Hi, it is Possible to enable an option like VSync on the HD? if i scroll fast (like in the file explorer) i have "breaks" in the middle of the screen....
I know this problem from my PC at home if i play games on a LCD screen... Activate VSync and its done...
Any programm or option for the HD?
Vsync problem HTC HD
I have the same problem.
If you have found the solution, you can post it?
Thanks
I think this is pretty much fixed in windows mobile 6.5, so your best bet is to flash a 6.5 ROM.
Vsync itself would not be a good idea to implement as it would involve capping the fps, which isnt that high to begin with.
hello mate
i dont know if it depends on what rom your on, but im on topix 3.2 and enabled vsync and to me it actually seems like theres an improvement in the smoothness of the UI especially wen goin through photos in full screen
anyway, just use a registry editor and then use its search function and type in vsync
thats how i found mine, it was on 0 i changed it to 1.
dont expect a miracle but it helps
p.s i also got neodriverpack 3 installed and gfxboost, dno if that affects anything
peace

whats your idea of a perfect rom? whats it got to have on it? or is there already a perfect rom already? my idea of a perfect rom, basically has a great battery life, can run many games perfectly and has opera mini and doesnt suffer from hard resets.....
Well each use their phone differently. Personally what's on my signature is spot on. I have no issues as I run skyfire browser. Pushes email with exchange 2k7 I don't play games on my phone as it is purely a business device.
A light ROM that has a device update type program to add whatever you want. I would love to say something with M2D or something along those lines but I dont really like any of the options so far. I would rather have it clean and simple and be able to build from there.
Phone function should be fast
I have noticed few other devices of Windows Mobile 6.1, they don't have any problem with the dialer and phone system. Its fast and responsive but here in Hermes it seems its not focused. I am using Faria's Last rom and working fine but yes the phone function is same as before. I have video caller installed and wanted to stay with it otherwise what is the use of 3G network and video phone I have.
ok lets see...
Many problems arent rom issues like Hardresets sooo lets center on my point...
1.- Conections are the future... share is the pulse of new hybrid devices so...
R---- It cant has Bluetooth issues i would like to send from beam a file via BT or pair a stereo headphones without troubles, has BT folder FTP. IRDA fully functional i mean Push via beam and receive too... many issues with this becomes (cause its obsolet). Wm5torage without problems. Wifi without issues for WPA or WEP... Mmmm no issues on comm manager. UMTS HSDPA i dont have problems with this.
2.- Speed is the best way to feel power!... even if they outside are Devices with 200hmz are faster!
R----So I know the speed becomes with new builds even more and more... but it can be performed so much more with some tricks... and the Ram... needs to be intact... i mean no Apps running hide.
3.- The love comes from the Eyes... NEW UI please.
R---- The Icons needs to be atractive... leave the default apps by HTC work good (ok ok with their fixes like HTC home, WMP, etc etc) but with some skins. the phone with opal canvas is really nice. The bars and wall paper dont matters are cuztomizable... the start Icon needs to be a new one not the orb of new builds the BW or the Normal ORB... maybe a newone or Vista likely.
(M2D... maybe but i think it becomes great of flavors ROM one light... A full and a M2D... maybe One with the sidebar by Omnia)
4.- Performance... I hate Soft reset every 2 hours hahahaha
R----The OEM package doesnt matter... maybe the 20207 was the most stable... I dislike everytime make softresets... so i reed somewhere even the newer is not the worth!!! And please fix the PIE cause Skyfire experiments much troubles today they shuts off the sound
5.- Real BIg Storage PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we need storage cause many apps works much better on device memory.
6.- Office works fully many version dont works well... are the most worth it cause bussiness. and all the shortcuts please--- new sounds too.
I get the start screen but I cant get the ROMS to start, it just goes back to the start screen. Any suggestion on how to get the games to start?
Kinda related to this problem I think, but when I use smartgear and I turn off "throttle to 60 fps", it actually speeds up the games, and sometimes it crashes to the start screen.
Check settings, and play with it a little.
Yea I have been I cant figure out why it wont start.
ok I got it the application has to be in the same folder as the ROMS.
I see from your post above you got it to work... But just for future reference you don't necessarily have to have it in the same folder as the roms, did you remember to install the tgetfile program? You can find most emulator stuff related to the dash in my sig!
No i never heard of "togetfile" its just an exe. Someone mentioned in Modaco that it had to be in the same folder as the roms. I messed around with the settings and stuff, I dont really like it, the games are choppy and the control is sloppy.

You have to install TGETFile on the phone first I think... As far as choppiness though, you will find that it is more choppy with sound enabled. If you try without sound it should run a little more smoother (not perfect though). Overclocking your Dash might give some results as well. I've tried it with mine overclocked to 228-240 and it seemed to work a little better but again not perfect, so I just disable the sound and run at normal clock speed just to save battery (at least until I get a better battery, or upgrade to the HTC Snap/Maple thing - whichever comes first)
^playing an emulator with a trackball will be interesting. Mine is clocked at 252.
I do have the sound off and the screen skip set at 3. It seems to do ok.
I've had my TP2 for a week, having moved from an HD and it's pretty good. But there are a few changes I wonder if any one can comment on:
1. My HD ran at about 40-60% memory usage when running reletively few programs. In fact you could be running 10-15 without even noticing. The TP2 runs at a much higher level: 60-70%, and today ran out of functional memory when my daughter had Tilt and Bubble Breaker at the same time. Does anyone know why this might be the case? It's a bit disappointing!
2. I used to run Phone Weaver on the HD. The TP2 can't find my personal ringtone files anywhere, no matter where I put them. The standard software can find them easily.
3. I used to have BBC iPlayer on the HD, but can't access it through the TP2. Is there a way to get it back?
Thanks for your help!

