Photogene like editor - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Anyone knows any fun photo editor for WinMo that works like the Photogene on iPhone?
I know there are quite some photo editors out there but none offers text frames... Plus the user interface is really good. I am not particularly fond of the iPhone but this app is really impressive...
Many thanks!

What is the Best/Easiest Graphics Editor? - (For skinning)

What is the best and easiest graphics editor program for skinning?
I have been trying to use GIMP which it not terribly easy and I would really like some input about other programs. I just really do not want to buy photoshop. Haha.
Hints, Tips, and Tricks are also very welcomed about skinning and manila! lol
maybe a good tip:
can IrfanView edit pictures?
OH!
And a very good tip for a Windows Mobile "Photoshop" - Pocket Artist !
It's not freeware, but it worth it!!!!!
Paint.NET found here
free, fast, and very good for skins (simple)
About to give up on skinning. Shoot me.

Enjoying PointUI Home2 over Touchflo or SPB etc. Check it out.

I was getting a little bored and irritated at the way Touchflo was making everything so hard to get to.
I put everything back to standard Windows for a while but it obviously wasn't particularly very finger friendly (although not as bad as everyone made out).
I tried SPB 3 but tbh it looks and feels amateur and the UI wasn't as clean as I'd have liked.
I then came across the free version of PointUI Home2 (http://www.pointui.com) and its a really nice replacement for Touchflo. (It also seems to use less memory and is definitely faster.
It has panels like Android which are actually usefull, ie.e displaying all email summaries for an account on homepage etc.
There is a big development community and there are many apps and themes that make it looks and work very nicely. Lots of sliding transitions, and an almost full graphical UI replacement for commonly used menus like start and settings.
If you haven't yet, check it out.
here's a fairly decent run through video (although it does look and work a little better on my TP2 and the default theme is nicer than on this vid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXIy_9fZBa4
All the Themes available (inc android, sense etc.): http://community.pointui.com/topic/themes-the-themes-store
All the Apps available: http://community.pointui.com/topic/applets-the-applets-store
Probably the best theme, PointSenseUI: http://community.pointui.com/topic/pointsense_s2u2
I used Home on my phone from 1.0 to soon after they released 2. The one thing I couldn't get over was the screen rotate lag on my Tilt. I'm sure that's less of a problem on the TP2 (or I hope?) but it drove me away from it.
That said, each revision from the PointUI team made the program get better and better. There are a ton of UGGGLLLYYY themes but of course there's a gem every now and then. I used the "Seven" theme, I think.
I think the coolest feature of Home2 is how anyone can make an applet. And while some are butt-ugly, some are really nice looking and amazing. It's worth checking out at least for the sheer number of cool apps people add to it.
I (still) don't have my TP2 but I'm going to give TF3D, Chome, and Home2 a fair run. Home2 is a really nice looking program and I don't care if it makes me 10% less productive on my phone, aesthetics can enhance my experience enough to make up for that.
Im finding it is very responsive and enhances my phone greatly.
I've paid for the pro version, and the threaded messages and message timeline feature is worth that alone. Basically you can have a timeline of messages, including all emails and sms all by time, brilliant.
It is very beautiful and i also use 7even. I don't have auto rotate enabled as i dislike rotating displays unless i pull out the keyboard but everything else is great.

The best programs nobody told you about?

