T-Mobile Dash with RickyWyatt WM6.1, Esmertec Jbed (latest)
In applications like MIDPSSH (v1.7.3), the keys WERSDFXCV are all mapped to numbers. I've encountered this in a few other MIDP applications. Is there a fix for this? This doesn't occur in full-screen text-entry fields - only when in the active application.
In applications like Gmail and Opera Mini, the fonts are "ugly" -- not anti-aliased. Is there a way to correct this? (In Gmail, there's a preference for large fonts, but it doesn't appear to have any effect.)
I've tried searching in the custom search, but haven't been able to find solutions for either of the above.
Thanks for your help.
Your font issue can be sorted by placing the font attached into the Windows Directory and rebooting phone.
Worked like a charm. Thanks so much.
It looks like there's another font in the Gmail app that's being called, but isn't present (in the message subjects) -- any idea what font that is?
In any case, thanks again.

Dude... what can i say... It´s perfect! You guys from this forum rocks!!! Thanks a lot.
I found this..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2971979
The following registry settings control the font sizes for apps running in JBed.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apps\Esmertec Java\Device Info\Java Font]
"Size Large"="26"
"Size Medium"="20"
"Size Small"="16"
You may need to create the Device Info & Java Font keys since they are not created by default. I know they change the font with JBed 20080912_5_1, not sure about older versions.

It appears to work with the latest Esmertec Jbed.
I had some issues with the Menu button fonts looking a little weird.. but I got it worked out. It turns out another font was missing.
It's one of the following:
#tahoma.ttf
#tahomabd.ttf
Arial.ttf
tahoma.ttf
tahomabd.ttf
arialbd.ttf
arialbi.ttf
ariali.ttf
Andale.ttf
CORBEL.TTF
CORBELB.TTF
CORBELI.TTF
CORBELZ.TTF
lsans.ttf
lsansd.ttf
lsansdi.ttf
lsansi.ttf
micross.ttf
lucon.ttf
I had to use the attached gmail.jad -- the original jad caused the gmail app to reverse the menu buttons.
Upgraded to "VGA Esmertec Jbed 20080912.5.1.cab" and the fonts look great.

Hello,
I installed the 10-button comm manager from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316107
on my HTC TyTN (with the official wm6).
Everything works fine, even after restarts, etc. But at one point (don't know what determines this point), the text on the buttons is screwed up: I only see small lines; the logos are still in order and it still works.
I suspect it has to do with the font, but I could be wrong. Is there a way to get this back to normal? (removing/installing doesn't solve it, only way I know to solve it is to perform a hard reset - which is quite drastic )
Thanks!
Jörg

i think it was in the vp 3.62 thread, but someone else complained of a messed up font. turns out it was caused by a weather plugin i believe. do u have one installed?
Yes, I also have the 6-tab home plugin installed. The font and icons have been customized with the home customizer (but weather icons are still the default ones).
But IIRC, uninstalling the 6-tab home home plugin also didn't solve the issue...
What else could I try?
(thanks for helping me out!)

Yup.
I is caused by Weatherpanel.
You have to rename/delete the 2 fonts in the weatherpanel folder, or change your weatherpanel theme to one that doesn't use those fonts.
It's a glitch caused by windows mobile defaulting to the last font used when it should default to a system font.
I'm a bit confused now... The Weatherpanel, is that that weathertab present in the 6-tab home plugin (as that is the only weatherthing I have installed)?
Where can I find those fonts that I ought to delete?
Just for test purposes, I deinstalled both the home-plugin and the comm manager, then re-installed the comm manager, but its font was still messed up.

Weatherpanel is not the same thing. I havent actually used it, so maybe GldRush can put some pics up to show u what it looks like. Ur problem could very well be being caused by something else tho.
Ha, ok...
Most likely it is the same font bug, but with another program causing the problem...
Jörg
the pics show the problem - no input possible
I couldn't find a configuration file to manually enter my data
any ideas?
solution:
I started Fring in landscape. that easy

Is there any way to add new font to windows directory without having it affect Mini Opera? If not, then is there any way to assign what font affect Mini Opera and what font affect windows' font?
Thank,

Depends what ROM? If using 6.1 can just place font file attached in Windows Directory and restart, later builds of Java it's not so simple and infact never got it to work which is why even in RoseROM Remade Ricky & I chose to use an older jbed.

Thank stylez for replying so soon. I am currently running 3VO ROM by Ookba. I want to edit the homescreen with different font. Mini Opera font also changes as I change the font for the homescreen. Is there any way to prevent this?

Thats cool 10507,
Easiest way use an older java as peeps have said can sort via reg in reply before but when asked to clarify how they never do... I spend a long time with reg and got no where, attached jbed from RoseROM Remade will want to still use font attached
Peace.
Can anyone tell me how to change font sizes?
I have tried nueFonts, INGChangeFonts and Advanced Config, as well as editing the HKLM\System\GWE and \GDI registry keys directly, as described here and here. The registry values are being changed, but the fonts do not. Exception: I found one app, Mauro Venturini's Shortcut Creator, that seems to be paying attention to these registry settings. No others do.
I am particularly interested in changing the font size of the pop-up menus that come up when you tap a softkey.
Thanks!
change the Ht of PopFnt
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Menu\PopFnt

Thanks for responding... but as I mentioned in my initial post, these registry keys are not having any effect on the font sizes on my device (with the exception of one application). I'm trying to find out why this is the case.
i think it has something to do with the theme you are using...
there was a time when i uninstalled all my themes, the menu changed back to the WM6.1 style.
Both youtube (app) and facebook (app), as well as a couple other apps have some weird font that looks like a old fashioned LCD clock. For example H looks like: |-|
Any idea how to fix that?
whats the last app you installed before this happened? A while ago i installed an app that installed the "Wingdings" font on my ppc and switched it to that in some applications.
Can't remember the name of the app right now.
The font only shows up in apps I don't use frequently, so I'm not sure what caused it.
Is there a way to "see" all my fonts and what they look like?
not sure how to check with fonts are installed, but using a registry editor browse to:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Youtube and scroll down to "DefaultFont" what's that string value set to? over here its "Helvetica Neue OTS"
I guess I should mention I downloaded the current youtube app from youtube itself, and that is the one with the LCD style font. If I brows to the original HTC youtube in /windows/ it looks fine. I didn't see any reference to fonts in htc/facebook in the reg either.
Found it. It was in \windows\fonts\digital-7.ttf
Erased (moved) it and the apps look fine. God that was annoying.
