It would seem lots of us like these type programs. Neither one seems to be working great with WM 6.0.
Here's my issues using latest beta of Phonealarm: loosing graphics on reset, sometimes the today plug in doesn't appear. Alarms seem to work and profiles seem to switch correctly.
Also just feels unstable.
Trying PhoneSuite from SBP. Starts fine and runs well. Like the photo dialer. Major issue: only one time based profile; can't see the current profile icon or change it if I click on the space where it is (though dropdown list appears); Caller ID doesnt work with incoming calls, but offers to send SMS to missed calls.
Anybody else having these type issues?
I have been messing with profile switchers and whatnot for sometime now. Typically haven't had too much trouble with Phonealarm...however I know what you mean when you say...just feels a bit unstable. Probably comes from using it long enough to have had some bad betas...so it just gives you that feeling...
I am trying the new Phone Suite from SPB...not bad, but it seems a bit limited as you have mentioned with the profiles. Plus, I am using Mobile Shell right now and you get messages, missed calls etc on the today "Now" screen, the only drawback with Mobile Shell or their new Phone Suite for that matter is they don't show you number of Voicemails, Phone alarm is the only one I have seen that does this. I do like Phone Suite's photo contacts integration...that is pretty cool...so I am still messing with it a bit. For a profile switcher...I am currently using PocketZenPhone v6.103 (doesn't have the missed call, SMS etc but that is what the Shell Now screen offers). This appears to be really nice so far. Lots of custimization, profiles switch quickly and you don't have to have a today plugin..you can have it just as in icon in the bottom toolbar.
Hey on another note. How is Black 2.5 running on your device? I have 2.0 on mine and love it, just recently lost my camera function for some reason and was thinking about flashing my device to 2.5 and hope it comes back.

It's a stupid bug in lots of WM phones, this happens occasionally on Black 2.0 and used to happen when i had a Prophet.
but there's a little workaround.. when the phone booted up and started to load the today screen, just quickly press the Windows hard key twice !
Im running phonealarm 1.6 beta 13 (build 134) and have experienced no instability or today screen troubles?!
I have had no problems with PA ever!? The latest beta (14 build 138) however is very unstable...but its a beta so doesnt reflect the final product!
did some more checking. they are up to 140 but its got issues too. 139 was reported to be more stable.
they are aware of the wm6 issues too. maybe 141 will fix it.
Black 2.5 with buzzing add on is running fine. I went up from vanilla (custel's) Black 2.0 and did not have any problems aside from PhoneAlarm.
i just use o2plus 2.3
profiles are there, meters, launcher with tabs, can customize profiles/wifi/bt at certain times etc.....
only 300kb footprint.

on my spv m3100 with lvsw 0423 wm6 and spb phone suite i don't get displayed the phone numbers of incoming callers i think its a bug with phone suite unfortunately
O2Plus won't load without O2 connect, is there a work around.
Only downside to O2plus vs Phone alarm for my purposes, is I like to be able to assign different or no sounds to emails/text alerts depending on the active profile. If I set the ringer to nil, (ie a silent profile) will that kill the email notification too? (I will check later but am going to be tied up for a while now
PS - Scrog, search for the 'amended' version i n fact, I seem to remember JJ posting it somewhere in the last week or two?

Try Pocket Zen Pro. I had issues getting this to work on my Softbank X01HT when it was Japanese WM5, but seems to work great on Black 2.0 / 2.5.
The today screen is pretty much only profiles + some time / operator information, but it is just as customizable as Phonealarm with regards to setting different sounds for different profiles, etc.
The "Today" element is very minimalistic which I actually like after I got used to it.
Actually, you can configure the "Today" element to be just a single line on your screen; i assigned a hardware button to change profiles and it is much easier to use than phonealarm in that respect.

Have currently dropped back to O2plus. Am going to try out Pocket Zen Phone, and then maybe PP Pro. Have you used it on WM6 (Black 2.5 in particular)
I like PhoneAlarm and never had problems with it except for some skins that allows direct WIFI on/off and are not compatible with the new connection manager (the Trinity one). Have tried the SPB app but it is useless for me cause it has only one time based profile and I use at least 3 time based profiles. PA has more options and is much more useful...comparing to SPB it use 2mb of storage PA use only 900kb of storage!

