From the looks of screenshots and Youtube vids and stuff, I realize that the Diamond and Touch Pro's "hardware buttons" (call, end, etc.) and control pad are actually sensors.
So that means we can edit them if we have enough programming skills, right?
I was wondering if we can find a way to make the control pad recognize diagonal input. For example, we can edit it so that if one touches the upper-right portion of the circle, then it would make the Diamond/Touch Pro do an upper-right movement.
It would be the ideal tweak for emulators, and it would eliminate the need for a bluetooth joystick.
I don't have a Diamond or a Touch Pro so I can't test anything that's put out unfortunately... (but I will get a Touch Pro on Nov 13th when it comes out for Alltel ).
What do you guys think? Can we do it?
Yeah, that would be great. There are few threads here about it, but, so far, I'm afraid no one have done an app for this except Capacitivefingerlock...

Thanks for the links. I'll bring it up in the capacitative touchpad and see if anyone likes the idea .
TouchLockPro is a general purpose locking program, which also works on the Touch HD.
See TouchLockPro thread for more details.
Version 2.0
I uploaded version 2.0, which fixes some (small) issues and added some features, like unlocking when sliding the keyboard out (if available). See Version 2.0
[APP][Updated 11-01-2009] TouchLockPro version 2.1
I just uploaded TouchLockPro version 2.1. Hope this version is again more perfect.
TouchLockPro is indeed great. However, on the HD, I find its use limited, as there is no good unlocking mechanism in place. I keep it installed for the BattClock, but I simply can't get comfortable with having to pull out the stylus to unlock, or wave the phone in front of a light source. (The HD light sensor doesn't seem very reliable.)
Heck I admit it, I often surf with Opera in bed, in the dark - the stylus is the only unlocking option, and it annoys me.
If TouchLockPro could get a touch gesture unlock, like PocketShield or ThrottleLock, I'd be happy. There doesn't even have to be a UI - as long as it's fast and reliable.
ThrottleLock appears to late (I can interact with the screen before the ThrottleLock asks for the gesture), otherwise it would be mighty fine.
PocketShield is much better in this respect. I just can't get it to work comfortably with answering the phone. I've hung up on so many calls now, unintentionally, that my wife told be to FIX IT.

Indeed my next highest priority is implementing a gesture to unlock using the GSENSOR, which was already on the TODO list. You could consider to use LockTouchPanelOnly=1, so the hardware keys are not locked and couple a command to a hardware key: "TouchLockAction.exe" unlock. Of course there is a chance that the hardware buttons are pressed in that case, when it is in you pocket. Other people using TouchLockPro in combination with Phone Canvas. They use TouchLockPro for general locking and unlock the phone automatically by TouchLockPro when there is an incoming call: commandCallIncoming = "TouchLockAction.exe unlock"
TouchLockPro 2.2.1 with GSENSOR support for unlocking
I just uploaded TouchLockPro 2.2.1 with GSENSOR support for unlocking.
TouchLockPro version 2.3
TouchLockPro version 2.3 is available.
Hi,
This seems to be a great app. But I have a serious problem.
Right after installation I get the messages
“ a problem has occurred with touchlockpro.exe”
And then after a soft reset the messages
“ Could not create TouchPanel Hook.“ Comes up and the application fails to start.
.
Do you have any idea what the problem might be?
HTC Touch HD

Radio version : 1.09.25.14

Hi Henk,
which version did you install? the latest version 2.7.3?
I did not get this problem report from other users, and there are a lot of Touch HD users. You can try to set DoubleTouchPanelLock = 0, because some people have problems with this setting.
The "Could not create TouchPanel hook" message means that some other program is running which applies the hook before TouchLockPro can. Which Today screen do you have, TF3D?
You can also enable debug logging LogDebug=1 and post the debug log file \TouchLockPro.log.txt as zipped attachment. Maybe that gives me a clue
Hi,
Wow, quick response. I appreciate it!
Where do I set the “DoubleTouchPanelLock = 0”?
The only application that start up with the phone is TF3D.
I think you might be right, some other application is interfering. Can it be TF3D?
I’ve seen now that I can access the application after start-up from the application menu. It still gives me an error but I can use it.
This is a fantastic application, I will defiantly donate so soon as finances permits
MOD EDIT
Moved to Themes, Applications and Software forum
Hi,
I have Hard Reset my device and installed TouchLockPro. It work perfectly.
Must have been a application somewhere that was the culprit
Thank you

