* If you are not familiar with installing the .png files into the update.zip file then please visit [HOW TO] Manuals for creating a theme There is gonna be a ton of info there on how to do this process.

Dude, those are sweet looking icons. I'm fonder of the darker colors, so IMO they'd look better on something like the Gloss Suite bar rather than the standard.

Yeah I'm gonna try and see how a darker notification bar would look with these icons.
this is the latest of what I've done with font and new slider icon and a new font...
Looking good man, keep it up!
Excellent! For the EDGE indicator, you could have the center light up the same green for 3G. This looks great! Keep it up.

*This is a work in progress but think it's starting to come along thanks for all the help from everyone on the boards and reefermattness for help on creating the icons.
I also added a couple screenshots to show how they look with the phone running them
Row 1: No Signal / Airplane Mode / Regular Cellular Signal Bars
Row 2: BlueTooth Connected / BT not connected / Edge In & Out / Edge In / Edge Out / No Data
Row 3: Battery Charging Animations / Battery Meter Icons
Row 4: Battery 0%
Row 5: Wifi Signal
Im working on the rest as we speak! So more to come XD

Thats a great idea!! Wouldn't be hard to do and implement will post with what it looks like
I would definitely love to use this on my theme (personal theme) Im glad you liked the idea, just seemed the natural progression. Only thing that could be a little different, making the greens the same shade, either the android green or the neon green, but i would definitely stick with one shade.

I try to get him to work on this kind of stuff when he is at my house but he is a slacker, and i end up doing it for him.
LMAO JKJKJK
Ok so here is the newest look to the batt icons as well as a link to download the .png files if u want to use it on your own g1 just remember where u got them from lol The biggest diff on this one is that the battery icons are a brighter green.
However the only files contained in the .zip file is what is shown in this pic if u want the wifi signal and the cellular signal icons let me know. Everything for the battery / wifi / edge in and out all go in the framework.apk file under drawable. I also included a link if you want to download the HTC icon for your slider bar. Those icons go into apps/launcher.apk under drawable-land and drawable-port you also need to rename the files to replace what is there.
This worked for JF1.42 rc33 update as well as JF1.42 1.5ADP

Thanx!! I will check them out!
Pardon me for a stupid question, as I've just started going crazy with the rooting, customization, etc.
Are you saying that these icons need to replace the applicable files prior to a flashed update(ie, alter the build prior to installation) or can these be just updated with the flash utility after you are already running cupcake, etc?
Sorry if it's a dumb question.
Thanks.
You have to edit the update first then sign then install.
@ androidd,
I threw these in my phone, and they are working great. Im gonna try to implement my idea with the same green for 3G, the standard grey for EDGE, and red for GPRS. Ill let you know how it goes thanx for the initial files.
EDIT: I have edited the files and sent you a PM. Lemme knoe what you think.

No worries you have to edit the update.zip >system>framework> unpack framework-res.apk extract the res folder outta the unzip program and then edit the files you want edited (Easiest to just name the file the same as the icon your replacing and then replace the file that is there.) every thing is a .png file and I think most is in a drawable / drawable-port / drawable-land... after your done with all that you have to repack the update.zip file, then you have to resign the update.zip and drop on your sd card... then do a system update to implement the new changes... i.e Home and power button... etc
whew... lol Hope that sheds some light on this, I know it's a lot lol one tip I would say is watch your res folders.. android uses that file for alllll the icons it seems lol This is really a nutshelled version of how to do all this so you may want to check some other threads to get detailed info
So are all these png's already named correctly? Or do we need to search through the framework-res.apk to rename them?
EDIT: Nevermind just downloaded the zip. Can you post the extra icons also?