Curious... I see a lot of good programs on here named over an over but there's also **** I've come across and haven't seen many people mention..
I see a lot of SPB mobile shell talk, and its GREAT software.. also heard about PointUI (wasnt a fan though)
But I never heard about Winterface? And so far I like it better then both.. maybe because I was used to SPB an this is new but I'm lovin it, it's a simple interface, runs real smooth, and does everything I want..
Other programs I heard rarely or just missed the memo on..
BeeJive IM
Panoramic MoTweets
SK Tools
Speed Booster
UCWEB
Opera Mini (through java)
Task Facade
I don't use task facade now that I been using Winterface.. didn't with SPB either, but it was nice with TouchFLO
Any others ya'll have come across but never really were told about?
And anyone using Opera 10 beta? I got it but it seems to close before I get to do much in the browser, I'm guessing cause it's beta it must not be completely compatible? The whole interface and options are WAY better then the 9.5 one that comes with NFSFans ROM.. personally the 9.5 runs slow for me I'm forced to use opera mini through java its the smoothest browser I've ever used but it doesn't do videos (not even sure if opera 9.5 does? I know the explorer that came with the ROM does but I don't like that either really..)
Kinoma Play- slightly memory intensive, but it's my favorite music player. I'm still on Vin's lightning fast 23506 ROM so I don't really miss any of the memory it uses.
Opera 10 beta is really nice(I haven't had it crash??). I just miss the zoom bar occasionally, but I've just started using the d-pad to select links instead of zooming down to where I could click them. It has it's own ideas sometimes on how to deal with long or complex websites, but overall I enjoy it's aesthetics. If you're having trouble with it go back to opera's website and make sure you have the latest release.
I use Bing more than I thought I would. I really like its phone book/yellow page functions.
I tried using Task Facade a while back when I was running NFSFAN v12 or so and at that time I thought it was to slow and laggy. Now that I'm running Vin's speed demon 23506 ROM I have started using Task Facade and I really like it. There is almost no lag and with it mapped to the camera button I don't miss having HTC's Task Manager at all.
yeah i had used it with NFSFan and it worked fine, task facade was a great program
ill re-install opera 10 im not sure what it is, like i said tho maybe it isnt compatible with NFSFans ROM.. cause he has the 9.5 that comes with it, probably for good reason
I'm liking opera mini. It seems to load a lot faster then opera 9.7
Yeah unbelievably faster.. I do like Opera 10 beta though
skyfire 1.5 is my fave
Showcase Task Manager.
Manila 2d like interface. EXTREMELY nice and fingerfriendly.
also. fartmachine. (immature there) and pocket noise (both xda+ppc devs included). extremely amusing.
Does anyone have any good programs involving things like...
Stocks?
Stock information/updates?
Are there any alternative web browsers worth looking for other than these...?
UCWEB
Skyfire
Opera
Iris
Netfront
Anyone know of any good skins for Winterface? (the original is the best, the others have to big of icons for me)
I'm tryin think of more things... hmm..
Anyone have any programs they've always wondered about and never came across?
I just flashed Vins V_4 and have been using the M2DC manila customizer by Mpenguin14 and its a great program for anyone using M2D.
I like your initiative. Some titles are not so popular because not every developer pays for the marketing. And most users buy what they are told to.
Regarding your list and internet browsers I've seen an interesting one, I think it was called touch browser, very similar to the Android one.
I like:
Thumbcal
G-Alarm
Resco contacts
All three greatly improved WM funtions and make them more finger friendly.
Another program that greatly improves the "finger-friendliness" is SMS-Chat by Vito Tech. The stock SMS for WM has never been very good, which is something I hope changes with WM7, but in the meantime this is a great substitute and has some really nice skins that you find right here on XDA.
im a huge fan of SOTI pocket controller. Granted its not exactly PPC software, but it really is nice for when im working on my desktop/laptop and need to access phone files or send out a text.
Or when tinkering with it in general : )
S2P
TCPMP
Advanced Config
PocketCM Contacts
PCM Keyboard (much lighter than Fingerkeyboard 2.1)
Gen.Y DualBOOT
CleanRam
PHM Regedit
Notepad
File Explorer Extension
A good Android build
I use a lot more stuff, but these are really the essentials for my Vogue (IMHO).
I was using PCM keyboard, recently switched to zoomboard before i flashed to android, seemed to work a touch better for my big dumb fingers.
These make WinMo tolerable for me:
Windows Mobile 6.5.3+
ArkSwitch Task Manager (for 6.5.3+)
PhonEx Dialer (for 6.5.3+) -- sooo much better than any dialer out there, including the HTC GSM Dialer. You get a great full-screen predictive dialer, with smooth contact swipe scrolling. Only contact manager where swipe scrolling works on the vogue (without me accidentally dialing someone). Also it preserves the stock WM dialer for phone codes, and is fast! Comes with slide-2-answer.
EzInput 2.1 / Swype
Things I hate / want to die:
Going through three screens to acknowledge or answer a text message
The above, for missed calls
Internet browser -- None work well, Opera Mobile 10.5u seems the best, but I much prefer the Android browser
Battery life is the only reason I haven't switched fully to android yet.
You always hear a lot of talk about Swype, but you rarely ever hear about the similar, but much smoother SlideIT keyboard. I've used Swype and Shapewriter, but SlideIT is probably my favorite keayboard.
I'm a big fan of SPB Radio. Best app on WinMo.
A great app for music is nanogroove, you can stream your music and custom playlists from the grooveshark.com website. I also use SPBMobile Shell and zoomboard. All excellent software.

