qtec 9100

Hi guys,
I've just bought the qtec 9100/ htc wizard and new to the forum.
Can anybody point me in the right direction to where i can find the t-mobile rom for this? or the latest rom? Please note I require a UK rom.

I've updated the qtec to the t-mobile rom now, the keyboard is set incorrectly. for example when i use the '@' symbol the '!' symbol appears.
I've checked regional settings and its set to 'UK' Any ideas??

JASJAM afert Upgrading to WM6 Don't accept arabic

please ...i try to upgrading my JASJAM to WM6 is okay and Every thing okay but when i need to install the arabic file i maen CAB file like ACERT_ARB &Default_APrayerTimes_JSJM_eula the arabic dosn't work and my device tell me this message (( can not ran in this device )) So can any one tell me how to Solved this problem ..

Yep! That's right. If you're trying to install the cabs from i-mate then Imaginet's Arabizer is i-mate branded. Wait (a long time) for i-mate to release WM6 for JASJAM (if ever) or buy your own legit copy of the Arabizer suite.

Arabic on jasjam
Arabic runs with any WM6 version on the jasjam using the attached files (also available on imate jasjam Arabic ROM).
Procedure:
a- Mount your EXTROM using HERMES_MountALLExtROM.cab.
b- Copy the files to the jasjam EXTROM.

. . . 2- Default_MultiLang_AR_JSJM_eula.CAB . . . . 755 kb

c- Using File Explorer, run the files and install on the main memory.
*Files 3 and 4 enable Arabic text on the sliding keyboard.

Actually it is not necessary to install any extra fonts.
The way I do it is, I install Pocket Islam + Bukhari & Muslim hadeeth packages, I then install the 4 files mentioned above; afterwhich I perform the configuration.

at this moment, i'm uploading to you the Arabizer of the JasJam after upgrading to WM6. and it's working perfectly on any Rom. tried and working.

here you go the arabic system and also working arabic on keyboard.
Here you go, download the file, extract it. and move it to your storage card, and instal it in order of the numbers as from 1 to 17.
You have a full arabic working system and keyboard as well.

@ GSM system, “Please read the following carefully”.
After installing WM6 and all is well and the phone actually works:
1- Connect through the USB and copy the file (HERMES_MountALLExtROM.cab) to a folder on the phone.
2- Now on the phone, click start menu --> Programs --> File Explorer and find the file (HERMES_MountALLExtROM.cab) and click on it to install it.
3- Once installed, reset (reboot) your phone.
4- Once Windows up and running, you will notice through “Activesync” that you can see EXTROM folder and the files inside it.
5- Copy the 4 attached files to the EXTROM folder to run them from there.
6- Again, on the phone, click start menu --> Programs --> File Explorer and find the ExtROM folder, click on it to open and you will find the 4 files.
7- Install them one by one then reset your phone.
If the above description does not work for you, you need to write a step by step procedure of what exactly you are doing so that we may be able to tell you where you are going wrong.
Q- Are the file format changed when being copied?

I think with some wm6 roms (like the latest lsvw rom) the device is reset to be an htc tytn device instead of imate jasjam and that what is what is causing the message "cant be run on this device." As u notice when u upgrade to the latest lvsw rom, the device name is set to htc_tytn. This dose not happen on the latest black rom. This is just my thinking why is this happening. I hope someone can solve this issue as I am thinking of going back to black rom.

My device is T Mobile Vario II which is exactlly like the JasJam and the Tytn ..etc.
I tried more than 7 WM6 ROMS, and many ways of installing the Arabizer. but always
got broaken Arabic letters and the message
"can not run on this device"

The phone I have is an i-mate Jasjam, I have upgraded this phone more than 15 times between WM5, WM6, Radio and EXTROM. This is not the first Windows Mobile phone that I have neither it is the first time I install Arabic, In fact I had a role in Windows 98 and Windows 2000 Arabisation many moons ago.
My current configuration is: IPL=1.04, SPL=1.01 MFG, Radio=1.41, OS=WM6 17913 LVSW, EXTROM=cooked. I do not install a complete ROM, and I always install individual component using MTTY.EXE (except for the radio). Immediately after a new install, I fill in user and device info; I then install the Arabic software. Initially I had a problem with the Jasjam sliding keyboard until I identified files 3 and 4 responsible for its activation.
Please notice that:
1- If you manage to install i mate Arabic ROM (WM5)
JASJAM_Arabic_1.20.305.3_1.20.304.104_1.07.03.10_ship.zip available on ftp://ftp.clubimate.com/ . Arabic should be fully functional and we should no longer talk about hardware. Be very careful, things could go wrong.
2- If you install Pocket Islam suite, you will be able to view and type Arabic using the screen keyboard (there may be a RTL problem when writing Arabic).
3- You can install the Pocket Arabiser Suite from http://www.imaginet-software.com/index.aspx?p=arabizer. It should work with any windows mobile device, but the keyboard will not. You know what to do (files 3 and 4).
4- I am not sure if the Arabisation software checks for a Jasjam signature, if such, you may need to install one or all:

. . . Default_PP_KeyBoard_Layout.cab
. . . Default_PP_Version.cab
5- Try a clean EXTROM with only Arabic files in it, in case particular files are preventing Arabic files from running.
6- Try the way I do it (review my previous post) it may work for you then you can uninstall the software you do not need.
I apologize for the lengthy post, but I felt it may be important to a lot of people.

