Hi all,
I'm using Gmail as my primary email-provider but i don't like their Gmail for Mobile Java-app that much. I'd like to start using Pocket Outlook for my email needs.
To use Gmail (IMAP) with Pocket Outlook I need to uncheck the "Keep copies of sent items in Sent Folder" option but that also stops the saving of sent text-messages.
How do I keep Pocket Outlook from saving sent IMAP mails whilst still saving sent text-massages?
Regards!
PS. Using a home-grown (Pandora's kitchen) WM6.0 ROM.
Have you tried the SEVEN push email client? I think there was a setting for this in there:
http://community.seven.com/main.php
I don't think this will help anything with your current rom, but, you could try one of the WM6.1 roms.
The rom I cooked from Josh's saphire kitchen saves sent text messages, and doesn't keep a copy of sent emails from my gmail account. I haven't had a chance to work on it since before the holidays, so I won't advertise it, but I would think that one of Josh's other roms would do the same thing.
I think it's a difference in the way the different versions of poutlook handles gmail. You also no longer need to use "recent:[email protected]" with the newer version.

I am curious how is everyone managing their contacts?
Are you using Outlook?
Are you using Dashwire?
Are you using SIM Manager?
Are you using Photo Contacts Pro?
I am curious as I would love to import say friends info via facebook or any type of friendly software that can grab pics and any other info I have already obtained?
Any advice feedback or preference just comment and tell what's worked for you?
im too lazy too...i got some in dashwire, some in outlook...some written on my hand.
I just settle with outlook, I use it for all my calendar stuff too for both work and play and it does the job. Tried Dashwire but just wasn't feeling it...took longer to sync than hooking up to my computer. I use Google Cal Sync and Ogg sync to keep all in line OTA on the calendar front.
I'm still searching for a program that can sync my outlook cal/contacts with my dash OTA all in one.
I quit using outlook a year or so ago. Right now I am just using Hotmail / Live. With the Dash you can sync Hotmail and phone. So no need to use Outlook. All contacts are online.

Yes Outlook seems the best option. I also like Dashwire too, it is an amazing little program/webpage whatever you want to call it...

Im have trouble with my Picture Caller Id Screen. and Im using WM 6.1 and it comes up distorted... What would I be doing to change that?
dashwire ?
after reading their website that does sound pretty cool , but a question for anyone that is using it just to make sure before i sign up for their service .
it says you control what gets synced , and when .
just how much control does the user have over the process : can it be set to only update using wifi when i tell it to ? (since my service provider has no unlimited data plan available )
i use the free service by Nuevasync (www.nuevasync.com)
It is a two-way OTA sync with Google calendar and Google contacts using OTA Activesync.
Works flawlessly for me with 500+ contacts. I think it only works with one Google calendar right now and there are some restrictions with repeating appointments etc.
(Google contacts sucks but at least I am free of Outlook...)
I use outlook. I have around 2000 or so contacts (business) and I have had only some minor issues.
me too, using outlook, some duplicate contacts (1000 work contacts) but for the rest all ok
Hi,
i am using Pocket Outlook with an IMAP server. Is there a way to change the folder where Pocket Outlook stores sent and deleted messages? It always stores them in Sent Items / Deleted Items but i want the folders to be named "Sent" and "Trash" as they are named that way by all the other email clients i am using. Any way of doing that?
Kork
Good question
I am facing the same issue. Every time I've sent a couple of emails, I manually move them from Sent Items to Sent. This is definitely not the best way...
Any tips would be appreciated!
Does anyone knows?
Tks

It does. My Exchange calendar syncs with my stock Nexus calendar just fine.
If you're getting the error where your calendar keeps crashing, go into apps and delete all calendar data and have it resync again. This resolved my crashing calendar issue.
Thanks bro... my problem is that my calendar does not even show as available... only google's.
Kinda frustrated...