1 - 10 to 15 apps on the HD without even noticing? Hell no. That is not true.
Anyways, TP2 has the same ammount of RAM as the HD, but has less available to the user. I guess the new TouchFlo3D demands that. Your situation is strange though, because I was able to run 5 apps without a problem.
Maybe you installed something that is draining the memory. Install a good Task Manager and check what is running in the background.
2 - I don't get this. Did you install PhoneWeaver on the TP2 and it can't find the files or what?
3 - Did you access it the normal way, or did you use hacks/tweaks?

I don't have the device but i think this problem is isolated to your device. I watched a review on youtube (the greatest review i've ever seen by the way) and he had a good 10 apps running. I don't know what each app was doing but he did have them running.
Here is a link to part 2 of the review.

how does the TP2 compare to the HD (aside of course from keyboard)? Is it faster than HD with a good ROM? Im thinking about the change...

As a former owner of the HD and a user of the TP2 (not owner though) I can safely say........... TP2 IS MUCH FASTER !!!!!! It is much better overall. HD fails @ being a phone very, very hard. TP2 is on another level compared to it.

1. find that hard to believe as i too run multiple apps with my tp2 and it has never run as high as that nor run out of memory. as orelsi stated there is something draining your memory and it not down to the device
2. not really sure on that one. i use mp3 trimmer if that helps.
3. did you use bbc ipalyer app or view in opera. if you use in opera need to do 'opera:config' in address bar scroll down to user prefs and input sgh-i900 in custom user agent. if there is any text in custom user agent just add text string 'sgh-i900 at the end of it! this enables bbc iplayer mobile view in opera.
i have actually installed a stand alone bbc iplayer app and that works as well.
Not only is the ram thing related to the fact that the os is taking up more ram but I think I read somewhere it has some ram reserved for video playback or something like that, but if there might be a cab for the old touchflo 3d in WVGA if you want I you could probably use that instead of the new one, which would mean more ram but you would lose all the benefits of the new one

That would kind of defeat the prupose of the upgrade .
I noticed that the new TF2 goes deeper than the old one. You had only some icons on top of windows in the old one. Now you have TF2 almost everywhere and to find windows you would have to dig deep in the settings or menus. Pretty good for people who like TF3D.

lol I guess so, I think that the new touchflo seems pretty nice because it makes windows mobile more touch friendly, but I haven't actually used it myself

As a business machine it's miles better, and the TF is brilliant. But comparing the two side by side I couldn't say that the overall experience is much better than the HD.
I have noticed that the ram use is much higher than on my fuze running a tf3d2 rom. But after reading around, it seems to be something that can be addressed when custom roms start rolling out for the tp2.
Hi,
I just got a Orange MPV650 (aka Artemis), and I just installed Wm 6.5 (build 28002, emrulez, with titanium).
I'm disapointed by the global responsiveness of the system, and I'd like to know if there's any way to improve it.
There's some kinda lag every time I select something, sometimes I even have to click twice to be sure it's selected. However the keyboard is really responsive; so is there any way to improve speed in the menus, like with registry editing, or turning off some effects?
Also, any one can suggest some app to get a better keyboard (it's a pain to send sms)
thanx
Hi..
You can use Pocket Hack Master to overclock your processor. I use it and it enhances overall speed. Very nice application.
Use google to look for the application...
Cheers
Update the ROM is the quick way, too
I think you hear about FpseCE v0.10 is released.
I have WM6.5.3, but i get freeze on first (Load ROM menu)
I think start the topic for share our configs and problem solution on Touch HD.
I will update this first post, if arrive interesting things.

All right, first of all FPSEce is NOT WORKING WITH SOME ROMs, for example T2M's(maybe due to some additional programs or tweaks). Now I'm using XT GRID EVO 17B ROM(build 28014) and FPSEce runs fine for me.
Secondly, FPSEce is NOT WORKING if Showcase is installed.
About Frame Per Second... Final Fantasy runs with about 30-40 fps, Driver 2 - about 20 (really hard to play). As I know G-sencor is not currently working for all HTC devices.
I'm steel playing with setting and trying to get as much as possible.
Not working for me, what we all need is a nOOb guide.
Dont have Showcase installed and just hardreset my HD2...tryed with two different games, dont work. But then again, i dont know how the first screen should look and i find the info very confusing.
Ok, Colin Mcrae 2 worked. Runs nice but not my kinda game... If i can find any ok looking games (besides Final Fantasy) or make GranTurismo 2 work, ill make a donation next month!

hi mate,
I think u should really give up ur gaming desires with regard to touch hd, cos it's gaming porfermance is really pathetic as far as i know:
1, there isn't much games that fully works with wvga
2, our device doesn't support multitouch which is just a vital disadvantage for gaming.
and etc.
I have searched every possible aspects of gaming for blackstone device serveral months ago, and all i realised at the end is that this device sucks hard in terms of gaming....
if u don't believe me, just check out e.g. iphone's games in person, then u will know what i'm whining about...
and that's the truth..

One thing i would love would be if someone were to post their config here (i mean onscreen buttons/overlays). i just couldnt get it set up properly for the life of me. it would also save time when moving between ROMs. preferably as close to a ps1 controller as possible (or mutliple configs such as a racing (like gt) config with both analogue sticks, a fighter config (like tekken) with dpad and other buttons(not analogue sticks))
about the guy above me whining about blackstone games - there are plenty of good games if you know where to look. And when it comes to the iphone, sure it can game but once you stop playing and want to be constructive, the iphone fails miserably.
