Original MDA pro ROM

Does anyone have an original ROM for the MDA pro?

did you update your mda pro? To which rom version? I tried 2 update my dutch Tmobile mda pro but got a 120 error (language error).

Here's the way to update your ROM to imate but we still haven't gotten to the original rom. "Anyone??"

it seems that the mda pro has d2s commands turned off. So the device is locked from getting image dumps.
At least I have no clue how to make one with the current tools.
btw. How can you make a extended rom that can be used with the upgrade program. I want to revert back to my original rom, but it seems there is no possible way to do it.
Does anyone know the gprs settings for the mda-pro as it is not entered in the imate image.
ps I have the mda-pro dutch version.

GPRS settings:
Go to start -> Settings-> connections->advanced tab->select networks->then edit.
Then select New, Enter a name for the connection. The modem must be GPRS, 3G.->next->access point name is wap ->next-> username is tmobile and password is tmobile -> advanced-> servers -> select use specific server address -> enter at DNS 10.10.10.10 -> click OK button top right -> select finish.

Try a different settings.
Create a new connection.
Now use the following settings:
Access Point Name: internet
username: tmobile
password: tmobile
Do not change or enter any server settings.

OK I see most of the guys are dutch so I can ask...
I want to change the ROM of my Dutch MDA-PRO unlocket with KPN subscription to the JASJAR ROM, is it risky and does it work wel.
What is missing in the JAS JAR ROM, like maybe the Dutch t9 or any other settings does the video call work ?
What happens if there is a new JASJAR ROM will it symply install or do we have to patch things again ??

Actually, I don't know anything yet about the differences between the stock MDA rom and the Jasjar rom published here.
Except the fact that it has a slightly higher rom number, that is......
And because my stock MDA Pro is one of the most stable phone edition devices I used so far there is no reason whatsoever to change to Jasjar rom and void my T-Mobile warranty completely.
If there is a way to make a complete rom image then the situation is different ofcourse. But I have not found a way to do that yet......

Help with Gprs Settings

Hi there i have a m2000 running helmis 1.3.2 wm5 unlocked on vodafone , having no memory card i couldnt follow the instructions for the extrom folder so was wondering how i can setup my gprs and mms etc for use on vodafone (UK if that helps) , i did try but i keep getting "the ansewring modem has disconnected"
can someone help me?

My guess is that you could use the UK T-Mobile cab's for GPRS & MMS and then just change access points, password etc for Vodaphone. I assume you have the T-Mobile cab's.

Do you mean you searched your local machine or the internet?
In the EXTROM directory of Helmi's ROM directory is a subdirectory called Operator. Use UK_T-Mobile_MMS.cab for MMS and then edit to Vodaphone. For GPRS I suggest Vodafone_GPRS.cab.
I am with T-Mobile and I had to search around a bit for MMS & GPRS when I flashed the Helmi ROM. I think the instructions relating to EXTROM are a bit vague.

Rogers have released the Excalibur as the S621 here. I hope to get a unit later in the week. All reports indicate its identical to the HTC model & runs WM5.

I've gotten my S621 and it is the same as the s620. I paid the std. 20GBP to unlock it from imei-check.co.uk.
The only issue is that the SDA Application unlock does not work.. it gives the error "The phone is unlockable" and you can't modify the registry becuase the sda application unlock does not work.
I haven't attempted to flash the ROM yet as I don't have a way of backup up my current ROM in case it doesn't work or I don't like it.

Well i will be the first to ask if anyone who gets this, can u find the apps for rogers radio and video on demand? This will be huge for all HSPDA Users on rogers here in this forum

I'm not a rogers customer so I wouldn't be able to use those feature. I'm using the phone with Fido.

I reflashed my phone with the excalibur rom.

I can send from my HTC S620 but when people reply to it or send me MMS back I get msg expired on server error

I get the same message has expired error when ppl send me MMS, I get the notification but when I click on download it gives me the error.

Can you tell me how to back up the ROM? if it can be done? I plan to flash my S621 tomorrow.. !

