I have recently purchased ACER DX900. As it supports 2 sims together, the default dialer has 2 call buttons : 'talk1' and 'talk2' enabling user to decide from which sim to make the call. As usual the default dialer is with small buttons. Is there any custom dialer available that supports 2 sims talk buttons or can any kind developer make a new one please.
Thanks in advance
having the same problem
Hi all,
I have the same problem with my Acer DX900. It would be nice to have a small tool running in the background that asks you what SIM to use after you pressed the "call-button".
For example, if you call a contact within SPB Mobile Shell, there is no way to select SIM1 or SIM2.
It would be great if someone has a clever solution.
Thank you in advance.

I'm actually going to have a dual sim for the first time in the end of this month. If its registry-based (and will probably be) I'll do a Flash app or a WM6.5 plugin to toogle cards.

as of now, there is no wm6.5 rom for dx900. hopefully you can make one
as for the dialer i am not sure if it's registry based, but the sms sending definitely is. i've already mase a simple switcher for it.
oh i didnt knew it could be so compartmentalized, i thought that one HAD to be inactive so that the other could run....

Dear tWolf
how 's the progress? Did you get Dx900?
Sorry, I completly forgot about this... I wanted to use my ISP offer to have a 3G connection with free slow internet, but I ended up changing to another operator where I have free limited internet.

not many help
got this device (DX900) from 2 days, but i must admit, suport for this is poor like hell. From 2 yeras I have also Kaiser and every 4-5 months my phone changed drasticly because of ROM cookers. Unfortunately I had enough to take my 2 phones everytime and uodate them both, so thats why dual sim is better even without so many features like on Kaiser
I want a big dialer too can anyone make this happen please ?
Any solution?
standard telephone dialer and dual SIM dialer
Can you please tell me where to find information about Android standard telephone dialer? Where is this software and function? I assume this is part of the telephone manager?
Can you please tell me the technique and software to make dual SIM work? Where can I find info?
Thank you.

Hallo, I've installed the rom, that is very fantastic, the best I've tried. I only have a problem: my dualsim, that works perfect on wm5, does'nt works with this rom. Someone can help me?
Hi,
seems as if I am the only person using a dual sim and having fun with it ! What is your problem exactly? The problem that I had is that when I switched from one card to the other the provider wouldn't change in the dialing pad or any other software although it changed. In WM6 you need at least version 5.2.1680 to have that feature working. I use an analog card, that might be the reason it's working. I found many threads about that topic today in the accessories forum and there seems to be a guy having a digital dual sim adapter and having problems with it.
Hi!
Sorry for my english, I am Italian! Some weeks ago I read many threads searching a dualsim that works on Artemis, and I buyed the analog one, that switches operators turning on-off fly mode in the phone. This works very well with WM5, but in WM6 when I switch fly mode, I have always the first operator (vodafone) and not the second (tim). I've set the network using "network wizard" and I think this may depend from this...
What do you think about?
I have Vodafone and T-Mobile and I used to switch from one card to the other but I thought it didn't.
If your card is not broken or has not enough contact there is an easy way to find out if you sucessfully switched your cards. Switch cards, then go to phone settings and check what your voicemail number is. This is the way how I used to find out which card I was using. Do you know what I'm talking about?
Tried so you do, but nothing to do. Now, I also have a digital dualsim and I'm going to try with that.
hi guys
i'm loking for a dual sim that works with the usim "3" ,i have just try to find some thing in ebay ,but nothing ,can any one help me please?

As per my knowledge, ther is two types of "multi sim"
1- the one that holds both of your sims into some smal circut, and there is a third sim connected to the circut, which you insert into the back of your phone, and keep the rest of the circut into the cover back.
2- there is another type, that you cut a small peice of your two sims , and re-attach it to a new SIM, and insert it into the sim hole into the phone.
the difference is if have a place in the back of your phone for the first type, use it, cause it keeps your sims in a good condition and can be used in any other phone, if you don't have a space for the circut, so you have to use the second type, but you can't use any of the sims separte, because you have already cut it.
now, the important part of that all, that you can't use both SIMs at the same time, none of the above solutions can make you online on both SIMs, because your phone of course dosn't support it, the phone is disigned to deal with one network only at the time, the above solutions only makes you to switch your phone off, then re-switch it on, to find your self on the other SIM, and you can do re-switching your phone to back to the first SIM.
hope that I was clear, and hope there is a program some day that can deal with both SIMs at the same time

no,unfortunately and it seems so strang than nobody is interested in it
I did sent an email and I did get a reply (in dutch )
Apparently the dual sim sollution should be usable in our universal, u cut your sim card to pieces (cut the chip out) and put it in a specialy made simcard, that fits exactly in the universal like a normal simcard would.
In a special sim menu u can choose which one of the sim cards is used, BUT they cant be used at the same time if u wanted that u have to buy a dual dim phone, which probably has two radio circuits....