Hi Henk,
good to hear that your problem is solved
*NEW* Zoombar unlocking also working on HD???
TouchLockPro version 2.9 now also has a *NEW* Zoombar unlocking. I expect this is also working for the HD. Could someone confirm it is actually working Because I cannot test on HD.
My expectation is that it works also on HD, because it works on Touch Pro 2 and Diamond 2.
I couldn't get the zoom bar working on the Touch PRo 2... I know it wasn't the question asked but worth mentioning.
some of the functionality seems not to work on the touch pro 2 with the telstra roms.
Yesterday when playing Warcraft 2 on my HTC Touch HD, I felt a need for a DPAD cuz in big maps the camera is hard to control.
So could someone make a DPAD which is compatible with WVGAFIX3 (Dpad must be shown in the black bottom area)
This could not only be good for this game but then it will open the ability to play FPS on out TOUCH HDs in VGA mode with WVGAFIX3!
cmon people!!!!!!!!
Would love it too..
This would be awesome
Vijay is working on it.
You can search a little bit in this forum to have more infos.
Now, we have all to wait.

Judging by the picture hes posted with his dpad-- hes working on a app which works in normal WVGA screen conditions at the bottom of screen.
But we need a dpad which is shown at the black bootom area of scree, when your screen resolution (with WVGAFIX3) is set to VGA(640X480)!!!!
look in the picture if you didnt understand:
the picture shows the black area and Warcraft 2 on THD
WE NEED DEVS!!!!!!
cmoon anyone, someone, please... :/
BUMP!!!!! cmooon ppl
i would love to see d-pad similar to this one from LG Arena look here:
http://www.gsmarena.com/showpic.php3?sImg=reviewsimg/lg-km900-arena-preview/sshots/gsmarena_040.jpg
it does look very neat.
A lot of us want, But no one is willing to create it...
cmoon!!!!
one hope i see its practically posiible .......
so it will be a reality soon
Just a hint: You could use something like G-Controller to use the G-Sensor as a DPAD... Tilting the HD could scroll around the map!
Don't know, if it would work well... but it's worth a try!
Hello!
I have just bought a Bluetooth Gamepad which is from MSI, the model is BGP100 and now that I should install the drivers on my HTC Touch Pro, there is not a driver for my touch pro but I know it works because others have confirmed it. There are a lot of Windows Mobile phones as it supports so what supported model would have been appropriate for my Touch Pro? Or perhaps any that has Windows Mobile 5 / 6?
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13760
It works on Omnia even though it isnt supported:

