I got an "old" Blue angel from a friend of mine. It works fine, except of the phone. On Boot it says NO GSM. I tried soft and hard resets, but this didn't work.
He said it all started when he upgraded to a new Win Mobile version.
How do I upgrad or downgrad the whole system to another version von win mobile. or whar else can i do

Hi,
When i first got my BA, i upgraded from WM2003 to WM6.
This worked ok for everything (A few glitches here and there but i could live with them), but then, my phone battery had ran out, i charged it and loaded it up again and it now shows No Service on the today screen, so I can't make any calls off it.
I also noticed that when the phone boots it shows No GSM where it used to have 2 different numbers.
I've tried reflashing it to WM5, and also to WM6.1 but both of these didn't seem to fix it. The WM6.1 version I used can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=390862
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Yes, fix is quick and easy and you can do it even at home: a soft reset.

I have tried soft and hard resets but this doesnt seem to fix it.
I wanted to try upgrading my Radio rom but when I ran the updater I got error 114. I'm not too sure what this means though?

Solution against "No Service" issue
Have a lot of Siemens SX66's. Just took one and ran unlocker, then flashed WM 6.0 and upgraded radio to 1.15.00. After that inserted SIM card and saw permanent "no service" message. Tried HR few times for no avail. Here's what really helped: I ran universal unlocker once again and then did soft reset. Voila! System booted and connected to GSM network. Hope somebody will find this useful.

I have analogic problem with my BA (iMATE PDA2K)
At boot screen I see
No GSM

and boot process stops at this position.
Once my BA was booted up with this trouble, and goes to reboot and all repeats again.
I can't reflash radiorom.
At 61% I have "Error 114: Radiorom upgrade error"
I tried to reflash radioroms from 1.02 to 1.15, but nothing positive.

No, my problem is because of some kind of error during unlock process, I guess. And your problem appears to be similar to "No GSM" issue of Hermes phones. But it may be repairable unlike Hermes ones...

Look for a link under word "this"
i had this problem, heres what i did that made it work,
1.re-insert the battery
2.press the on button
3.press the reset button TWICE
EVERY time you turn it off and on do this, but if you reset the phone you dont need to do it twice.

Partial solution for "No signal" problem
I think the idea was posted by xplode sometime ago- I spent a day playing with it, but it finally worked for me.
0) I had unlocked BA with 2003. Later on I upgraded it to WM 6.1 and then at some point I've got this "No service" issue. I upgraded my Radio to 1.15 (it did not help me- but I did this in the very beginning, so may be it matters)
1) I downgraded ROM to one of 2003 ROMs (xplode has a collection: http://tinyurl.com/cozbbx)

2) I unlocked band page for the network connection- it was discussed in (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297099)
2.5) I finally used this cab : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=23788&d=1121269005 to set band selection to 900/1800 (still no service)
3) I removed sim card and did a hard reset followed by soft reset. I put a sim card back and soft reset BA.
--- I guess at this point it's 2003 with 900/1800 band and working
4) I upgraded my ROM to 6.5 and it is working now.

Lucky You that I still have troubleshooting tutorial in my file archive. I've written it by myself when was unlocking many of these devices.
Although I'm not sure if it will help with symptoms You listed...
Here it is what you can try to do if your Blueangel PDA phone constantly showing "No Carrier" and it is not possible to enter phone settings:
1. Take off the battery from the phone while it is turned on.
2. Place the battery back in, turn on the phone. At bootup there should be stated "NONE" instead of versions of "R" and "G" (seems that it is required to be so).
3. After OS had boot, run the Unlocker. Few times, maybe.
4. Reboot.
hi im having trobble with mobile error i have instaled a number of new roms and theres afew roms like the new 6.5 some of the 6.1 that i get this message when i go to sim manger to place my contacts from sim to phone some times it will transer some of my numbers but not all of them and other times it does dont work it comes up with mobile error i have done hard resets and soft resets ive taken out the sd-card when flashing and i have no idea how to slove this would be greatful if someone could help me is there something i need to install or upgrade ect ect i have no idea thanks in advance

I have had the same problem with WM6.5 and 6.1 and this was why I returned to WM6. Maybe the sim manager is not compatable with WM6.

I have a portugese sim card (TMN) and i have tryed to install again the windows mobile rom but didn´t solve the peoblem.

Hello Zecanilis, i have used the "Artemis Update SPL (USPL) v.01" and then the "ARTEMIS_RUU" to have windows mobile in portuguese, and it worked for a cople of days, but since last friday i think, i cant use it as a phone. It says allways "A procurar".

Hi everyone.
I also have an friend's artemis that was always 100% until a few days ago.
It went with no apparent reason from normal GSM Service to "Limited Service" and the to "No SIM Card".
I've tried:
1- Downgrade and upgrade radio Rom's
2- Hard Reset
3- Reinstall Ark's ROM (but the problem is not here for sure)
4- Install Original WM6 PTG ROM
5- Test different SIM Card's
Still all I get is the "No SIM Card" message.
Any ideas before a trip to HTC Service Centre?
Hi guys, i had a similar issue sometime ago, with the sim card and the micro sd card, with me it was the contact pins of the device that were a bit dirty, and the sim was a bit old too, i changed the sim card and cleaned the pins, after that i had no more issues.

That wasn´t my problem because i put him a new simcard and it doesn´t work.
If i put automatic search it keeps searching all the time, if i put manual, i choose the brand (TMN), he gives the signal but don´t make calls, don´t receive, nothing...

I uncle gave me an old mda pro and I tried to make the update of tmobile. While updating, my mda pro crashed. When I started it, i get into the bootloader. After this, I tried it again to update it with the tmobile update, but it crashed always with the notice that it had lost connection, but I didn't touch anything. When I started it, i get into the bootloader.
I got the programm to make the CID Unlock, but it doesn't worked with win 7 and vista, but with my old xp pc I have made the CID Unlock.
Now I thought I can't destroy anymore, and I tried again to make the tmobile update. It worked very good, it doesn't crashed or anything. The uppdate program said to me, congratulations, you installed the update..., and to finish the update, close the window and reset you device.
I did this things, but now, when I try to start it, nothing happens. Hard-Reset works, but after Hard-Reset nothing happens....
I looked for a thread with the same problem, but i didn't found one...

Hey, and I have the same problem with an other htc uni, On this my dad tried to update the tmobile update. And it crashed, too. There I would try to put win 6.1 on it, but the xda wiki is offline and I don'T know how to do it.

I'm currently facing an issue with my MDA Vario V. I'm stuck on the setup screen of Windows Mobile 6.1, the phone freezes at completion. I want to restore it, but the official German T-Mobile ROM is not available anymore. The Hard_SPL method is not working in 2023.

If someone is willing to help me, please reply on my post. I'm trying to figure things out for weeks but had minor success. I know this phone is obsolete and about 15 years old, but I still have a sweet spot for such devices and really want it working again.
Update: I also called Telekom (former T-Mobile), they already removed all documentation and couldn’t help me either.
I let the phone “finish” the setup for about 2 days now. Still no success. On reboot I’m sometimes able to bug it out and enter the message / mail / settings app, but it freezes there too.

When trying to load an image from the SD card, I also get the "no Image File!" error. Probably due to the lack of Hard_SPL.
