I upgraded my stock 1.93 spl to the 1.34 Olinex hardspl to upgrade my rom, but then decided not to do so. however after I started using the shipped rom with the hardspl I feel like the responiveness of my xda ignito has decreased and also memory usage is around 60% whereas it used to be at ~50%... is it possible that the new hardspl has anything to do with this or am I just being paranoid?
also I've been looking for the stock 1.93 spl all-over here but couldn't find it anyone know where I could find it...I basically want to get back to stock settings, both rom and spl.

do i need to flash the hardspl again or can i just flash it with any rom from now on?
yus786
after you "installed" hardspl you can just flash everything...you don't need to reinstall hardspl the whole time

So I have searched far and wide, both on Google and on XDA and i cant seem to find a straight answer as far as the stock SPL for the tmobile rhodium.
Right now I have .79 installed, but some people say that .87 is the true stock and others that .82 is stock.
does someone have a stock t-mobile rhodium that can go into bootloader for me and check, if not I can go to the tmobile store, i just dont wanna have to make an unnecessary trip.
Thanks
Also, since i have .79 installed, if the SPL needs to be changed could i just rename it to RHODIMH.nbh and flash it from the sdcard?
I have messed and done ok with other phones when it came to unlocking and stuff but i am kind of lost with the htc touch pro 2 custom rom guide. Is there anyone that can give me a quick step by step and what the latest essentials files to install. Thank you very much.

Depending on the rom the Suggested radio will be cooked into the rom. Radio's are a best for you case. Read the Radio thread found HERE.
ok ok 1 more question and ill leave you alone hehe
If i want to change roms, i just repeat the process correct?
Or can i just pick a rom since i did the hardspl and just install a new one?

Once you Hard SPL you are free to flash any rom you like without having to do the SPL again. Just make sure you get the right SPL for your version. GSM or CDMA
hey i wanted to ask you about those other google roms
How do they run on the htc touch pro 2?, i had a mytouch and if they ran as smooth as that, i would try it.

I have found that flashing a stock rom then flashing a cooked rom seems to make my device a bit more stable. If I don't flash a stock rom before my next cooked one, I have been hit and miss with bugs...
Or I may just be superstitious, and this is all just part of my OCD
i just got my new hd2 yall, greetings! i am having somewhat of decent experience. its just that this phone seems to be a bit underpowered for having such great hardware. when i run slacker it takes longer than my mytouch3g and iphone 3g. not only that, it is just laggy all around. i have the newest update but changes nothing. so here i am wondering about flashing. first of all in order to do this i need to flash spl, sspl, or hspl right? now in order to do that i need the right one for me. i have read around and feel that i need hardspl because i have spl 2.10.xxxx right? i powered off and held volume and power to get that info right? ok i have activesync and mobile device im good there too. im pretty sure about getting it flashed. also, when i flash a new rom, will i have to have to have a custom radio? now the last thing what custom rom performs better than my current stock romk sorry so long winded but wanted to b sure.
rom 2.13..531.1 (90963)wwe
os 5.2.21892 (21892.5.0.89)
manila 2.5.20121412.2
radio 2.10.50.26
protocal 15.39.50.07u
spl 2.10.0000 8g xe
Hi, I regret to say I am a noob. I have read around for the past few days and have a general idea of rooting and flashing ROMs.
I have a branded T Mobile DHD and I not only want it debranded, but I want it to function as if T Mobile never touched it. That is, I want to be able to debrand it once and then receive OTA updates direct from HTC when they are released (all the way up to the eventual ICS).
I have two main questions. One, can I replace the T Mobile ROM with the Stock HTC one without root and without a custom recovery (that is, installing the stock ROM using the stock recovery -renaming it update.).
Two, do I need to change the CID to HTC__001 to enable future OTA updates?
There may be things I have missed. Please point me in the right direction if this is the case, cause the info I've found isn't as specific as I'd like it.
Thank you!
Unfortunately not sure if there is such a thing. I have rooted and used custom ROMS and in the end went back to my providers RUU. I find even though some bloat ware the software is fast enough bug free and battery life is very good. Search the net maybe find your answer there.

I should have clarified, I'm using a T Mobile DHD off ebay with a 3 sim. The reason I want to have a clean DHD is primarily so I can be free from waiting on T Mobile for updates. The reason I want to be clean and have OTA direct from HTC is because I've always been happy with stock, unbranded ROMs.
Thanks though.
Is there no way of completely restoring the DHD to a purely unbranded state so that it functions as a factory bought one?
I read this
"If you're coming from a branded ROM and just want to debrand, you can stop here. By reverting back to an unbranded 2.2 ROM, you will now be able to receive OTA update straight from HTC without any network bloatware. You can continue with the root process, but it is not recommended you download OTA updates when rooted."
on androidforums, the thread "How to root and install a custom ROM on the Desire HD" (I can't post links)
Which is what got me thinking about debranding and leaving it there, but reading up about CID and OTAs I got confused, wouldn't mine still be T Mobiles and not HTC__001 after downgrading? It'd be great if someone could explain how simply reverting back using a goldcard results in successful HTC OTAs.
Or I could just root the phone and install HTC WWE ROMs as they appear online.
What would be best?
You would have to gain root/soff/supercid first after that you just simply flash the unbranded ruu.
It should be doable, I would imagine all it takes is setting the proper CID/MID and flashing a WWE RUU, and never rooting/installing custom recovery.

Could I use the Advanced Ace Hack Kit to give me those permissions, then using the Kit revert it to a WWE RUU?
If not, I'll try rooting then installing a RUU separately. I know how to install ROMS from zip files through recovery, how do I install a stock exe RUU on a rooted phone?
Reverting back to son unbranded to me would be an unnecessary step. This is what I would do.
1)use the hack kit to get supercid/soff
2) flash the unbranded ruu
3)done
To flash an ruu, you would simply just run the program from your PC with your phone connected
