Just like the title asks, is there any way to setup any roms to just run TOMTOM automatically from startup?
Have a spare Hermes and the girlfriend would like to just run TOMTOM on it from startup (a fitting way to recycle the old phone).
Thank you for any and all answers
No need for a ROM to do this. Simply take teh Tomtom.lnk shortcut, and make a copy in windows>start up.
I ran into an issue with this as a shortcut, and I also found out that since the phone is now used as a GPS the phone can not be in airplane mode. The radio must be turned on... still a nice way to recycle the phone.
Cheers
Don't use airplane mode. You can turn the phone's cellular radio off by going to the comm. manager. If you're using an external bluetooth dongle, just keep the phone's bluetooth on in discover mode. Shouldn't be too difficult to get the phone to startup TomTom at boot and automatically link up with your GPS.
Cheers

Have you try it on your Universal? Does it work?
Just tried this on an I-Mate JAMin and it works great. Thanks for posting it, very handy!!
Tried it on a Wizard, works flawlessly! I am in love! Thanks for finding this!
Work fine on HTC Prophet. Some experience would like to share as follow:
1. After you installed the program, soft reset first. If you encounter error message when you run this program first time, soft reset again.
2. During the file transfer process, the PDA cannot read the Memory Card.
3. Don't turn off the PDA power. You need to turn off any power time out setting in the PDA. Otherwise the process will stop.
Works like a charm on my MDA PRO with JASJAR ROM
Works perfect on Himalaya also!

Thank you it does not work on my dopod 900 i get an USB error.
Can u suggest please cheers
What does it do exactly?
Is it similar to Softick's Card Export 2?
So when installed, active sync via USB won't work anymore?
Is it always ON or is there a way to turn it OFF?
the program acts like a toogle. The first time you call it you can activate it, the second time you can deactivate it.
Wolfgang
I get the following error
"Cant switch to mass storage USB driver, error 1f"
I have installed it to my device, not sd card and have soft reset it before using it.
Could it be that it doesnt support 4GB sd cards? I am using a 4gb transcend card.
I have an M5000
cheers
I was able to read a few more comments from the site, but I want to know your experiences regarding Active Sync and WM5torage switching on your Universals.
Is it possible to delete protected files from the \windows directiry with this software ?
well... i'm experiencing problems after activesync. WM5torage can't seem to initialize just like softick. I have to do a reboot and run WM5torage before activesyncing to make it work. I hope i'm not the only one having this problem... cuz if it is ... i need to do a clean reinstallation.
Jupiiiii
Great Tool !
Made my day.
Works perfectly on the Universal and the Wizard
Cheers

Nice tool. Save us $20. Here is what I found out with regards to active sync:
1) I had active sync running fine. Turned active sync OFF while still plugged in and turned on WM5torage and activate it. Computer stated "Unable to recognized device". Unplugged my Exec and plugged it back in and computer recognized it immediately as a Local Hard Dirve. Excellent piece of software.
2) I had active sync open in the back ground without being plugged in. Tried plugging it in and the computer failed to recognize my Exec. The small active sync icon on the task bar just moved. I unplugged my device and totally shut active sync application from start>settings>running applications. Plugged my Exec back and active sync connected without any problems.
Conclusions:
1) We need to totally kill active sync from running before it can reconnect without problems after using WM5torage.
2) We still need to unplugged the device if we want to run WM5torage or re-run Active Sync. It would be nice if we can just toggle in and out of it without manually unplugging the Universal.
All in all this is a very handy little application and I am glad it is FREE. What makes it nicer is that it has such a small footprint: 45kb. I did not experienced any errors upon installation. Nice work by the developer.

Voila..!! It worked with out USB errors. Cheers, Taurus
It works perfect !!!
Thank you !!
Version 1.3 attached here!
Version 1.3
- added prompt to soft-restart the device after installation
- when storage is attached to USB host, mobile device USB controller and flash disk are ordered to be kept in "Power On" state
- added switch to choose between "Removable" and usual ("Hard Disk") device classes. Will affect how the host OS treats the device - for instance, it will not create System Restore and Recycle Bin if class is Removable.

Wonderful! It works as stated on my QTEK 9000 Universal
With PHM Tray Launch I could put an icon in my bottom task bar
Hello, I have installed TomTom Navigator 5 in my Qtek s200, but I can't connect it with the bluetooth GPS if the telephone is switched off.
Tomtom runs ok, but doesn't find GPS device.
If I switch on the telephone there isn't any problem, tomtom runs ok and find the GPS device.
I have used tomtom, and dell GPS bluetooth GPS reveivers.
Someone knows if is there a solution to use the GPS with the telephone utility switched off?
Thanks!
ive got this problem too with my xda 1 which i only use as a satnav unit
I use the xda with a wired gps but tomtom complains there is no gps device because the unit is in flight mode, even tho im not trying to use any wireless signals.
anyone help ?
thanks.
I don't know if I understand you right, but I might have an explanation for this. On my Qtek 9100, I can't use a bluetooth GPS-receiver when the device is in flight-mode. Flightmode disables all radiosignals...and since bluetooth is sort of a radio signal, it's disabled as well
A solution might be to turn off and on your device and "cancel" when you're asked to enter your SIMs PIN-code. This way, the device is not in flight mode (so bluetooth works) but the telephone-reception is disabled.
I hope this helps, if not: let me know!

yes that works but the phone device is still switched on so uses battery
the gps in question in my situation is a wired unit going directly to my old xda 1's com port so shouldnt matter if the phone or bluetooth are on or not. Even if the pda was in flight mode it shouldnt affect use of my wired gps as there are no radio signals.
seems like a 'bug' in the tomtom software that if the pda is in any kind of flight mode including the phone being off, it decides it cant communicate with any gps, no matter how its connected, as if they expect everyone to be using bluetooth gps' and just include the wired configuration as a legacy function.