Hey guys,
Here are some screenshots of the latest theme I have been working on. Feedback and suggestions/ideas are greatly appreciated.
***UPDATE 4/9/09***
Made a lot of fixes based on feedback received. Clock now matches the other icons/notifications, I personally like it a lot better! Application tray handle is now a thumbtack rather than the stapler in jello (stapler in jello is now delete handle). Added matching notification icons for most common stock apps (gmail, im, messaging, market, music, etc.) Cleaned up a weird looking button. Download link below!
***UPDATE 3/27/09***
Icon pack is available below. Included are all the application icons I made, as well as a blank icon background that you can paste your own icons into so they all match. Here is my process for doing that, though I'm not in any was saying that this is the only, or even the best, way to do it:
-Open both the icon you want and the "empty_sketchy" from the icon pack below in your favorite image editing program, GIMP or Photoshop, or whatever.
-You may need to resize the empty sketchy image, it works best if it is about twice as big as your icon you want to paste into it. There are two different sizes available in the zip file below, or it is a simple process to resize it to whatever size you need.
-Select and copy the icon you are working with, and then paste it into the empty_sketchy image. Center it, do any editing you need to do, etc. Then resize the entire thing to 48x48 and save it as a new file.
I'm still making a few changes and updates to the theme, and should release another update sometime this weekend.
***UPDATE 3/25/09***
Beta version now available, see link below. I still haven't quite finished everything I want to do with this theme, but I welcome ideas/suggestions/comments from anyone who wants to test it.
This theme is based on the US version of the TV show "The Office". It utilizes both things from the show, and typical office supplies.
Done:
custom boot screen
some notification icons
unlock screen
button backgrounds
clock
data network icons
phone signal, wifi, and battery icons
notification tray
all custom wallpapers
custom emoticons (from punkymoods.com)
To do:
remaining notification icons
delete tray handle
suggestions, etc

wow that would be awesome, i downloaded this wallpaper and resized it for the G1 and your icon set will look awesome on it
not sure about a new app tab I will be thinking about it and let you know if i think of something
I love it i am downloading now the only thing i would change just from looking at the screens would be the clock i just doesnt seem to fit in
See the first post for a link to a zip file with all the icons from this theme and instructions on how to make matching icons for other applications.
@JediMasterASD: That corkboard wallpaper is awesome. Maybe I should include that as one of the wallpaper gallery choices in the theme.

I don't think I love the clock either. I'm thinking maybe just a square clock like the kind in every office and schoolroom in the world would be better...what do you think?
Thanks again for the icons, i have already made a few more and am loving it! this is my current homescreen
I would actually like to get a copy of your theme without a graphic at all for the apps tab if possible, obviously you dont have to go changing it just for me though but my homescreen would be perfect then. Also a clock that more resembled something you would see in an office would be good too.
also something you could do is for the app tab and the notification is use weapons, becuase we all know how much dwight loves to hide weapons around the office!!!
bump for the update - see first post for changes and for new download link!!!
New and improved! It's truely Blu-tiful
Anyone wanting this theme on a different rom then please attach the framework-res.apk files to a post and I can theme it for you.
This can be found in /system/framework/
Installing
This is a flashable update so just flash in recovery and reboot. Same applies for the revert to original theme zip. For the CM based roms the Status bar is black but if anyone wants will include a blue gradient bar version (will include a couple of screenshots shortly) Also for the full effect then change the Date, Time and Notification ticker to #ff0000ff.
Any problems/requests just pm me and I'll sort it out for you

Looks great! I've been looking for something blue without black bars for a while. Too bad I switched to Froyo for Trout. I guess I'll just wait for the MetaMorph.

The beuaty of the way it's themed means it can be put together in ten miutes including reversal flashable update.
Open terminal and enter the folloing pressing enter at the end of each line.
su
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
cp /system/framework/framework-res.apk /sdcard/
Mail it to me and I'll create the theme for you and I'll add it to the OP too.
This theme can basically used on any Eclair/Froyo rom so just send me the apk, the name of the rom and I'll do a port for you

So then it dawns on me that these roms are basically identical, except that F4T is de-odexed. They're both built on the stock framework, so I flashed it and it worked. Thanks for your help, but no port is needed. This theme is great, it's the closest thing to Nebrada's plastic theme that I can find. I really like the gradient notification bar, don't change that.

The only problem with that as stated in the OP is I haven't gotten around to learning how to change the colour yet, this has no cm framework for notification/date/time colour changing. When I get the chance I will get round to it but for now not a major priority, if of course you can do it yourself already then no problem and I'll whip you one up.

To change those colors you need to DeODex the rom, then either edit the smali or use this tool, once you go that way you will have to replace all odexED app/framework in the rom with your Deodex files or once you are done ODEX the DeOdexed to save the space.
kind of a hassle

luv ur theme, perfect for a daily driver. tbh red and black combo (other themes) gives u an eye strain.

