Black Shadow doesn't work well!

Hi guys,
My friends and me tried Black Shahow( black 4.0) today. It really got big memory as previous black version, free ROM 53M and RAM 30.4M, noticed that TOTAL RAM showing near 50M instead of 48M. The HTC home looks quite ok but for the weather panel the cities are limited for selection. THE BIGGEST BUG IS that sometime it CAN'T START PROPERLY and ALWAYS HANG during the re-starting period. You may need to reset it for several time just to start the phone.
Long time expectation but still encountered major bug.
Hope JJ can solve these bugs.

Perhaps this would be better off in the official thread? There was no need to start a new one.

Anyway, just FYI:
the original one was ok but jj added a file to fix HSDPA - this cuased a comflict with the current version of the ROM.
Apparently, if you disabled HSDPA things are better.
That's a workaround until jj releases a fixed ROM a bit later on.

try turn to landscape will be better but still need wait for new one..

most issues has been already resolved on www.4winmobile.com . if you need help, go to jasjamming forum and ask there. it was his request, and he did not answering question on two places. bye.

No. For you maybe, but on my 8525 it's fast as hell and haven't had ANY problems or this "hang" problem either. The ROM is awesome!

I've run the rom also...I'm having no problems either. I experienced a hang during the install but after that I've been smooth and I'm HSDPA.

I tried it but it still doesn't work, previously i installed official wm5.0 rom / qtek 2.11.255.2. It works quite well and stable. Do anyone have idea how to fix the bug?

Seriously, there is a Hermes fans chatting room. In the chatting room, it is complainted as well that they got same experience as me. There is one similarity that we performed complete flash using Qtek 2.11.255.2 before updating to Black Shadow (4.0). I am thinking if there are conflictions between Black Shadow and Qtek latest WM5.0 ROM. However, we don't experience such bugs using Black Diamond which i regarded it as more stable one and faster than Shadow and some other cooked roms. Unfortunately, i can't access 4winmobile.com and can't comment this to JJ.
Should JJ read this may he give us a solution.
Anyhow, thanks for his great works and best regards.

your best bet then would be to post at 4winmobile than here as that is where he supports it.

Hi, i just downloaded and tried the shadow.rar. After flashed it is still the same, can't start properly. Is it possible because of Radio? Someone with radio 1.38 told me his phone working well. By the way, i installed CE-star.

ey, works great for me with 1.38 right now...so seems your issues aren't related to Radio version.
Try without CE-star (perhaps not compatible), and post results.

I find it thoroughly ammusing! all these posts dissing the rom creator and booing if the f**k up the install or the rom isn't perfect! when will you guys realise that we are in the thick of beta land! everything is a gamble! you don't put your head in the ovan just because someone else did and got away with it!
i'm pretty new to this rom business and only tried a few. I *****ed once but then came to my stark realisation. IT'S ALWAYS A GAMBLE! read the notes that come with the rom!
these guys are clued up enough to work at M$ (or Apple. imagine mobile OSX on a tytn!).
I think you guys need to chill and take it as it comes! that's the deal!

I have to ask what is in store in your new ROM 02 Premier Plus?? Is there a time scale for its' release yet?
I have tried all the ROMS that come and go on these boards and am still very pleased with Artemis Touch 1.0 WWE - Full, I think it is the most stable ROM so far...
Can you spill the beans on your plans...

It will be released over the weekend - final testing now.
Includes updated audiomanager (same skin) but now plays when in standby mode.
Most of the apps are included from artemis touch full including hbutton setup, notem,1 calc lite, tpcmp, xnview pcm keyboard....
The ability to add cube by cab if required (blue design)
Still has 51mb total storage memory and 27mb free program memory after soft reset.
It runs as well as standard version

It will be ROM without the cube in default ? And cube will be only separately installable option (cab) ?
From my point of view, it is very good idea !! Cube is nice toy, it is good to amaze friends, but I guess that most of people dont use it. I dont need any cube when I have HTC home ...

I eagerly await this new rom as your original is my keeper at the moment. A question, you say you are including the CM Keyboard but is the HTC Phonepad staying? For me this is far better for texting and was something I had been wanting scince getting this phone but just couldnt find an app anywhere until I tried your rom (my first), CMKeyboard is very good but still needs some care when using on the move. If not remaining perhaps you can let me know where to get.
Be good to see the new rom, just dont give up life to meet your publics demands

Heres the htc touch phone pad.
Also i would like to see this rom without touchflo as i read some people including me can't get it to work properly.
other than that this first version rocks big style. i prefered the mms/sms all in one also (i know some dont agree with me but hey, personal prefs)

Last few days - being bed ridden - had all the opportunity to install, re-install and re-re-reinstall all the roms circulating...I finally settled on the O2 Premium ROM - not because - I am not a fan of Tom's - His ROM was fantastic - the Artemis too was superb ! but my preferences lies in the fact that - if I dont use something - no point having on the phone.
My 2 cents on new ROM;s that come up -
The Lite version along with the reduced apps - should also exclude the Cube ! - I have been using the Toms 4.0 for ages and realized that I had next to never used the Cube. The HTC Home page suffices more than ever on that is required instantly.
Secondly - Apps like Acrobat Reader LE - should also be left out - to be installed based on individual preferences - it is 1.38MB in size and can be run from the storage card - so I see no reason to have it on the main memory !
All said and done - I think the ROM's provided by Mark and Tom are great and I applaud their efforts.
The Orbit/Artemis/Dopod - would'nt be the same without their efforts and the support of all their collegues.

