Bluetooth conflict - General Accessories

Hello,
I have just bought a Jabra BT530 bluetooth headset and a BlueNext BN-905GR bluetooth GPS receiver. I'm having trouble getting them to work simultaneously with my TyTN running WM6. If I first connect my Jabra then neither tomtom nor Pocket nav can receive data from the GPS - Pocket nav says "GPS: Can't open COM port". If I switch off the Jabra then tomtom picks up the GPS in about 6 seconds. The Jabra will then not connect until tomtom is switched off... then if tomtom is restarted GPS no longer works. I have tried the available COM0, COM2, COM5 and COM9 for the GPS serial ports (with receive incoming beams switched off). I did actually manage to get both devices working simultaneously for a short while by uninstalling them both, resetting the PDA, installing the Jabra then installing the GPS on COM9. However when I switched them both back off and on again I was back with the original conflict. I'm using:
ROM Version: 3.30.3.3
ROM Date: 05/15/07
Radio Version: 1.38.00.01
Protocol version: 32.71.7020.12H
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Tim

T_Mobile MDA III, TomTom 3.03 and Bluetooth headset problems

Hi,
I have problems connecting to my bt headset since I have installed TomTom3. I am running the build3500 bluetooth stack from the 1.06.02 FRA radio. It was working fine without even losing connection with the mda, but after I installed tomtom, it can pair, but cannot connect. The weird thing is that I can sync using bluetooth. I suspect tomtom is keeping busy some of the bt com ports? i noticed that during installation, it required to close bluetooth (cause it said the file BtcoreIf.dll was in use) and as soon as I did that, it finished installation, but since then the headset stopped working. Anyone has similar problems??
Thanks in advance for any input.
Update
Managed to sort it out by upgrading my BT stack to 1.0.0.3900. Still cannot find any similar complaints in any forums. Can it just happen to my MDA III? Who knows....at least it works now, even if my engineering background is not happy with it
Upgrading the bluetooth stack
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem as you had, although I'm on the UK network Vodafone and have an XDA2s.
My current radio version is 1.06.02 but I can't fine what version my bluetooth stack is. How do I upgrade to 1.0.0.3900?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
Hi,
I am using Qtek9090 with TomTom 3.07 and Jabra BT800 headset and have not the problems you people talk about here. I have to mention that I immediately updated my BT version from 2400 to 3900 the same day I purchased the whole stuff. I was - when I was in the shop - told that TomTom 3.07 can sometimes cause problems due to BT version of Qtek (1.0.0.2400) and I better upgrade it to 3500 and/or 3900. I was also told that there were known problems with earlier versions of TomTom wireless (like in your case TomTom 3.03) and that I (at least) had to use TT 3.07 and/or better upgrade the BT driver of my Qtek9090. In order to find your current BT version:
- Click on Bluetooth icon
- Select Bluetooth Settings
- Go to [About] tab
- And there you see your own Build
- You can also select [Advanced] button in [About] for more details
Anyway, once being at home and taking my device out of package I did a BT upgrade to 1.0.0.3900 right away and so far I have no issue with BT stack. Even Jabra BT800 which a lot people complain about works fine with my Qtek9090 (OK, I admit the CallerID at Jabra still not working but I already expected that).
I downloaded the 3900 version of Bluetooth driver (plus another Audio driver) at the following URL in The Netherlands: http://www.pdanieuws.nl/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=37

tomtom gps
The problem is that tomtom is messing around a bit with bluetooth for bt gps receivers.
So after installing tomtom allways reinstall the latest bt drivers.
AFAIK you should always use TTN 3.07 (GPS and Navigator) on SE and Phone Edition devices (Blue Angels is both WM2003SE and Phone Edition)
Big Fat TY
I was getting stupid before reading this 3d.
Even went back to the shop with the motorola headset and had them show me it was working....
Tom Tom was the reason.

BT gps and nokia hands free
What vs of TT are you running if vs3 roll back the GPS driver to vs 2.06, alternativly some people have had luck using TT vs3,07 I tried various vs3 settings and never got it to work the headset will pair and connect but when TT vs3 is loaded the headset will pair but fails to connect - I use TT vs5 which works but not with BT GPS and Headset tried it and it worked until you treminated call and at that point you lost GPS - so I went wired for GPS and all is fine. Mike
tom tom v3
my tom tom v3
i would upgrade to v3.07 after my holidy
Give it a try but the only way I got the XDAIIs to do what I needed was to ditch the BT GPS and go with wired, combined with BT headset - had no problem sinse then

