Afternoon,
I'm looking for a (preferably freeware) application that password protects SMS (and perhaps email) folders on the HD whilst using the TF3D interface.
I'm using Dutty's 1.8 ROM and like the TF3D interface (esp the calendar) so don't really want to go to the standard WM6.1 GUI, although I know there are programs that enable this feature if you choose to use this interface.
Is anyone able to offer any suggestions?
Thanks for the help.
No joy then!
have a look on this post...
don't know if it's what you want.

Ok
Thanks.
What i've done is removed the "SMS" and "Mail" tabs from TF3D
This means that you use the exact same SMS setup as if TF3d is disabled.
What would be good would be if it was possible to make the "SMS" tab link directly to the account selection page, meaning there was no message preview envelope, as even with Eye on Privacy installed, you can still read messages in TF3d, with a password prompt only occurring when you enter the windows messaging bit.

anyone know of a cab file for the quick dial contacts screen/page of the cube. it's all use the cube for, so i'd like to just have my other favorites (main ones being on home) mapped to a button. just press and it's there, without the cube animation etc.
cheers
or failing that, which files to extract from windows etc before copying to new 'cubeless' rom, if that's possible.
Standalone Quickdial.exe from Cude
Bump...
I have the same question (1.5 years later). Is there a standalone version of the QuickDial application from the HTC Cube (without TouchFlo and without the Cube)? I would like to call it from a shortcut on the today screen so that I can dial favorite contacts safely while driving. (A VGA version would be even better.)

HTC Touch Diamond Sprint
BTW: I know that TF3D has a similar contacts dialer, but I have TF3D disabled because...
1) I can't customize the TF3D home screen to suite my needs
2) The device lock doesn't work in TF3D with device pin protection enabled, but the regular WM6.1 "Today Screen" device lock does work.
If someone knows how to bring-up the TF3D contacts screen with TF3D disabled, then that would work for me.
Hi guys,
Yesterday I installed Manilla 2D, update 19a on my Artemis. My OS is the original HTC WM 6. I don't have anything else installed (reset the storage before installing M2D). It seems that some of the tabs in M2D do not respond on tapping. For example, I cannot add contacts in the Contacts tab (I have contacts in my list, though). The same is with the programs, weather and options tabs. The SMS, music and email tabs are working as expected.
I was unable to find posts with similar problem, so I suppose that I am doing something wrong. Can anyone help? Should I post this question in D&H?
Thank you in advance,
Val
there are some dll missing in your windows folder...try another cab.
Hello,
I wrote a programm which allows someone to send SMS over CherrySMS (a online Service).
It even adds these SMS messages to the Sent Items (SMS) Folder.
But afterall it is not really well integrated into Manila & Windows Mobile.
I'm searching for a way to add a menu entry into the Manila Messages view (where you can see received messages) and the Threaded View that I can simply click on that and my application starts and can reply to that message.
By searching the web I just found a way to add menu extensions to PocketOutlook, but that's not enough for HTC/manila based phones.
So is there any good way to archieve that?
cool!
The manila tv player has a functionallity like this! i think you can stick to the implementation they used in their files...
Where do you actually see the sourcecode of manila tv? I just see a cab file and a description how to add channels to this application.
But afterall it's not such a bad idea to completly replace the SMS/message view in manila. It might be a start ... thank you
Does someone else know a way to add a menu entry to a manila based application? Maybe it is a xml-file, or a registry entry? Sorry I don't know very much about this whole Manila stuff (especially the manipulation of it).
I know custom tabs for Manila has been discussed many times before, including one for tasks. But my question is different - is there a way to add tasks on home tab? Like replacing the call history or calendar entries. That's the only thing I've always missed in Manila - seeing if I have any active/due tasks right after I unlock my screen.
None interested?!
I'm definitely interested! I have no idea how to do it but I would love to see it. I've thought about this many times.
Well, obviously it makes only two of us. It seems is either unwanted and/or impossible..
+1 pls.
Sorry I have no clue how to do this
Yup, +1 here, makes 4.......
I don't know of a possibility to add tasks, but you can use this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=602221
You can place a today plugin, like TodayAgenda or some other Tasks app. to cover up for example the calendar part on the home screen. Or you can add it to the Operator tab.