Do not worry, if it works for me, it should work for you. Try the following:
1- Download the WM5 jasjam ROM from imate site (mentioned in my previous post).
2- Extract the EXTROM.nb file (this is the complete jasjam extended rom)
3- using MTTY.EXE install it to the phone like this:
USB> task 32
USB> lnb ExtROM.nb 57500000
USB> task 8
3- Ensure you have WM6 (preferably LVSW as it installs the extended rom automatically) is installed.
4- Press (Left Soft Key + Right Soft Key + Reset) all at once and install the whole lot.
5- If it does not install automatically, mount the EXTROM and run Autorun.exe.
I hope you understand that the problem is not in the method/s provided, the problem is in applying them (or your hardware, which is unlikely). Concentrate on using the exact files provided and ensuring the steps are followed carefully.
Now, please notice saying "i try any mathed to install arabic but dosen't work ...your mathed and more but no way so please if you can help me" does not help much. You need to list the exact steps you are executing, at what stage an error appears and the error message.
If all fails, see if you can install the full jasjam WM5 ROM and if Arabic works for you then, if it does not, you may have a Hardware fault.
Can you also tell us; when you bought the phone was Arabic installed on it?

You still did not come back with what I asked for, a step by step scenario and the error message!!
You need to do a lot of reading, please refer to:http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes and go through some tutorials.
Also to: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_BootloaderMFG where you will find mtty.exe inside the SPL-1.01MFG_Pack.zip file.
I can only tell you 4 points that may save you time when trying to connect:
1- The file you need to load using mtty must be .nb (like EXTROM.nb)
2- to be able to connect the device must be in the IPL SPL page (color screen) to get there press (Power button + OK button + reset) release the reset then the other two.
3- to be able to connect using mtty you must disable activesync USB connection, do the following: right click on the Activesync icon on the task bar, then click on Connection Settings... and uncheck Allow USB connections.
4- It is best to have the file you wish to upload to the phone in the same folder as mtty.exe.
You are now in dangerous territory, navigate very very carefully; you could end up damaging your phone, what you want to learn is not difficult and already on the forum. Make sure you read the WIKI properly and use the search option of this board.

Thought to try using the PDAMobiz package and replace the ROM and give it a try even though it's based on pdocwrite.. Result is an error during writing at some time.. So kids don't try this is you don't know how to recover using the bootloader or you'll have a brick.

Can you tell us how you flashed it ? From bootloader results in a CRC/Certificate error.. Using pdocwrite (modified from PDAMobiz) resulted in a somewhat delayed write error here.. So what did I miss ?

then used ARTE from FTP site, copied os.nb to arte folder and rename it to windows.nb -run upgraderom.bat.

What file exactly do you mean (filename pls) ? I only know of the PDAMobiz roms which are installed using a batch file.. The only ARTE I know if the official Dopod firmware update but it doesn't come with a batch file..

then use winrar to unpack the (bepe) wm6 wwe rom in this page (written in red). flashed using bootloader method.
after u get german rom installed , run ARTE os flash utility from xda ftp.

copy os.nb from first folder (bepe) wwe rom to arte folder and rename os.nb to windows.nb then run UpgradeRom.bat

Requires a reset here since the os.nb/windows.nb update never finishes visually.. After that it works fine (after the reset needed during the missing bmp when customization attempts to start), exactly as you described.. Works great
For those wondering.. Works fine under Vista (32 bit version).. No idea about 64 bit version.

I tried to flash it yesterday with the updaterom.bat file and it just stayed copying to my phone so I thought it did not work, but after killing the process after 25 min and resetting my phone I had WWE WM6 on my Artemis, still I think it is strange that pdocwrite never finishes. Apart from that great ROM some minor issues..

Cant download full ROM, only 24 M and stop, tried few times. Can someone upload to different place. Please!!

bepe, can you tell me how much free RAM you have? I hope that you have more than 30 MB by removing all the O2 stuff. I never had more than 30 MB after a hard reset and some of my apps need 30 but I have only 20 now.

I was wondering if the apps e.g. windows live messenger are still in German?

My Orbit is from O2 UK, does it still have to be CID unlocked to get this WM6 on it?

