Basically.
The main three problems are...
not having the CDMA unlocker (I figure, I had problems with Olipro's with my sprint phone)
not having .NET framework 3.5 installed
You'll get an error on a lot of stuff.
not having advanced connectivity turned off on phone.
or just boot into boot loader by using sspl-manual
to turn off advance connectivity, start-settings-connections-usb to pc
So,
The steps are...
for CDMA unlocking. This was the only one that worked.

Then I was able to update my rom.
If I failed, I had to unbrck my phone using mtty

I have seen software around the forum to unlock the phone but got confused when it mentioned that it used certain radios. can i use any of these if i am on radio 1.41? thanks.
Firstly what device do you have, secondly have you read the unlocking thread?
cingular 8525. have been in the unlock forum but getting confused with the radio issue since I am already running black 3.0 and radio 1.41. Basically just nervous since it seems that i am more likely to brick my phone with this than i was when upgrading from stock to black.
*my other issue is i am running vista (which worked fine when flashing to black) but the instructions for SIM & CID Unlocker v3a it notes to use the SD card way if you are not on XP, which i am not familiar with
I would HIGHLY recommend:
Get access to and XP (SP2) machine with all the .net frameworks installed.
Install Activesync and hook up your 8525.
Run the unlocker, it should install fine.
VISTA causes TOO MANY problems and i wouldnt trust it with the unlocker.
Hi all, have floated around the forum for a definitive but not really got my question answered, so here goes....
I have several V1605 Vodafone Hermes/Tytn devices in our organisation that i would like to upgrade to WM6, as the Voda default rom is appalling.
I have upgraded 2 or 3 to Black Majik etc, but i want to upgrade the rest from the default voda to HTC official, however i get the following:
A, INvalid vendor ID on one device
B, Connection error on another
In A, is there a custom ruu package with a non vendor specific ID, although i dont see why.
B, Flumoxed, goes to Bootloader flix on and on, even for a split second shows the grey screen and a progress bar, then Connection error.
Err, anyone got any clues?
TIA

For the A question, in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1410956&postcount=82 you can find WWE version with CustomRRU. Take care to have the last HardSPL before flash. You can flash the Radio ROM in second stage. If you want other languaje, in the thread you can find more if you take time to read it
For the B question, can be an USB issue (cable or USB port on the PC). Try on other PC and other cable.
Various errors - part 2
Thanks for A, however B, i have tried on several different machines still the same error, its weird and i have never seen one like this before....
Thanks
hard spl users guid
jcespi2005, ran through the guide for hard spl, failded.