What I like about the Rogers version is, there's no ugly Rogers logo silkscreend on it.
it's basically the unbranded HTC phone.

yes, I but the startup sound is rather loud aye!!?? I also didnt like the layout of the "desktop" where the icons are for the apps. HTC has a folder called "Office" for the clearvuw apps.
I just flashed my S621 this morning. Nice. I took a copy of the Rogers Desktop and sound from the Windows Folder first.
Just waiting on a WM6 build to be released. A few more weeks I guess.

Yeah I am looking for a way, since there are varried ways for each type of unit. for now I would ask that you look in the windows folder for anything relating to the rogers applications.

I didnt see any rogers specific apps in the Windows folder. I copied the .XML for the 2 rogers home Screens and also some sounds. The Rogers sound.
One of the reasons I wanted to flash the phone.. when turning it on it makes a LOUD rogers sound with the Carrier animation. Nice, but you cant change it or turn it off.
Anyway, the phone is Flashed as the HTC S620 now, and I will sell my original S620

what the ROM ver you flashed in it ?
What is your ROM ver now ? is it lower than Rogers Branded ? what radio ver on it now ?
also can you upload it if its higher ver, or pm me , if you dont mind

Yeah Cingul....AT&T has done that to their newer Roms as well but it was the sound of a jet flying.

sorry, I cant remember. I booted it only twice, then flashed it.
I sold my original HTC S620 last night. Using the Rogers S621 as S620

Has anyone figured out the message has expired problem? I can send mms no problem, but cannot receive!
Any input? I have a s620 t mobile. Thanks.

I got it to work! Here is what I did:
Start -> settings -> connections -> gprs -> menu -> add:
Connects to: secure wap network (use any but make sure you use the same in the next step)
Access point: media.com
User name: media
Password: mda01
IP address: 172.25.0.107
Start -> messaging -> highlight mms and click menu -> settings -> menu -> mmsc settings
Now you can either add a new one or edit the existing one that is in there.
MMSC URL: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
WAP gateway: 172.25.0.107
Port: 80
Connect via: Secure WAP Network (must be the same one you used in the step above)
WAP version: WAP 2.0
That should do it. If it gives you an error about the download being expired, just hit the menu and click download anyway.

Have the ROGERS ROM the Spanish ???
I have one unlocked DASH fron T Mobile and need the spanish but after more of 20 days can't find any ROM to change to spanish.
My DASH have the original HTC ROM.

Orange UK 3G/GPRS settings on mUn 2.01TE

I've installed mUn's 2.01TE ROM and my 3G/GPRS doesnt work at all, can't send MMS or browse the new over 3G or GPRS.
Can someone send me a cab with the Orange UK settings or tell me how to set it up? it's changed from WM5 to WM6 and I can't find a guide how to add the settings on the new version.

Your fix, above, seems to do the trick (clever stuff!) but I was just wondering how you managed to determine the information?...

MMS on Three Australia with Schaps rom's

Has anyone been able to get MMS working on Three Australia??
I've been trying for the last few days and it's work with pretty much all other customized roms.. but this one is giving me issues? Maybe something to do with device identity on three servers or maybe this new version of arcsoft broke something???
I'm 100% certain settings are correct. I've tried with network setup wizard, and the following:
Gateway: 10.176.57.25
Port: 8799
Server address: http://mmsc.three.net.au:10021/mmsc
Connect via: (3 services connection, whatever it's called?) Mine is MY ISP
also tried with:
Server address: http://mmsc.three.com.au:10021/mmsc
No juice at all.. anyone else want to confirm on three Australia?? Oh and sorry about making a new thread for this.. I tried posting this in schaps thread but no response many times. I'm just looking for ANYONE to test and confirm this.

Also on Three Australia, running Schaps 3.54c. I don't usually use mms but just tried to send and it didn't work, using settings from the network wizard (checked against what I had previously sourced from aussie3g)

Hey thanks for that.. just wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy... It annoys me a bit, because I'm really REALLY loving this rom.. besides the mms thing, not one glitch and has everythign i need...

im running 3.54c and i am getting MMS with 3 Australia no issues at all. the settings are correct but as it has been posted before on other sites, you have to ring 3care and report a fault. tell them mms doesnt work just play along with them with regards to OS (stock 3 ROM) and settings.
they need to reset your 'individual profile' on the server. i had to get this done as MMS were not sending at all. it took about 3-4 days but i got fixed and MMS are working fine, send and receieve with only a minimal delay (2min max) between send and recieve.
just make sure your connect via settings has the APN 3services. Also WAP 2.0 and 300kb limit.
.... on another note 3.60a beta did not work with 3australia and the MMS settings, so i had to go back to 3.54c.....

