Hello all! I originally had a Cingular 8125, but recently upgraded to a Cingular 8525. Can someone tell me.... How do I find/activate? the handwriting program. I used to be able to "write" my emails, etc., and it would recognize my handwriting and then change it into print. I could also use the handwriiting program with the NOTE program and just freehand write myself information. Is this NOT included with the 8525 but is with the 8125? Seems strange to me that they'd take something like that out, but...? I can't seem to find it. If it's NOT there, is there a .cab or downloadable program that will do the same function? Thank you all in advance.
You're looking for the Transcriber. I have it in my ROMs, however I'm not sure if it's workable as a CAB - or if a CAB is available...
Here's the cab.
Thank you both so much.... I just downloaded it, and I will install it. I wonder why they didn't put it into the 8525? Oh well... why wonder things I'll never know the answer to

Black HTC Phone pad
HI,
I have found that if you just take these 2 images (Assets_dialer_Normal, Assets_dialer_Pressed) from the windows folder, you can easily just take them into photoshop and then replace them on your device, I did this already and it works perfectly. Only thing is you need to use a program to replace them, such as Resco explorer, which you can download a free trial.
Now the second issue is, does anyone know what the name of the other 2 buttons are while in phone pad? They are the back button and the calls buttons, located at the bottom left and right hand sides. I want to make them black as well
Thanks for the advice...

He dont need a DIALER he is talking about Keypad when you write e-mails SMS and so on so the images Asses_dialer etc are for the Manila Phone Dialer not the keyboard

Hi All,
Yes sorry but the post started out as Phonepad, dus I thought it was for the phone. Keyboard would be the correct word to use for this issue.
I have alos not found a solution for this one although I imagine you can do the same thing possibly?? Find the image(s) which are being used for these and update them...??
Anyone find out more about it?

Hi Folks,
I am replacing my keyboard on my AT&T Tilt, note I am saying keyboard and not the keypad on front of phone.
I have made one such post on this on xda already without much success in response, maybe because I couched the question wrong, not understanding what I really wanted to say.
So, here I go again.
I am looking to install a TyTnII keyboard on my AT& Tilt. I may purchase from here:
https://www.gsm4world.us/htc-tytn-ii-p4550-oem-keyboard-w-flex-d-01433_297.html
What do I need to do to make this keyboard compatible with my Tilt? I have seen threads talking around this subject but cannot get specifics on the TyTnII keyboard drivers (ROM) for use on the Tilt. I have seen some posts suggesting installing a ROM, but it seems these posts suggest flashing the Tilt with an entire TyTnII ROM, not just the keyboard ROM which I want to avoid. If someone has just such a suitable ROM - TyTnII keyboard ROM for use on a TILT, I would be so appreciative.
I have seen some posts suggesting editing the Tilt registry. But what do you use to edit the registry? I would prefer this option if the registry editor was freely available. Could someone please advise where I can find a regsitry editor for free or how else I could effect this? What is the correct registry edit?
Thanks all.
Hello,
A few days ago I flashed a Windows 6.5 ROM, (XannyTechROM GRID LEO 2.6 ROM) and I really love it, it's like having a new phone. However, for text input tools, it only has phone keyboards like qwerty, phone keypad. But it looks like it does not have transcriber or letter recognizer and I use these when I write longer emails. Can anyone help and tell me if it's possible to install these somehow?
Thank you very much!
Tried this in the apps section?

thank you, I have not tried it yet but I will in a few minutes. Anyone has a cab for Letter Recognizer, please?
Thank you everyone
Hello,
I have a Touch Pro 2 with a QWERTY physical keyboard and I have flashed a french ROM to sell my phone because I have upgraded to the HTC Desire.
The problem is that the ROM think my keyboard is in AZERTY.
I know there is some reg change to change it to QWERTY but I want to know if there is a CAB that can do this.
Thanks a million times in advance for the one that can help me.
If You cannot find it, I would propose to convert from .reg to .cab. There are programs out there who can do this for You, although I do not have experience with them. Sorry not even a name, cannot find it. Just do some searching around here.