Same here. Love it so far !! Especially the MENU button with the shortcut to SMS !! I have an O2-SMS Flatrate and need quick access to sms
Pretty fast ROM. I am very happy with it.
Changed the DialerButtons though.

You're O2 ROM is my favorite and it's staying on my phone. I would like the audio manager to play in sleep mode, but I just spent 2 days configuring my phone to my liking. Is there a registry edit to make the audio player play in suspend mode or is this somthing that requires the new ROM? If not, I'll live with WMP for now. Excellent ROM man!

thats not true, i am using this rom all day long and it is actualy super, it is very light and at the same time it has every thing i need.
so people, no bugs at all.
it is super fast with alot of free memory in the storage

I can second that - remember to hard reset!
However - you have to life with the not working SSmaPa (as for most HD Roms). But the rest is fine.

well as i said, it has every thing i need, i dont use to much third party apps, but even if i wanted to use, then u have a lot of options to use, in stead of ssmapa, i could use vj`s application for replacing the default calendar or something similar.
after all, every single rom in here has a bug or two.
there is no perfect rom, even the official htc releases have bugs

some small bugs and speed could be better, but is not that bad.

i have never used ttmax´s roms, this is the first one, and i must say i really LOVE IT
but these words "is not that bad" is very rude from you.
have u ever tried to make a rom?
and than comes some one and tells to your very hard work (witch you dont get paid for that, he shares to every one) its not that bad. i am 100 percent sure u didnt even try this rom,

No Internet over 3G
Hi there,
First, thanks for this great ROM. Its running smooth and fast on my diamond.
But there is one little issue I have.
It doesn't connect to the Internet over 3G. (no mails, no weather updates) Everything works flawlessly over WiFi.
I did a hard-reset after flashing. Actually, I think the automatic "Network Setup" that comes up after running for the first time didn't come up. How could I run this manually?
Other services from my network (Orange CH Switzerland) are working OK (SMS etc)
Any Idea how I could solve this and what causes it?

Already has been. Josh Koss has a 6.5 hybrid as well as Tai_sw. Both of which seem REALLY stable...

Looks like Josh is up to WM 6.5 Test 4. I might wait a bit longer till he gets a stable build out.
Can't understand which Mobile 6.5 of TAI_Sw's to download??? Prefer Lite ROMs as they run faster.

Ive been running Tai_sw's non ui rom 21139, very stable. Josh's v4 is also very stable. DIfferent Ui than normal today screen. If you don't have too many extra apps installed would suggest trying. V4 has been out for about a week already.

yep it's not production like direct from htc or anything it's very beta and provided from beta sources.. but we're doing the best with what we got

Hey Josh, been using the 6.5 for a while now, a little diff to get used to but runs very smooth, 1 thought though, would there be a way to split the honeycomb interface into panels that would slide sideways.....ie, the first panel might show the tools icon, file expl icon etc, then the next panel might have the display settings icon and messeging icon, etc.... it could slide up or down or sidways, would not really matter...........just a thought, might involve too much programming, but would navigate much easier than the current flick mode, thanks for any thoughts

One question though: why does it say 6.5_test3.7z? You stated that test6 is under way?

Once again I have to mention that I'm not sure which test version this is, but anyways here's what I got so far:
1. The screen is going off for no apparent reason.
2. It's very slow when opening menus. (takes like 4-5secs to open)
wow all the content from the start menu just went on a vacation, nothing's there
and now it's dead! tried almost everything it just wont work.
sorry that I can't give U more info, I'm going back to a stable rom!
Hope to see a more stable test version and I'll give it a another run.

stock/untouched means CLEAN ROM!
clean means w/o additional apps maybe in stock rom included aps removed like java games(?)
but i think there will be a clean rom =)
BTT: do you want clean rom with HTC COMMANAGER or w/o?

I also like the clean ROM, and if possible just provide the download links for the apps

Pls notice, that application inside rom are compressed and takes less space than installed after.So this way can provide more free space for usage by including them into rom.
Sure Opera, Office and many others can be downloaded later, cos anyway they will be updated after some time.As for me i dont like Opera.

I agree but for bigger apps only. I prefer that small important tweaks and utilities such as notifblinker, nullKB, htcCommMngr, etc should stay.

Is it possible to unbind both left and right Hardware softkeys so that they will become available in the systems button mapping? I hate AEButtonsPlus because it has slight delay in execution.

Sorry guys, Im not playing with your patience. But Im running of time for working on ROMs this week. As far as I have it Il go on..
