyone who has a evo is: is there an option to output via the usb like the incredible? i have the cable already from my at&t fuse which suported tv out though usb.
i know this way would not be high def but at least i can see everything thats on my cell phone creen which would be handy in some situations.
if this is not available by defult is it possible the phone suports it nativly (as it is so similar to the incredible) and just a matter of installing an app/program from the incredible to the evo? (sorry if its a silly question but coming from windows mobile and the fuse it was just that easy installing the fm radio app)
thanks in advance!

your cable won't work as the evo is micro usb. Not sure if the incredible cable would work though.
There is an app for winmo called mymobiler that allowed you to do what you are asking.
I'm gonna google to see if there is anything android wise that will do the same thing.
......hold please......

There's no way that headphone adapter will work with your EVO. The Touch Pro, Touch Pro 2, Diamonds, Fuzes, and anything in between do not have MiniUSB ports on the bottom. They are MiniUSB compatible, but they are very very proprietary. Look on the bottom of your Fuze or look at the adapter and you'll see something that is totally screwed up. The reason sound/video work coming out of that port is because it's HTC's ExtUSB port. It has (I think) 9 extra pins for sound/video. Soooo... you could try the Incredible's video cable, but you're SOL when it comes to the adapter for your Fuze.
Hope that clears it up a little.

nope dosent. you see the fuze my have a proprietary port on the bottom of the device but you CAN plug in a mini usb plug (male) into it you can NOT plug your htc headphones (male plug) into a normal usb input (female port.)
i know i plug standard mini usb adapters in all the time for chrarging my fuze off of my laptop when no car charger or wall outlet is available.
i also know the tv out cable i have now is an off brand genaric usb to rca and it works just fine noextra pins in the mini usb jack.
i also know i have the mini usb to micro usb adapter for it.
When I connect my HTC One M8 to my laptop with the usb cable thats usually in the charger, my laptop says that it could run faster with a 3.0 cable at super speed.
How do I get such one? All the cables I've seen are of a different port type with like 2 things at the end of the cable.
Not possible. HTC M8 is USB 2.0 compliant and does not have a USB 3.0 port. What is happening is your computer is detecting a USB 2.0 connection on its own USB 3.0 port and just informing u that it "could" go faster if u are using a USB 3.0 compliant device connected to computer but choosing to use USB 2.0 cable. But since HTC one is only 2.0 it won't be able to do it.

I'm looking for a keyboard case that I can use with my lg g pad f 8.0. Problem is I tried a case I have laying around that uses the micro USB port and the tablet did not recognize it even though my phone does (lg g flex) so I know the keyboard works. I plugged my desktops keyboard into the full USB port and that worked. So do I need to get some sort of female micro USB to male USB to connect the keyboard, or some other converter to use the micro USB, or am I just going to have to get a blue tooth keyboard case and deal with that?
Thanks in advance!
Since this tablet has a USB port, USB OTG (VIA the micro USB Port) does not work. You need a bluetooth keyboard or One with a standard USB cord.
Hello, I've just purchased HTC 10 from T-mobile in Poland. I installed HTC Sync Manager, but every time I connect the device to usb 3.0 port, my Windows 10 file explorer hangs and I can not use the device (nor can I do it through Sync Manager.) I tried downloading only usb drivers and selecting the option to fix corrupt files, but it didn't help either. Weird thing is, that there is no problem when using usb 2 port. Any ideas on how to fix it?
PS I've never had any problems with using the usb 3.0 port with my LG G3
I had this issue when using None Intel USB 3.0 ports at the front of my PC. Do you have any intel USB 3.0 or USB 3.0 at the back of the PC you could try and see if it works?
According to what I I have read, if you are wanting to activate USB 3 mode in the HTC 10, what they don't tell you is that it is actually USB 3.1, and you must have USB 3.1 ports on your PC to connect to, otherwise it will only connect at USB 2 performance even if you plug it into USB 3 on your PC. You can't enable the USB 3 mode on the HTC 10 unless it senses being connected to a USB 3.1 port. I speculate that is why the cable HTC ships with the HTC 10 is actually a USB 2 cable with a USB C (3.1) connector on it. I was rather disappointed to learn this. I have USB 3 on my PC, but not USB 3.1, so I can't use the USB 3 mode on my HTC 10. My prior Galaxy S5 had a micro USB 3 connector and (before it eventually failed to work) I was able to transfer files an appreciable amount faster via USB 3 between it and my PC.

Exactly as you said, I tried disconnecting usb 3.0 ports at the front (I have zalman z9 u3) and using the ones directly from mobo and it worked. Any idea why is that?

My best guess is front USB ports don't have enough power to push data to the htc 10
Or the front USB ports none Intel are bugged when using this device.