Just delete the odex and apk for messaging mms.apk mms.odex and then replace with one from another froyo rom, I pulled mine from Biffmod and just copied it into system/app/ and worked like a charm.
True Blue has been updated with even more Blue and is now Mulit Rom!
Check out the OP for links and instructions, all also include a revert file if you decide you don't like it
I was getting tired of the unsharp search button in the taskbar, so i wanted to fix this. However, I ended up creating a complete framework in Gingerbread style. I also added 'Fly In and Flip Mix' animations.
Version 1.1:
Fixed blurry graphics.
Reverted back to original Archos app background.
Made fully compatible with A101.
Version 1.0:
Initial release.
How to install:
The easiest way to install is to overwrite the framework-res.apk located in /system/framework/ with Root Explorer.
Download:

Version 1.0 (Old)

Could anybody take a video of this, so we could see how smooth it runs?
Okey i tested it and i have to say: its good
It works fast on my A101
Really nice switch effects with these effects the hole android surface looks smoother
The only thing i have to say is:

And for the rest: Version 1.1 is available in the first post
I just installed the Gingerbread Design, and it's great!
But I've a few suggestions for a perfect version:
- please remove the effect when apps are opening (the two black "areas" that go into the middle, you know what I mean?!), the rest of the effects is great!
- I think, the pulled down notification bar/area should be like in froyo (white/grey), the upper bar is now really cool!
- change the selection color to green
edit: I just noticed, that the bluetooth icon in the status bar is very tiny and "pixelated". Maybe you could take the Bluetooth icon from the old framework.

- I will look if I can fix this but I'm not sure. For the animations I took a pre-made package, not made by myself.
- Honestly, I don't really like the Froyo style notifications bar. That's why I used a dark one.
- A green version is coming, but I want to get this one perfect first
- I will look for a fix for the Bluetooth icon. But on the A70 it looks OK, just a little bit pixelated because of of the low screen resolution.
I updated to v1.1 on my A101, just awesome!
Just the download notification is also tiny and pixeled and i cant change my wallpaper..
any ideas?
I've created an own Bluetooth Symbol, and put it in the framework-res file. Maybe you can use this symbol for the next versions, too.
The issue with the wallpaper is normal, try to change the wallpaper once more, then it works normally.
So, here's my framework-res.apk in a zip folder: Klick!
I tried to make a first green version, and it works! Sorry Hondaracer, but I couldn't wait, so I renamed the framework-res.apk to .zip and edited the pictures.
But there are a few issues, like you can see in the screenshots, for example that the buttons become shorter when you touch them. And not all the buttons are green, but the most of them.
I can help you, Hondaracer, so we can make a perfect version.
Issues we have to change:
- Buttons in the green Framework shouldn't change the size when you tap them
- ALL the buttons should be green
- The effect I said in my other post
- the white status area when you pull down the status bar (in an additional version)
I hope for your help, Hondaracer!
Here the apk in a zip and the screenshots:

2.- After installation can I move between themes or it overwrites the original theme (just in case I would like to return to the original one)
Thank you very much and keep going with the good work

You have to copy the framework_res.apk to system/framework and overwrite the old framework i did it with rooth explorer

Nope you cant, if you want the original theme you have to do like above with the normal framework apk
nobody has an idea whats wrong?
I tried it twice and everytime the Archos hang in bootloops and I had to install stockrom again
edit: fixed
Green_TheiGn v0.99b
from the bowels of the ICS fad, in the absence of the green love, there were some folks BLUE in the face with the SMURFDROID race! (yeah i'm copyrighting that one)
nothing out of the ordinary, unless you want to call ordinary 'blue'
there's a number of elements that didnt get themed properly but it's working and causes no problems that i've seen.
this is made using UnNamed ROM 2.0.1 apk's. you know the drill. you flash it, you trash it. whatever happens is your responsibility, not my liability. NANDROID!
1. wipe cache
2. wipe dalvik
3. go to Mounts and storage
4. mount /system
5. mount /data
6. flash
7. has fun
i exclusively made this for personal use (via UOT) but couldnt just keep it to myself. not taking requests, absolutely no promise of updates hence the smartass version number, though i will be trying to get other parts of the theme to apply properly.
if you're as hungry for green as i am, you really dont have any other options right now besides what you make yourself lol
what's included?
-CRT off animation
-dotted green circle battery icon, gradient to red.
-green download bar
-75% transparent black pulldown (to resemble StarBurst)
-green handle on pulldown (to resemble StarBurst)
-green WiFi*
-green 4g*
-green 3g*
-green 1x*
-green overscroll
-green scrollbar
-green load circle [to resemble StarBurst]
-green volume bars with gradient dark red instead of grey
-green text in status bar**
-LOADS of green icons (but not all) (to resemble StarBurst)
-maybe i forgot something
*only when background data is ON, and signal icons may go wild (due to incomplete theme, author of the icons was lazy-ish)
**time is still white
Changes:
v0.99b
[!]it was actually A LOT more than the load circle that didnt apply!
~load circle to resemble StarBurst
+remember those "LOADS" of green icons? NOW they're applied
v0.99a
-forgot to apply new load circle, STAY TUNED!
+LOADS of green icons (but not all) from StarBurst rom (manually applied)
+green text now works in the status bar for everything BUT the time
v0b
+green load circle now works (hopefully getting a better / different one soon)
~greener volume bar
~slightly less transparent pulldown background (5% change)
+green text in status bar (not working)
v0a
initial

