qtek1010 - upgrade

Hi, I have had this qtek1010 for 2 weeks and I find it amazing but still unexplored.
could anyone answer my questions:
1) I saw that some people say that they have 64MB and I have only 32MB.
can i change it? how?
2)where can I upgrade it to wm2003 (SE)? how? is it safe?
3) i bought it in Poland and in my country it is called Era Mda but my gsm operator is a part of T-mobile company, so is there any difference beetwen XDA and my Era MDA? can I use softwarte dedicated for XDA?
4) my ROM version is 3.16.39 ENG date 2/21/03 and radio version 3.19.01 and protocol 32S54

This can just be done by replacing some chips on the motherboard. You can solder yourself (very riscy), let it done by professional firm, (seacrch for it) or stay at the 32 MB (What i would suggest).

There is a ROM on the FTP, or you can cook your own at http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org. But if you want to use your phone productional i would suggest to upgrae just to "WM2003" ROM version 4.01.12.

They are completly identical but may have som special brandings like layout of the phone and/or programs in the ROM.... But you can use all ROMs and all software for each device from the same type....

Looks like an unknown ROM. Could you make a backup of your ROM and upload it to the FTP? Instructions are here:

Thans for fast reply, unfortunetly I erased it, while I while i was trying to upgrade it.
Now I have ROM 3.16.13 ENG from yours site, and its working well.
But I will try to get that ROM from my operator if it is not to expensive, then I will upload it to FTP.

I have not tried it out yet. The way I put it in there is in sort of a package form, the file rarsave has the original rar files in it and the folders are the unpacked versions.

Ok, I upgraded to this ROM, from what I can tell it is the most straight up almost factory version of WM5 I have seen, It is fast and solid.
The only thing missing is the Blackberry software, Enterprise or web. If anyone knows where to get that I would be a happy camper. Can you get this software in a CAB form?

I think it is the first WM5 rom for BA, PDA2k_2k5.rar but I will see after reflash
There is no point to upgade to this rom i am right and this is the first one the same as this one
There are far better roms in the ftp than this one

There is no branding in every WM5 rom fo BA, because it is not distributed by an operator

even for my 2003SE, it doesn't have any branding because I bypass auto config ... so don't think it is such a big discovery.

Yep sorry must me the same one, I am still looking for the WM5 Blackberry connect instant mail that will work with this version...

New Unversal ROM T-Mobile Germany with AKU2

T-Mobile Germany has released a new ROM (AKU2-Update). I Have Uploaded it to the ftp-Server (Filename: TMOB_DEU_pro_aku2.0_05-2006.zip).
Works fine with my MDA Pro. AKU2 works with Exchange and the speed (I think) its faster.
I have no problems.
ROM Version: 1.30.113 GER
ROM Datum: 04/13/2006
Radio Version: 1.10.03
Protokoll-version: 42.44.P8
ExtRom-version: 1.30.223 GER

Yes, it supports A2DP .... I have tested it!

BE CAREFUL - NEW BOOTLOADER
If you are waiting for an unlocking solution, DO NOT DO THIS UPGRADE. It contains a new version of the Universal Bootloader, which could make unlocking in the future impossible.

No, the Roms normally only contain one language at a time. Unfortunately you have to wait for the english one to be released. But once the german one is released, all other language versions should come very shortly.

skip bootloader-upgrade
I wonder whether it is possible to skip the bootloader-upgrade (bl.nbf) and just load the OS & EXTROM.
Anyone have an idea if this will harm the operation/stability of the device?

Start Update without connecting your Device and loook into your Temp Directory, there is a new EXE-File - copy to somewhere, stop the Update and run this new EXE!
The new ROM looks fine but
- how do I get back the Wireless-Tab on Today-Screen
- how do I get back the original (green and blue) DialPad-Skin
- can I reconfigure the T-Mobile Today-PlugIn

And what's the name of the exe?

"Benutzer" is the Account you are logged in
pftxx.tmp -> xx is changing everytime you run the update...

...or just extract the .EXE file with Winrar (in fact it's an archive with some program stuffed in front of it).