Hi,
there is a third type of multi sim, it is the SuperSIM 16 in 1.
Phisically it is just like a normal SIM, but it can contain up to 16 virtual SIMs.
see: http://www.duosim.com
You need a special SIM and a hardware reader/writer (to be connected to a usb port), then you read your original SIMs and copy them to the SuperSIM with the progam delivered in the kit.
I bought one, I can read my SIMs, but when I try to write to the SuperSIM I receive an error (write failed!)
I wrote many times to the seller via web, e-mail and normal mail, but I had no reply, so I wasted my money and I still need a dual SIM.
I don't like to cut my SIMs, I previously bought a "type 1" (as described by mehegazy) but I cannot close the SIM holder on my Qtek9000.
Bye.

Hi,
I had exactly the same problem like you, and I started searching about.
I figured out with a lot of testing, that using the program "SuperSIM LY-600" from the link "http://www.duosim.com/download.html", totaly solved my problem, so now I have the supersim 16in1 loaded in my qtek9000 using up to 5 different numbers.
I hope that helps you.
Beware using the 16 in one sim cloning system.
Cloning your sim is in contradiction of you terms with the service provider, and can be illegal in some countries. IN brief: If yer caught yer busted!
Oh dont bother if you have a Vodafone UK sim as they use a Triple DES encryption on the card that simply will take you a year to break before you can brute force the IMSI and KA. Oh and yes I have played with this in the past.

Hi Jolas,
I used LY-600 as you suggested and now I can write to the supersim - GREAT!
Thank you very much.
But how can I switch between my two numbers on my Qtek900?
Is there a new menu? Where?
Switching the phone on and off doesn't switch the numbers.
Thank you again.

I'm happy this hepled you.
In the programs menu, you will find a shortcut names "STK". Just use it and you will find the menu 'switch number'.
In case you don't have the STK service, then probably you'll need a new ROM which is suppotring this service.

Hi Jolas,
you are very kind.
I cannot find an icon STK under Programs folder, maybe my ROM does not support this service, as you said.
I tested the supersim on other cellphone and it works, so the SIM seems to be OK.
I'll will further investigate.
Anyway thanks a lot !
Best wishes.

Yes, it does, but be aware you can't use the same time the same number through two different sims because your phone provider is going to lock your sim .
Hi! I would like to have your recommendations about the best dual SIM card and software for using in the HTC Touch HD. One card would be for voice and the other for data (so it needs to be 3G/HSDPA compatible), or two cards from different operators.
I have used the search button, but the answer still eludes me...
One option seems to be the "New Power on off standard dual sim" from freeyourmobile - any experience?
Also, I have read that an analog model is preferable to a digital one - is it true?
Is the SIMTodayCab software, from Pelargonium, compatible with this phone?
Thank you all for your help!!
Best regards,
Rui

do you have to power cycle the phone to change numbers? can you receive calls from either SIM without power cycling the phone? or is there software you use on your phone to manage calls?
You should look/post in the accessories section for questions about dual sim.

you have a new program automatically installed, that allowes you to switch between the two simcards (lasts 20-30 secs). that's it. you are not able to receive calls from both sims at same time etc..
Recieving sms and calls on both card doesnt work with Dual-Sim-Cards.
You need a phone wich supports dual sim (has 2 slots) to do this.
The Problem is that HD and other phones wich are not made for, just have one chip and antenna so you just can be logged in at 1 GSM provider (with one sim) the same time.
Dual Sim Cards just change betwen the cards as you would do (opening it and change the card inserted). Only advantage is - you can switch betwen the sims by software and dont have to open your phone,...
greetings
Thank you for your help!
I have also read that Dual SIM cards often have "trouble" managing 3G cards. Any experience?

