How to get rid of the network-software? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Hi.
I have bought my Diamond in Sweden and it have the network "3" software, I have searched for some information about how to get rid from that and have a "normal software" but did not found anything so now I decided to ask here? Is there something I can do to get rid of it? I am sorry for my bad english, hope for answer. thx

Sorry but I dont know really what "cooked" rom is and what a Stock HTC ROM is, but i think that cooked rom is kinda "edited"? and then the "stock" rom is the orginal?Correct me if I am wrong.
I took a look at that page you recomended, but when I try to download the rom you uploaded,i get a message that the rom is wrong or something like that, and I took a look at the other pages to, but not a good result about how to get rid of the 3 rom.
:/

perform a hard reset, then when you switch it on for the first time, perform a soft reset before the customisation starts ! thats it!
you will need to enter the data settings using the operator settings cab file ! just search the forum

extended rom scrapped!?

@all,
believe it or not, after hardresetting my extendedrom is empty! having played around with the wwe upgrade rom from the wiki, gadget entered upgrade routine and started flashing upto 3%, then got kicked out with " wrong model ID ".
now datastorage displays 44,53 MB and program storage 27,75 MB.
what are the orig values?
startup after hard reset takes ages, could it be files are still installed? (systeminfo though states NO extrom version!)
This happened to me, I reflashed the TMUK ROM and it was fixed

You are searching for this
You definitely have an empty ext_rom now? Hmmm, I for myself often experience strange things when doing something to my ext_rom. Unhide and unlock (apparently) work, I can move files to ext_rom, I can edit and so on... but after softreset my ext_rom is back to original...

quite right, but this is the one that lead to the prob, and still I cant flash it due to "wrong model ID" after 3%. All noid routines fail as well!
Any way to get around this? CID problem?
I have the same problem.
Having played around with the tip in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=283708 and now I am unable to access my extended rom. Even after hard reseting the device. Now, the device does not see the content of the extended rom and the extra softs are not installed.
If someone could upload a french ExtRom, it would be very nice ....
BR, Imer.
Hi,
I have a similar problem.
I managed to see the files from the extended rom by triyng to format the extended rom.
But something strange happened I try again to do a hard reset but the extended rom doesn't want to be loaded.
It seems that unlocked the extended rom doesn't allow you to use it when you do a hard reset.
Please advise.
Regards,
so...
having said that, the obvious thing would be to lock/hide your extended rom again and then hard reset. Does anyone know how to lock the extended rom?

Orbit firmware reset...

Anyone had to reset their XDA Orbit?
I had a nightmare when using IGO2006 GS software, with it wiping some boot OS files and leaving it with a whitescreen on bootup (WSOD). Had to reset (did a few times after testing IGO), but just wondered if there is a consequence to resetting the Orbit.
One thing I now notice is that during boot sequence between first blue screen to the second green windows logo there is a white screen flash for half a second. Cant remember if this was there from new?
Thoughts?
Jez
That was normal with my orbit too - then i did a hard reset - soft reset before the o2 extras installed and now it boots faster, i have more program memory and no white flash. I thought it was unusual too but its due to those o2 plugins. btw o2 settings are still kept without the o2 extras.

They install just as the hard reset is finishing - with a 3 sec timer - place stylus in soft reset hole before timer expires and the extras wont install.
Mine is faster after the hard reset i.e. without the extras.

I dont get any white screens flicker at all - its the same as my wizard but the boot time is MUCH faster - overclocking helps this.
I have not installed any of o2 plus - it is no use to me - i have better profiler etc.. The components of o2 plus can be broken down so if you just wanted one bit - a new cab can be made.

This is the o2 extra stuff - all in the external rom - ftp://[email protected].com/Up...OMs/O2_Orbit_UK_1.25.206.101_extended_rom.zip
Download it and keep it safe.
It also contains the o2 dialer - i prefer the stock one, the o2 web page, the o2 tray, the only good thing is the o2 theme! lol

it stuck's at the windows mobile scrren anda don't know what to do help me please
why anyone can help me
i dont uinderstand why my posts don't have anwser
Is this a joke?
Hmmmm....
Don't take it as an offend, but you are at the wrong forum.
I believe you have to ask the question on the right one.
This forum is for QTEK 9000.
Please feel free to look and search before you post.
If you look here it seems that the early QTEK Uni was branded as the 4040 so please dont be so quick to flame...
Anyway onto the problem. Try a hard reset and clear by pressing 0 when asked. if that fails then reflash the rom in the usual way. That should cure the problem.
Psi
sorry man i had a very bad day realy sorry how do i hard reset my qtek
No need to apologise. I have had a hell of a day myself mate.
Extract below is taken from the Universal Wiki - Perhaps you may find all of it an interesting read in
To do a hard reset (push the two menu buttons ("-") on the keyboard + the reset button at the same time (all of this three). Doing a hard reset will result in you losing all your installed apps and data so ensure you have a backup of everything first.) Everything should be fine from this time. You have to calibrate the screen and do some setting up...