Darn...sorry, I misunderstood. I'm using a bluetooth GPS-receiver myself, so I just took for granted that you also used a bluetooth device And indeed, looks like a bug...not very convenient.

Concerning bluetooth devices:
This seems not to work with Windows Mobile 5.0.
With Pocket PC 2003 devices it is possible to use with TomTom bluetooth while in flight mode.
Here's a work around for Win 5.0:
1) Enable the phone and bluetooth in the Comm. manager.
2) Make the link to thte bluetooth gps in TomTom.
3) Disable the phone in the Comm. manager.
4) Return to TomTom.
The bluetooth link will be maintained until you exit Tomtom or try to link again.
This might also be the case with a wired gps.

When you say 'with the phone off' do you mean 'flight mode'?
You have to be a bit careful because putting the phone into 'flight mode' not only disables the phone, but also any BT or wi-fi so TomTom wouldn't work.

Also, with Phone off (instead of flight mode) TomTom 6 dosn't work either.
You must have phone on (and of course BT) to get TT6 work.
I use my Qtek 9100 without SIM with TT6, but i must have phone on to get working (but without connected to operator network, of course).
This isn't related to WM6, so put this question in the correct thread, this is only for WM6 related.
Regards.
Yeah, BT on, phone off, and tomtom will NOT work.....Switch on phone and all is ok.....Strange.
Anyone know of a workaround- I like to drive without being interrupted by a phone call

As you can read in my last post, TT6 NEEDS phone on, there isn't a workaround for this. It's "by desing" feature
If you want drive without been interrupted, you need a PNA.

Hmm, every other phone/pda I have had this is not an issue, I don't believe you are correct. Also, I do belive you meant "design"?

Instead of switching phone off, just divert all calls to your answering machine. There are also many 3rd part apps to make this a little easier (ie. today screen plugins etc)

Yes, design
And of course i can be in an error, but if you think this is an issue, you can test very easy... put same version of TT6, in my case, TT 6.030 in other non HTC PDA with WM5 or WM6 and give us the result.
Not a valid test to put TT6 in Symbian OS or Palm. We are talking about WM5 or WM6 and Hermes PDA.
Regards.
Solution
Solution:
Be sure SIM Pin is not disabled
1) Switch phone off (via commmgr).
2) Switch phone back on & when it asks pin push "cancel".
You're phone is now on, but not registered to the Network ("No Service") & TT works now with BT GPS Receiver.
Rgds.

Even easier use callfirewall 1.2 to block incoming calls or perhaps just allow your whitelist callers.
Hi guys
before I upgraded my ROM (Artemis Touch 4.02 WM6.1 WWE ROM) on my XDA orbit the WiFi used to switch off automatically when in standby mode. Can I get this ROM to do the same please?
Is there a registry hack or a cab file to install to do this for me.
Also when I check out the memory icon in settings the tab which shows running programs is missing, can I get that back?
Again is the a registry hack or cab file for this?
In all other respects this is a fantastic ROM and thanks to Meschle for his hard work putting this together
Simon
ok, I figured this out myself!
basically, if I use the com manager to switch WiFi on/off & put my Orbit into standby it wil switch off the Wifi automatically.
however; if I use a button mapping program like Hbutton or AEbutton to toggle the WiFi it WON'T switch off automatically. weird but true.
So my question is can I get a registry fix to sort this out or am I going to have to use the com manager from now on?
not happy to use button mapping simply because on at least two occasions I have run my battery flat because I forgot to switch oif the WiFi
(Still) not sorted out the running program tab in the memory module though)
thanks
Simon
Hello everyone. I have just recently updated/flashed/done something to my phone to the Artemis Touch 4.02. Great rom so i have seen, no complaints with it. (Unsure what the proccess is actualy called.)
Only setback i have is that files i recive by bluetooth go straight to my main memory. What i would like to do is to have it go straight to my micro sd card, and to have a progress bar showing me the status.
I have tried a few programs.
DrYAR Bluetooth manager 1.5: Does what i need, but seems to be a little unstable. Sometimes freezes or will not connect to most phones.
DrYAR Bluetooth manager 1.6: Works great, only problem, if constently asks for every bit of the file you recive. So if its set to auto recive, theres alot of beeping going on.
DrYAR Bluetooth manager 2.0: I have seen this version somewhere, but i cant seem to download it
BT Tools: Dosnt seem to have many options.
Enable A2DP:Not sure where i got this from, but i had it from when i had a MDA Compact II. Worked for what i needed then. Dosnt seem to work on this one.
Broadcom Bluetooth Manager:Looks fantastic, many options to mess around with, but it just wount run on my device. Says there is not enogh memory to turn on bluetooth.
Is there any way i might make the first or last options work well, or is there another app i can try? So far it is a pain to move them over. I would like to keep the internal memory as free as possible.
Any more information you want do let me know.
PS Sorry for any spelling errors.
Is no one able to reply?
How about moBlue, works well on my Artemis and Diamond
HTH
Kim
Dosnt seem to work well on mine, still wants to use the windows version. Or sometimes the phone/whatever just doesnt connect
Well, I use moBlu as well on my Artemis & it works well. For it to work, you need to launch it before receiving a transfer via Bluetooth. You can set it up in its settings to make your phone discoverable when you launch the app & disconnect bluetooth when app is closed. And in the filters you will find 2-3 default filters, just select the "*.*" filter & set the location to a folder on your card. You can delete the other two filters or edit them & also add more if you want. They are file extension filters so if any file you are receiving matches them the filter will be applied & your file will be automatically stored in that specified filter folder.
