My daughter cracked her LCD on her Dash over the Holiday. I got her the phone used and the housing was pretty crappy I decided also change out the housing since I was pretty much dismantling the phone to get to the LCD. Every was going pretty smoothly until I got to the Damn Jogger. How in blazes do you get that thing off? Is it glued on?
Thanks in advance.
Yes it is. But it comes off pretty easy if you try to pry it off with a sharp screwdriver, right off the main housing It basically "peels off", but IT IS stubborn

Amen Brother!! what you got for me NRGZ28?
You don't need to glue it back on. The sticky backing on it will be good enough to hold it in place. It has two plastic "tongues" on each end that let it snap in place, so the glue is just there for additional safety. Snap it back in to the new housing and you should be fine

I must have not done that great of a job because mine rides a little off the surface toward the bottom of the jogger. If you press on it you can feel it stick and unstick itself from the body.

The prices will probably go down when the global shortage of devices (except in the UK) has been taken care of. Supply and demand, you know.

Hmm question is if its worth it right now to buy one. I mean 20 $.....
Battery Cover from the outside does not show any abnormality and i thought: if it "fits" in it should be pressed in the right position by the other pins and the shape of the notch.
What do you think?
I find the back cover to be the biggest pain in the ass ever to remove and put back on... Anyone know what the correct procedure is to put the cover back on? The bottom looks like it requires some ..sliding... and the rest you need to push in with the cover bent, moving from the bottom and going upward one by one? >.> bleh
...The Droid 3 and Optimus V's covers werent this bad...
I bent the bottom right pin (If you look from the back) now my case doesn't shut properly. I think I'll wait till the price goes down before I buy a replacement though!

the bottom right seems to be the hardest to get in. you have to get it in with bottom two tabs at the same time for everything to fall and snap into place. it can be a pain if you don't know.
I agree the back cover is the only physical issue with the phone.
Make sure the bottom side is nicely in before snapping in the ones on top to avoid breaking the button hooks.
I got sick of the case sticking up at the back so tried to bend the bent pin back, and it worked perfectly!

I had trouble getting the back on with all the pins in place. For me, the right side bottom pin would not go in.
Instead of forcing it, I discovered if I inserted the bottom 2 pins of the back, then starting pushing the side pins in from the bottom and working up, then they all went in without too much trouble.
Good Luck!
I'm trying to find a source on whether I can replace the trim know my phone since it's been dinged from the previous owner as well as myself.
I've found some the link to the replacement screen thread but it doesn't say if the lcd is part of the top or how to get it out? I've seen some oem housings online but not sure if I can remove my lcd which is fine and put it in the newer housing?
Is there glue or adhesive that holds it in?
Thanks for any help.

You just need to unscrew the backplate and exchange it.
No glue no adhesives or something. it just sits there.
It will take about 10 minutes or so..
Here is a picture of the part:
Mine fell out of its place, the last i had the phone opened and i´m to lazy to put it back.
Edit: sorry for that huuuuge picture.. blame our 8mp camera.

Sorry - but I think we have a misunderstanding. I'm talking about the chrome trim around the entire LCD not the camera.
oh.. honestly i don´t think that the part you described is chrome. Atleast not on my GSII
and the thing i posted is the shiny ring around the headphone plug.
OP its not chrome its plastic..
1) replace the whole screen housing with with working parts from say ebay
2) buy a whole SGS2 housing unit and plus top screen ( this option you'll need to remove youe current lcd screen and once replaced in new housing the top screen needs to be bonded to housing. (M3 double sided tape or a thin silcon glue)
3) take it to a service centre
4)keep it as it is..
as par your question
Is there glue or adhesive that holds it in? Yes.
Top screen will need to be heated with hot air to release it from its bond.

The back is held on by tiny spring clips. I used a plastic credit card to slip along the edge, then pry/pop each tab. I think there were 4 or 5 on each side.
Use something thin and plastic so you don't scratch the bezel.

