Call Forwarding/Voicemail - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hey everyone
(i'm new here so sorry if this isn't the correct area to post)
Anyhow i'm having trouble with my call forward/voicemail setting.
When i go to input my voice number it's 1 digit too long to fit into the field. So i'm unable to forward calls to my voicemail..
Has anyone else has this problem? Anyone know a work around for it? Any help/advice would be great.
carrier is MobileWorld
Phone is: HTC P3300

here's a picture of the problem
notice how the phone number is there, it will only allow so many numbers. Well its just 1 number too short.
Anyone know if there's a fix for it?
Thanks in advance

hi, at work at the moment so its blocking the picture for me too see, have you tried +44 and taking out a "0"?? this might work?

hey,
the number is +4405 etc, the total amount of number is 17
the + symbol seems to take 2 characters up so i'm only able to enter 15 numbers.
so say if the number is +4405 123 456 789 101
i can only enter +4405 123 456 789 1
i'm not able to enter the last 2 numbers because i'm out of space

mine is set like this and it works:
+447788991122
your number should only be 13 digits long with the +44 on it,

sorry just noticed your post hadn't refreshed the page, never seen a number 17 digits long so i'm not sure, sorry!

ahh thanks dude its fixed now
i think the problem was that they gave me the incorrect number to check my voicemail. They told me to enter +44 059 07942 XXX XXX
I called back and they told me to use this +44 059 7942 XXX XXX
So i entered that number and i hold 1 but it doesn't work
However when i try your method +44 then my number it worked!
Some weird settings...anyways its sorted now, thanks a lot for your help, saved me from getting a new phone

Cannot change Voicemail Speed Dial number

Hye guys, I've searched everywhere looking for a way to actually change the speed dial number for voicemail.
Currently theres an entry as number 1 as Voicemail but there is no number attached to it. When I try and edit the number I'm not able to add an number, it has a drop down menu but it's blank and I cannot input a number into it.
I tried deleting the speed dial but then I'm unable to add a speed dial to number 1 as its reserved for voicemail...
I checked in Phone -> settings -> services and Voicemail and Text Messages has the right number for voicemail (121)
edit
using Black 2.0 with radio 1.38
thats because it hardcoded into the OS. the only thing you can do is set another speed dail number to your voicemails number and use that but 1 is always for voicemail sorry man

Nope not quite...
You can change it by going to settings-Phone-Services tab. It should be there with the Text MEssages Services Centre number.
I was able to edit mine when I tried YouMail. Not to mention how would these bad ass speedy cooked rom-a-lama-ding-dongs work?

sorry your right forgot about that.
Hmm
Well in phone -> settings -> services -> tect messages and voicemail the right numbers are there but the voicemail just seems to be missing from the phone
I'll give it a hard reset and see how it goes
If there is nothing registered in speed dial position 1 from before, isn't it just to push the square nr. 1 and enter it from there?
edit: that is the square no. 1 in speed dial menu

Post upgrade question - phone number format in called id

Hello,
I have recently upgraded my JasJam from my cellular carrier's WM5 ROM to Schap's 4.20 WM6 Rom. Everything is good, however there's one annoying issue with the way that phone numbers are displayed in caller id.
The problem in Israel is that land lines have a two digit area code and cellular numbers have three digit area code. Is there a way to change the way that phone numbers are displayed in caller id? Basically, I would like to remove the parenthesis and the spaces and see the number in one string.
Thanks!
I have a similar problem. costa rica has 8 digit ph numbers with no area codes. so I get 3 digits in bracket followed by 3 more #'s - 2 numbers. very confusing. any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe
have you tried changing your regional settings?

Yes I did. No luck.
Anyone else? I'm sure there's a ph format somewhere, registry edit maybe?

phone number matching bug?