Yep, currently using it with Black 2.5 however, this is version 5, and not 5.02, which should be a little better (Photo Contacts Pro).
features wise, it has things that i prefer than the others.
I will give PA another chance although it doesn't deal "right" with "Reject calls and send SMS" or with the Profile based on User or Category.

O2 plus worked fine for me without o2 connect installed. Previous versions wouldn't work but 2.3 doesn't seem to be dependent on o2 connect being installed anymore.

What device/os ROM are you using?
like most here I ama compulsive flasher, so no complaints from me for all the new roms that come out. I just have a problem with the last two light weight roms I have tried here on tmob in the uk. strange problem so wondering if its the rom or me (i am posting this from the hermes on the train so you can clearly see the internet connection itself is running fine.)
the problem is that after adding my fastmail.fm email account (has worked fine with 100s of roms before) and selecting send/receive. I get the error synchronising message. almost instantly, no delay, this suggests to me its not even going to the network.
what could this be.
supadupa and the latest light one from the dutch author seem to be the roms I used. although I flash so regularly im not sure, haha. another problem with this dutch one is the keyboard is not properly mapped. just for the record.
apart from this I am loving the speed of these light roms. I don't need word excel etc. just the phone email. pocketputty for ssh and tomtom which I stick on later.
any help appreciated or a recommendation of a light rom for me. off on hols on the weekend and wanna get the phone working before that. anyone know if tomtom maps cover greece. I will be driving there. scuse the fact its a bit ot.

I have experienced this before. If it is immediately giving the "error synchronizing" thing then it is in your settings. Go into you message/ options/ email/ and go to the page that you enter your outgoing mail settings. On this page it gives you an option for advanced server settings. Once you click on this you'll notice at the bottom option "network connection" you can select the internet, media net, work etc... I guess these options vary but you get the idea.
Anyway this is has always been the culprit so you may want to ensure these are correct. And if this does not work, then I would recommend going back to a known working rom.

After installing Hard SPL 2.0, ATT radio 1.5.4, and Pays 6.1 i have the following problems, have searched for a few days now and still havent found anything.
I installed a CAB to set up my phone for ATT service, now i can recieve email, get online and Download MMS. SMS is fine. I can even use internet sharing perfectly. (although OUTGOING email also doesnt work when teathered.) Everything else is good besides:
No Camera, No Flashlight, No Superbright. Cannot SEND email via smtp with auth. Tested the smtp from my pc (not teathered) and it works fine.
If anyone even has this problem, make me feel better that im not the only one. I have tried flashing to different ROMs and camera has never worked since 6.1 flash. I also installed radio version 1.4.8 and still coulnt send email. - could this be my internet settings?

Did you flash to a stable ROM (eg original WM 6 ROM) before fashing Pay's ROM? My two cents; try flashing your phone again, this time flash to an original wm6 ROM like a AT&T ROM, soft-reset before customizations start, then flash Pay's ROM. Hope this helps.

When the phone turns on for the first time after flash - before the customization screen? Is that what is meant by that?
I would definatly flash to an offical AT&T ROM and then see what happens..
I had installed the official WM6 rom - camera did not work. Did not set up email so i dont know if that worked. I also installed a custom ATT specific rom which camera did not work.
Why would i have all other types of internet access except outgoing email?
Camera problem
I get that from time to time on my 8525 (Hermes). The fix is simple, unplug the phone from any power source, pop out the battery, wait about 20-30 seconds and place the battery back in.
In the old "PDA only" world, this is what we'd call a Battery Reset. More effective than a Soft Reset and not as drastic as a Hard Reset.
When my 8525 (Hermes) Camera stops working, as well as the flashlight and all, I do this little trick and it fixes it every time.

I am having the same problem with my 8525 running pays rom tried everything still can't send email. tried flashing to an official att rom same problem problem started only after i flashed to pays rom....help.

I Flashed my XDA Stellar with supposedly the official wm6.1 rom. Now my TOM TOM takes forever to get a fix and although my camera still takes pictures, there is no view finder image to show me what im looking at. Dissapointing.

