speaker volume and overheating after upgrade - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

I believe that since I upgraded my diamond to duttys v1.8 i have issues with speaker ,it very very quiet and "overheating" - the device gets very often hot whilst in use. few days ago i upgraded to swift 6.3 full but still the same issues. i use radio which came together with duttys rom finising 1.00.25.07.does anyone face the same problem? could it be caused by the radio?
btw. both roms are great,it is just anoying not to hear other party and also i am worried not to damage diamond by overheating.
please advice if you can

I used both ROM's recently and I had never that kind of issues. Till now I'm also using radio 1.00.25.07 and no complains so far.
I also heard no problems from other users, so this looks like hardware failure...

Which rom is better? Imate Jasjar or Ivan

Can users of both roms (the Imate Jasjar or Ivan) care to comment on which rom is better? I am running the Ivan beta13 and want to know whether it makes sense to switch.
Thanks.

On my mda pro, ivan's beta 13 works very good. the imate rom does not work so good, it is slow and sometimes my device freezes.

I'v tried Ivan's beta 8, 10, 12, 13, and both roms from Jwrightmcps; on my qtek9000 Jwrightmcps's Jasjar rom works definitively better.
Hi Xanadu, could you please more specific on where you see as better? Just a general comment on "better" does not really help me to decide... Thanks.
Hi stanip !
Try both ROMs and you will see which ROM works better on YOUR Universal.
That's the best way to make a decision...
Understand your point re testing it out.
Each rom update took me a fair bit of time (2-3 hours) as I need to reinstall about 10 softwares to my Universal and I need to reenter all the password, settings...etc.
Getting tired of keeping on refreshing... Hope to leverage the experience of other forumers.
Thanks.
My own experience...
I have not used Jwrightmcps's as much (just started playing with it in the last couple of days), but it seams better overall for me. I'm using a MDA Pro on T-Mobile.
It also seams quicker. It's all very subjective at the moment. Biggist factor is probably simply that I have not 'fully loaded' it with tonnes of apps yet.
Things I've noticed which I don't think would be effected by all teh apps being installed.
For Jwrightmcps's :
It does not freeze/loose signal with phone like it did with Ivan's Beta 13. But then I have also switched to Radio 1.11. I don't tink this is the reason though (old radio was fine prior to AKU3.2)
The camera software does not have as much noise on the Screen.
I don't like the Battery Icon on Today screen at the bottom. It shows full till battery is down to around 60%.
Love having USB Drive mode
Laptop finds more BT Profiles.
I'm hoping the competition drives both forward. But since nobody is actually being paid to do anything, don't see why it should. Many thanks to both for all the efforts they are making.

I agree with Zuber, plus I need smartdialer for my 1200 contact, but Ivan's beta 13 rom don't have smartdialer; as I installed it separetely, it took 6 MB RAM.
Sure, the best way is testing both then you can decide....
Jwrightmcps's has more thing than I-Van's but sometime It freezes

Can you receive MMS with the new MMS Composer included? Would you mind sending yourself one and confirming you can receive and download it?

Widespread Freezing/Lag Problem?

Today the USB port on my original AT&T Tilt bit the dust. I am considering just buying an external battery charger for it and perhaps an extra battery.
I am also considering the AT&T Tilt 2.
What I don't understand is this: practically every review of the phone on AT&T's website complains of a chronic freezing problem. I figured I'd check these forums for a solution, but there are very few mentions of a freezing problem here, so I'm very confused.
How can the vast majority of the reviews complain about freezing on AT&T's site, but the good people on these forums do not? Am I missing something? Is there really a problem? Would love to buy the phone, but not if I need to reboot it all day long.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
I have had no freezing problems with my device, and the only reasons I reboot are unrelated to freezing or instability. Though, to be fair, I had the AT&T stock ROM on my Rhodium for only a few hours before I flashed a cooked ROM.
I'd guess the reason the reviews discuss freezes while XDA doesn't is because the AT&T stock ROM, which the reviewers would be using, is filled with bloatware and for me had ~75% ram in use on the first boot, and isn't very fast at all.
Meanwhile, the vast majority of the people on this forum use cooked ROMs, which are lean and fast, have every possible speed tweak applied, and are otherwise optimized for the best possible performance. If you are coming from the AT&T Tilt, you will not be disappointed at all by this device.
yea, the stock phone sucks, takes forever to come on but after you download a good rom for it its awsome, I havent had mine freeze up yet, I have had to restart it a cople times duu to a program getting jamed and not going completly away but that was kinda my fault overall I give this phone an A++
I've been using the Tilt 2 for 4 days now on the stock ROM and haven't had any lag or freezing issues. I'm pretty impressed with it so far.
Tilt2 & stock AT&T ROM for me, had it over 8 weeks now. No freezes, no lags, good data speeds. I use MemMaid to clean up memory maybe once a day, and probably soft reset about once a week. I'm real happy with performance.
I've put on a lot of usability tweaks, but I won't put on a custom ROM until my warranty expires.

