..that post was originally for Diamond and I did not notice it yet, so I thank skuffx for pointing out that it also works good for the Touch HD. No offense, but a lot of visitors including myself do not have the time luxury to read every single post for every device.

I agree! Thank you!

I have stopped frequenting many forums due to replies like this....there are ways to point things out and ways to annoy...can you guess which yours was?
Let's try and get back to the "community" based way forums are supposed to be run.....

If you have a htc touch hd you dont search on other phones formus like Diamond to find what your looking after.... thats why i postet it in HTC touch hd forum

Guys I've been using this excelent utility for months now on my HD and it works like a charm, I always had it in schedule mode using another tool to launch it at specific times but now use the built in scheduler, since using this I've seldom had to soft reset or had any freeze issues!! I should've mentioned it here earlier sorry guys I guess I was selfish!

Works on the omnia too!

PocketPC in SafeMode

I don't know whether or not that has been posted so my appologies. I found this app while I was bored surfing the net.

Here is a useful and ingenious little app. Installing as a service, when activated it disables your startup items. I've had a few times myself where a startup has gotten out of control and I can't get in to stop it, and unfortunatly a hard-reset was necessary. This looks like it could have saved me a few hours of re-setting up!

I will for sure be using this little gem as I sometime worry about things I install locking up on every soft reset.

Artemis Touch 4.01 Not keeping time & other bugs

Hi, any one know why my clock constantly slows down and I need to set the time again ? It is not an active sych issue... it just slows down.. looses time..
Everything seems to be working other than that on my arte110....
But.. the touch cube/ flow stuff... would be nice if there was some instructionst on that because I dont see any of that happening on my phone even though I got it set to default in the touch flow settings....
No animated cubes or other stuff inn navigation.... Not sure what it is exactly supposed to look like...
the only animated feature is the contact list and the opera mini , as a page loade it slides in... cool,
But other than that opera mini sucks...
it can hardly search this forum.....
and no tabbed browsing or selecting, copying text...
it is however very fast.
And isnt there some sort of function holding down the buttons to the phone vibrates? Would be nice to know about how that works....
Zoom on the camera doesnt work at 2 mp setting...
media player part of the home screen seems non functional...
And what is this hibernation feature?
BTW, it seems that when my screen is dark the phone stops keeping time...
I hope I am not missing any calls durring this time....

The TouchFlo configuration utility clearly lists what you have to do to make it work, the best setting for me is the top to bottom option, never fails

considering it's a beta, it's a million times better at browsing the web that Pocket IE. Can't expect everything and surely not from a beta at that.

Frees up extra ram, that is all
You just need to take the time to explore the features this ROM has, there are a lot of applications included, some may not be to your taste, and others you'll think are fantastic(like hbutton), if there is a specific application you need to find more about, try searching through the forums or on google, there is a lot of information out there regarding most of the applications, unfortunately we can't expect Meschle to produce a lengthy instruction manual detailing each and every single aspect of his ROM, part of that is the expectation that the people using custom ROM's should be able to figure out the nitty gritty details.
Of course the forums are here to answer questions, but it is also a repository of answers to the questions already asked. The TouchFlo one has come up many times.

Recommended tweaks & installs for Touch Pro 2

(lets see if this becomes a sticky )
Hello all. I just received my brand spanken new Touch Pro 2 and im currently playing with it to figure it out. Now most of you vet WinMo users know generaly what you want/need to do with your phone as soon as you get it. You know the tweaks that need to be done to make it faster, and what Aps work better than the defaults. While i know that knowledge is spread all around the forum, i though it would be nice if we collect that knowledge and pool it into one thread so that new owners can go right to it, and pick out everything they want with out hunting..
To that end, now that i am a new owner, i would like to know what I should do to it first and foremost. Ive heard their is a way to tweak the camera to make it preform better (for instance), and i know theirs a way to turn off, or make a quicker way to switch on and off 3g. This is manly the kind of stuff im looking for..
Also. Ive seen a recommendation on how to charge the battery for the first time. Pretty much Anything you guys can think of that new owners should/or need to do to get their Touch Pro 2 working in Top order. I would like to know this (so i dont end up running a slower version cause i missed something..
So how bout it? (i will edit this post as suggestions/links are posted)

That is a *little* more than i want to be throwing at first time WinMo users. IVe been using smart phone edition for a while so i can atleast find my way around, but given this is a new phone, and my first time using a full Winmo, i dont feel quite comfortable (yet) playing around in the registry. What im looking to collect here is "Out of the box" type of adjustments that most here would say should be made.
That other thread is good for later, but i just want to get the "ok you have your phone, now set it how it should be" mode.

excellent! which one of the 645,000 links would you suggest i use for s2u2?
Personally, I'd start with the first one, or maybe the second one since that one is on XDA- Dev. But if you use google in a different way than me and start at the back, that' s your choice.

Closing apps with X-button in WM6.5

I've searched the whole forum but didn't find anything that helps.
Every WM6.5 build I've tried has the same problem, they all minimize instead of closing apps.
Does anyone know if it's possible to close apps with x-button at all or is MS holding that function until 6.5 is done?
\m/
I thought that was a standard setting in task manager?
HTC Task manager does this for WM 6.5 if it is set to do so. If you have the drop down icon on the today screen where the "X" should be, click it & than click on settings. This doesn't work if you are using a 6.5.1 Build though. I believe from what I read Showcase Task manager does though.
Hi
It works well in all versions of WIN 6.5 along with Pbar, WKTASK etc.
But in newer versions of WM6.5 like 23053/ 2047 wher the start menu and buttons are placed in lower bar, these task manager fail along with HTC taskmanager.
Pbar somehow with double tapping closes the program, but confusion because of zoom top bar is still there. Unles these taskmanagers are updated to close the progs from lower bar, the problem is here to stay.
PLEASE use search. This topic has been discussed to death! MS never has and never will include app closing with X button. They have a built in memory management system that closes apps when memory is needed. All X button apps are 3rd party and will not work with 6.5.1. You can use the task manager or similar app to close your apps.

Didn't I write that I already tried searching the forums but didn't find anything conclusive?

Yup there is nothing conclusive for the newer 6.5 builds. Use showcase older version, and it should close just fine by tapping on the left upper corner.

There actually is plenty conclusive, including quotes from the MS developement team. This topic is discussed in the main release thread in the Development and Hacking forum, in my ROM thread, and on MANY threads on XDA and other sites.
Don't tell me there is nothing conclusive. There is nothing inconclusive about this topic other than people not understanding how WinMo works and not reading about the sole workaround solution (Showcase) or a task manager like the built in WM one. This is one of the most asked and least searched about question of WM 6.5.1. If you search and read you will see everything I stated in the first page of a google search.

Anyhow, I am now unsubscribing from this thread, so you won't have to be annoyed by me anymore.

dissable start menu???

simple question.. how to dissabe the start menu on wm 6.1?
is it a simple answer..
thanks in advance
I've had DAYS trying to figure that out. One simple answer: You can't totally disable it.
You can however, move the startmenu items to a different folder on the device, so all program and settings items are gone.
I have 500+ PDA's at work (about 300 Artemis) and we're running a special server to do that for us. I've scripted an initial setup so most things are installed and removed, then the server fixes the start menu and security settings.
