New Unversal ROM T-Mobile Germany with AKU2

T-Mobile Germany has released a new ROM (AKU2-Update). I Have Uploaded it to the ftp-Server (Filename: TMOB_DEU_pro_aku2.0_05-2006.zip).
Works fine with my MDA Pro. AKU2 works with Exchange and the speed (I think) its faster.
I have no problems.
ROM Version: 1.30.113 GER
ROM Datum: 04/13/2006
Radio Version: 1.10.03
Protokoll-version: 42.44.P8
ExtRom-version: 1.30.223 GER

Do you know if I can have this on my English T-Mobile Pro? Will I be able to set the language to English? Will I still be able to have QWERT*Y*UIP along the top, or is the Y moved?.

Yes, it supports A2DP .... I have tested it!

BE CAREFUL - NEW BOOTLOADER
If you are waiting for an unlocking solution, DO NOT DO THIS UPGRADE. It contains a new version of the Universal Bootloader, which could make unlocking in the future impossible.

No, the Roms normally only contain one language at a time. Unfortunately you have to wait for the english one to be released. But once the german one is released, all other language versions should come very shortly.

skip bootloader-upgrade
I wonder whether it is possible to skip the bootloader-upgrade (bl.nbf) and just load the OS & EXTROM.
Anyone have an idea if this will harm the operation/stability of the device?

"Benutzer" is the Account you are logged in
pftxx.tmp -> xx is changing everytime you run the update...

Definietely not. T-Mobile says on the download page (in German) that an AKU2 upgrade which is compatible with BB will be out in July.

installed the update 2 days ago - everything was working fine, surfing around, testing A2DP, WLAN, etc.
...but since yesterday i can not connect to the internet aymore.
It dials in via UMTS/GPRS, connects but nothing more. MyIpConfig.exe says:

IP Address: 172.21.30.136
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway: 172.21.30.136 <-?? the device itself is the default gateway??

Has anyone from germany a clou why/if these settings are incorrect? Anyone else the same problem?
Can someone not using aku2 post his network-settings when dialed in?
I tried reinstalling update and resetting device several times, when updating setup leaves information about currently installed versions of radio, ce and rom empty...is this the usual way?

got it now working. The Problem was the germen resellerdebitel, who changed the dns-IP. Very kind of them don't telling anyone about the changes.

I just unlocked my Universal and now I'd like to upgrade my rom to the new T-Mobile rom because mine is from August last year. So my question is: will the phone still be unlocked after the reflash - if not can I reunlock it?
Is there any easy rom extractor available?

I did the upgrade, and my phone stays unlocked. So go on and have fun, the new ROM ist GREAT Added Dopod's Radio 1.11.0, seems to consume less battery now, and now I have UMTS in my living room (which I did not have with Radio 1.6.0)

T-Mobile MDA Mail

Hello I´m from Germany and since yesterday i have an T-Mobile MDA Mail.

The device seems to be an HTC S620 (aka T-Mobile DASH (USA) or O2 Cosmo).
But there´s a strange thing !! In the Comm-Manager i can´t activate the WiFi.
There´s no point to click.
I think that T-Mobile Germany has modified the device because also in the booklet there is no pointwhich describes how to activate it.
2 Weeks before the MDA MAIL was launched on the website they said that the MDA is WiFi capable...now nothing like that.
On the whole internet (German sites) they say: Yes the device ist WiFi capable !
I looked up some files in the ROM and in the registry. You can find files and Registry entries which show that the MDA is capable of WiFi. (Wifilinit.exe ...).
I thine the device driver is not loaded or is not installed ?! Is there any hack how to get access on it ?!?!

Strange. I looked at the page you mentioned and i could not find anything about wifi when i translated it with babelfish. Was it advertised as having wifi? (box or anything?) would they lock out wifi on purpose?
For others that know more, if they did for some reason disable the wifi. Could he just flash it to one of the generic htc firmwares to enable it again? (after the cid unlock or whatever?)

Ist was advertised 2 weeks before release WITH wifi.
Now it is like you said: Neither on the website nor on the box there´s anything about wifi.

I can do so, but i now how the WiFi plugin looks....and it isn´t there.
Like I postet before: In the registry and in the ROM there are entries and files about wifi. On the bootloader the Device says: Excalibur 1.18.0.0 (or similar to it: 1.18. is secure).
This device IS an Excalibur and i think that it has the wifi chip inside. IMHO T-Mobile Germany has deleted the driver from the rom. Here on my computer I have an ROM from the T-Mobile DASH but i can´t flash it because first of all i have no copy of mine (anyone knows how to backup ???) and then i don´t wanto to pay 38$ to unlock the CID.
I don´t need WiFi but it is nice gadget. If it is possible with another ROM I will flash it...but i will wait until someone releases an CID patch without paying 38 bucks for it !

