+1 vote for KeePass
awesome software!
+1 KeePass.
It has also PC version which works with the same storage file, so you can edit your passwords on both PC and PDA.
thx , I'll give it a try
Are you using the legacy or newer versions of KeePassPPC? Just wondered what everyones experiences are with the newer version. I have been using the older legacy version for quite a while and find it works very well.

I have not long had a PPC - XDA IIs. I was wondering if anyone can recomend a decent sofware package to store passwords/bank account details etc... for the PPC and the Desktop PC....which provides synchronisation through Active sync. I have seen a few packages...."pocket safe" which is good but only stores passwords on the PPC. Others I have looked at include "Roboform" and "phatNotes". I'm looking at something either free or good value.
I guess this is the ideal forum to ask. I had a quick search on the forum but nothing specific came up.
Have a look at Code wallet from developer 0ne.
Im using it on my XDAII with just the pda version.
Ive found it very useful.
But you can get a desktop version as well.
http://www.developerone.com/
Take a look at keepass.sourceforge.net
There are two Versions. One for PC and one for PPC. As much as i know, you're able to synchronize the data on it...
Have taken a short look at it few weeks ago, but didn't have had the time to test it if it's good or not....
So if you try it, just give me a few comments....

Password for PPC and Desktop
I use a thing called Ewallet from iliumsoft it is great syncs both ways as well so doesnt matter if you make changes on both ends
it is encrypted and password protected as well
LumpiStefan,
I have installed both the desktop and PPC version of KeePass Password safe and I can confirm that the they work well together. It offers the same or better functionality than others I have seen which cost!
Thanks for the tip!
SplashID
try SplashID
single package installer for PPC and desktop!
wonderful working!
I can't seem to get either the most recent, 0.3.0(1), or the previous 0.2.2 to work under WM5.
Any hints on how to get this to install?

I SECOND IT !!
anyone know where i can purchase a VNC Client so that I can install it on my 8525 using WM6 Black Edition 1.2 ?
Thanks.
Doesn't VNC work with a web browser? If so, what happens if you try accessing your server that way?
-Steve
well yes, but you can have the server installed on your pc, and have the client isntalled on a remote PC... I used to be a previous Palm OS user, and I used to connect to my PC at home using PalmVNC.
Is there a VNC program i can use that i can install on my 8525?
Here you go
Copy exe to sd card or phone and run.
out of curiosity, has anyone tried the remote desktop function in wm6??? i use the vnc for ppc also, and havent made a full commitment to wm6 yet... now that i think about it.. i bet you have to have remote desktop on the pc turned on... fk that
thanks alot man!!! works like a charm!
I'm using this one:
http://www.freewareppc.com/docs/netvncviewer.shtml
It's working perfect for me.

yes it works good... scaling is a B*tch but it works.... I like USING VNC better.
is it possible to extract the ".exe" files and have them displayed in the Programs area?
i just create a shortcut.... i take the file, store it on the card, tick and hold till your menu comes up, tick copy, then point your file explorer to windows\start menu\programs then in the folder tick and hold for your menu, select copy shortcut. From there i usually edit the file name so it doesnt say shortcut, then your done!
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet thanks!!!! Im still getting used to WM.. Been a Palm OS user since May 05

this is the one i use... it works great... but needs a little tweaking
Personally i use .net VNC Viewer and UltraVNC server.
.net VNC Viewer can handle server side scaling.
This means smaller image and less traffic .
i am not sure if i am allowed to ask this but i am looking for a way to get this i want to try it if you can help feel free to PM me
I'd like to know where I could get ahold of this too, but I feel that it is only open to a limited amount of beta testers as of now.
hers the cab. I haven't got a key for it though.

What good is it without a key?

None i'm afraid unless you can hack it or someone gives you a key.
Its being beta tested by the chosen few at present and apparently if they distribute their keys it stops working for them too.
Posted the cab in the hope one of the devs here may suss out a way to make it work without a key (i don't think its possible though)
I really dont see what deepfish has to do with WM6, but besides that..why in the world would you want to use a browser that runs through a MS proxy for everything, or whatever the correct term is.
Try this
8735644102444130
forget deepfish, as a key-holder, I can assure you it is not up to par. Go with Opera mini 4 beta 2, it is much better browsing experience.
thanks anyway for shearing with us allthough there opera mini 4 beta
One problem.. Jbed Midlet manager no longer works.. and the Tao one sucks. What Java Manager are you using?
Nevermind, saw other post.

Is it possible yet to port or somehow run an Android app for PPC?
I'd love to be able to use Zombie, Run and my Touch Pro 2.
It's a free game currently under developement.
Here's a link to the open source project, and I've attached the program itself in a zip.
Thanks
http://code.google.com/p/zombie-run/
nope. on Android you use the DalvikVM and program in java syntax, using the Android APIs.
games like these are so easily done on Android because google provides GPS, compass, maps, etc. APIs that are very easy to use.
IF you will see something like this for WM it would be much more work and had to be done from scratch.
Are there any similar games available for windows mobile?
What about this?
http://game.zrli.org/
It´s very, very similar... Try it and report!

It's great, though it would be awesome if it would use internal GPS on phone/laptop
Edit:
I would love to see this on windows mobile, i can even donate some money to make effort worthy
So, no one to do this right for the money? Not only lacking of devs but they're lazy as hell too..

i used JBED.....and i got the verification code......instantly....check on some other device if u have...maybe because of service provider
You can test spb shell for windows mobile. I had for a long time a wm5 and spb was so awesome.

Same with me ( Jbed ); did not receive any verification code, but when clicking to ask it, the midlet closes. I read in whatsapp faq's that it must be enabled to interact
On the other side, if this midlet works, you'll have given a solution to all my friends with android/blackberry who hated me 'cause I'm using WM with no chance of whatsapp
have faith and try using some jars for whatsapp ....it will work
all i can say
Dont work
Hello everybody,
I have an Sony Ericsson Aspen and I have my Verify Code but over Android.
After I click on Activate it says Wrong Verify Code...

Whatsapp will not work on WM6x. So far, I have not heard of a hacked version that works. Furthermore, Whatsapp has been constantly reviewing their software, so any hacked version will have to constantly keep up with their revisions.

There is a very similar app called "telegram". It's open source and they share the source code, APIs etc. So maybe someone would be interested in developing a version for winmo? its already made available for android, iOS, windows phone, desktops, etc. by unofficial developers.