Hi all,
I posted somethinig similar to this a while ago. I am using my Diamond to call VoIP numbers, i.e. call a landline then wait for a few seconds and enter the destination number followed by hash #. The landline number is the same for all destinations and only the second part differs, which is the destination number. The numbers look like:
0123456789, 00447890123456#
Now, if I store two or more such contacts in the address book, e.g.
Bar: 0123456789, 00441234567890#
Foo: 0123456789, 00447890123456#
Joe: 0123456789, 00445678901234#
the, regardless which one I call, say Foo, in the call log it will always list "Bar" as having been called. The same happens if I replace the comma with a "p". The number however is stored correctly, i.e. if I redial it, it will call the number for Foo which is what was dialed in the first place.
It appears as being a bug in WM6.1. I haven't tried WM6.5 (anyone?).
How in the world can I fix this?
Cheers for any help
foo? bar? linux-user? i google your text for translaiting but nothing understanding.
do you mean that the order is not correct?
(if you can give an example with more friendly-understanding/windows-user than you can get earlier response from other forum-users.)
hope, you not so much angry

I understood perfectly. Perhaps it is a english as a second language barrier. I will try to restate the issue. (I wish I knew the answer.)
When you have a extra long number stored to a contact (as you might when you dial a AT&T toll free number with some pauses, then a passcode, then a number.) And you have more than one contact stored with this long number... they all have the same first 10 or so numbers. So regardless of which one was called last, when you look up the call history log, it displays the first one.
It would appear the call history only looks at the first 10 or so digits to find a match.

if this is the case, you can use advanced config or diamond tweak (forgot which one had the option) and from there you can set how many numbers it should check
@misfitflt: Thanks for rephrasing the problem .. I was just about to post. Cheers!

I forgot to mention I already played with the number of trailing digits in AdvConfig (that's what apparently the option is called) ... I tried values from the default 6 to 20 and nothing changed. The buggy behaviour persists.
I recently tried a new dialer with address book application that replaces the TF3D dialer; it is called Inesoft Phone v4.5 (it's actually pretty cool). This one does differentiate between numbers with pauses or commas correctly!
I'll try switching off the dialer completely and use the built-in WM6.1 dialer to see if that works fine. If so then the bug is in TouchFlo (?).
Anyone knows of other good dialer software that I could try?
Cheers,
p.s. I'm surprised this hasn't surfaced until now though ... anyone out there with the same issue? Or maybe I need to give the thread a more appropriate title.
i have the same issue but learnt to live with it as i didnt want to shift to another dialer.
tried playing with the number in adv config but of no avail
lemme know if you find anything

[Q] Galaxy nexus call log not showing the contact names

My freind just bought a Galaxy nexus, he had a nokia phone and I told him to sync his contact with google to get them on his GN. everything thing went well and all of his contacts now shows in pepoles app in the phone.
when he recives a call the name will be displayed in the caller ID and in the miss call notification bar but not in the call log. all incoming, outgoing and miss call in the call log don't show names only numbers but in the contact list it shows all of his contacts. any ideas? suggesions?
I have the same problem even though my previous phone was Nexus One!
Solution
I found a work around the problem that I've read somewhere but i can't remember. Basically add to your contact's phone number the international key +1, +2, +44 etc. It's long an painful but it can't be helped .

Close but no cigar...
I live in Argentina and all my previous android phones used to work fine (caller id contact name was displayed) even if you used the international dialing prefix for Argentina mobile phones + 54 9 XXXXXXXXXX.
After getting my GN i found that contact names would not be recognized unless i take the "9" out of each number, which is inconvenient if you travel a lot overseas and you need to call back.
Is there any way to set the maximum digits that Android matches to a contact phone number ??
I was having this exact same problem and changing the code to (+44) (UK) did not work. I have searched long and hard as to why this is happening and I don't know. It is not due to the fact is not at +44 because sometimes the contact name will display and other times it won't. Is no-one else having this issue? It happens for the Messaging too! Gets quite annoying after a bit
I have same problem
I got an Irish Galaxy Nexus a couple of weeks ago (my 1st smartphone and 1st Android).
All my numbers are saved in international format, ie. southern Ireland numbers like 0861234567 are stored as +353861234567 and UK numbers like 07845123456 are stored as +447845123456.
The problem arises when someone rings me and their number shows in non international format - it doesn't show the persons name from contacts.
This was never a problem with any phone I had previously - any ideas?
Please see http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=24026. There's no solutions yet, though.

That doesn't work for me, I always have saved my numbers in international format but this just seems to be a bug with how the nexus matches numbers with contacts.
All previous phones (non smartphones) I have owned have not had problems like this, I think all they used to do was.match the last 7 digits of the number against the contacts.

I'D guess it's set to expect a ten digit US phone number. I think that is a property set in the build.prop. what country or locale do you want it to default to? I'm not sure I can help but I'll try...
