Help! ATI D3D failing to install; Hologram dog-slow! - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Help somebody! I had the ATI D3D drivers on, but I wanted to see if I could get the new Neo drivers and chainfire's gfx program to speed up a few of my games. Instead they slowed them down. I tried to reinstall ATI D3D drives but it just says unsuccessful! The Hologram program used to run at about 25fps average, now it is at about 0.11fps average! I have tried copying the driver files to the Windows folder but nothing. Please help!

Also, whenver I try to copy over d3dm.dll, d3dm_ati.dll, default_d3dm.dll and htc_d3dm.dll to the Windows folder, it says i do not have the right permissions or something. I tried to rename the current files in the Windows folder but it doesn't allow it.

Nobody have any idea how to fix this? I'm confused as to why Hologram would be running at 0.1 fps. Has anybody ever tried running hologram without the ATI drivers on?

well.. the hologram do run that slow (0.1 fps) without ATI driver.

theres a .cab youre supposed to use to install the diamond ati driver. the files you cant overwrite must be cooked into the ROM if you cant overwrite them with total commander.

That is how I am trying to install the drivers, by the ati driver cab, which fails at the end. I can post a screenshot of what occurs at the end, if anybody knows how to override it. Any idea how i attach an image?

How install .NET 3.5 on the HD?

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but a forum search revealed nothing...
How do I install .NET 3.5 on my Touch HD?
I have installed Advanced Congif , and it tells me i need to install .NET in order for it to work.
I downloaded the .net redistributable file from the MS website (filename is NETCFSetupv35.msi), but when I try to run it on my HD as I would with a .cab file, it tells me there's no associated program to run it.
I guess it has to be installed some other way (through ActiveSync maybe?), but I don't know.
Any helpful soul out there care to put me out of my misery?
Cheers in advance
Pete
Yes it has to be done through Activesync.
run it on your pc, and it will install on your device (or next time you connect if you're not connected when you run it)
It says on the microsoft download page...:
This package uses ActiveSync 4.0 to update the device. Before running NETCFSetupv35.msi, connect your device to your PC. If your device is not connected, ActiveSync will store the CAB file and will not install the package until you connect. If you are not using ActiveSync, run the CAB files on the device that correspond to the device–specific CAB files found in the install folder.

I did not use ActiveSync to install it. I can't remember where I found it, but it has some kind of "Microsofts digital signature", so I think it's the right one...

Thanks!
Thanks guys,
sorted, using the .cab (couldn't work out how to do it with Activesync).
Can't install :-(
Nooo! I have a problem...
I had some trouble with .NET CF 3.5, and then I wanted to reinstall it, but when I uninstalled it, and then tried to install it again, it didn't work.
It doesn't work through ActiveSync AND the cab. Do anyone know whats wrong here, or do I need to start a new thread?
Is your ActiveSyns up to date? And did you download the file from the mircosoftsite? I reïnstalled the file yesterday..

My ActiveSync is okay, and the cab is from the microsoft site...
EDIT:I think something is wrong with my phone, but I don't want to do a Hard reset.
Installed no problem if you use your PC to get the CAB just pop in onto the memory card, bung it in your phone and using file explorer locate file and install onto your device. Easeeee
Even easier would be to use PIE and visit this site/thread and follow the link to download directly onto phone then do above in File Explorer

WIFI UH OH (driver is not loaded)

I was updating my freinds dash, he had official rom on it, i went to rose rom v1.7a and also kavana final and some others and then i went back to latest t-mobile official rom 1.16 something, and all of them now say "drivers is not loaded" when you go to look at the wifi status, I loaded the WM2005 SDIO wifi drivers cab and also got a fresh copy of wifiinit.exe in the windows folder and then put the shortcut to it in the startup folder....i now have it running the rose v1.7a, i am lost, i'm on the phone now with a clueless pda expert at t-mobile.
still no solution to this problem, my friend might have to reflash back to original and do warranty exchange...i don't know what went wrong...he needs a new phone anyways...or maybe get the updated dash
wifiinit.lnk must be in the windows startup folder, or the drivers wont load this has been covered and a forum search would have shown you that

