I just upgrade my dash with wm6.1. please let me know how do i export all my our contact to my mobile
Install the Active Sync if you have Windows XP or Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) if you have Vista from the following link.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/activesync45.mspx
Once installed connect your phone to your computer. Active Sync will detect phone and will show a green icon in the bottom right in your taskbar next to time.
Once sync'd up if will prompt you a message box with Sync options. You can select address book and whatever you want to sync from your computer. (Contact, Faviourites, Notes, Tasks etc..)
It should update all information to your phone. (Experment the active sync menu and you will understand yourself)
Hope it helps!
i tried this and was able to get the numbers to copy into outlook but i cant update the contacts on the phone when i make changes to the contacts in outlook. i keep getting a sync error. can you please help with this problem??
Today I faced the same issue. I deleted my phone contacts and active sync didn't want to put them back from outlook.
I delete my devices from active sync and when I conected the phone everything worked just fine. The wizard appears.

I have upgraded to mUn_2.00.SE_WWE_GPS and everything seems fine apart from the orange voicemail bug mentioned in another post.
Messenger synchronized my msn contacts onto the phone so I had 2 of each which was fine as I have all ready read about this issue.
So I updated the msn ones and started to remove the original ones from the phone.. They have a different icon
All appeared fine. It would tell me when my contacts were on line etc etc.
I then went to outlook and made sure there were no contacts in there so I could have a fresh updated list of contacts when it synced.
However these contacts will not synced. I created a test one in outlook and that synced fine to my phone. Am I missing something here??
All I want to have is the same contacts on my phone/windows live and outlook. Surely this can be achieved??
Are you using ActiveSync 4.5 already...? I suspect that might have got something to do with your issue
Do you get any error-messages at all ? Giving us some more clues....?
And very important: what version of Outlook do you run ?
more info, hope you can help now
I have it synced with 2 machine and neither work.
1 is windows XP with active sync 4.5 and outlook 2003 the 2nd is vista with the mobile device center and office 2007.
I can sync normal contacts created on the phone or in outlook it is just the ones imported from live messenger that will not copy back to my outlook contacts.
I have a feeling the phone does not recogonise these as contacts as they have a different icon from ones created on the phone. It looks like a grey folder rather than the little address card.
Please help
Hmmmzz....actually this is very interesting; i didn't dare using Live Messenger up until now just BECAUSE of the syncing of ALL messenger contacts into Outlook. Now that you report that it doesn't, the question raises if M$ has meant this to be...
Then again; did you check the settings under Windows-Live (on your Trinity)? You can go to 'options' with the right soft-key, and there are 6 setting menu's there, where you need option 2 to check the box in front of 'Contacts and Messenger'
Let me know if that worked for you...
contacts sync'd to phone but not outlook
what has happened is all the msn contacts have sync'd to the phone but not to outlook.... any ideas why
update
on the menu. select what you want to sync both contacts and messenger and merge duplicates with outlook are ticked

ActiveSync BOOSTER

Also want to know after we sync Phone
It keeps repeating to sync, is there a way to stop it ?
With removing the phone
Please Help
contacts are NOT merged, but only show up in 1 list
contacts are NOT merged, but only show up in 1 list.
sim contacts
outlook contacts
msn contacts
are shown whithin the same contact browser but are not really merged.
Each contact type only syncs with it`s proper sourec, pocket outlook wit desktop outlook, msn with msn (or say "live"), and SIM contacts with SIM-import-export programs.
that's all and that's ok.
the real issue is that i find "show SIM-contacts merged yes/no" but cannot find "show msn contacts merged yes/no".
it sucks, but not really too much.

however, i only have an hotmail email account, how do y sinc this with outlook and my pro2?

