OpenVPN for HTC Touch HD (Blackstone) - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hello,
I am trying to get OpenVPN working on my HTC touch HD, but I'm having a lot of problems.
Since there isn't the systray because of TF3D, I have to launch the ovpncmgr manually.
Sometimes it launches, sometimes it doesn't...
When I suceed launching it, the program crashes when I try to set up the VPN connexion.
Could someone help me please ?
Thanks

I solved my problem myself, you must deactivate TF3D to see the systray.
The you can use openVPN, it works through my operator proxy like a charm !

Thanks for sharing that with us

Hi Devjr ,
I also make it work, deactivating TF3D.
But have you managed to route all the connections using the VPN ?
I mean I can't use for example remote desktop through it,
It tries to make the connection without using the VPN

I've just tested Remote Desktop over OpenVPN on a Touch HD, and it worked fine. I've also tested PuTTY to another machine on the LAN, and that works fine too.

Remote Desktop

Just wondering if there is a step by step guide for using remote desktop to control my laptop running vista. I'm currently running black dymond on my hermes and have vista home premium on laptop. I've had a search around and cant find the info i'm after.
Cheers
COTT
You need to configure remote desktop on the vista machine, add users which are allowed to access and then connect with the mobile. you may also need to configure your wifi as "the internet" if you plan to connect using the vista machine ip address. If you want to connect using computername, you need to configure your mobile connection as "work". Basically, any addres with an dot is considered " the internet" (although you can make exceptions).
Good luck !
cheers diem, can it work over 3g/umts?
hmm ..should if your station supports access from the internet ? Can't say anything about speeds or how RDP acts with lower bandwidth
Works fine over 3G and also over EDGE.
But I found www.logmein.com to work better for me (Free version).
z2software.com is the best of remote access software, but currently it won't allow you to unlock remote computer. So I unlock with logmein.com then connect with z2software - nothing comes even close to their idea of handy buttons around the screen, file transfer also works great (just ctrl-C or Shift-Insert in the file on remote machine, then you download that file with one click to any location on PDA). I use it everyday over 3G/EDGE.
Hope it helps.

VPN over WIFI

Hello All!
I have a problem:
- need to connect to VPN through WIFI.
I'm running WM5 AKU3.5 Rom, UNI \ Qtek 9000.
With the built-in VPN client I CAN connect to VPN, but the first request to internet (via browser or Messaging send-receive) - drops my VPN connection, as it described here in the forum (Networking).
I tried 3-rd party software so far:
1. BlueFire VPN - just can't connect.
2. Antha VPN - just doesn't work.
Any solution so far?
Did anybody succeed with it?
Thank you very much for your answers!

** Let me describe in more detail:
In my case- this is a public WIFI internet provider, which has a wifi coverage in the city: GoldenWiFi.
Wifi is open PPTP. I need to type in a login \ pass on the web page I get, to start using the internet in current wifi session.
The ALTERNATIVE way to conect to internet - is to establish a VPN connection over the wifi.
I can successfully do in on the laptop, but not with my UNI.
WM5 has some bugs in PPTP implementation and there are problems connecting to VPN servers other than Microsoft ISA. I've spend couple of hours trying to connect my universal to poptop (linux pptp server which is quite popular) and it was imposible using mschap-v2 (which is required for security reasons). WinXP stations are connecting fine to the same VPN server. Poptop is included in many linux embedded devices (access points, wireless routers) and I think that this is your problem.
What version of bluefire did u use, I tried a nwe one which didn't work, but I got an old trial version that still works (most of the time)

I used v. 2.7.2.558
Thank you for your reply.
I use anthaVPN-7.5-STD-Cisco-wm2005.exe, and in "settings/connections/advanced" selected both networks to be "work network".
Everything works fine.
I sent u a pm about bluefire

may be a silly question - but what is RDP?
Windows Remote Deskop Connection Mobile.
Working RDP cab
Here's one that works for me, but it has other problems. Maybe someone can offer a fix?
The keyboard works in this one, but it does not auto dial a network connection. You'll have to go through many screens to start a network and/or a vpn connection before you can connect, unlike in PIE where you type in the address and it dials and/or starts up a vpn connection.
Also, if pushmail is on, it can interrupt the rdp connection, so it can get annoying when you're in the middle of something and it cuts out for no reason.

HTC P4351 and RDP

Hi All,
I hope I got this in the right place.
I just bought a new HTC P4351 with WM6(5.2.1622 build 18128.0.4.4) and installed Finster869 WM6_RDP. What I'm wanting to do is connect to my VPN SSL, which I can do fine, and use Remote Desktop to my PC at work to run apps I need to unlock accounts, reset passwords etc.
As I said connecting to my SSL seems to be fine but when I try to run Remote Desktop to connect to my PC I get the connecting... then Cannot Connect likely reasons. 1. Remote computer not setup. 2. Maximum number of connection. 3. Network error. Now I can use my home PC and it works fine. It acts as if my Mobile has the RDP ports blocked or something. Any ideas?
Sorry but I'm really new to the mobile setup. I'm not sure where to start to trouble shoot my issue.
Thanks
Try using VNC. it works wonderfully

[Q] TomatoUSB VPN & Desire HD OpenVPN

Hey, i'm wondering if anyone got TomatoUSB VPN & Desire HD OpenVPN working? I've setup several diffrent configs and the problems is pretty much the same, i can connect but cannot access local LAN. Key's and Cert's are done but does anyone know how to configure the rest of it? Tried both TCP/UDP, TAP/TUN etc. But i can't for example connect with cifsmanager to localip/share.
I've tried with LeeDrOiD HD V3.3.3, and Android Revolution HD 6.1.0 (wich i am on now)
If anyone got it to work could you post what settings you have in the router and you client config?
PS: Connecting works from Windows machines with OpenVPN client and the same config(s)
Nvm, for some reason yesterday 'Fix HTC Routes' didn't work, had to restart it, today it worked. Prly fimbled to much with it