Just use your last name as your company name, and your address is all you need.
I've dropped mine from >1 meter exactly 6 times. Twice when cycling to work. This thing has seen some asphalt but is still working.
Here's a quick and dirty way to fix the back cover:
1. Carefully remove the back cover from it's place. The right way to do this is to push it down towards the bottom of the phone, but to do so you have to first remove the plastic bottom piece. Another way to remove the cover is to slide a screwdriver under it and gently push middle of the cover upwards. This is how I got mine off, I never removed the plastic bottom piece.
2. Fix any clips that are bent, they appear to be quite durable so you should be able to bend them back where they should be without breaking them.
3. Study the closing mechanism. The right way to seat the back cover is to place it few mm lower than it's place and slide up towards the top of the phone. Again, the plastic bottom piece should be off when seating the back cover, if not you'll find that one of the bottom covers clips is sitting on top of the bottom piece instead of under it. Screwdriver and carefully applied force are your best friends when getting that clip to it's right place.
Sorry I can't provide the instructions to do this right. I don't have any idea how to remove the plastic bottom piece.

Good piece of information there. Thanks. My phone is only one day old in my care before the back pinged. A courier is meant to be delivering a new one tomorrow and taking away the old one. No idea, obviously. I don't even know because my wife bought the phone as a new business surprise present, whatever the hell that is...
I'm assuming from one of her dreadful catalogues because it never showed up in my bank statements. I was quite happy with my Nokia and my Galaxy Nexus. She always gets my cast-offs, so maybe she wants the Nexus. LOL.

Sorry - It is all packaged up. Not much to see, just on side and corner lifted a bit from the side. You can see small metal tabs that must clip in, but look rolled over on mine. It may have come like that for all I know.
now im interested on how to remove the plastic bottom part of the phone..
I realise you insert something like a pen into that hole near the corner but case doesn't want to come up.
The first time it came up I felt like I was going to break it as I pulled so I pushed it back down, now it doesn't seem to want to pop up at all.
Edit: Got the corner coming up now but I'm worried about how much force you can use to pull it up.
Edit 2: Done. You don't exactly want to use that kind of force with a brand new phone, but the back cover can take it.
I used that method, now I just use my nail in a corner and pry it off.
Find what? Who the heck is OPPO?

Hello,
I have been loving my 7x but dropped it the other day and shattered the screen. Phone still works fine but I want to fix it, obviously. I am looking for somewhere to get a new screen/digitizer or maybe just the glass. I have seen some on ebay but don't want to wait a month to get it here to the USA. Anyone know where I might be able to find something closer? I am also going to try Honor but don't know if they will sell me just the parts.
Thanks for any help
Honestly, buying the part off Ebay is your best bet. I shattered the screen on my 7X as well. Replacement came within a week, shipped from California. Honor wanted like $150 for service lol. Not worth it. Plus, I heard they take forever with service. Check this part out, this is the one I got. It is tough to get apart but heating up the edges with a hair dryer helped. As long as you removed the screws at the bottom it should come apart with some effort.

Where did you get your phone from? Amazon?
Through Honor
Did you change just the glass or the digitizer too? I ordered a replacement with the digitizer. Is it difficult to swap out? Any videos on how to do this easily? Not my first time doing this but first time with this phone. I want to tear it down the least possible. Thanks.
screen and digitizer is in one piece. it's not hard. I just did my wife's phone for the 2nd time.
remove sim tray
Two screws on the bottom next to usb port. Remove them.
pry on bottom corner and work your way up the side to loosen. Pull apart bottom then work your way up.
Do not pull back off too hard as finger print sensor is attached.
Follow finger print ribbon cable to to phone and metal plate, remove screw holding plate in place. Pop off finger print cable from motherboard. (ribbon cable next to it is the screen cable.)
Pop off screen cable
bottom of phone should be black speaker. Four screws hold it in place. upper left screw also holds in a metal plate.
pry speaker out as there is double sticky tape holding it in place.
Would suggest putting a suction cup on screen. If screen is already cracked, put tape on screen to keep it together.
Now the fun part. Grab a hair dryer or heat gun and heat up the screen around the edges from the front of the phone.
Apply gentle pressure to suction cup to pull screen from phone.
Once screen is removed, clean up glue/double stick tape and apply new tape.
Reverse process to put back together.