ME TOOO! It's ridiculous! =[[
I love green sooooo much
You know there is native screen shot.... Push and hold the home button then press the power button right after..
can anybody post screenshotsssss
I'd like to see some screens before I give this a shot. I do however like green (atleast on my phones) Anyway we can get rid of the CRT off stuff though? Like maybe give us an option to not have it with this theme?
someone else may upload screenshots, sure, i can put those in the OP
and sorry CRT off is here to stay. i very specifically went out of my way to grab the framework-res out of the add-on to use in making this.
If you are comfortable editing your framework-res.apk search for &roid he has a post with a tutorial to add the crt mod, it is literally a one word change. do the reverse and you're back to the stock screen off animation.

^ what he said
because if someone were to flash ~anything~ that is designed to disable it, it would remove some of the theme with it, unless the file being flashed came from this theme.
~theme updated~
Curious
Thanks for this...Just curious if we can get this for calkulins rom also?

Stand By, my green lovers. big update (LATE-)tonight or tomorrow. watch for it. tested 1 of 3 parts i'm working on, 100% working so far.
OOPS!
oops, my bad...sorry. And this will be my first spanking as a noob Thanks for being easy on me.
big update is here! i think you will find it looking very close to starburst!
small update sometime in the next 2-4 days to take it a step greener.
This thread has been out for over a day now and we still can't get a pick of theme in the OP, seriously?
I am always in favor of great themes but please post a pic to show the users what it looks like. You obviously are posting it here because you want others to use it, but a pic speaks a thousand words and you saying it is green only says 1.

Seriously people. Someone who has flashed it just post one screenshot at least. How hard is it to provide that? I'll get back to UnNamed rom right now just to do what should've been done early on.

hmm.. I'll tell you who, anyone that wants green on a rom released in the past 40 days.
go ahead you two. be my guest. I've already offered to put provided screenies in the op.
like it or don't, i truly do not care. i don't see the point when you know the rom is TW (by default) and you can get a pretty good idea of where the beef is if you just read
even if you were to just read #14
i'm not part of a team and don't owe my soul to anyone. i could just stop sharing.... that cool?