Try to use a XP box instead a Vista one, and select SSPL to install HardSPL. This must work.
no
It doesnt, however if failed, but my spl is now 2.03
both custom ruu and official rom fail on error 260
Hi,
If these are Vodafone devices are they unlocked? If they are still locked then you will have to unlock them first then install Hard SPL 2.10 Olipro before attempting what you want to do.
Have a look in the wiki; its all in there. Feel free to come back if you need more help.
Good luck.
WB
....that was my next question....
So i unlock them first?
~clearly i do.....
~Will give it a go...
one done...
one of them is now unlocked and upgraded...Thanks.
The other has an ipl of 1.00 and an spl 2.03
can this be unlocked with the unlock tool and then upgraded or do i downgrade the spl?
Thanks all....
Hello, just to start I will say that I'm completely new to PDAs, because I got my HTC TyTN a few days ago. So I had WM5 and I installed WM6 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320829
But then I saw the Schap's WM6 Pro 4.20 Roms, which had TouchFLO installed and tried to install the full version, when it asked for Bootloader version I ticked the SP 2.02/2.10 (or whatever it was), because it was the closest to my Bootloader version - 2.03 (if I'm not mistaken). It started installing but after few seconds it displayed me some error. I don't remember what was the error, I only remember that it said that something was corrupted. So I would really appreciate any help installing Schap's WM6.
P.S As I said i'm newbie with PDAs, so please if you try to expain what should I do make it a bit more .... simple .
I'd suggest using the detect spl option when you try flashing. If you still get an error I would highly recommend posting the details so you can get the correct help.
There are several ways to get in touch with a new rom.
Please read the wiki, there should be everything explained.
Hermes Wiki
If nothing works there is only one solution for me, yet.
Then I have to change manually to bootloader mode and flash the original latest provider rom. After this step I am able to flash a rom of my choice again. regards
"Error, Unknown version! You should pick safe SSPL" is the error that i get when I try the Autodetect. Should I try using safe SSPL or ... ?
I also forgot to mention that I'm using Windows Vista. I heard that there were some problems updating ROMs using the Windows Mobile Device Center, so perhaps this is the problem ?
To start with I strongly recomend you read the WIKI.
As first base you should install HARD SPL (again read the WIKI).
After you'll have hard spl on yor TyTN you should use autodetect.
(Make sure you are fully connected in Windows Mobile Device Center befor any of the above)
I've installed HardSPL guided by http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=30&Itemid=27
but I still get the same error. I also changed the WMDC drivers with those from AS again beign guided from the above link. Should I tick the SPL-2.02/2.10/2.30 New Bootloader or what should I do ?
Flash using an SD card.
YES pick Safe SSPL, it will run through and be fine. Sometimes that happens.
Flash a stock WM5 ROM. Get into windows. Download HARD-SPL (2.10). Use the force SPPL option while activesynced (GUEST) to flash the BOOTLOADER. Get back into windows, and use the same procedure for the OS ROM. Use force SSPL while activecyned..
Hey Guys,
I was trying to flash ToO's Cricket Rom to an HTC Sprint Vogue and after the process was finished it is stuck on the "HTC Smart Mobility" screen. I used an unlocker by cokeman before flashing I I think I need to re-lock the handset to flash it back to the original sprint ROM. However I need the older sprint rom and not the new one with GPS. When I put the phone in bootloader mode this is what it says:
It says:
VOGU100
SPL-0.41 Coke
CPLD-3
Where can I get the older ROM for the sprint vogue?
Update:
I am not able to load the original Sprint ROM. It errors out everytime at about 29%

Check PPCGeeks, there is a thread with factory ROM's.
Try doing this check your registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arcosoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\MMSCsettings\make sure you only have one entry: Cricket MMS if you have another named Default or Sample, delete them and then try again; if it fails Delete all, soft re-boot and then install your ROM. Good luck.

I'm a little confused on the issue. If you want to flash roms with GPS you need to be unlocked with Imcokes 2.31 not 0.41 unlocker. Once unlocked you can flash to the stock roms. I flash back to Sprints stock GPS rom all the time. Be careful of flashing from a GPS rom back to a non GPS rom. This could cause some issues.
If you are trying to relock your phone thats a different issue.
EDIT: After rereading. Did you try flashing from a non gps rom to a gps rom or vice versa? Your phone looks to be unlocked with a non-gps unlocker. Is the cricket rom GPS?
When flashing a custom ROM your Vogue needs to be unlock with 2.31 (GPS) or .40 (non GPS). Not too sure about cricket but would assume if you have a radio version of 3.xx.xx would be GPS. Hopefully you have not bricked your Vogue.
You may find more help at ppcgeeks.com or ppchaven.com.
You may have to resort flashing your ROM in the bootloader mode,
SAME PROBLEM with Vogue
I think I have the same problem as the one who started this thread. here is what I did:
I unlocked a Vogue with the non-gps unlocker (SPL-0.41.Coke)
then I loaded a GPS rom onto the phone (OMJ 3.09)
and now it is stuck at the HTC Screen.
I then tried to flash a stock ROM to the phone, but as descreibed above it will not fully load- it stops at 29 percent- tried it a couple times.
I then tried the OMJ 3.09 again and it still stuck in HTC Screen, and says "No radio.'
I am trying to figure out what to do. I was told by someone to load a GPS radio into it and see if it boots. I have the radio to install but not sure if thats best bet.
I was told by someone else to install nongps radio and then install a nongps rom.
One concern I have is that I will brick my phone that way (if i try to downgrade to a nongps radio after installing a gps rom...but im not sure that the gps rom actually installed a gps radio or not cuz my phone was only .41 unlocked)
Also, I cant seem to install a stock rom because it stops at 29 percent.
Any ideas?
Thanks