What text editor do you use?

What text editor do you use for your windows mobile phone?
I did a quick search for a lightweight plain text editor for Windows Mobile and I was not pleased with the results... I started to develop my own Notepad clone about 30 minutes ago and I decided perhaps I should ask around here, first, just in case there is some awesome one around that I don't know about.
So, does anyone know some great, light-weight plain text editors for Windows Mobile?
I use the one built into Total Commander - it has about the same number of features as the desktop version of Notepad
Try Jot, an excellent text editor, with rich settings and functions builtin, which is able to handle files with the size up to 30M and various encoding formats.
http://pandora.sblo.jp
If you mean editing on the phone i use Notepad. It works very well, but has a sizelimit above which it does not work anymore. Basically i use it for small/medium size mscr, xml, cpr, ini etc.
On my PC i use Wordpad.
TextPad32 - www.TextPad32.com is a awesome app for PC.
For mobile:
Tillansoft Notepad
Shimashi Notepad
Osymo Textpad
i will find links shortly...
I use CKE (http://www.animaniak.com/cke/cke_main.asp). It is old but if you are thinking of features to add to a more modern text editor, this is a good one to look at to get ideas.

Heh, this one looks a little better than the other link that I saw about Notepad Mobile.
Interestingly enough, it looks very similar to my implementation (I actually called the project Notepad Mobile before I saw this one. ) It does seem to have all of the functionality of my own, though it lacks the keyboard shortcuts for the clipboard that I implemented with the Touch Pro 2 in mind.
EDIT: Now downloading it, I'd also notice that it poorly implements some other features such as the status bar and the font selection. It's also not nearly as light-weight as they advertise. Personally, I think Total Commander is much better implemented in features, yet it isn't stand-alone which is my only problem with it. I'm also not completely sure if you can associate file types with the text editor in Total Commander as I have implemented.
If you like this one, I will package mine and upload it a bit later in the week.

Gimp/Photoshop/Conduits Pocket Artist WM6/ app?

Is there any app out for android that will allow one to open/create .psd files on the phone and view layers? The only thing that I missed about my 6700 6800 6900 touch pro and touch pro2 is the ability of editing .psd's in the go with conduits pocket artist. I loved my hero and now evo but wish there was a to even open .psd on the go. (I'm work for a graphic design company, hence the necessity of being able to at least view .psd that are sent via email on the go)
Hello,
I've been asking myself the same question and googling now for an answer, I've come across your post.
Shame on this amazing forum that nobody has answered you yet...
What I know from my own experience, is that there is Photoshop Express for Android but it's really potatic... You can just modify brightness and some basic stuff of your images, but you can't draw, can't apply any brushes and no top-notch features...
I'm considering the Android platform, but currently on Diamond with WM 6.1 I'm really satisfied with the serious applications out there...
There is Blender for Windows Mobile !!
Pocket Artist is a really amazing piece of software, with which you can even use Photoshop brushes!!
And there is a lot of mathematical and scientific software for WM, not sure whether all this is available for Android too...
I hate windows as an OS both on a PC and on a phone, but the software available for that platform... Really amazing variaty and quality !!