This may seem obvious but make sure your Exchange account on your phone is set to sync the calendar.
You can also try removing your Exchange account and re-adding it to your phone.
Do you know for sure that your Exchange server/administrator allows syncing calendar with mobile phones?
Hi... all that you said i tried before. No sucess.
And yes it does allow as with touchdown it works.
Damn...

didn't want to start a new thread, so i'm resurrecting this one.
I have a GSM Galaxy Nexus (running the latest release stock 4.0.4 IMM76I) and i'm having mixed results with ICS Stock calendar sycn. i've read (and posted similar feedback) on the Google forums discussing this "bug"
my setup: i have 3 exchange accounts - work (2010), family (Office365/2010) and personal (2007) - set to push email, contacts and calendar. contacts and mail works flawlessly for all three accounts. calendar sync works flawlessly for family and personal accounts. the calendar on the work account is where i'm having problems. it syncs some event and consistently excludes the several single and recurring events. I’m a program manager and rely HEAVILY on my calendar to manage my various assigned projects.
i've followed all the suggestions: clear data from calendar storage, delete and re-add the account, don't use the stock calendar widget when setting up the account (that worked for about 1 week) but still no luck with the work calendar. if i open one of the excluded events via the outlook client, make a minor change (e.g., reminder time) and then save the event, it will sync to phone, then after that a duplicate entry appears, then a triplicate entry, then it quadruples. Basically, it adds the same entry on the phone for each sync/refresh. on my outlook calendar on the pc it shows only 1 event. if i add a "test event" via the outlook client/phone, it will sync to the phone/client as a single entry, but at the next refresh, the phone entries follow the same pattern as above.
i installed a trial version of Touchdown and the work calendar syncs perfectly no issues at all. i also have a lumia 900 (wife won it at work and didn't want it) and it syncs without issue. i have a Nexus One and HTC Sensation and they sync fine, granted both are using Gingerbread. IT has told me there are no issues with my account; the fact that Touchdown and the Lumia work seems to supports my account is ok. [FONT="]
since i need my calendar for work, i purchased Moxier Mail (and use it just for calendar sync) because it's closest to the ICS stock layout. it's very frustrating that i have to cobble together software to get basic functionality to work on my GNex. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks in advance to anyone who offers suggestions.

I've been racking my brains and reading all sorts of posts but I'm really stumped on this
I have Microsoft Office 2010 and I use Outlook 2010 for my emails
I have several email accounts and they are sorted into folders and work perfectly
However I want to transfer all my emails to Android so I can read/get at them while on the move and on any device I own
Anyone got any idea how to "transfer"/import all my old emails from my outlook 2010 on my computer onto an android app
I dont mind what Android app, even a paid one as long as it works and I can transfer the old emails which are obviously .pst files
I could convert them but I have some with attachments which im not sure how they would convert or if they would
All ideas/help appreciated
I think but not sure as long as you use Microsoft exchange for settings it should work. I'm using aqua mail for mine and it synced all my old messages but I have a Microsoft exchange account

I read that Microsoft is ending Exchange Activesync. I was able to use this to sync my main gmail account with the stock app for note 2.
Strangely enough, it's still working this year 2014, though I'm not sure after July 31, the scheduled date when EAS is finally removed.
The push settings really helped save my battery and I was wondering if there is a way to get push email with gmail?
Thank you

I really didn't understand your question but are you trying to ask if gmail "push" service would be available via stock "email" app and not the default gmail app that comes preloaded?
Aw sorry. I'm using the samsung stock email app with Microsoft Exchange activesync for my gmail.
The stock Gmail app doesn't have push.

umm as far as i know from personal experience the default gmail app does have "push" as long as "sync" is enabled if sync is disabled gmail won't act as push and you have to manually check for emails under gmail. Well i am still not clear as to what are you trying to ask ,cause you are talking about microsoft active sync and gmail together, they are two different email clients that behave differently and it doesn't matter if you use samsung stock email app or stock google/ aosp/aokp email app for receiving push notifications cause it depends on the email client if they offer "push" under "stock email" app .Like for eg under stock samsung/google/aosp/aokp email app if you use your yahoo id it doesn't have option for "push" but it can check for emails at certain intervals but if you use hotmail or gmail id it does offer "push" ,so my question to you is which email are you using under stock email app ?Is it GMAIL or HOTMAIL account?
