Hi! I have a Qtek 2020 with the 2003 SE, and it all worked well until one day i plug the PDA to one PC with the USB cable, and puff! The PC resets, my Qtek hard-resets, and suddenly when it turns on i notice the green LED is always ON! Like it was constantly plug to a pc/charging or activesync!!! It consumes the battery in 2/3 hours, and the backup power also! Even when i lose all power, when i put it charging it hard resets everytime! Can anything be done in this case? what can i do? PLEASE help!
Thanks!

Help, please...
I don't know if this is HW trouble. I've flashed ROM to some from the FTP complete shipped-think it was belgian.. And installed some apps.
I started to take some pictures with upgraded-I mean 4 new icons of style of recording- Record program and then the machine has frozen, after that black screen...
No hard, soft reset,no connection with activesync, flash programs tells there is nothing on cable.
When I unplug the battery, the diod is red, with battery nothing.
What can it be,how to solve? Thank U very much,I have NO backup...
And no phone at all
Roman
are you sure it is not in bootloader mode?
No,
I'm sure... I haven't done anything to make it bootload..
I have had taking some photos only,
maybe there is some hot-key to make it?
But I did only press the button on joystick to make a photo..
And after that if did freeze..
Thx

Hi.
maybe you should first try to enter the Bootloader... (Camera- OR VoiceRecording-Button at the same time with Power- AND Reset-Button) Serial or USB should appear together with a VersionNo. on the Screen ..
.. after that you could check my post here - maybe that will help you out ?!
Good luck!

I had the same thing after using a car usb adapter + usb charger lead.
I think it was caused when I started the car with everything plugged in.
Red light, no charge, whn I used the usb charger with my work PC, it wouldn't charge it.
I ordered a replacement handset, and just left my XDA IIs in the cradle charging. It seemed to start charging after a while, but very slowly.
When I woke up the next day it was OK. It is fine now.

Hey, i know your problem cause i had the same a few weeks ago.
U stuck the USB-Adapter wrong into the port so you should be a lucky person if the port isn't damaged yet.
If it is ok its should be work this way:
1. Plug the PDA to the charger (not your PC)
2. Hard-Rest
3. unplug the calbe
4. Hard-Rest
So at this point normaly the PDA port isnt frozen in charing-mode..
If it hasn't worked try to lay your pda on the street, enter a bulldozer and drive across it...
There's the history:
I was talking to a friend, and my Excalibur ran out of battery, then, I tried to turn it on again, it started but got stuck on the Windows Mobile screen, then the screen turn out black and the red light (low battery) keep on blinking. It didn't respond at all, so I pulled out the battery, when I inserted it again, my Excalibur didn't turned on, and has been like this since that day...
Any ideas??? I need help please!!!

Has probado hacer un hard reset?
Algunas veces ayuda, antes de hacerlo carga tu bateria
Aqui como
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Excalibur
Have you tried doing a hard reset?
Sometimes it helps, charge your battery first
Here how
Hard Reset Procedures
Press Start -> Accessories -> Clear Storage, press enter to launch, you will be prompted to type "1234" and to press Enter. If you do this you will lose all contents and the Dash will be restored to its original configuration. It takes about 5 minutes for it do this and reboot.
If you are locked up and can't get to the Clear Storage utility, turn the phone off; hold down the two softkey menu select buttons (above the home and <- buttons); press power on while still holding the buttons down and follow the prompts on the screen. Timing is critical on the latter option, so if you miss it once, try again.

You prob need to replace your battery. These batteries usually only last 12 to 18 months however i made mine last 28 months before i replaced mine last week. My phones behaviour was the same as yours until after i replaced the battery,
i need to buy 4 batteries in 24 months for my dash

Ebay batteries?
Still dead...
My phone doesn't turn on, so I can't do the Hard or Soft reset thing, anyway I've tried to do the Hard Reset, but the phone doesn't answer.
I tried with other battery, and the results were the same, I don't know what to do...
did you try to get into bootloader mode?
you basically press and hold your camera button and while holding the button, plug your device into your PC via USB cable which if not entirely dead, should give you the 3 color screen. If you do get this, you must then install your stock rom that came with the phone. Then once thats done if you want to install another custom ROM, you can.
And if it doesn't work???
I'm gonna give it a try, but if it doesn't work, I think is a serious problem, isn't???
Maybe it's alive...
I tried the bootloader process, but what i get is a flash of the red led (low battery) when I connect the phone to USB, with no battery. If I do that with the battery on it nothing happens. Any ideas???
either you have a case of bad batteries, or theres a hardware issue with the connectors on your battery housing
Red Light Flashing
So, does the red light flash mean something??? It flashes when I connect my Excalibur to my PC without battery, if I don't remove the battery, nothing happens...
Thanks...
Of usually i search and search until I find an answer but I have now idea what to do...

Not if your battery is completely waste it. Check if your battery pins in your dash make full contact with your battery, because that can cause a problem (very odd, but it happens). If not, try another battery.
Have you checked your charger, I guess is damaged because if your battery is damaged or if is no battery at all and you connect the charger the led will turn red.
sam happened w me, no solution yet
hate to tell you that you might have bricked your phone,
the same happened to my excalibur, when i tried to flash it -mistakenly- with the wrong rom,
thing is; the rom is controlling the power charging process and the battery support to the device, if something went wrong with the rom for any reason; then no instructions are sent to the battery neither the charger, therefore: no power sign of any in the device.
i couldn't find an answer to fix my dash, but i think the solution is either changing the rom or JTAG-ing it might solve the problem, though i have no tools neither knowledge to do so.
sorry pal, the bright side is: you are a member of (BDC) the Bricked Dash Club
cheers

With the information provided it hasn't been your same case due that he hasn´t flashed any other rom, so basically he can try another battery and see what happens.
errrrrr
New Battery - Still no lights and using the reset features found in the unbricking tutorial do not work.
Tried using a cable from my comp to give power to phone so it isnt power cable
So what now? I cant even get to a bootloader screen or anything.... I cant afford a new phone ERRR
**Update-
Was plugging in the USB cable and looks like it gets a connection only when it is plugged in a little but this not just at the end that connects to the phone (it happened when the phone was already plugged into the cable and I was plugging it into the comp and vice versa) Um so that is strange - the light does not stay on and when the battery is in the phone I do not get that quick red flash - so it still doesnt work and cant do anything

Maybe is your USB port causing the problem.