That's really strange... because the simcard and network is fine, i've tested it in other phones without issue.. i've been tru hell with mms before where it wouldn't send and then three did reset the profile and all was good. but this is a different issue and it's strange how it didn't work in the beta but it's working for you in 3.54c as techincally their both the same, it's just 3.60a beta is based on a new build of wm6.... and both are using the same version of arcsoft as well.

Oh and one other thing I noticed... if you change to wap 2.0 so does the port number from 8799 (which it's supposed to be) to 8080 (which is the default for wap 2.0). I would double check your settings and see what their set to because it's not making much sense...

thats why the 3.60a ROM doesnt work.... it auto selects the port based on WAP version. the 3.54c version does not do this and therefore still works

argh, why did I test this for you?! It's bugging me too now. I have the same situation where the port changes based on the wap version, running 3.54c (just checked in case I was being really stupid)
so it looks like we either have the wrong port or the wrong wap....
strange that it is working for one person.

Well actually 3.54c does do this (change the port to 8080 on wap2.0). Everyone else's post in here confirm this.
And too be honest.. i don't think that's what's causing the issues, because well wap1.2 should still work...

yes it does auto select a port number when u select the Wap version but if u overwrite it, it does not revert back to the original number, so u can select wap 2.0 and then overwrite the value back to 8799 and select ok. it should then stay on that port number.
I work in the industry and i must say that this issue only arises on cooked ROMS. i dont know if this will help but i have attached a hutchison file that was from the extrom of the dopod rom. i dont know what it contains but it may help

hmm.. well i'm running 3.54c and i can confirm.. if you change the port then hit ok.. go back into the settings and you'll see the port / wap version has been changed automatically for you...

well i dont know why thats happening.
did you set up a new configuration or overwrite the sample one??
ive been testing my phone since i saw this post and for some reason, if i select WAP 2.0 it will select Port 8080. i then overwrite it to 8799 and select ok.... never changes back to 8080 (unless i select WAP 2.0 again)

same happens with me, if I overwrite it will revert to the original. This happens with new and existing mms servers

Are you sure your running 3.54c because outside of your post, no one else can confirm what your reporting...

ROM date: 07/05/07
Radio Version: 1.51.00.10
Protocol Version: 32.84.7020.20H
i can confirm also that this ROM can accept MMS send and recieve using 3australia with the settings that were mentioned in this post. i work for 3 and it took me 6 days of 3care communication to relsove the issue... they changed settings on their side on *my* account and now it works. the phone does not revert back to the 8080 port on *my* dopod838pro i could only get mms to work if i
a) installed the hutchison cab i posted before
b) DID NOT run the network wizard that cam with the ROM
c) entered the settings manually for connection and for MMS
d) overwrote the sample MMS settings

Hmm.. thanks for all your help drooch... but i just don't see how it makes sense. I think you must be the exception. I know if I change the port to 8799 when i hit ok, and go back into the settings it's reading wap 1.2.
Also the network wizard just automates the manual input of settings, and i've looked over all the settings and can not find any differences between those and the ones listed here.
Not sure what the cab does either, but i installed it with out any luck and I've also set many times 3mms to the default connection for mms settings but it hasn't made any difference..
there is a glitch somewhere between us on three and this customized rom. I just wish I could find it already because I love the rom.

Network Wizard
I've had the same problem of WAP 2.0 selection defaulting to Port 8080 and it appears to be associated with running the Network Wizard.
I did a hard reset, entered the network settings manually then did the MMS settings - Port 8799, WAP Version 2.0, and everything worked.
So at least for 3 Australia, the advice is, don't run the network wizard, input your operator settings manually.

so to use 3MMS use the settings that were posted in the first post BUT DO NOT run network wizard, you must hard reset if u have used it.

Ahh.. well thats some damn useful information!!!
I can't quite hard-reset my phone rite now either to test it, cuz I got too much stuff I need, but definitely handy info!!! I wonder if this applies to all roms??