Generic BT GPS & TomTom 5

I have just bought a Generic BlueTooth GPS for use with TomTom 5. I successfully paired the GPS with the XDA IIs, then the problem came of getting tomtom to find it. It will not see it as a Bluetooth GPS so I have to select "Other Cable NMEA GPS", set the baud rate to 38400 and set it to COM 6.
This will work for approx 40mins before TomTom5 crashes. It then takes a soft reboot to get it working again.
Is anyone else having similar problems?
I might have to go back to TomTom3.
My device info:
ROM Version: 1.40.00 WWE (i-mate ROM)
Radio Version: 1.12.00
ExtROM Version: 1.40.176 WWE
Well after struggling with TomTom 5 for the last time, I'm going back to TomTom 3. I believe there is a patch out there to get the TomTom 5 maps to work with 3.
I use my pda2k with tomtom 5.1 and both the Tomtom 3 bluetooth gps and a BT-338 Globalsat GPS Bluetooth Receiver .
In order to get it to work, I have to switch on bluetooth and connect to the gps manually, and then start Tomtom. Occaisonally the gps wont connect or Tomtom just wont detect the gps. I then to a soft reset, try again and it works.
I have not had to do anything clever with the Tomtom settings, in fact I think I just use the Tomtom bluetooth setting for both receivers.
If someone phones me whilst using Tomtom, after the call, tomtom does not detect the gps and I have to quit and restart.
Well I'm back on TomTom 3 now, it's lovely and stable, the BT connect first time everytime and I can make/accept calls on my BT headset.
Perfect!
If only the boys at TomTom had put some effort in and tested 5 before releasing it.
Hello Porkspeare,
can you tell me which version of TomTom 3 you are using and what bluetooth stack? I have the problem that I cannot use my BT headset Bluetrek G2 after installing TomTom 3.01 , even though before the TomTom install it works fine. Would be interesting to know what combination works on your machine.
Thanks
ROM Version: 1.40.00 WWE (i-mate ROM)
BlueTooth Version: 1.0.0 Build 3900
TomTom Version: 3.03 (427)
BT Headset Ver: Blue Trek G2
Hope this helps.
Vavavoom, are you using the very latest bluetooth driver from tomtom for version 3..
tomtom 5 hangs
I have same problem...
The problem goes away if you turn off all POIs
some say copying poi.dat from tomtom3 maps will solve it..
also seen something about a vga registry hack, havent tried any - i have just turned off poi until some solution pops up...
Jan
Hi cruising-thru,
I don't know what you mean by "bluetooth driver for TomTom3" - can you get a seperate update for just the bluetooth driver? The only update I found was for the Navigator (3.07) and GPS (3.07). Unfortunately I can only install the GPS update. If I try to install a Navigator update higher than 3.01 TomTom tells me it cannot find a map even though it's installed and activated. My current combination is therefore Navigator 3.01 and GPS 3.07.
If there is a sperate BT update could you please tell me where to find it?
Thanx
Thanx porkspeare,
I have the same combination except I only managed to install TomTom up to version 3.01. Maybe if I somehow manage to update to 3.03 it solves my problem. Will keep trying
Cheers

i-mate jasjar not work with parrot ck3300 gps

help me
I have a Imate Jas-Jar windows mobile 2005. A new version of GPS Nav-N-Go was released for WM 2005 I installed it and it doesn't work! It doesn't recognize my GPS on the Parrot CK3300.
I talked with the Nav-N-Go developers and they told me that the Nav-N-Go works with 9 GPS antenna's. It seems to me that the problem is in the definition of a communication "COM port".
Please help me to solve this problem. Is there a way to define a "COM port" for GPS in the CK3300

JasJar & TomTom5 using a Parrot 3300 for GPS & Phone
I also have a Jas Jar badged as an Orange SPVM5000 and have similar problems. I am not a techie by any meands but I do not think the problem is with the Parrot 3300.
The Bluetooth pairing connects Parrot and Phone.
Setting the com port is identifying where the incoming gps signal is made of available on the phone.
TomTom5 is the sat nav software I use and it seems only to work by connecting to certain com ports. Unfortunatley, the phone does not like assigning the connection to this port.
Elsewhere on this site there are instructions which allowed me to pair the phone with another GPS BT reciever I use when out and about.
The same procedure will not work with pasiring the parrot.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can pair with the Parrot to get the phone and gps working?
You may find some answers here -- worth a try, anyway.

black Satin, Nokia BH207 & Holux M-1000 BT problems

All,
I am running Black Satin and experiencing a very strange problem. I have a Bluetooth Holux M-1000 GPS and a Nokia BH207 Bluetooth 2.0 headset.
Now when the Nokia headset is switched off TomTom 6 works perfectly and is able to communicate with my Holux M-1000.
Now if I exit TomTom 6 and switch on my Nokia BH207 headset and then run TomTom it is not able to see Holux M-1000
I have ran other various GPS software like GPSViewer and MiniGPS and when I try and open the COM port (COM2) I get a COM open port error.
If I switch off my Nokia BH207 and try and open COM2 it works and is able to receive GPS data.
I have tried putting the Holux M-1000 on different COM ports but to no avail.
Can someone help me to get both working?
Thanks
Msuk