I'm working with a Tilt2 running the stock euro HTC 6.5 rom
and I have an odd delay. once a call comes in and I either use
the "slide to answer" feature or if i just press the call answer button
there is a long...sometimes 10 second delay between my action and
the call actually connecting.
During this time i often miss calls and ive asked those who are calling me
what they hear and they say my phone goes silent for 10 seconds before i
answer. any ideas?

After doing this it does seem to pick up the calls a lot faster but now I'm getting a slew of various data connection errors. SOTI wont connect, my weather tab will not connect.

Update: I was wrong initially about the reg edit fixing things. I had my wife call immediately after the edit and it seemed to fix it when I noticed the connection issues through various programs.
Well during work today I answered about 7 calls. The delay affected all of the and on all but 1 the call actually disconnected before it allowed me to speak. so i will be reversing the red edit to combat the connection issues.
So clarify a few questions I Got regarding this:
When the phone rings and I press the answer button or "slide to answer" the ringing does stop and the icon in the task bar shows a call connected. but for me and my caller we hear dead silence for 10 seconds until they either hang up or the call connections. Any ideas friends?
I'm having the same issue on my US AT&T Tilt 2. It is driving me crazy, the regedit did not fix anything for me either. Did you figure you this out at all?
Are you guys running stock or a custom ROM? I have had this issue in seven ROMS. In my case, it seems that my phone has to have the ATT Dialer to avoid this. Tried Energy Photon and Leo,Josh Koss, TPS, and Shadowline. All had this problem. I'm now on Fusion 6.0 with the ATT Dialer. Not one issue. Day before I flashed this one, I missed 19 calls at work because I couldn't get the slider to register. Tried TPC's latest last night(he uses the HTC Dialer), missed calls. Flashed ATT Stock no problem. Fusion is the only other ROM I found with an ATT Dialer.
It seems there is a conflict in the device when connecting.
Some things to try:
- remove the custom dialer (just use the WM6 dialer, but this will loose video calls)
- check if there is some call-recording software that kicks in
- does this happen when the device is off or also when it was already on?
I'm Using HTC's stock rom instead of the ATT rom. since I'm America I really would not be apposed to loosing video call from the dialer since Its not supported on my network but I'm really not sure how to change the dialer back to AT&Ts ...is this something that would have to be cooked into the rom because I cant stand AT&T's rom.
Flash a ROM that uses the AT&T dialer: problem solved.
Your options are: Stock AT&T, At0mAng, Arrupenthal, Twopumpchump roms.
So how do we go about getting a cab file of the AT&T dialer, video share and PTT packages that each individual user can apply as needed? Is this even possible and would it require uninstalling whatever dialer the chefs cooked in? I think it would be impractical to ask the chefs to make two versions of their ROMs (one for at&t tilt2 users and one for everyone else) as I have attempted to cook my own ROM and know how difficult it can be.

I've got a TP2 that I use for work and personal. I'm trying to find some way to automatically turn on the new email notification sound during the day but turn it off at night (so I don't hear it beep for new email at 4 am.) I need to keep the ringer and SMS notification on at all times for work. Anyone know of an app that will work?

I use SPB Phone Suite. There are many profiles that you can have automatically activate according what you are doing. I have one mutes everything and tones down the phone ring while I'm sleeping, and one for meetings according to a calendar entry, once for bluetooth etc etc

It does not work on stock WM 6.5
No matter what you set,it still does not work. And there is no way to figure out how to activate the profile you just set...very stupid program,and it also complicates boot up on phone. It is unbelievable that is is created couple days ago,and is not fully compatible with 6.5
Also,when trying to set LED color,it also does not work. I removed it.
just set your email to not download during the night. im the same way i must have phone and text on at all times but my email only downloads between 7am and 9pm. no download no noise.

No idea why you couldn't get it to work, but it works fine for me. The only glitch for me is a special setting needed to toggle Bluetooth on the TP2.
Auto switches between work, home, meetings, night and car. Great IMHO.

I use Phone Alarm Pro on my Tilt without any issues at all. I use the today screen as I dont use TF3D. The Led's only have a few colors and I dont think they are changable on the TP2's.
You have to remember that the program is made to work with many different phones so all the features will not be the same on all the different phones.
I have used Phone alarm since my first Tytn. It is a must have. It was not created a few days ago but has evolved over the past 4-5 years.

Sorry you can't get it to work for you but it works just fine on my Tilt 2 and has been since I bought the phone.