This is actually pretty straight forward if you follow the steps correctly. This is the way I did it to put messaging on the home screen.
Install the 2D TodayPage cab
Stop TouchFlo (Start > Setting > Home > Items and unselect TouchFlo)
Soft reset (may not be necessary but better in my mind)
Run M2Dtp config from programs page
Press and hold the red area next to plugins lable
Select Tasks (or whichever you want)
Leave Window at Window_00
Set x=10 y=240 w=220 h=60
Choose M2D widget page (Home)
press apply
press menu
press OK
Start TouchFlo (Start > Setting > Home > Items and select TouchFlo)
Switch to another tab then back to home and it should be there.
NOTE: You may need to experiment with the X (Left) ,Y (Top),W (Width), and H (Height) but they should place your plugin right after the calendar
How about Sense2.5.1922
Yeah.. well, I am more interested in latest Manila 3D - Sense 2.1/2.5. Apologies for not specifying that. Adding it to the title.
I change the right soft-key of the Home tab in my Sense 2.1 to "Tasks"..
So, if I want to see my tasks, I just tap the right soft-key..
I would also really like to get Outlook Tasks incorporated into Sense!
As part of the 'home tab', the 'calendar tab' or as a separate 'tasks tab'; either, some or all are fine with me ;-)
It surprises me that Microsoft has downplayed Outlook Tasks in WinMo. In Outlook it is easily accessible and a really useful tool for 'appointments or To-Do's that are not strictly time-specific'. That at least is how I use tasks.
Therefore it is really annoying that you have to open a separate app (either MS' own or something like pTasks) to access them in WinMo.
To have Outlook Tasks show up in the calendar I have to use a full-blown program like Pocket Informant.
It's also strange to me that HTC has overlooked the incorporation of Outlook Tasks in their otherwise excellent Sense-UI!
I'm even surprised that the great programmers frequenting this fine forum seemingly does not think that Outlook Tasks is worth incorporating into Sense.
Apart from the ease of access that comes with incorporation into Sense it would also enhance the general 'user experience' to be able to access Outlook Tasks in the same UI that lets you access the other Outlook-functions like mail and calendar!
Hopefully someone will recognize this 'oversight' and remedy the situation soon ;o)
Does anybody know how to make Tasks beeing displayed on home tab? (the way appointments and other calendar entries are)
Shortcut to Tasks is not the way out - it would be perfect to have 'to do list' always on, under the clock

Hello!
It seems what you are using lua scripting in your mod? Can you create mod with tasks instead of appointments?
I'm not the only one who dreaming about such mod . There are many people using tasks without any appointments...
Best regards and sorry for my English.

I'll try to add it.

Argg, I really need tasks on home page.
I'm about to remove Sense from my device and go back to WM today screen just because I can see tasks...
I agree to the best solution I found is installing pTask and make shortcut on the homescreen.
Using:
HTC Tilt2 (AT&T)
Stock ROM
Manila 2.1 tf3d (not sense ui)
Is there any simple way (via editing xml code or a .cab) to add notifications to the home screen of the touchflo 3D? I really dislike both the sms and email tabs and want to remove them, but need to know when an account has a new email.
Alternatively, is there a way to make the tabs display the # of NEW messages, rather than Unread messages? If so, I could just use the tabs for notification, and otherwise ignore them...
I have been searching a reading until my head hurts, but I just cant seem to find the right key words to get the info I need. Thanks for any help...
Ok, maybe a complicated way, then?
After looking through all of the xml files on this device, there does not appear to be one that controls the main "home" tab of the touchflo 3d interface. At least, not one that I can make any sense of (there are several that are just numbers/letters grouped in 4s through most of the document)...
So... What type of file should I be looking for, and how to edit it?
---------------------------------------------
What I think I know about the xml files:
att_tabitems.xml -> all of the elements on the att tab of the touchflo ui.
default_contacts.xml -> speed dial
ha_skin_*.xml -> photos and videos tab of touchflow ui
internet_portal-en-US.xml -> top half of internet touchflo ui
StreamingPlayer*.xml -> music tab of the touchflow ui
There's also a few obvious ones for other program's, like the calculator, settings for pop mail... etc
They are manila files.
I did a quick search and i found this... not sure if it will work though

How would the phone discern which messages are unread as opposed to which is new? They are essentially the same thing. Good luck with finding that one.
All new messages are unread... but all unread aren't new (but "new" being as you haven't read them so, in a sense, all unread messages are new... yeah haha have fun with that.)
Not quite, I think...

I've looked at all of the manila files with the manila editor (literally every single one)... they all seem to be just images. Am I missing something here?
Edit: Yes, I'm a blooming dope. The manila editor was filtering for just graphic files. opening in mode9 editor allows me to see file types. There are 4 types of manila files: mode9, lua, xml, and graphic files. Haven't figured out what yet, but the file 590ad244_manila seems to be the xml file controling the home screen. Not sure how far I can get with just the xml (as there are also lua and mode9 files associated w/ the home screen, but I'll be giving it a go over the next bit

Thanks, but that thread says it is for "sense", and that seems to be different than the 2.1 tf3d "manila"... at least based on post 3 of this thread

That is exactly what I am looking for though.
Any chance that information is wrong and I actually have sense 2.1? I read elsewhere that if the slider icons were black/white, it's not sense, colored icons, it is. Can't seem to find that info anywhere right now though.
Thanks for the help so far, I really do hope you all can help me sort my muddled noob confusion out here.
*Sorry, had to remove the http bit from the link to the post. for some reason the forum is calling that an outside link and not allowing it.

Well, I have ~102 unread messages on my gmail account (I suscribe to several linux lists- i know, cut back) and 4 unread messages on my outlook. In TF3D UI, the message tab says 99+. If I switch to stock Windows Mobile 6.5 (titaniun), on the email slider it just says "1", because there has only been one message received since the last time I went to the email interface and opened those accounts. This has been the default behaviour of all of my previous WinMo devices (always WinMo standard, before now).