Help me with my Bluetooth problem

Recently flashed my tilt 2 rodium to energy rom. Everything works great except the bluetooth, for some reason the range sucks on it. If i move more then 6 feet from the phone and the headset, quality starts to get choppy. Never had the problem with the other phone. Any idea, or fix maybe??
any help would be great

I'm not personally familiar with that ROM, but some of them may include a different radio than you had in your stock rom, and that can definitely affect BT performance. If you have a new radio in there now and are seeing issues like this, you can try out different radios to see if one gives you better results. Info and instructions HERE.

[Q] Multi-vibrates when boot up HTC screen, Overheat?

I have LeeDroid 2.3d since the first day, no problem so far.
The cause of the problem start when I've upgraded the radio to 32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17 few days ago.
Sometime it will reboot itself and when HTC logo screen appear, it will vibrate multi-time.
I suspect it must be overheat problem, because I can feel my Desire quite warm than before. I dunno why after this new radio cause this problem.
I can able to use Game Dev Story for hours before radio upgrade, but with new latest radio I couldn't go longer than 30mins.
Never mind, no one help me out!
I downgraded the radio, it may seem much better.
SO BEWARE OF 32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17
Note: I had no issues with that radio when i was using LeeDroid 2.3d for 2 weeks a month ago.
Still there is a risk you use advance than recommend radio version. I won't suggest to use latest radio if you have overheat problem.
If the correct RIL is applied, then you should not have any problems

[Q] Core Droid - Weak Signal Reception

Hi,
First: THANKS to whoever developed CoreDroid!!!
It's an AMAZING ROM - the best I tried by a looooooooooooooong way: sleek, fast(er), almost as tweakable as Cyanogen7 but much more usable and very friendly UI.
I find only one area of probles: signal strength.
Where I have clear reception with my Nokia N8, I have no signal with my DHD running CoreDroid. In all honesty, other 2 ROMs had the same problem so I am curious to ask other forum members if this is known HWare problem or if it is a ROM problem.
Japan, Softbank, rooted DHD, CoreDroid, Android 2.3.3
Any idea how to improve signal reception?
Thanks for any help!
Have you tried flashing another radio?
Flashing guide
Radio thread
I don't know if there's any different recommendations in Japan, someone else will have to help you with that.
Edit: Maybe the radio radio that came with the gingerbread leak could help.
@ Hawk,
Thanks, but I am using that very radio...! (BTW, who developed CoreDroid? It's a really cool ROM).
Japan has a bit of a tricky situation with the carrier's frequencies etc... and before blaming the ROM I was wondering if anyone has had any experince with flashed ROMs signal weakness in this country or... I is anyone aware of reported issues with this specific new CoreDroid 4.8 on Sense 2.1 (signal levels)?
Sam? Others?
TIA for any help... would be much appreciated...

Whatever you do, stay away from CoreDroid V5. Personalize button does not work! I read it somewhere in the forum, but wanted to try it by myself, and found the fact.
Regarding the Radio, I never faced any big signal problem with the LeeDroid recommended Radio, but battery life issue was something I was waiting to be developed by some guru someday. Now, running CoreDroid V4.8 (over a week), and Radio 12.35d.60.140fU_26.08.03.07_M (since last night) I'll be watching for a few days before feeling any difference between the two Radios. I already got a feeling with better battery life with the new Radio.
Sam,
Instead of "feeling" how about "measuring" the signal strength and batt life?
