Hi ppl!
I'm newbie on this, but, i'm having a problem with this because i really need the phone and now i can't install any rom...
i have the artemis touch 3.01 rom, and i tried lots of stuff, like, uspl... downgrade to factory..etc and everytime that the device reboot, to bootloader, the screen stays white for a while.. and the rom installer gives me an error...
i disconnected the firewall and everything...
Anyone knows what to do? please?
This rom is pretty and everything, but it is SO slow... :S
Thanx for your time..
Regards
Remove you microsd, maybe it's the cause.
...
No...it's not that... i tried it already...:S
Thanks anyway! I really apreciated!
try 1-3 below
1- which active sync you are using?
try uninstall then re install active sync 4.5
2- try different pc (laptop) better in case of power issues
3- soft-rest your phone b4 flashing some applications like battery status does not allow proper procedure running
4- good luck
Hi All,
first of all... if this question is being asked at the wrong place.. please let me know ;-)
Well.. i have a question.. I have a daxian x999 and want to upgrade the OS.. The OS on this device isn't fast and can be quite unstable sometimes..
anyone can tell me how i can upgrade this device?? I'm a complete newbie on this one.. so any help would be appreciated..
thanks!!!
no one has a clue??
Rom
hi there!
the problem with the daxian x999 is, that until now no one managed to extract the bootloader!
i tried almost every software i found here... no success!
i was able to extract the rom, but that doesn´t help too much
and another thing that is very sad, is that no one from the "knowing Guys" here is interested in helping us!!!
there was just one senior member trying to help me... (thanx again the_eqionoxe!!!)
i expected some more help from a forum with that much experience...
regards
chuckbert
You say you were able to extract the rom, please share how you did this ....

Sorry i found it in the very next search
As far as I know it should be presented in the form of a imgfs file (can be cooked by any kitchen). (*but I am not 100 % shure, I don't have a daxian to experiment with)
But I am unaware about the XIP format .
If we had a look @ a original update.img then we could say how it was compiled, and hopefully port other rom's to it.
any have yep put 6.1 on this phone?
I have a daxian x999 but its in chinese & if i cant get it exchanged will want to change the windows rom to an english one - cant find the english rom though (& need to learn how to do it too lol)
I used SPB backup to restore my data, and stopped it midway, now my power button does not turn on the screen. So I have to wait for a phone call to come in for the screen to come on.
Anyone know if I use an editor for registery if there is a place to turn this back on.
Thanks, if not, then I will start to research how to get deeper into the phone, as it is useless to me know.

Have u tried a soft reset?????? or maybe a "master clean up" as it is called on the phone???
also if someone here is going deep into the phone, can some1 figure out how to 'manage' the accelerometer for the current application/settings of it seem pretty dull... i don't know if it helps, but the process which rotates the screen is called acc_ap and you can find it in the start up folder
Yes, I tried the soft reset, memory clear, and hard 3-button reset, no joy.
nobody tried with pdocwrite as MUN_rus has done with HTC wizard G4??
WARNING This device needs OTHER drivers than a HTC ELF(in), so make sure you cook a ROM with the proper drivers!!.
You can probably dump the rom by the reverse command pdocread..
Haven't tried it myself, as I have stated before, I have no daxian 999 to experiment with myself..
hii
i got the following problem: i usually uses a custom rom but now i got a stock rom. i flashed 7 roms last 2 days for the following reason: after i installed a rom (i have hard spl1.40) the rom works perfectly but when i go and install my cabs theres gonna be a problem: the cab will install, i can play around for some 15 minutes with my diamond and then the phone freezes and i need to do a soft reset. NOW the diamond stuck at the diamond screen with red letters. i can do a hard reset etc. but this is very annoying!! please help me! it happenend with ezinput cab too. i dont know why it happens!! heeeeeelp xD!
EDIT: the small cabs from small size works perfectly but it are mostly big cabs like ezinput etc..
sounds like your device in in desperate need of this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540290&highlight=mtty
If you perform mtty (which is basically a format tool) before flashing any rom most of this weird problems disappear.
but i dont understand mtty its sooo hard.
and it even happens with an stock rom (official)
isnt that weird?
i was very resistent to use mtty too, cuz i thought it was so complicated i couldn't get my head around it. But after i had to give it a try (i screwed up someone elses diamond very bad ), i found out it wasn't as hard as i thought, just read carefully and keep in mind that it is only a tool to format your device so you can perform a fresh install on it (in puter terms...format C drive and install Windows).
Mtty even reports back that it tries to erase bad blocks, just like checkdisk from Windows does
The fact that it happens now with a stock rom is not that weird, cuz your 'Cdrive' is 'outta shape' (cuz of flashing different roms of different sizes taking up different spaces)., and really needs to be formatted.
Give it a go...your device is practically useless now to so whata you gotta loose...lol...no, sorry just a joke!
heey man. i did mtty and it was sooo easy eheh. i did it.
i finished all the mtty stuff and i flashed a new rom.
i am now going to install all my cabs xD.
But what do i have to do if it didnt worked?
i just flashed this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=506533
did someone used it too?
gave it problems??
thanks nirak
EDIT: I THINK ITS SOLVED!! BUT IM NOT SURE YET! if there is appearing a problem again i wil post it here!!
THANKS TO NIRAK AND MYSTICGENIUS FOR THE MTTY **** xD
PS: Nirak can i have your msn? im dutch too^^
hehe...glad it worked out!
well, at first glance the bug report of this rom looks very promising , haven't had this one on my diamond, but makereval is an old (as in experienced) cook, so i wouldn't worry to much.
btw...if mtty would have given an error this community would have helped you out, esp MysticGenius (owner of mtty thread) is the 'god of mtty' and always willing to help if you get stuck.
Nevertheless there's always a small change that we (as in noobs...lol...) brick our device so we have to send it to diamonds heaven...but he...what's life without a thrill every now and then
hehe ok,
can i have your msn?^^
Hi all, for all the people like me who do not have the patience or knowledge do adventure themselves in the mitty thread.
This program already exists for X1, HD2, TP2 (for what I know) and I have tested it and it works.
After some search on this forum I have talked to agent_47, who was kind enough to make a task29 program for our HTC Diamonds (GSM version).
Agent_47 or me do not take any responsibility for ay damage done to your device. Use it at your own risk, and only after you have HSPL already installed on your device.
Do not know what a HSPL is, check here:

