1.if use Calendar+ ,active can't show, so just amend the reg today> item >Calendar
inside delete the Order value and enable , in this today screen will not show
and can show in active.
2.for restore ,the O2 final rom1.72 can use back the old xbackup file,just
restore the old xbackup, and open the extend rom ,install the new cab file
one by one, you can get all the function fm the new rom ,include Acive , new
PDF PPT viewer.

No. There's no news on whether O2 (or any operator, I guess) will be bringing out a ROM to include WM2003 SE.

Can you put her the 1.72.181 extended ROM CABs?

Yes it should be OK. Your main problem would be to do with setting up the Blackberry stuff with the service provider.

If the new ROM upgrade is country dependent, I mean for the radio version. I do not see this upgrade available thru Hong Kong Support site.
Does anyone try the Voice dial and Truefax function after the upgrade ? Are they good ?

The download link is broken for some reason. Whenever I click on it, I get a page cannot be displayed error. Tested with Netscape, Mozilla and Micro$hit Exploder 6.x.
Is it a browser setting issue ?

XDA2 locks up with new ROM upgrade
Me and colleagues at work have all had problems with the XDA 2 locking up. We all upgraded to O2s latest and final ROM release that became available in Nov 2004. The screen goes blank and sometime the power button is lit, sometimes not. Soft reset does nothing - the only way to get the device to do anything is to hard reset at which point you get a working phone again but have lost all data and any problems loaded. Also, once reset, backup does not fully restore the full configuration, there are a number of files that can not be restored at all.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to upgrade firmware but I have a little fear
May I download the new firmware from 02 (1.72.187) or I have to use something else? I'm using the XDA in Italy (if it's useful)

Flashing your device can turn it into a Paper Weight, this is your own risk
Flashing a Rom which is not from your carrier will void the warranty
The Partion Tool resets your Exteneded rom Password and you Will not be able to

I have not tried it out yet. The way I put it in there is in sort of a package form, the file rarsave has the original rar files in it and the folders are the unpacked versions.

Ok, I upgraded to this ROM, from what I can tell it is the most straight up almost factory version of WM5 I have seen, It is fast and solid.
The only thing missing is the Blackberry software, Enterprise or web. If anyone knows where to get that I would be a happy camper. Can you get this software in a CAB form?

There is no point to upgade to this rom i am right and this is the first one the same as this one
There are far better roms in the ftp than this one

There is no branding in every WM5 rom fo BA, because it is not distributed by an operator

even for my 2003SE, it doesn't have any branding because I bypass auto config ... so don't think it is such a big discovery.

Yep sorry must me the same one, I am still looking for the WM5 Blackberry connect instant mail that will work with this version...

No that is not a NEW ROM, I think that is the missing Jwright's Modified ROM with AKU2 and A2DP support.

cant install it on jasjar
When I try to install it on jasjar it gives country code error and upon extracting it gives no options. can anyone tell me how to extract it as it will help me to put noID.exe to upgrade it

Read the thread I posted above and you will find the instructions you are looking for. You need to rename some files.

Save contact to SIM
I'm using rc1.
Contacts/tapping any contact/Menu/Save to SIM. The last item namely "Save to SIM" is not available (grey color, not black). Looks it's necessary to change a value somewhere in registry, but I did not manage to find what and where.
Does some1 face such problem? Or there is a solution the problem? Does this bug exists in beta8?

yes, "Save to SIM" is active and works.

did anybody try the *ARM*CAB? (BTP). I've downloaded it, the BT manager has changed but when I search for the Universal's services on my notebook, I get only the same 3 services az before...

I tried to flash de beta8 but i get country ID error 120... i read the readme file and it says:
Q14: I get “error 120: Country id error”, what should I do?
A: It may due to you get the wrong image. Please check your device’s device name and language type and download RUU package from the vender web site again and reset your device and then run RUU again.

UnRAR file to SDcard but not SDHC (not work) turn off device.
Push to record + mute buttons both and keep pushed. Push to power button and dismiss.
After you see SDLoder on display put device on table and wait for resume process.
After upgrade wait for windows logo and start yor's device.

I have installed the new version, Bluetooth problem persist.
- I can sent files and make data connections, but I can't receive files.
- GPS working, not testing for a long time to test lost of connection...

Did you try to activate "receive all incoming beam" under connection settings?

Many thanks, that was the problem, I think Incoming Beans referred to IR, as per my other device.
It now works great!!!
I recommend the update. :

Hi Igor,
I have a 614c since end of March and 3 more around me (of friends) all running on Cellcom SIM. It seems that the ROM does not have Cellcom as a listed service provider.
Since work with HP on a new ROM and have a beta ROM installed on my unit HP asked a few time is there a STD (Sleep Till Death) problem in an Orange SIM, bacause many customers compain about this besides the BT volume and AGC problem. Can you say some thing. Further more, what Hebew are you using on 6 and 6.1.

Hi I am still kind of a beginner when it comes to updating roms n stuff but I don't plan to use my new PDA at all before I learn couple of things.
so I hope you'd be kind enough to help me out to get me started on this. I downloaded the latest WM 6.1 rom update and the original Rom as well but I will not be touching that before I can create my own back up and be able to restore it. The following questions are pretty much related.
1- I would like to know if there is a software that can run from my PC (not from the PDA) and backup or image the PDA Rom and contents to a file on my PC just like what I do with Ghost and my PC.
so what is the best way to back up a rom and how do I restore one (specifically for this device anyway)
2- are there any tuts I can look at.
3- Finally but most importantly what are the tools that a hardcore developer uses to do this kind of complex back up and restore, how do I create a flash.dio file like the WM 6.1 update and restore.
I am a .NET developer but never done anything for PDA's just yet. I really googled for couple of hours but couldn't find the right tools.