OP
It isn't that hard to press 2 buttons and do this...
Otherwise do expect people to keep asking this... it'll take more time for people to wipe, flash and reboot than for you to simply show your theme. It could be light green dark green lime green and people just want to see... don't make this complicated. Happy Holidays!
Here they are. Battery was low so you can't tell it's green but the battery icon is green on the lockscreen. Yes, it contains the buggy CRT off animation but a fix has yet to be found anyways.
Now I know this won't appeal to everybody...but I am a Liverpool fan!
With thanks to
Carotix for allowing me to use his themes as a base!
jackq for recolouring some red png files
bingobingobingo for making the toggle icons
OlliG for his Rom Fumbler, making it easy for me to grab some suitable signal icons
Spannaa for getting me interested in this in the first place & offering some advice
It is still a work in progress... things I still want to add/change/improve... SO IT'S NOT PERFECT YET.
VERSION 2.3 "LIVERPOOL GLASS" - now it's a simple flash over a stock rom...
Now based on Carotix Glass Themes.
Battery Now Red Android, with yellow Liverbird when on charge.
Yellow Liverbirds on Dialpad number buttons.
Fixed tab selection colour in dialler etc.
Fixed colour of brightness slider
Minor icons recoloured or replaced (most should be done now)
Slider converted to use a Liverpool icon
Android in Liverpool strip comes up when dialling, animated by 5 Champions League Trophies
Liverpool clock in notification bar when alarm set, In clock settings grey/full colour for off/on
Colour on menu frames now matching (thanks Carotix)
Change wallpaper to plain whilst incall, so icon doesn't sit over logo.
6 Liverpool backgrounds to choose from in mms
Replacement icons for phone/log/favourites/contacts tabs done
Banner added to close bar of notification dropdown
Created stock icons for phone/messages/contacts/app tray - black on red liverbird background (looks best on TW stock launcher)
Added an optional UCCW clock in post 2
Added some other optional UCCW widgets in post 2
Optional theme wallpaper of Suarez & Sterling to go with UCCW widgets in post 2
Added modded browser icon as requested
Change icons on clock tabs - football related.
Change mms wallpaper number 3
To do/needs fixing (so you don't need to tell me)
Change the 'in call' unknown contact icon....
Carry on reviewing current system icons

To be fair, I am new to this. I am aiming for a predominately red on black theme, so it is far from finished.
Also consider that I doing this on unrotted/odexed stock rom, as I need to use apps that won't allow root, even if hidden.
But I like the contacts list, the 'in call' android man in a Liverpool strip... there are plenty of updates to come in the days & weeks ahead.
I have made a red android battery, with a yellow liverbird when on charge that will be updated later.
I was also thinking of a circular liverpool badge on the brightness slider.
I do need the framework changed so it can work with/without the alliance mod. It was the only way I had it working on lsd rom.
For now, I carry on working at work...
I could help you.. Got ALL links to change whatever you want! And better make it red/blue like liverpool colors. About birgthness slider great idea!
Also u can mod the lockring with th liverpool logo!

OK. Well I've already switched bases to Carotix glass theme, but in red obviously. That way it flashed for me without alliance rom.
Just working out how to fix a menu size issue then I will start swapping png's to get it to the way shown above.
After that, we can work out between us how to take the idea forward?
I prefer the idea of black/red/yellow as black is the away shirt colour & obviously yellow is on both shirts.
Never been a fan of the marine blue used in the modern badge.
Carotix said he is too busy to do a Red Glass theme, so as mentioned earlier, I have been using the red png's for that theme.
This means it should now flash on LSD directly, with no other files needed.
Currently have a couple of outstanding issues, caused by the dreaded 9.png's but I've got the size issue fixed, just need to sort out their colour now.
Just in the process of moving the Liverpool stuff that I have done to date over & then I'll update the first post before carrying on with some work on it.
YNWA.
Update about to be uploaded.
As mentioned before, based now on Carotix's glass themes.
Temporarily the pop up menus are not the colour intended (currently blue surround), this will be fixed at a later date.
Link will appear in the first post, along with new screenshots.

Definitely no viruses. All I've done is change pngs. :good:
Teaser for next update anyway... in call animations;
100% no virus
I know it's not your file Man
Now I'm home, another teaser for the next update - alarm clock on/off icon revised, same icon used in notification bar.
Don't worry that it looks too big, I've already resized it to fit after seeing that appear.
U not only changed pngs, because to change clock on statusbar u have to edit xml files. Anyway, u know how to change the 'no notifications' text to white?

Spannaa posted an xml file in his thread that he had compiled to make clock on statusbar red. I used that as it was perfect for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2132796&page=15 POST 146.
I simply created a layout folder in systemui.apk/res & dragged it there.
To answer your other question I haven't got a clue, I'm a noob.
Not quite a teaser, but I am hoping to have a go at making some icons, with this as the base...
They won't be ready for a fair while though, as need to decide the best way... I know there's the Icon Set Builder, or photoshop...
anyway, there'll be a 2.1 update tomorrow. :good:
Version 2.1 now on 1st post. Night night. :good:

Yes I know that you can only theme system apps.
Being on Nova Launcher, and the fact I put all my most used apps on my home screens, means that I can change them manually to whatever I want. A pain, yes, but needs must. Not worried about what's in the app tray as I don't use it much.
To change a market app, I believe if you decompile it, and change it, then recompile, then the app stops working. Something to do with the compilation key.