And I have heard of Diamond users too.
Best Regards Gustaf
use the drivers for any other HTC device listed and it will work
Hi,
I've buy an MSI BGP 100 for my HTC Diamond 2 but I've some problem with it.
Directional buttons work fine but the A B C D buttons are only one button ( sorry for my english ) You know, when I push A B C or D, it's the same action.
Can somebody help me ?
Thanks
i have the same problem, i hope someone help us...
i have read this topic but this not work for me.
a solution perhapse....
Try The Attached File
I know that this thread hasn't been posted to in a few months, but I hope that the information that I am posting will help someone. This is my first time posting anything, anywhere, on the web.... so wish me luck.
My current setup is a HTC Sprint Touch Pro flashed to ToO's CricKet rom(very nice). Whilst expirementing with emulation on the device, and mapping the keyboard buttons, all of the Action Buttons were showing up as the same location on the keyboard. Regaurdless of what button I pressed, they all came up as 020 if I remember right. After spending night after night of searching forum after forum, along came a solution. Posted somewhere in the deapths of our very own xda-developers.com I read about this program KforTP. Created by "Jack Wang", I am not sure as to how Mr. Jack came to developing this marvelous tool... but I think it would have happened like this...
Late one night in 2008 while at the bar, Jack sat sat freeloading WiFi on his HTC Touch Pro. Downloading emulators at speeds that would put The Flash to shame.
(Evil Laugh)
After a few rounds too many Jack became enraged at his phone.
"Why won't my Action Buttons map on PockSNES!"
Only it came out in a drunken slur. The bartender knew that Jack was terribly drunk.
"Hey et your drunk #[email protected] outta here!"
As Jack left the bar in his beat-up honda he turned the music up and let the windows down to keep his mind off of driving drunk. Rounding a sharp curve on a wet road Jack soon found himself spinning out of control. Lights were comming from everywhere on the dashboard....
"OH &$#% I'M GONNA DIE!!!!"
The car finally came to a hault, and Jack was deaf to the music wailinng from the speakers.
"Yeeeeeee Haaaaaaw!"
Jack got back on the road and drove safely home. After walking through the threshold of his abode, Jack knew that he survived that crash for only one reason.
"I must code a fix for my problem with the Action Buttons not mapping."
But any way the file is attached so give it a shot, and let me know how you liked my first post ever in my LIFE... any feedback would be nice.... Add me on Facebook... whatever.... oh wait, i never post my email address! But seriously let me know what you think. I have never tried this program on any device except for MY Touch Pro. The code may need to be adjusted if you intend to use it on any other device. I do not take any credit for this program in any way. The authors information is in the "about" section.
OoOoOpPpPpS
Wait just a second.... that wasn't even related to the topic of this thread!!!!
Well I hope someone gets some use out of the above information.
Thanks for the zip, though just one question, who/what are xda developers?
I was wondering if anyone with a Touch Pro2 could confirm functionality of a piece of software for me.
I wanted to know if binding Keyboard keys in the buttons configuration menu of Gnuboy Pocket and Pocket GBA emulators worked at all.
This is the real deal breaker for me as I use my phone, currently HTC Touch, alot for hand held gaming while im on the bus or skytrain. But ive grown sick of touch screen only for normal phone functions(also Touch can be a laggy biotch at times). the lack of a directional pad on the touch pro2's face means ill be using keyboard keys to play instead so need to know if they'll even bind
incase you are too lazy to google to check
Pocket Gnuboy
Pocket GBA
Hi Friend,
Sounds like you have the T-moblie stock rom to me!!
and yes, your questions has many times on this forum, but to answer your question; get registry editor & pre-pare edit the following:
Locate this path;
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e0010409]
Now your going to edit and remove eT9 in both files below to:
"Layout Text"="COMP IME"
"Ime File"="compime.dll"
Now you edit any key for emulation!
thanks for the reply but I dont own an HTC Touch Pro2 yet.
I have an HTC Touch Elfin from Singapore lol
your registry edit is it needed in order to make keyboard keys usable with the gameboy emulators?
I use pocket Gnuboy and the keyboard mapping works absolutely fine

yea, the mapping works all fine.. but i can't get any of these emulators to proparly stay landscape AND have the keys workm it's always one or the other.
thanks for the responses guys.
if HTC doesnt release a new winmo with QWERTY and android still has crap emulators by February ill be getting one of these
@Taurmindo
On pocket gnuboy go to preferences and then uncheck 'Draw with GAPI'. Map your keys as normal and you should have both.

according to the leaked 2010 roadmap, there is another landscape qwerty coming out, but it's 3" and wQvga, so... If you were hoping for a better device, it wasn't on that release.
Frankly I'm surprised there hasn't been a snapdragon landscape qwerty leaked. I guess they want to finish milking the TP2 first.
It works
I've already got Gnuboy working, and Morphgear, the SNES module so far. the key mapping problem can be fixed with a cab, dutty xt9 fix or something, it's on this forum, I can't remember where I found it.
hey anyone konws what are the original values?i sort of screwed up my phone!