now we can mtty our "HTC Diamond" without having the need of MTTY and its drivers
INSTRUCTIONS:
- download and unzip
- run then ROMUpdateUtility.exe and wait for it to finish.....
- device will reboot but will neva go past the bootscreen coz there is no OS to boot
- take our batti and then flash a rom using mSD card or by taking device into bootloader and using customRUU to load ur favorite ROM
DOWNLOAD:
http://rs604.rapidshare.com/files/407049148/task29-diamond.7z
WHATS TASK29\MTTY
when u flash a rom, you are copying files onto the internal memory (like duh!) but if u repeatadly flash different roms, sometimes files from older version stays behind as when u flash a rom, you just copy and sometimes overwrite files without deleting the older ones. hence at times these older files may create bugs\instability. hardrest donot always fix it.so we use MTTY
but the thing is, mtty is and can be hard to use for new users. ... for me,, i was having the worst time installin the drivers needed to run mtty on win7 x64. so u i made this tool for me and for all

and I would add to agent_47, as he adapted this tool for the HTC Diamond
Did anyone tried this?
What's the verdict?
mmm. interesting.
Thanks for the share and all your hard work but this is actually harder than mitty for me and i am a windows 7 user also

I do not understand how this is possible, I am using Vista and this is as easy as flashing a ROM with a computer. You just connect the device via USB to the Diamond, let active sync finish. Then you just need to run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" and follow the instructions.
I have tested this, and I can confirm this is working for the European HTC Diamond (bought in Portugal).
This was not made by me, but I do think that more people will benefit with this program. Hopefully people will overcome the initial resistance to change.
Great idea!
I used to MTTY through VMWare Windows XP x86 within my host Windows 7 x64. It was a pain in the ass to get though but it always worked for me. This is a great time saver!
Regards to both of you Johev and agent_47!
Willing to test on my next flash.
Best regards,
Cina.

What do you mean? take out battery?
Gonna try this with my next flash
Yeah, the sentence is a bit odd to me to
i asume it means take out battery but still..
i'm not gonna try it until i know it for sure!
--edit--
i couldn't help it and used it anyway..
i assumed "take our batti" means take out battery cuz it worked for me!
my diamond was clean (i guess) and i'm now enjoying a new rom!
Thanx guys!!
I would never post something that I did not test first.
I am glad that you liked it, and I really think it is much simpler then the mitty thread.
Good luck flashing.

I LOVE THIS TOOL
this isn't good for my ORD.. i'm flashing the hell out of my diamond now!
Getting a HD2 in about a month.. can't wait for it ;D
I tried it, but I only get the start screen with "Touch diamond", no bootloader.
But I´ve installed HARDSPL Olinex, because I already flashed other ROM´s.
How can I solve this problem?
What about battery? When I have to get it out, when I can put it in again...?
fibula
to get into bootloader you have to reset your device while holding the volume down button!
then you will get the tri-color screen,
connect your diamond to your pc and flash a rom with a RUU!

To get into bootloader with my diamond:
1) Turn Diamond off, take out battery for 5 seconds.
2) Put battery back inside, and press and hold the centre button (circle) and turn ON the device (hold both buttons) until you see a 3 colour screen
If step 2 does not work, try pressing holding volume down while turning the device on (hold the ON button too). Remember to take out the battery before you do this.
Hope this helps.
Hi!
Does this work by simply copying any ROM's nbh file (instead of radio*.nbg) to folder and executing ROMUpdateUtility.exe? Will it MTTY before flashing the ROM?
Currently I'm trying this method out. It is around at 50% of flashing progress.
I'll report back.
Cina.
thanks a ton dude.... magnificent work...
Now if there were only a way to do it directly from Internal Storage, without RUU...
It does not work the way I described. It hangs on HTC Diamond black boot screen and no red lines appears in lower right corner (no OS recognized).
So you have to flash 2 times. Radio flash is shorted for the first attempt and on the second turn you flash your ROM with CustomRUU.
There is a similiar tool like this with the method working with other devices I described above. FlashaholicRUU. Someone give it a try for Diamond. Next week I'll do it and report back.
Cheers,
Cina.