It's weird the stock rom doesn't have WIFI in the comm manager, but you should be able to add it, if the wifi chips there.
Here's how you add wifi to Comm. Manager:
1st make sure your phone is app unlocked.
Using a registry editor, go to: HKLM/SOFTWARE/HTC/CommManager/#
Insert a new string named: WLAN
(The # you choose has to do with the order it shows up on the comm manager page)

You don't need to CID unlock your Excalibur to change the ROM when you first intall the "Engineering"-SPL 1.11 that you find here

But the other thing is to backup the existing ROM.
I have searched all night here but I only have found how to dump the ROM with itsme's tool bkondisk.exe but not how to get it back on the Excalibur.
I also have found the nbhextract, where I can extract things from an .nbh file.
But I did not find how to create a .nbh (or a RUU....exe) file to get the (modified) ROM back to the phone.
Am I blind? Please could somebody point me to the right direction - thx

I´ve tried this, but when I try to flash the Bootloader the same thing happens: VENDER ID error

what a pitty, your phone has no WIFI hardware. you can see the Eingenschaft of your phone on the tmobile web, the phone does not have any funktion of wifi but only gprs and bt.

you are doing fine getting all the info you need for your mda mail but have not had the consideration to share what comes with your mda mail instead of just nagging about your problems,stop being selfish ,gives us some info about this new version of the htc excalibur,this site works bot ways not just to leach info!!!!!!!!!!

how about go to your settings homescreen and gives us details on whats included like the schemes an any homescreen plugin and also what are the oem sounds that come with it that we might not have ?

I don´t need YOUR (leoiden) help anymore...i´ve unlocked the CID vwith imei-check.co.uk and flashed the MDA with the ROM from the T-Mobile DASH.
The WiFi Chip isn´t in the phone because also with this rom the device shows: Driver not loaded !

The Wifi apears in the Comm-Manager but when I try to activate it ...the device loads for 5 or 6 seconds and then nothing happens. When you look in the Wifi-settings --> connection Status it says: Driver ist not loaded !

wow. Just can't believe that HTC removed the hardware. It's not their style. Usually it's just turned off in the FW and able to wake it back up with a different FW.
I'd take it back and get the s620 then. WiFi makes this device...

I don´t need the WiFi ..it would have been a nice gadget.

Yes, thanks to This thread.
Worth noting again, that first time around under Vista did not work, I had to dig out an XP based PC to re-flash the original T-Mobile UK WM5 ROM. I then ran the procedure a second time under XP and it worked. The OS may or may not have been the factor, first time round might have been something else. XP was required to restore the original ROM.
The update to WM6 was well worth it in my mind even if purely for the instantly noticeable speed increase of the software.

thanks gajet - i'm gettign more and more tempted. one more thing - where could i get hold of the original t-mob uk rom - just for safety.

if its anything like finding a WM5 tmobile NL rom i'll wish you good luck. couldn't find one after bricking my own MDA CIII trying to upgrade it to WM6.
if you brick it your only choice is to wait until the official WM6 release from tmobile UK or send it back to them for repair

ok guys - i did it! worked first time - heart in mouth for 15 mins but well worth it. got all my apps working no problem and remembered to write down the t-mobile gprs settings for once!
one other benefit for uk t-mob. on web&walk standard you can't use your phone as a modem - but with this setup you can fabulous!

it works fine with the lack of wifi - just doesn't have a button in comms manager as before. the rom we're talking about in this thread is the official t-mob uk wm5 (five) rom - which is good to have in case the update goes wrong.
i'm using bepe's rom on my mda c iii and it's tons better than the original. just make sure you read the threads first for instructions.

If anybody interested in my few hours expirience with MDA C III UK + WM6 here it is:
Device: MDA Compact III UK original ROM,
Unlocked before wth IMEI Check
First I used the USPL as advised by Pof here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311479
It didn't work first time. I had errors 260 and 270. I repeated the process and it went OK after second time. Then I flashed with the B&W V2 rom. It seemed to end OK.
Notes: Before the play I used latest SPB Backup and made full backup in FlightMode. First thing I did after waking the device in WM6 was restore from it. The process went OK. After restart I got tens of notifications about installing untrusted or something DLLs and EXEcs. After that it hanged and didn't even wanted to wake up anymore.
So - hard reset -> partial restore -> PIM data only and it worked.
Excel and Word are buggy in terms of file handling. You can forget about them for now or use only as readers.
Comm Manager was working only up to the first reset. Then all buttons are hiden under the last one in upper-left corner. You can actualy see them rendering one after another.
GPS checked using iGo 2006 - working fine.
Conclusion:
I'm going to check how it synchronises with Missing Sync on my Mac. The latest version sould work with WM6. If it works I think I'm gonna stay with it longer. Word & Excel is not used by me often enough to stop me trying this Rom. Comm Manager - though, can try to live without it.