Hello, i'm sorry to get this thread back up, but i'm having a problem that looks much like this.
I can power the device on, but it powers off sometimes at QTEK screen, sometimes at Windows mobile screen, and sometimes i can do the whole setup thing, and when it begins at installing extended, it powers off again! :s
I can get in bootloader, so i don't know if it's bricked or not,
The device is a QTEK 9000
Radio 1.15
the Windows Mobile 6 version of Jmwright or something like that (Latest version)
Can anyone post me a quick walktrough of what i have to do to get my device back up and running... If you suggest another ROM from another developer which doesn't have that camera buffer problem etc, because i really want to start using this device in a safe way.
Thx in advance, i really appreciate all the work done here.. Just want my problem fixed asap

Daxian X999+ Rom

Hi there,
I have bought a DAXIAN X999+ and since there is little to no information about this phone I post this here.
I want to extract the ROM from this phone so I can try messing around with it and make sure I have a backup of the original in case something goes wrong.
Problem: I have no idea how/where to start and can't seem to use the search function of this forum to find what I am looking for.
This phone has windows mobile 6 Professional and has the cube built into the rom (you slide from top to bottom and the cube appears) which might be usefull for others to extract it from this rom instead of building this cube from scratch (have tried the one from this forum and it is way slower than mine...)
Thanks in advance
I also have the X999+ it seems to be a good phone, and yes i do know how to get the original factory settings reloaded. Holding the two top buttons on both left and right hand side of the phone, and then pressing the reset, while holding those in, you will see a blue screen, hold buttons for a couple of seconds after the reset was pressed.
Warning this erase all custom setting, phone book and messages from phone, and i suggest to remove sim and Micro-SD before you do this.
As on how to download the rom, Flash the rom, or even how to get into bootloader i don't know. I can however access \rom directory with total comander, and it seems thats where the rom is stored, but i can't copy it out from there yet
Was already aware of the hard reset function with those keys...
The search function finally worked and noticed that there were already some threads concerning the x999, yet none concerning the "plus" version which might have other hardware etc...
I used to have a cect 599 and started the forum and website on freeforums and gethost.
Because of some experienced people, we've managed to flash it so was hoping that there would be people here too who are able to give some pointers etc...
Maybe I'll start a forum & site again concerning this phone, in the hope that there are more people interested.
Thanks for your reply though!
please do , that would be great. they are superb little phones and there is very little info on them at present
hi all
Hi all im new here i bought a daxian X999+ and its arriving in 2 o 3 days.

bricked my GSM diamond with CDMA

hi folks,
seems to be that i have a BIG problem...
my t-mobile diamond had some heavy connection problems the last days (apart from this battery sucking system that made me charge it twice a day), so i decided to install both a new radio rom and a new WM rom on it.
after all those attempts didnt work (yes, i've read the threads and yes, i've followed the instructions! ), i got the ****ING IDEA to follow the instruction shown on youtube.com/watch?v=ZYGibMZC7-g (see also forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36062) for a CDMA diamond. don't ask why, i thought that i could own a cdma phone as all of the gsm software didn't work... :-//
during step no. 1 (unlocking - yes, i wanted to do the whole programm! :-/ ) my diamond switched off and ... is dead now! no chance to switch it on, no chance to get into bootloader, no chance to hardreset...
now my question to the pros: do i have ANY chance to reanimate my diamond? i would be grateful for any ideas!!! thanks in advance,
p.p.
have you tried vol down and soft reset simultaneously?

yep looks like it
anyone ANY idea to get my diamond back to life?
my frind i think you nead a new mb so you must go to htc service
It was quite common, when people were looking desperately for SU and were using CDMA soft.. Sorry to say this, but your diamond is a brick now, and only motherboard replacement will do. there are some hardcore people on this forum who are rescuing such phones, but I'm not sure if they are still operational. Search for JTAG on teh forum, or send it to the service. If it;s on guarantee, then you should be fine, as they shouldn't be able to determine what happened. Otherwise you can always zap the phone with a stunner, and presto, phone ready for guarantee.
your phone is dead bro, i will be willing to buy it from you, i need peices to fix mine, pm me if interested
hey dude, dont worry..u're like the umpteeth guy who did it..just refer to this forum forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-488687.html..haha
I have long time ago also installed a CMDA-ROM accidentally. When the flashing procces ended I just got only the slpash screen (black without Rom Version Information).
I thought my Diamond was bricked but i could not believe it . After i had performed a hardware reset several times i used mitty and i could flash a ROM.
Now i have mostly a ROM as backup on my storage-card this in case it will go wrong during flashing procces.
