Windows Mobile 2003 or 2005 XDAII upgrade

Hello,
I was wounder where I can get the latest upgrade for my XDAII I already have Windows Mobile 2003 2.06.00WWE on O2 in the UK
It doesnt have windows media player 10 tho.
Anyone now?
Thanks,
Steven Ross
If not mistake, wm10 only appear in wm2003se ver 2.207
I used Windows Mobile 2003 SE and it's a great release but it does not include Windows Media 10, the only device to date that has WM10 is the JAM. So far no one has been able to implement WM10 on an XDAII (or any other device as far as I know).
But as me, You can try Windows Mobile 2005 but you have to remember that it's a BETA release, so you will encounter some problems but at least you'll get to enjoy several improvements also.
I'm happy with WM2005 because:
1. Bluetooth is much MUCH better. I use it for Activesync and bluetooth headset and always works even at the same time even while on a call!!!
2. Better GUI including Phone Dialer
3. Much more stable, even though it runs on very limited resources, it feels peppy and responsive
4. I feel safer knowing that if I ran out of battery my data and installed applications will be safe thanks to it's new persistant architecture
5. Picture and Ringtone assignment under Contacts (no more clumsy IA Caller ID).
6. Better MS Office Integration (i.e. Excel now can produce Charts)
7. Windows Media 10
Problems with current Magneto release that I can live with in the meantime:
1. Video Capture has a limit of 240x180 pixels and seems choppy.
2. No MMS
3. No Activesync through USB
4. Very Limited Program and Storage memory
5. Certain Apps and games that I like are not compatible with WM2005 yet.
Best regards,
Rayan

Phantom Alarm Bug
There is a reported issue of multiple alarms going off even though the alarm is turned off in Settings. There is no known permanent fix at this point.
Phantom alarms can be cleaned up by following these instructions:
1. Load SKTools Smartphone Edition (Clean up and uninstaller utility)
2. Select View -> Maintenance -> Notifications Queue
3. Scroll to the bottom of the list and there should be multiple entries already checked for “Clock.exe”.
4. Select Action -> Delete marked
5. Do a soft reset (turn off then back on).Helpful Applications and Add-ons

i want to programming c++ at HD2

hi everyone
i want to programming c++ at HD2
I found in market a programm "esql" and it is for DB it very nice
but I need one for c++
can I find any program for this ??
no one can help me??!!
up
Your best bet:
Visual Studio 2008
Windows Mobile Professional SDK
ActiveSync / Windows Mobile Device Center.
Free alternative is Embedded Visual C++,but IMHO it needs much more experiences with object programming, but if you understand the principle,it is also good to develop something. Actually,it is designed for old WM2003,but apps developed there are working also under newest WM versions. Additionally to evC++ you do need WM 6.1 SDK with emulators and latest ServicePack for evC++.
Main problem there is,that the emulator for WM5+ doesn't work directly with evC++ and it cannot connect to the device directly via ActiveSync(because since WM5 it is using TCP/IP communication instead of regular serial as before). However, these are minor problems.

ce softwarefor windows mobile

hi,
i got an question: can i run my windows mobile 6.5 software on an windows ce 6.0 os?
jakob sebens
Probably not, although the reverse is sometimes possible, the results may be less than ideal.
Windows Mobile is a superset of Windows CE, specifically designed to run on small screen phone devices.
The main difference is the fact that on Windows Mobile, the command/menu bar appears at the bottom of the screen. From Windows Mobile 5.0 devices onwards, the left and right menu buttons are mapped on to the left and right main menu items which appear on either side of the SIP.
A lot of the calls to set up and use this stuff, are in AYGSHELL.LIB and are defined in AYGSHELL.H
There is no guarantee that this library has been included in any Windows CE builds. That decision lies with the OEM, as it an optional component. If it is not a Phone or PDA type of device, why would the OEM bother including them?
When you run a Windows CE program under Windows Mobile, the menu appears at the top as per normal Windows PC applications, but the bottom menu is created incorrectly, as it contains only the SIP, and the menu buttons either side are missing. Also, the program must have been compiled for an ARM CE target device, as 99.99% of all WinMo phones are powered by ARM processors. CE can be made to run on a variety of different processors, ARM just happens to be one of them. An exception to this may be programs created by the .NET Compact framework. If the CF properties and method calls are compatable, then the program should work, if the JIT compiler can convert it down into native code. There are a lot of ifs and buts to be successfully dealt with, before this can happen.
The programs 5x5 and Life, in the signature below, are Win32 ARM programs. They have separate CE versions. 95% of the code is the same, they have just been ported over into the base shell "hello world" program for that platform, and small adjustments made to get them to work properly. I don't actually have a plain vanilla CE device on which to test them. They have been tested under the CE 4.0 and 5.0 emulators running on a PC.
