I recently replaced the broken screen on my dash and, while doing so, apparently forgot to reconnect the jogger bar. I can't find the torx screwdriver to take it apart and hook it back up so... I was wondering if there is any way to control call volume without the jogger bar. thanks

my xda2s recently experienced a problem which consists of the volume bar keep going up and up making the 'end' noise repeatedly, and if say the volume bar on the side were to be pressed down, it would go down n go up again...
secondly, the power button is not functioning well, it can turn the phone on by clicking it once (as usual) it can turn the backlight on and off by holding it (as usual) but it wont turn off by pressing it once, or anything...
help please, thank you
doesn't happen with any of my 3... sounds like you've got them there problems.
pYroboy,
let me know if you found the resolution. My problems are similar to yours...
Thanks.
doesnt happen to any of my two BA...
try opening up your unit and clean up the contacts.
I did open it, but could not figure out which contact to clean. Power switch is sooooooo freaking small, I did not figure out what I could clean there, it seems that it is 2x4mm in size soldered for good to the board. Same about volume rocker/switch on the side.
How is it possible to clean them??? I could not figure out what could be cleaned there without detaching the switches from the board.
Does anyone sell these parts? Maybe it would be easier (although not easy also because they are so freaking small) to replace them??
Guys, need advice from you... from the ones who fooled around with similar parts...
Thanks.
try an air brush. or a fast evaporating contact cleaner.
just make sure you apply enough pressure not to blow the sensitive parts away.
*just becareful
OK. Thanks. I'll try that. But where do you people get that stuff. Do they sell it in electronics stores, or I need to look someplace else?
I need to do something anyway, because today I can't turn ON. I used timeout of 1 minute on battery power to power it OFF. But not being able to turn the whole thing ON really put me down....
Is there any program to remap Power On/Off button to Recorder or Media Player buttons on the side? They are all 3 the same switches. If it would be possible, I'd get by using one of those buttons.... Just running out of freaking ideas here....
contact cleaners can be found in your local radioshack(i.e. electronics or computer botique/shops).
regarding the power button i think that is hardwired to be the only powerbutton for the unit. sad to say you cant map it to powerup your BA.

Assuming you have the button lock enabled you can wake it up by receiving a phone call, and then disable the button lock and use any button to wake up/turn on the device. This is not the most elegant solution, but if cleaning fails to fix it then it may be your only option.
This might be a dumb question, but, on the G2, how do you wake the phone up from standby without actually opening the keyboard?
With the G1, all I had to do was press the Menu button, but that doesnt work on the G2. So far, the only way to wake up the G2 is by flipping the keyboard open, or hitting the power switch.
I don't own the phone but played with one in store yesterday. There is a power button on the top of the phone, this brings it out of standby. I kind of hoped a push of the trackpad would also but it does not.
It really bothers me coming from the Nexus that they swaped sides of the headphone jack and power/sleep button. On most all of HTC's other phones the pow/sleep button is on the top left, perfect for my (smallish) right hand pointer finger. Now that they swapped it to the top right, my world is falling apart...

Hahaha, yeah I'm having the same problem!
I'm so accustomed to having the power button on the left that this phone is completely throwing me off!
Yup... as far as I know, tapping the power button on top will bring it out of standby.
Frustrating not being able to wake it up any other way than the power button or open it up....I want to be able to push the trackpad...anyone figure this one out yet?

this.
and I wouldn't recommend rooting/custom roms just to change how the phone wakes up. not worth it if that's your biggest complaint with the phone.
it's like modding a car... you won't be able to stop until it explodes.

Install NoLock. When you'll turn it on Unlocked, you'll be able to wake your phone with the trackpad, the volume or the camera buttons
Im having some trouble with my physical touch buttons. They seem to stop working every now and then. If I bash the phone on my hand a few times they usually start working again. I'm guessing theres a dodgy connection inside somewhere thats causing this. There are no other symptoms though so it's very specific to the touch buttons.
I've opened the phone to have a look if anything looked loose but on the face of it everything seemed fine. However, I wasn't sure which ribbon was for what and couldnt find a diagram anywhere on the net after a quick search. Can anyone help identify what all the connections are for? In the picture I have circled the 5 main connections. So far I have figured the following:
Black circle - touch for screen
yellow circle - metal docking contacts on back of phone
red circle - not sure possibly speaker/touch buttons?
blue circle - not sure possibly speaker/touch button?
green circle - vibration motor?
If you know better please correct me. I think the touch buttons either work off the screen touch responsive connection (black circle) or the red or blue circles but cant quite figure out which.
Thanks
i know the gold colored part on the bottom left of the phone is the digitizer connector, is the rest of the screen working? if not make sure the aforementioned connector is pressed down securely

I had the same issue.
Thank you, thank you and thank you!
Floating icon-man in circle
I upgraded to MM 6.0 OS and had a hard time finding the floating icon. To me it is very useful as I do not like to used the hard buttons on the back of the LG G3. It is easier to play with the volume and to power of the hp Still in accessibility but no more universal touch. It is now in Motor and cognition, and you have to on the Touch Assistant to access the floating icon. Thanks
Hello All,
Over the weekend I dropped and it landed on the lower left corner. Not the screen is a little bit cracked in this area.
Now the home and menu buttons don't work. Back button is still operational without issues.
I did a hard reset to see if this could fix it, but it didn't. Now I have a home button app, but would like to gain home button back.
Any ideas on what I can do?
Thanks

I just dropped CM 10.2 on it, still not working.
What is Pie?
EDIT: I found Pie....thanks, this one is awesome.
I had the same thing happen, sort of. I was getting lots of phantom touches, verified with show touches in developer options. Lived with it for a long time. Then it slipped off the couch, probably foot drop on thin carpet, took out the capacitive touch buttons. Had the frame-digitizer replaced and all is well!
