Already has been. Josh Koss has a 6.5 hybrid as well as Tai_sw. Both of which seem REALLY stable...

Looks like Josh is up to WM 6.5 Test 4. I might wait a bit longer till he gets a stable build out.
Can't understand which Mobile 6.5 of TAI_Sw's to download??? Prefer Lite ROMs as they run faster.
Ive been running Tai_sw's non ui rom 21139, very stable. Josh's v4 is also very stable. DIfferent Ui than normal today screen. If you don't have too many extra apps installed would suggest trying. V4 has been out for about a week already.

yep it's not production like direct from htc or anything it's very beta and provided from beta sources.. but we're doing the best with what we got

Hey Josh, been using the 6.5 for a while now, a little diff to get used to but runs very smooth, 1 thought though, would there be a way to split the honeycomb interface into panels that would slide sideways.....ie, the first panel might show the tools icon, file expl icon etc, then the next panel might have the display settings icon and messeging icon, etc.... it could slide up or down or sidways, would not really matter...........just a thought, might involve too much programming, but would navigate much easier than the current flick mode, thanks for any thoughts

One question though: why does it say 6.5_test3.7z? You stated that test6 is under way?
Results:
Once again I have to mention that I'm not sure which test version this is, but anyways here's what I got so far:
1. The screen is going off for no apparent reason.
2. It's very slow when opening menus. (takes like 4-5secs to open)
wow all the content from the start menu just went on a vacation, nothing's there
and now it's dead! tried almost everything it just wont work.
sorry that I can't give U more info, I'm going back to a stable rom!
Hope to see a more stable test version and I'll give it a another run.

I've tried Josh's V15 Manilla2D Rom, and while I love it, it leaves very little room for extra storage and programs.
What's the consensus about other Manilla2D roms out there? Which have the smallest footprint?

M2D_Light_Test.7z is the manilla2d test, and it's stable as hell man!
edit: oh and just so you know, a suggestion is, if you have a question per say on a certain rom, try posting on that thread instead of opening new threads..

Lots of memory, I can install what I want, and comes prebuilt with Manilla2D.
There are however some problems with it... which is why I guess, it's not a released version.

Does the m2d interface work fully for you?
I can't add any contacts to the People widget, the weather widget won't let me add a location, the program launches won't let me add programs to it...

i've had success in those yes.. thats really odd.. i'll update it tonight with a new build hopefully.. i'm gonna have some free time after work tonight to do that.

I have the same issues Also i tested after putting rom back to o2 default and installing yours, running on o2 hermes 100, i also lost signal on it. Not sure why there. Had to go back to old one i was using.

Nowhere. There is no original
windows mobile 6.5 is a beta so it doesnt have an offical release some chefs have been using the builds of it in their roms so the only way to get it at the moment is to use a cooked rom that is running 6.5
But, if you find it then let xda know

im considering making a more stock like 6.5 rom if anyones interested. this isnt the first thread ive seen asking for one. ill only include stock dialers comm managers and the deafault programs. nothing added or removed

yer could be a good idea, i think there are quite a few people who want stock wm6/6.5 so a very close one would be excellent

well in that case ill get started on one
finished. ill upload tomorrow when i dont have to sleep. i have work first thing in the morning but at least it give me more time to test it a bit. it has no compression the standard dialer and a more standard comm manager and no added anything. its a nice clean base to start with but ill update it with newer builds as and when they get released until we get hold of the real thing or as i find out more about whats included and not in the official just still be aware this is still a custom rom and all ive done is just remove all the random crap we add to them and gone back to the basics

I just built one with the 23028 sys. I havent released yet because I'm trying to get GPS working.
As for help, check out ali3nfr3ak's thread on ppcgeeks Vogue section. Thats where I got it all setup

Personally I used it on a touch pro its still very much in beta and very buggy/unusable. Believe me when I say its not worth it. I was considering slapping rom together using the new "23034" build just to play with it thou

Weird, I've been using a 23028 build on my Touch and it is one of the fastest ROMs I've ever used and has no bugs (there is one issue with the OK and X button graphics), is fully usable, and stables. In fact, many of the big WM sites have said 23028 and 23034 are some of the fastest ROMs out there.
Maybe you got a buggy/bad one, or it was bogged down with additional stuff from the Chef.
I did find a couple of roms w 23028 here and over at ppcgeaks. I tested them all out and yes they were all pretty fast but with all the bars and menus being so big they just got in the way and block a lot of stuff. I will try to find the links to the roms I have tried and post them here so others who would like to try for themselves can do so. if you guys could to that would be great. thanks everybody

This is true. With the menu bars reworked, and the resizing of certain elements, some apps do not work correctly.

Few suggestions:
* WiFi symbol like the wireless connectivity icon on 7 (Not sure how best to demonstrate the bars of signal though, maybe the waves that come out of it?)
* Similarly, 3g/EDGE have the picture of two computers with the globe, lighting each one up for send/receive
* Muted and battery icons
Only suggestions, re-reading those, most would be a pain to implement I'm sure .
Love the dialer too

stock/untouched means CLEAN ROM!
clean means w/o additional apps maybe in stock rom included aps removed like java games(?)
but i think there will be a clean rom =)
BTT: do you want clean rom with HTC COMMANAGER or w/o?

Pls notice, that application inside rom are compressed and takes less space than installed after.So this way can provide more free space for usage by including them into rom.
Sure Opera, Office and many others can be downloaded later, cos anyway they will be updated after some time.As for me i dont like Opera.

I agree but for bigger apps only. I prefer that small important tweaks and utilities such as notifblinker, nullKB, htcCommMngr, etc should stay.

Is it possible to unbind both left and right Hardware softkeys so that they will become available in the systems button mapping? I hate AEButtonsPlus because it has slight delay in execution.