The drivers are included in every ROM I have ever flashed, loading them comes from the .lnk file. So unless you are getting an error that the drivers do not exist or have failed they are their. It is possible your .lnk file is pointing to the wrong location

why would you move the exe? How did you make a shortcut if you moved the exe? The G1 sux (sorry to those that think otherwise but it does). You only get a refurb if you dont ask for a new replacement. I always get new, after all I bought a new device not a refurb didnt I?
Anyway, it sounds like you created a bad shortcut for wifi and thats your issue

Strange, the problem was due to a defective battery! Seems that when I try to switch on WIFI and SD, the battery level goes down in a way that the OS does not load the drivers. Charged the battery to 100%, and rebooted, everything works normally.
if you have a drivers problem, should try with this...i had the same in my dash...."drivers not loaded"...i put this files on the phone and wifi works again.
Please help
I just got my dash. I upgraded it to the kavanna but then i wanted to give the vanilla version a try since i needed a cleaner version it had a picture of the tmobile shadow but i thought it would be ok since the folder tittle said excalibur. It gave me and error at 3 % saying that the iimage was the incorrect size. Then it started up with kavanna but there was no wifi option. Then i downgraded to wm6 standard but my wifi wont start. When i check the settings it tells me that the driver is not loaded. Ive been looking around in this forum for 2 days. All i see is people saying that this topic has been covered already. I tried the wininit.ink and exe thing and no success. I hard reseted and nothing. I tried different roms and the official tmobile but nothing seems to work. Is there a way to start from scratch???i just want to stick with the official tmobile rom. Please help meee.
Im running vista ultimate
the official tmobile rom latest version

i have win7 rtm 64-bit, and rom upgrades work. (also worked in the beta and rc1.)
by device manager, you mean windows mobile device center, yes?
it has an single upgrade via windows update, maybe that will solve the problem.
apart from these, you can also install the rom file (after extacting it) by copying it to internal storage with the name diamimg.nbh.
yes I mean windows mobile device center, I will try your Suggestion, but I really want to Know what is my problem , Hard SPL is done with no problem but rom upgrade could not be done
Internal storage method is faster, easier and safer.. why not thinking of that?
hy from what i now after flashing on w7 you have too install other driver for the phone when it is in bootloader then the ones that update installs. if the driver date is something with 2007 you have to take the driver from the mtty threat and install them in the Force driver signiture diseable (something like that) mode of the w7. when it boots hit f8 and from that list you will see what i meant. afterwords i recommend the internal storage flashing method(more simple and faster, in case of electicity stop less problems). hope this helps
p.s. after some interesting erorrs i found that a usb mouse when i was in signiture desabled mode of the w7 gave me troble. all went well after removing the mouse.... (microsoft mouse)...h..h.hh.

[Q] Does anyone have a good method for turning an install shield file into a .cab?

Does anyone have a good reliable means of turning a 32-bit Windows setup.exe based installer system into a .cab that is usable with WinMo? I do know I'm gonna have to either write in either .XML and include the subfiles in the cab or find a converter. I have a work program that would valuable on the TP2 (diagnostic code translator), but it was written only for PC machines.
I'm trying to cut the cord as much as possible since I don't have immediate access to my work laptop.

Be careful with latest Catalyst. I have Mobility Radeon HD 4570 and latest grafic driver has some kind of bug. On W8RP and even on W7, there are missing and blinking textures. I recommand older Catalyst and grafic driver
i used 11-12_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl
+ cap 3 and working ok

Has anyone tried it with ATi Radeon HD 5650? My computer is a HP Pavilion dv7-4090es with dual graphics, HD4200 and HD5650 series. I can not install the drivers, and I am currently unable to use the chart of 1Gb.
Those video cards are new enough that nothing special should be needed. Try loading the video drivers from HP's site if the ones on AMD.com don't work for some reason. Win8 can load Win7 drivers just fine if there aren't any Win8 drivers listed.

I've tried to install AMD Catalist drivers, but other users think that we need an HP specific driver.
If I use these drives, the computer "falls" continuosly. I can´t use youtube, Adobe flash, Skype, etc...
They are very unstable, and the last update is from 12/2010