Oh, man. I see you're a total newcomer, welcome to the Windows Mobile world! Your phone will look like complicated at first, but after a couple weeks playing with it, you should be able to start harnessing it's power.
Pocket Outlook is integrated on your phone. The contact tab, calendar, tasks, etc IS pocket Outlook itself.
In order to sync your contacts with windows, you need to have the syncing software installed. It's on your phone's CD. If not, then you can get it from Microsoft:
Windows XP and earlier, use Activesync.
Windows Vista, Seven, use Windows Mobile Device Center.
After the syncing software is installed, just plug in your phone, select activesync, and follow the instructions on-screen.
To sync your hotmail account directly to your phone, you can use Windows Live (add it to the program tabs) and then sign-in. If you want it directly in outlook PC, then search for the Outlook Connector.
For hotmail; go to the TF3D--> Settings--> email setup menu and enter your details as prompted; it will automatically create a hotmail connection file for you
I need help, I recently installed Windows 7 Professional on my desktop Pc. I then installed Windows Mobile Device Center and Microsoft Outlook so I can sync/backup my contacts. Well now when I try to sync my phone Windows Mobile Device Center gets an error. I tried to sync it with my laptop that is running Vista Ultimate and i get the same thing. I think I probably need to hard reset my phone but I can't because I don't have a backup of my contacts since I reformatted my desktop pc. Anyone know what the problem could be with my phone that's causing it not to sync? Or what is another useful tool to backup contacts. I have Microsoft My phone and it won't let me backup contacts cuz I already have it set to backup thru Outlook.
Are you running Outlook 2010 on a 64 bit operating system by chance? If so, the Mobile Device Center won't work. I was searching about this all morning.
D.
No i'm running Outlook 2007. I think it has something to do with the phone cuz I'm unable to sync it with Vista or Windows 7
Have you a gmail account?
If so set it up with Exchange to sync your contacts and calendar, then you can reset the phone
i have the exact same problem!
besides that, i see that when i sync, Office 2007 (and WMDC 6.1 on Windows 7) takes the contacts i have in hotmail, and the contacts i previously had on my phone, and adds them all together, and then syncs them to my phone.. this is killing me, everything i sync my phone i have a bunch of unsorted and unwanted email addresses in my "contacts" in the phone.
any solution for this? before i used to sync contacts with no problem, in Office i even had a seperate group for hotmail contacts and just my phone contacts.. now its only 1 group together, any idea how to separete them??
Hi there,
I used to have a windows mobile 6.5 device. I sychronised over the air with exchange for work, contacts, calendar, email and notes and then at home via activesync and usb cable between the same phone and my home pc.
This meant that my phone, home and work machines had calendar and contacts in sync.
I have purchased a new Windows Phone 7 device.
For home I have configured the home outlook to sync with windows live. I have set the phone up to sycn with both windows live and with my work exchange account.
On my phone I can see contacts from either source (work exchange or home outlook) However this is displayed as being from the source accounts and will not merge/sync through to the other account.
I would like to (and used to be able to with 6.5) for example add a new contact in outlook, have it then sync to windows live (working) then sync to phone (working) then sync to exchange (not syncing contacts added elsewhere back to exchange). I would also like to be able to do the oposite (add something to exchange account and have it appear on home account via syncs.
Does anyone have some ideas, suggestions, solutions?
Please feel free to ask questions if I have not been clear.
from what i can see, you can link contacts but not merge them completely.
the only way i've been able to do it is to edit the contact details and save them to the appropriate account...but i wouldn't do it for all my contacts..
best bet would be to do it on the computer. can't you sync outlook to your work exchange and then sync your phone to outlook?
Hey there,
thanks for the response. unfortunately i can't sync home outlook direct to exchange, we have ip security for access.
It used to work a treat under win mo 6.5 this is a real backward step.
Any other ideas greatly appreciated.
Trying to sync Contacts and Calendar with Outlook, but it fails with the following error: Unable to sync. Please reconnect your device. [1016]. I must point out that I can sync anything else like music, videos, pictures and bookmarks, but not contacts and calendar. Sync completes normally if those are not included. Here's the system info:
OS: Win 8 64-bit
HSM version: 2.0.52.0
Outlook version: 2013 64-bit
I'm assuming that the problem is with the running of the 64-bit version of Outlook (the same as in iTunes), although the HTC web site is stating that the 64-bit version of the Outlook is supported.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
The SYNC function doesnt fail on my machine, but I cannot get items to SYNC both ways.
If I add a callender item in Outlook this will SYNC to my HTC, but doesnt work in the other direction.
Contacts are not SYNC'ing at all

I was looking for a different fix for a different error but came across to this. Are those items you are adding on your "phone" calendar? When you add or edit a contact or calendar event and task, it has a drop down menu and if it's on "google" or "hotmail/live" or any other calendars they wont sync to your computer. I also have exchange/activesync with work and it is nice having acess to all of the calendars but choosing what you edit at each time is important.

I have exactly the same issue, gave up on it a couple of months ago.
Sent from...... The Milky Way
I was having the same issue with my HTC One and had given up trying to get it to work. Then tonight I was dealing with another issue with Outlook and in fixing that suddenly HTC Sync Manager will sync my calendar and contacts with Outlook.
What I did was go to the Outlook.exe and right click, select Properties>Compatibility tab and unchecked "Run this program as an administrator". That fixed my other issue with Outlook and now HTC Sync Manager works fine as well. Hope that helps someone else.
