How to calculeted the 15-th digit of IMEI - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi,
Who knows, How to calculeted the 15-th digit of IMEI?
Thanks in advance!

not sure if it's accurate but wikipedia is your friend here. I was reading about it a week or two ago.

It's the first link in google
http://www.tele-servizi.com/janus/texts/imei.txt

or
try to digit *#06#
you would return an info screen with the imei (first 15 numbers is IMEI other 2 numbers is phone model)
ie 123456789012345(00) (00 is my phone model number)

Where else is the serial number?

I am trying to download the WM6 upgrade for my Orbit from O2 but they ask for a serial number. Having removed my battery I find that the serial number is partly worn-away by the battery, and one of the digits is illegible. Surely this number must also be held in the hardware? If so, how else can I recover it?
Thaks in advance.
Pete
All sorted now thanks!

Call Forwarding/Voicemail

Hey everyone
(i'm new here so sorry if this isn't the correct area to post)
Anyhow i'm having trouble with my call forward/voicemail setting.
When i go to input my voice number it's 1 digit too long to fit into the field. So i'm unable to forward calls to my voicemail..
Has anyone else has this problem? Anyone know a work around for it? Any help/advice would be great.
carrier is MobileWorld
Phone is: HTC P3300
here's a picture of the problem
notice how the phone number is there, it will only allow so many numbers. Well its just 1 number too short.
Anyone know if there's a fix for it?
Thanks in advance
hi, at work at the moment so its blocking the picture for me too see, have you tried +44 and taking out a "0"?? this might work?

hey,
the number is +4405 etc, the total amount of number is 17
the + symbol seems to take 2 characters up so i'm only able to enter 15 numbers.
so say if the number is +4405 123 456 789 101
i can only enter +4405 123 456 789 1
i'm not able to enter the last 2 numbers because i'm out of space
mine is set like this and it works:
+447788991122
your number should only be 13 digits long with the +44 on it,
sorry just noticed your post hadn't refreshed the page, never seen a number 17 digits long so i'm not sure, sorry!

ahh thanks dude its fixed now
i think the problem was that they gave me the incorrect number to check my voicemail. They told me to enter +44 059 07942 XXX XXX
I called back and they told me to use this +44 059 7942 XXX XXX
So i entered that number and i hold 1 but it doesn't work
However when i try your method +44 then my number it worked!
Some weird settings...anyways its sorted now, thanks a lot for your help, saved me from getting a new phone

Post upgrade question - phone number format in called id

Hello,
I have recently upgraded my JasJam from my cellular carrier's WM5 ROM to Schap's 4.20 WM6 Rom. Everything is good, however there's one annoying issue with the way that phone numbers are displayed in caller id.
The problem in Israel is that land lines have a two digit area code and cellular numbers have three digit area code. Is there a way to change the way that phone numbers are displayed in caller id? Basically, I would like to remove the parenthesis and the spaces and see the number in one string.
Thanks!
I have a similar problem. costa rica has 8 digit ph numbers with no area codes. so I get 3 digits in bracket followed by 3 more #'s - 2 numbers. very confusing. any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe
have you tried changing your regional settings?

Yes I did. No luck.
Anyone else? I'm sure there's a ph format somewhere, registry edit maybe?
Joe

do you have this problem in your nexus

i have a lot of phone numbers on my mobile.
i downloaded all the numbers from Gmail when i entered my gmail email and password.
now: i travel a lot so i have the important numbers installed in my mobile with my country international number and the not so important numbers with the normal phone number i use when i am in my country.
all of the numbers that starts with the phone numbers with out the country code, the name that i have put that number to will not appear but if i put it in international code the name appears with out a problem.
if i call jack for example with the international code it will appear like a normal call in the phone log, and when he calls me it will appear like a new call and will not tell me that i have called him before.
so no one has this problem?
shod i factory reset the phone?
So the problem is it doesn't match the number with a contact when they call you, unless you saved the same number with the country code?
Just a thought but is your phone set to your own region? I haven't looked at the matching code so it could be that it should simply match any number which contains the number in your contacts, regardless of country code. It could also be a match against your Local (regional setting). I don't really have this problem personally since I always enter all numbers with the country code since I also travel abroad often enough for it to be worth the effort.
EDIT: You can check the code here.
what will this code do?
i had the galaxy S with out problems, now with the galaxy nexus when i look at the call log, some times you can see the name some times no.

IMEI on Software is different than the one on the back. Normal?

When I dial *#06# on my phone I get my IMEI number.
The last digit is 5.
When I take a look on the back after removing the battery the IMEI there ends with 6.
Why? Is the last number important?
When you display the IMEI with *#06#, after the actual IMEI it will display a slash and either 05, 06, or 07, which indicates the IMEI specification revision., eg. 2450982462 / 07. The slash and the two digits after it are NOT part of your IMEI.