I remember to see that post on xda developers front page short time ago, but I was not sure if it would work for HTC Diamond.
A universal task29 that would format and flash the device in one single process.
Ironically it was developed a few weeks after I have found an alternative way to mitty that I posted here.
So far I did not hear that it was compatible with Diamond, so I will not risk it.
It's nice to have all these options, because when I searched for something like this a few months ago, I could only find the mitty threat that has more than 80 posts.
For me it was strange as newer devices with very similar hardware and software already had something like this, but Diamond users had to use mitty.
Well I am glad that you like it, and hopefully I helped someone that was not able or willing to do it manually.
Hi,
experiencing a problem with my Xda O2 branded German Touch Diamond:
after switching on the WiFi the device rebooted itself and continued to reboot permanently until I remove the battery. Battery is full actually.
I flashed the original ROM successfully (previous one was a BliZZard custom ROM v5), but the device is still continues to reboot.
For warranty reasons I need to flash the original stock SPL back, but no success with this. I flashed it couple ot times and the flashing CustomRUU.exe showed success each time. But after prooving the SLP it still shows 1.93.Olinex.
I tried also any other HardSPLs like Olinex 1.37... again the same problem. 1.93.Olinex is showed on boot.
Any idea how to solve the flashing problem or maybe also any hint about the reboot problem?
I have important stuff on the 4 GB internal flash. How can I read the contets considering the above problem?
Any help highly apprechiated!
Cheers

Any chance to MTTY? Might help, just guessing...
Or try to flash a new radio ROM as the wifi hardware might be stuck in a state that is unknown to the drivers. Flashing a radio is supposed to reset hardware but I may be wrong.
Really guessing here but symptoms shows relation to radio hardware.
Cheers,
Cina.
sspl
You need to run sspl first before flashing to the stock SPL. I did had this same problem changing my HSPL before.
You can find the sspl on the olipro CID/Security/Sim Unlocker, I think.
Hello, my solution to this was conductive interconnect of metalic parts as you can see here
://i.ytimg.com/vi/UUnH8O-1jII/0.jpg
(of course with http on the beginning, i'm not allowed to post links)
on the left with aluminium tape (sorry for image quality, found it on web).
It also seems that the sim card reader has to be conductively connected with the above em shielding.
Hope it will help
it´s a battery problem ... get a different one and your phone should be fine

Please correct me if I am wrong. But as far as I understood, it is only possible to SSPL the phone after running the system on it (e.g. inside windows mobile) and not from outside (e.g. USB connection or so). The problem is, that I cannot access win mobile at all! It is continuosly rebooting in an infinite loop. Not even able to see the windows mobile logo at start.
@cina
how do I MTTY the phone? any idea, link, tool? again: if I have to be "in the system" in order to check, whats wrong, then it will fail.
@edefux
Do you already had such a case? I am not sure, if buying a new battery is economical enough only in order to try, if it works. I admit, it could be the battery. But running the phone with the charger switched on, should show if its the battery or not. I tried with charger on, but obviously this didn't solve the problem. Or do you mean, that in the battery there is some sort of "short circuit", that's confusing the Diamond no matter if the charger is on or not?
@DiamondFlower
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try, when I tried everything else
This will be the final try before burrying the precious Diamond.

See this post for MTTY. This is the second post on Diamond ROM thread pinned for easy access anyway. Please search before you post!
If you can enter bootloader mode with VolDown pressed while reboot you're off to go. You can plug in USB cable and you can flash SPL, Radio or any new ROM. I assumed this based on your first post:

it is a battery problem i´m 99,9% sure of it - i had the same case ... it was driving me crazy ... different roms, radios, but the problem persisted - luckily at that time i was working at a cell phone provider and could try different hardware, which finally brought me to the solution to switch the battery.

Maybe I'm a bit unlucky, but I've got the 0,1%. Took a new battery, this didn't solve the problem though.
i´m sorry it didn´t work for you ... !
it's ok! it didn't work - actually I could have thought about it wont work: beforehand I sent the item to the mobile operator guarantee team and they returned it back - no warranty of course (due to olinex bootloader which I wasn't able to remove) and stating: Fremdeinwirkung/ Totalschaden (total loss). And because I sent it without battery and they obviously checked it ... suppose with a fresh or "good" battery. And it still didn't work for them, so...
I'll try to open it and see if there is some short circuit around the metal shielding. Maybe I'm lucky then.
Anyway thanks guys about the hints and suggestions!

I'm not sure if its called sspl but you can run it from boot loader and it will black out your phone. after that you need flash the new bootloader.
I'm thinking its not a bootloader problem though...