It really is a WWE rom... I replaced all German files and rebuilded (not edited!) the Registry based on the WWE packages. The screencaptures will prove it

I suppose you really know how to do this stuff. Can you tell me which tools I need for "cookin" my own ROM? I'd like to have it in German and with my own Ext ROM, maybe I can get rid of some apps that waste my RAM. I only need the names of the tools, I'd guess they are on the xda-dev ftp server. And how do I extract the ROM from the installation file? In your signature you have a nice GUI for the Hermes stuff, is it the same for the Artemis. If you want you can send me a short PM in German.

i780PCSHK3 Upgrader VISTA Guide

As all we know we have been waiting official wm6.1 rom upgrade and mike-wasowsky named user made a big suprise! he gave us the links of wm6.1 roms for i780. I downloaded rom i780PCSHK3 and modified with an hex editor ( I would like to thank many time to melgurth to show how we can edit exe file ) then I installed rom yesterday night.no more problem during installation and phone is working very well. Now there is a mini guide how to do it;

2.) download an hex editor i preffered HxD as editor like melgurth and choose one of these exe files given above and at the end of last line at editor you will see the version of rom ( it is seen as i780CS) change it with your version ( mine was i780pdxhi1 so u will change that line i780DX) then save as you exe file somewhere on your pc. by the way
3.) Start exe file which is edited by yourself.the progress is shown at pc when rom download is finished then unplug your usb cable and power on your i780 wait for a while and there will come Language settings choose which language you want then system will be in that language
4.) as final, there is no operator settings in system tab it means you have to add mms and internet settings by manually.if there is a cab file for it can you share with us?

What is the i780PCSHK3 for language? I can't find any codes with CS? It's a provider customized?

yes it is belong to telenord telekom you can choose the language you want after rom installation process. and there is no operator logo or skin. just i needed is to have mms and internet settings of my gsm provider.because there is no shortcut to operator settings.you should enter it manually.i dont know do we have any chance to import a cab file from other version of i780 roms for operator settings?

My mouse stopped working... only DPAD with up/down works...

I have realvga installed. But it worked after some resets. so I don't think there is the problem located. Probably PQzII (for scroll buttons remapping)?
What I also noticed is that when I push an icon in a menu it scrolles to the bottom :/ only pushing longer on an icon it opens the tool...

.. try typing a COMMA (, .. the one on the righ side of the space button) - you will get a "ä" instead of the COMMA.. any idea how to fix this please?

Yes the XP Link seems to be out of order I mean what is the size there is no information of the file size. Keeps on downloading endlessly! Please upload the XP ROM to a downloading site and post the links. Benveq did you use the vista rom or the xp one? Which is better?

I have pda part as i780PDXHI1 and the Phone Part as i780PUHJ2 should I edit to i780DX or to i780PU ??????

Quick Guide
1. Download ROM from
http://fus.samsungmobile.com/i780/NE/PCSHK3/i780PCSHK3_Upgrader_XP.exe
2. Open the file (EXE) with winrar in a new folder
3. Open CSHK3_XP.EXE with HxD editor
4. From search menü: replace i780CS with i780DX (I used DX since I was using DXH1 as the PDA Part) save and replace CSHK3_XP.EXE file
5. Run setup.exe for the USB drivers and the other setup from unpacked new folder to install modem
6. Start CSHK3_XP.EXE (which you modified) and rom begin upgrading eboot+PDA+Phone. Detect Phone ( Tick mark all the components make sure device is charged fully and you have synchronised with active sync)
7. After upgrade completed and i780 restart set language and the device is ready
8. SPB Backuped up file from old rom insures you get the settings back.
9. Enjoy with new ROM and post any shortcomngs problems here.

Message and GPS button (always opens Meessaging) do not work correctly after remapping them...

Sorry folks, ignore my question. After running my exe, it gave me a wrong software version. So looks like it's not compatible with my phone version.

this is not the issue.
you need to change the EXE of the installation (after you extracted it from the upgrader file) using HxD and then it will work.
look back in the forum (use HxD as a search parameter) and you will find the instructions.

Thanks All, edited the "DXHL2_XP.EXE" file from the installable and it ran seamlessly. My phone is now on the DXHL2 version and works fine.

Have you noticed any improvements in battery life or speed ever since you upgraded?
My phone is an Indian i780 also on the DDHE1 rom. I am looking for an upgrade but would love to hear your experience on this rom.

you need to change the EXE of the installation (after you extracted it from the upgrader file) using HxD and then it will work.
look back in the forum (use HxD as a search parameter) and you will find the instructions.

I am not able to extract the upgrader file using 7zip.
It said Cannot open file xxx as archive
Any other suggestions?

WELL
1. First Download the ROM FILE FROM

2. Then USing WINRAR EXTRACT FILES TO a FOLDER
3. THEN DOWNLOAD HXD EDITOR AND OPEN THE EXE FILE and CHANGE THE VERSION DXIB1 to DDHE1 FOR UPGRADING PHONES BOUGHT IN INDIA.
4. THEN SAVE THE FILE AND CARRY ON WITH INSTALLATION...
WELL I UPGRADE MY I780 BOUGHT IN INDIA VER DDHE1 TO WINDOWS 6.1