to anyone else with this problem- I just installed this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=357762
and all was well including radio.
Just thought that I would post what happened to my phone and the steps that eventually recovered it in case it helps somebody else:
My phone was stuck with "No Radio" on the boot loader screen and the SPL as "SPL-2.31.CoKe", but none of the 3.x ROMs would flash properly that I tried. So here are the steps that eventually recovered it (mostly...):
1.) I installed the ROM above from the tri-color screen (power+camera+reset). I still had no radio, but it was letting me past this and booting up to WM.
2.) I then re-flashed the 2.31.CoKe boot loader (not sure if this step is necessary but listing what worked...)
3.) I tried to install RUU_Vogue_VZW_WWE_3.14.605.1_Radio_3.37.78_Ship.exe but it failed at 10% restarting to RUUNBH screen and the installer gave me Error [290]: Invalid Command
4.) I then tried to install the latest sprint ROM straight from the HTC site:_Touch by HTC (Sprint)_RUU_PPST_Vogue_SPRINT_WWE_3.03.651.4_2_Radio_3.42.30_AM_NV_2.04_Ship this looked like it was going to fail at the same part the Verizon rom did as it rebooted at 10% to RUUNBH screen, but the Sprint installer did something (I heard the computer lose and gain connection multiple times) and eventually it went right back and continued on from 11% and finished successfully.
5.) Rebooted and I had a radio now! Rather then risking trying to install the Verizon ROM again I went straight to the custom ROM I had originally started out with: NFSFAN 6.5 V6 which is working fine for me, except the GPS which is what started out my adventure of the last 3 days...
Just a note: for all flashes except the final one I simply waited till it was at the "Tap the screen..." stage till flashing. I never let any ROM but the final one run it's customization.
I have only recently found this site and I would like some information regarding flashing my Rhodium with a Hard SPL
Do I need to unlock the device before a Hard SPL flash. My device is on a t-mobile contract but it has worked with an O2 simcard.
Is there a set of instructions for flashing a ROM. I read that I need to be connected to windows mobile software but some of the hard SPL seem to be an exe file while others are RUU.

1 : dont need to unlock anything. (i installed Hard SPL on an HTC HD from Orange without problems)
2 : As far as i know, there are no Hard SPL for TP2 (yet).
But it shouldnt be any different from other HTC phones around.
Instructions for the TP (NOT TP2, so dont try dont download this HARD SPL, its just an example) are on the Wiki :
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Raphael_HardSPL
But to sum up, yes you need to have your phone plugged into Activesync, then run the EXE file from your computer. It will then display you the instructions steps to install Hard SPL.
It takes 5 minutes, and its easy.
The only requirements is to have at least 50% battery.

once hard spl is realeased for tp2(currently work in progress) there will also be a security/sim unlocker available(not sure if will be free). some phones need to be security unlocked prior to flashing. all tools needed to flash will be provided. most common are via custom RUU but there may also be a micro sd methos as well. your phone seems to be sim unlocked but may need to be security unlocked before flashing new roms. put phone in boot loader mode(hold vol down and power up device when off) and it should say security unlocked at top if it is. if it doesnt say that they it may need it.
Htc Blackstone is closest device in terms of compatibility with tp2 so check in that forum so any further explanation on whatever issues you may be confused about!
my phone says, ' Rhod 100 32M SS-BC', but no mention of unlocked.