I have just flashed with the black and blue rom and all is well apart from the comm manager, yup, all one big mess in the top left. think its something to do with wifi, it was fine on the first boot, it showed the wifi icon but now its reset its gone all funky.

I have it! It's here - WM6 HTC ROM!

It is supposedly out, and in Russian, but with US/UK ENglish

How did you get around the "invalid model ID"?
Did the trick with pof's SPL 1.11 work as suggested by johnnylavah?
Or did you just spend money to IMEI check?

It certailnly worked on my non-supercided HTC S620. If your device is HTC S620 regardles or the OS language it will likely accept update.no supercidding is required. DASH handsets would likely require CID unlocking for this upgrade to work.
1. run bootloader upgrade ( well, downgrade) first
2. run rom updater
This is "IU BUILD. TEST ONLY!" ROM.
Anyways...to get your English back after the ROM is upgraded:
Start --> Settings (Настройка) --> press 7 --> press5:
now, in the top most combo box (Кодировка) :
select UK or US English and press left soft button to confirm
in the next combo box select 3rd from the top entry: English Australia (Английский Австралия) and press left soft button to confirm
now, press left soft button 4 times to confrim that changes will become effective after soft reset.
At this stage you may power cycle you Excalibur
CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.3)
Radio: 4.1.13.44_02.94.90
Model Name HTC-S620
P.S. You do not need to do anything about QWERTY keyboard layout. It's just plain standard QWERTY after the language settings are applied.
And just in case if you do not like default green colour of the home screen, there is one called WIndows Default available that looks a bit more attractive to me

Nevertheless it's good to know that HTC is still working/testing WM6 for S620! Hope the final version will appear soon!

Yes, original HTC, no extra branding. no extra bloatware. This ROM is very different to T-Mo DASH WM6 ROM. Much, much better this one. Great improvements accross the board.

Is it possible to go back to the WM5 ROM if the WM6 doesn't work out? If so how do you do that?

Hi all.
I have just upgraded from from WM5 on a CID unlocked S620 and all seems to be working fine.
Getting out of Russian is a little tricky, but following the steps in this thread worked fine.
TomTom works (as well as it ever has on WM5/6), UK Vodafone GPRS works, Hotmail and Exchange email working, Google Maps runs OK.
No obvious issues or bugs so far.
General performance seems to be comparable to the last WM5 ROM.

ahhh ! i tried it too - i have a htc s621 from rogers so i'm guessing it's because it's not CID unlocked? it says ERROR [294] Invalid Vender ID -any fix to this?

securegsm, can you help us out - the ones who are getting the error, my phone's app unlocked but it's locked to rogers. i tried 2 times but i keep getting the same error. how did you get around this? is your phone unlocked already or it's locked to some provider - if it is, how'd you get around the invalid id? i tried it - it didn't work for me

ive already DL from imate which required registering...indeed it was a long process...this is what ive noticed with the new official rom:
1. a little faster than the wm6
2. they changed power settings, it now indicates how many percentage left..
3. imate also changed the mms manager...and it sucks! ive tested it and as per preference, the Arcsoft mms is much better than the new one in wm 6.1..(mms wm6- separates SMS from MMS, indicates how many percentage left in receiving/sending multimedia messages////mms wm6.1- integrates SMS and MMS in one profile, does not show percentage/progress as to receiving and/or sending MMS)
4. added Task Manager
5. SMS threading Enabled
so far, thats what ive noticed...
ADVICE: since this is not a clean rom, and thus all of what imate want to add is pre-installed, just manage your Windows/Starup folder and remove unnecessary start files that consume PPC memory..add your favorite tools such as QuickMenu(to make x, and ok botton as CLOSE/END/Terminate) and Advance Config Tools for improvement on POWER, PERFORMACE, AND STABILITY...

there is no way to perform any ROM up/ downgrade with your I-mate device if you don't hand the Rom lockcode
The only thing you can do to solve this issue is to look back for the pre-owner of the device, ask for box or quick user guiding book

Can anyone point me in the direction of a download of the official WM6 or WM61 ROM for the iMate Ultimate 8150? With iMate having gone bust and the site shutdown it's a little difficult to get it through normal means

i just downloaded ROM but can't upgrade my 8150 because it keeps "trying to connect to device"... I already set up sync to windows mobile device center on vista. How can I solve the problem? tks

on my Box l of imate Ultimate 8105 the default password was 1234 which works for both factory resetting & reinstalling too will it be helpful to any one anyway? just guessing even on mediafire the file is no longger existing:crying:
