Hi Everyone,
My touch is crappin out on me, so I need to go and get it replaced. I use NSFAN's rom, so I need to get an OEM rom, does anyone know where I can get one?
here u go
http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=76&cat=2&dl_id=66

You won't be downgrading. That's the latest ROM for the Touch.
well if NFSMAN's rom is giving you problems, u can install original one then try another custom rom. its pretty safe to do it.

From personal experience..
Only flashing an older boot-loader if coming from the more recent one, that will brick your device..
Dont quote me on that.. But im pretty sure thats the case

Sounds about right..
There a a few roms that I'd like to try for my T999L, but I wont mess with my bootloader..
I dont want anything to do with Knox. Even though you can install a 4.3 rom with out it..
The Bootloader still contains remnants of Knox..
Miui v5, looks like a 4.2 rom.
I dont see a problem.. Make a Nandroid first.. Then do a factory wipe, and give it a try..
if it doesnt work.. you can always go back..

I've tried to flash it and i keep getting assert failed error. I looked at the built prop in the log on TWRP and it list all the bootloaders but MK4. So i'm assuming its because of the bootloader it won't let me flash. Even though it says d2tmolte is supported

Sounds like the Rom your flashing isnt meant for your Carrier/Device..
Just to be sure.. Id check to see if you have the most recent version of TWRP installed..

I doubt its the phone...
Im a semi novice on this phone.. I fare better with Nexus devices..
Im sure your just missing a step.. If your phone is working put it off, and wait until someone with more experience might be able to help..
If your getting an Error 7, that is likely due to the Update Script which TWRP looks at before any kind of flash, its mainly to protect people from flashing the wrong things on their devices.. Its saved my ass a couple of times..
Find the original thread for that Rom..
and post your question there..

no am runing official update Rom,Rooted , i deleted almost all stock app.
but i read some kerney may fix it.
Do you have a custom recovery installed? That would be the easiest way to flash the kernel.

yes i have cwm..
In that case, you could look here for a replacement kernel or ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/development
Make sure you create a backup first. Good luck.

No problem. We're all here to help.
Just remember, you cannot load a stock ROM anymore since you have the 4.3 bootloader.
Hi im not a total noob but I have never updated my phone as was looking for the simplest way to do so. I also have a few questions for when ive done so. Im currently on 4.4.2 rooted soff and have been advised to update so I can get a working kexec so I can install multirom properly.
will I need to reroot and unlock bootloader after?
Is there a risk of bricking.
thanks.

Sir if you were in rooted condition and gladly also in S-OFF, you're free to do anything , i mean rather than fallback to stock, just flash any custom rom you want but also flash it's correlated firmware.
Thank You

Thanks for the reply the reason I was staying on stock is becouse I don't know what Rom to use to suit my needs thats why I was going to try multrom so I can test a few. And keep all my apps and contacts till I change over.
Can anyone add anything further?

If I'm you, I rather update my device to 4.4.4 first as you're running the older firmware so all you can enjoy is simply CM based rom whereas the lastest GPE and sense based rom may not work properly since you're still using the older firmware.
Is it better for me to return to stock update everything and reroot rather than updateing Rom and firmware seperately

Easier way is to restore back to stock and do the OTA than root if need but I don't. I flash a custom recovery and make a nandroid backup and flashing straight! skipping root

The easiest way is to get s off, then go superCID
You download the firmware zip, rename it to 0P6BIMG.zip. Put that on your extCSD and boot into hboot.
That's it. Your phone does the rest.
You can read more about it here.

Do you have s-off?
Or the simplest and fool proof method. Grab your nandroid backup (found in general section) and restore the backup and flash your stock recovery. After which please do a factory reset and try to search for OTA. It'll appear

Use a RUU will be easier for you. But beware, everything inside your device will be clean. So do backup your pictures and etc to your com before you use it.

I understand you not wanting to mess your phone. It is always best not to proceed if you are unsure.
I'm not sure what carrier you are on, but for the normal international model, you will want to download this firmware to use in the method I explained.
Some American carriers have different firmware, so if you on an American carrier, let me know which one and I will provide you with the proper download to update to 4.4.4
The best thing about this method over an RUU is that you won't lose any data.

Hi thanks for the help its appreciated. I have the UK and carrier is O2. Just so I'm clear after fw update all I need to do is update to a 4.4.4 rom? I do have HTC backup and a full tarp backup is that sufficient to restore my phone after thanks again.

Yep, that's right. The HTC backup I wouldn't worry about. They aren't as good as TWPR's. Flash the firmware from the link I provided, then install a 4.4.4 ROM.

I am bootloader unlocked, s off, and rooted running candysix custom rom wanting to just either upgrade to nougate or even just another mm rom like venom but everytime i flash another rom it says it works but everytime when i reboot it starts up right back into the bootloader screen insteaf og the new rom forcing me to do a recover and start again. Im doing a clean flash and even tried a dirty flash and nothing. Im sorry if im overlooking something basic im sure i am because its not my first custom rom install but i cant figure out whats wrong. Should i flash a custom kernel too? I thought the roms would have that baked in? Please help! Thank u in advance