Definietely not. T-Mobile says on the download page (in German) that an AKU2 upgrade which is compatible with BB will be out in July.

Hello there,
installed the update 2 days ago - everything was working fine, surfing around, testing A2DP, WLAN, etc.
...but since yesterday i can not connect to the internet aymore.
It dials in via UMTS/GPRS, connects but nothing more. MyIpConfig.exe says:
Adapter Address: 00:00:00:00:00:00
IP Address: 172.21.30.136
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway: 172.21.30.136 <-?? the device itself is the default gateway??
DNS-Servers: 193.254.160.130
193.254.160.1
...rest is empty

Has anyone from germany a clou why/if these settings are incorrect? Anyone else the same problem?
Can someone not using aku2 post his network-settings when dialed in?
I tried reinstalling update and resetting device several times, when updating setup leaves information about currently installed versions of radio, ce and rom empty...is this the usual way?

got it now working. The Problem was the germen resellerdebitel, who changed the dns-IP. Very kind of them don't telling anyone about the changes.

I just unlocked my Universal and now I'd like to upgrade my rom to the new T-Mobile rom because mine is from August last year. So my question is: will the phone still be unlocked after the reflash - if not can I reunlock it?
Is there any easy rom extractor available?

I did the upgrade, and my phone stays unlocked. So go on and have fun, the new ROM ist GREAT Added Dopod's Radio 1.11.0, seems to consume less battery now, and now I have UMTS in my living room (which I did not have with Radio 1.6.0)

Hi can anyone tell me which is the latest Rom for the O2 XDA exec on the O2 network?
I upgraded one on my phone y'day and it is the
Rom : 1.30.107
Rom date : 04/11/06
Radio Version : 1.09.00
Protocol Version : 42.42.P8
ExtRom Version : 1.30.162 WWE
Is there any Rom that is newer than this one?

Hi can anyone tell me a few things
1) i bought the xda executive from O2 so i have their rom and features installed on mine.
2) if i want to use a 3 network card on it can i use it? where can i get the internet setting for the 3 network? and do i have to upgrade the rom to a 3 network or not?
3) if i want to use a vodafone sim card on it then would it be better if i upgraded the rom to a vodafone rom or should i just leave it to the O2 rom?

There is a much recent release of O2 with radio version 1.11.00. I used to see it on the topics here like 2 months ago.

162 is the extended ROM version... pretty meaningless... the OS is 107 as said earlier and that is what counts.

how can I install this ROM ???

Missing camera application
I have a new Exec and I have the latest ROM version as displayed on the O2 web site. When I install using the Corporate option (code 0506) and the great O2_Exec_Connections_Only CAB. But the camera application seems to be missing (or components of it). Has anyone else found this and is there a solution? Do I have to do a full install and then delete the O2 junk?

Does the camera show up in the other install options?
I didn't even bother with the O2 junk, I just reset the device at the "wait 3 seconds" part so none of the O2 stuff was installed and my camera works fine.

Many thanks for your response. It turns out the ROM image was faulty. So, however many times I re-installed or in whatever configuration, the camera application was missing bits. So, I downloaded the latest ROM image and re-installed. Everything works fine now.
Like you, I avoid the O2 stuff.

I don't have an O2 number either, so how can I download the ROM?

via usb using upgrade tools
in new room all (bluetooth, sim tools etc.) in english
In TT Yoo tryed set gps at com4 with 9600 bps ?

W800 doesn't have fm radio, sms'es works with sim without pin code. Wait I test this in new rom.
Rom upgrade is easy, but always exists risk - memory may be crash during rom upgrade.

I have flashed my device with the ROM from 592mobile.com succesfully but i can´t flush this one.
Please say how you did it.

1. conect Your w800 to pc - via activesync (activesync connection must be active)
2. extract rared rom in catlogue with upgrade programs euus.exe, USBDLUpdate_Console.exe ,upgrade.bat.
3. Rename g500_wm6.1_RB2.bin to temp.dat
4. run upgrade.bat
5. updater runs automatically -(You must answer a cuestions) - don't turn off w800 and disconnect usb cable
5. wait to end of room writing
6. upgrade ended with w800 restart with new rom
