no am runing official update Rom,Rooted , i deleted almost all stock app.
but i read some kerney may fix it.

Do you have a custom recovery installed? That would be the easiest way to flash the kernel.

yes i have cwm..

In that case, you could look here for a replacement kernel or ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/development
Make sure you create a backup first. Good luck.

No problem. We're all here to help.
Just remember, you cannot load a stock ROM anymore since you have the 4.3 bootloader.

Is it possible?

Is it possible for us to download a stock rom (my country is I8150ZSLD1)
And make it cwm flashable? like:
get a stock ROM
Don't mod it
don't root it
don't touch it
only make it clockworkmod flashable
then flash in cwm
then flash back to stock recovery
is it usable?

I think so, because when we flashed a stock ROM, our phone will be just like the first day we got it (no root no mod etc), but you may lost your CWM, did I answer your question?
ps sorry my English is not that good so maybe I had misunderstood your question
I wanna know too. :good:
Yes it is. Just make a custom rom, BUT.. without touching anything.

nvm as long as we understand it's okay
i mean making a rom like a custom one, but touching nth, then use clockworkmod to flash, not odin, so clockworkmod will be here too. then use odin to flash back to the stock recovery. now i have my warranty back lol
p.s. is it possible for anyone to help me make it? thanks!!!!!
Well you could Flash a new Stock Rom via. Odin, Root and Install CWM; make a backup of the non touched Stock Rom.
This way you flash a Stock Rom, not using Odin.
Think that will work, too..?

Of course I know... but no one wants to increase the count in your download mode right?
I have a stock rom on my SD card but it is messed up. Like. Cannot play music and Samsung can know it. So I want a clean stock rom. But doesn't need to increase the number
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
yes it was possible
just need to use the kitchen , extract all the stock module and create a flashable rom
dont touch anything

[Q] So I want to unroot, but don't not re-lock the phone...

what im trying to do is go back to stock so i can upgrade to 4.2
then i want to re-root and get the latest ROM.
any way to do this? if i use titanium backup now, prior to unrooting, can i get my apps/info back?
toolkit the easiest method?
1. Download the 4.2.2 factory image
2. Flash it
3. Done
Obviously backup your data before as it'll get wiped

Of course you can, it resets everything back to a factory state. Just make sure you backup your data add it'll go once the image has been flashed

No. Google how to flash the Nexus to stock or read the sticky thread on it in this very section. It's nothing to do with CWM
You do know you can just flash a new ROM now don't you? If you wanna try 4.2 just download one and of u go...

so say i want to flash bugless beast or paranoid android...can i use the latest version of those ROMs without being on 4.2?
thanks again. and sorry if thats an obvious question.

What do you think happens when you flash a ROM? Why would you need to install a stock ROM just so it can be completely wiped with a custom ROM install?
There is zero need to install stock 4.2 first. That's just a silly way to think.

the thing that confuses me is i think i saw certain ROMs (bugless beast comes to mind) that says use this ROM if you're on 4.2, use THIS one if you're on 4.1, etc.
got a link? because there should be no reason at all to be on 4.2 to flash 4.2.....unless he doesnt include kernels

Well if he's planning to install a custom AOSP-based ROM then flashing a root package isn't required... correct me if I'm wrong.

CWM is overwritten with stock recovery by the stock ROM. So if you don't have stock ROM it's kinda useless...
After flashing a custom ROM, all that's left unmodified on the device is just the bootloader... I don't think a bootloader can overwrite CWM to a stock recovery.

Is there a flashable Modem for the T3 SM-T217S? I'm having WIFI[not activating] issues after installing custom Rom. It just refuses to turn and I can't seem to find any solution other than going back to non-rooted stock.

easyest way to update

Hi im not a total noob but I have never updated my phone as was looking for the simplest way to do so. I also have a few questions for when ive done so. Im currently on 4.4.2 rooted soff and have been advised to update so I can get a working kexec so I can install multirom properly.
will I need to reroot and unlock bootloader after?
Is there a risk of bricking.
thanks.

Sir if you were in rooted condition and gladly also in S-OFF, you're free to do anything , i mean rather than fallback to stock, just flash any custom rom you want but also flash it's correlated firmware.
Thank You

Thanks for the reply the reason I was staying on stock is becouse I don't know what Rom to use to suit my needs thats why I was going to try multrom so I can test a few. And keep all my apps and contacts till I change over.
Can anyone add anything further?

If I'm you, I rather update my device to 4.4.4 first as you're running the older firmware so all you can enjoy is simply CM based rom whereas the lastest GPE and sense based rom may not work properly since you're still using the older firmware.
Is it better for me to return to stock update everything and reroot rather than updateing Rom and firmware seperately

Easier way is to restore back to stock and do the OTA than root if need but I don't. I flash a custom recovery and make a nandroid backup and flashing straight! skipping root

The easiest way is to get s off, then go superCID
You download the firmware zip, rename it to 0P6BIMG.zip. Put that on your extCSD and boot into hboot.
That's it. Your phone does the rest.
You can read more about it here.

Do you have s-off?
Or the simplest and fool proof method. Grab your nandroid backup (found in general section) and restore the backup and flash your stock recovery. After which please do a factory reset and try to search for OTA. It'll appear

Use a RUU will be easier for you. But beware, everything inside your device will be clean. So do backup your pictures and etc to your com before you use it.

I understand you not wanting to mess your phone. It is always best not to proceed if you are unsure.
I'm not sure what carrier you are on, but for the normal international model, you will want to download this firmware to use in the method I explained.
Some American carriers have different firmware, so if you on an American carrier, let me know which one and I will provide you with the proper download to update to 4.4.4
The best thing about this method over an RUU is that you won't lose any data.