not the one I'm talking about!
I have HYPERCARD-3G (look here) and it works perfectly, both with the calls, as with sms or videocall.
Of course work a sim (number) at a time and activated with a simple click, without turning off the phone (it takes about 20 seconds to switch the sim).
Thanks again! Most helpful!
Which variant should I get? I just walked out of the store (Almost bought one) and they are telling me that it's a dual SIM. I honestly like the idea but I have several requirements which my next several questions are about.
Is ROOT, Busybox and a custom recovery available for this device?
In relation to question 2, is Xposed available for this device?
Is a reliable call recorder available? I badly need this since I speak to a lot of clients and recording my conversations with them helps me when I forget something that I discuss with them.
Is there an available kernel that will allow me to tweak the volume of the headset (much like Boeffla for those who have experience in this)?
Looking forward to your answers mates! Thanks!
Edit1 - How do I edit the title? Spelling mistake
1. the one which offers warranty in your country. is warranty available for both variants where you are ?
where i am there is only the dual sim and its a variant on dual sims available elsewhere. dual sim means no wireless charging possible at all. dual sim means only one sim can be used at a time because G4 dual sim is a dual standby not dual active ie it only has one radio and not two. So the other sim goes into standby if you use it all that is.
There is another point, whether you have 4g service in your country or not and whether it can support voice and data at the same time on one sim. Where i am 4g cannot (no VoLTE from the carrier) only 3g can. so if on 3g data, and get a call then i get the call and data stops but if i'm on 4g data then the caller gets a busy signal if using data at the time they called. Conversely if i get the call then i cannot browse the net while on the call (!)
This is where dual sim comes in. they can call the voice number (set up to forward to the other sim) and the data stops otherwise can continue to enjoy data at 4g speed.
In effect this means if you want to use 4g you need a second sim due to lack of VoLTE. otherwise put up with the slower speed of 3G and use just one sim.
2. root can be injected, there is no recovery available as bootloader unlock is not yet available for any variant besides the euro h815.
3. yes but its not completely stable. some modules work others don't. i'd give this some more time.
4. there is one in the stock but otherwise try ACR, it works quite well for me with another device.
5. not yet. this will only happen when botloader unlock becomes more widespread.

1. I'm unsure. I'd have to go back to the store and ask. I beleive(from experience) you cannot use voice and data at the same time on my carrier(s).
2. Read about that a bit, and from my understanding, the dual SIM is the H818, which I haven't found a root for. (This is honestly most likely a dealbreaker for me) But should I be expecting a reliable root and bootloader unlock soon?
3. I think this is applicable for all Xposed for 5.x and above no?
4. That's pretty neat that LG has one in built. I may not need root if this is the case. I'd have to check which applications use root and see if they are absolutely necessary.
5. Sounds good.
Quick question that I forgot to ask about though, I use AirDroid to manage, send and delete SMS from my device as it's a lot easier to do this on a computer screen. When I updated to KK/LP on my device, a whole plethora of problems arose such as not being able to delete/send SMS if an application was not the default SMS app.
In addition, I use Avast Anti Theft which heavily relies on SMS Commands. Is it still the case today?
Sincerely appreciate the well informed response mate

Hello,
as far as my research concluded the Note 10 doesn't support assigning contacts to a specific sim card.
While this isn't normally a problem since you can chose the setting to ask for each call, it is a problem when driving.
When starting the call from the car, it doesn't ask which sim card to use and therefore doesn't start the call at all.
Are there good alternative phone or contact apps which allow me to assign a specific sim to a contact?
Both the default app and the google phone app (currently my primary app) don't seem to support it.
Are there any good alternatives?
Thanks for any advice.

Try True Phone. Should be possible. This app has much more than just that.
Good question! I use all the time the dual sim function and it's such a non-sense having ro select all the time the SIM number I've got to use every single time... On my OnePllus 7T this used to be so simple....
Have been testing True Phone for about a month now and have been very happy with it so far.
Fixes my problem and allows a deep customization. Can absolutely recommend it.
I had a headache at work because of this. after all, a lot of necessary numbers were missing. I even lost my best friend's number, and besides, he moved to another city. But thank God I found a reference book, and it became easy to find a friend in France. I could not solve the problem with the phone. I had to buy a new one, I switched to an iPhone and am very pleased. And I advise you to go to the service or buy a new one.
