Different Ext. Rom (from e-Plus) on O2 HTC Touch Diamond - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Hello,
i am new here and i have one question.
I knew from my older devices that it is possible to stop the initialization before the "extended rom" will be installed.
I hope this i right. I mean the application that will be installed from the provider (t-mobile / vodafone / etc.)
I have bought an HTC Touch Diamond from O2 but i still use at the moment an e-plus sim card.
Has anybody the extended rom for e-plus so that i can install the specific applikation from e-plus.
Many thx for helping hope everybody can understand what i mean.

Whats on the HTC version of Extended ROM

having accidentally deleted ALL of my extended rom (Unlocked it, tried to install Tomtom on its own, device hung for ages and then soft reset - wiped the whole Extended Rom) I now have a completely vanilla device. can anyone post a list of what was on the extended rom so i can see if i´m going to miss anything. i had tomtom mobile on my old xda mini s but it doesn~t have the option to use an internal gps device so don~t know if i can use it on artemis so i~ll look at that later...
thanks
howdy,
what exactly do you need???:
english tmouk is on the wiki. (complete update routine)
german extrom ? http://www.ppc-welt.info/community/showthread.php?t=100190

Can someone post the French Extended rom from HTC.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
It was the HTC P3300 version of the ext rom i was after. just a list of whats on there, or a copy of the cabs if anyone has them. I've reinstalled Tomtom (a genuine licensed one) which works so i just need to work out what else i lost from the ext rom.
Cheers
p.s.
...what is tmouk? is it t-mobile UK?
It is T-Mobile UK

No Wlan On Hero !--proof Here

contacted imeicheck-people about wrong model ID flashing htc rom.
here their answers:
Hello,
you are wrong. For sure you try to flash a NOT compatible firmware.
It sounds like you try to flash HTC Artemis firmware on a HTC Hero or vice versa.
The HTC Artemis has different chipset inside (it has additional WiFi chipset) than the HTC Hero. (In case you just try to enable WiFi on a Hero... the WiFi chipset is missing, no firmware/software can replace a missing chipset + antenna)!
>From outside both devices look same but inside they have different hardware.
Flashing a ROM from another device most likely will cause serious damage to it.

and just a second later
Hello,
up to now only T-Mobile sells the HTC Hero (the version without WiFi).
Nevertheless you have the following options:
- flash any HTC Hero version you like (T-Mob-UK-English, T-Mob-GER-German, T-Mob...)
- to skip installing the "nice" T-Mobile branding immediately skip the installation of Extended ROM (a message comes up: "Please wait, device will configure in 3 seconds") after hard reset by sticking in "Reset".
We opened HERO device and it is missing the WiFi chipset. So we gave up to try to flash HTC Artemis ROM since there is no real reason to risk a device.

IMEI-CHECK Team
It this possible? "missing the WiFi chipset"?????
If chip is BlueLink 6.0 Platform: BRF6350(Bluetooth®,FM,WLAN) herehttp://focus.ti.com/general/docs/wtbu/wtbuproductcontent.tsp?templateId=6123&navigationId=12659&contentId=14646
then it is one chip!!!
Maybe WLAN Antena is not inserted?
Or it is another chip?
Lets wait some more - there must be a good reason for the Dutch MDA with WLAN ... not sure if that unlocking-company is correct ...
any dutch owners around?
whats your device id?
HTC = arte100
T-Mobile = arte110
O2 = arte200
if its not arte110, chance are 0 to succeed with flashing
dutch artemis here
I have a dutch Artemis with vendor id ARTE110. tmobile mda3.
Imei check is wrong... It has WiFi capabilities and in the dutch rom it's activated. It's the same device inside.. just another ID. I also unlocked the device with their services (imei-check) and it's not flashable with the ARTE100 rom..
Rom version: 1.13.114.1 NLD
Radio 02.49.90
Can you do a dump of the Dutch ROM?

Althought I beleive the "guts" of the HTC Artemis are based on the TCS3500 chipset from TI, the Bluelink chip is not used. The technical specification (page 201 of the HTC Artemis user guide) says that the FM radio is served by Silicon Lab's Si47001 chip.

Not on my ARTE 110

It seems tmobile requested a different ARTE code this to prevent us from installing other ROM'S. The dutch code is ARTE110 as wel (I own one) but it has all the capabilities of the ARTE100, adding one and one this device is the same as the arte100. THis would mean if we can rewrite the software for the rom upgrades to take All ARTEXXX codes we will be able to excange roms. Its just a number.
I think t-mobile did this to stop us unbranding our devices the easy way: loading HTC / Qtek Roms thereby increasing the second hand value.
Its probably merely time that keeps us away from loading roms from different vendors.
... well,
in oder to prove this wrong or wright, we simply need to get our hands on a dutch rom (-upgrade). all of us having cid-unlocked our gadgets should be able to install this then and we should have wlan--- or not!
wifi
hi dunno if this helps but when the tmobile customisation kicks in it says remove btlnk as part of the customisation

since i screwed up my extrom my mdac boots without any extrom files. after the first boot i get wlan in commanager and under connections! only downpoint: it doesnt function at all; and after another softreset all these entries are gone, only reinstallable by another hardreset.
we need a dutch rom to experiment further!!!
Dutch Extended Rom and some Windows files
Good day, please find attached the files in my Extended Rom with 2 additional files from the windows folder on my device.
Hope this might do some tricks on the WIFI problems.....
The Windows WIFI.zip inside the main zip file are the 2 files from the windows folder on my device. Might there by any other files needed, please let me know!
My device: T-Mobile MDA Compact III dutch version!!!
ROM: 1.13.114.1 NLD
Radio: 02.49.90
Prot: 4.1.13.25
Ext ROM: 1.13.114.101
Model: ARTE110
Regards,

Any news yet on the WIFI issue?
i am sorry to say, but all this seems rather pointless.
i managed to install:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/ARTE_DOPODAU_12570702_026990_WWE_SHIP.exe
which, afa we know, is complete with all wifi stuff, and it doesnt supply me with wifi on my hero(no wlan chip).

I already expected this. Ok, one more proof. I think we can now be quite sure that wifi is definitely not in there...
(hopefully) Breaking News
Good day,
While scrolling through my files, found the following link in \windows\startup
WiFiInit.lnk which points to WiFiInit.exe in \windows\
(see attached )
This might startup the whole wifi stuff at boot......
Please let me know if anything changed in the situation
i have MDAc 3 with flashed original HTC software and wifi dont work pda crash but original software is nice and quickly then t-mobile's OS
Hi,
To thormdac are you try to install rom from htc p3300 ftp://[email protected]/Ar...dates/ART_HTCWWE_11240501_026790_WWE_Ship.exe
Because rom ftp://xda:[email protected]/ARTE_DOPODAU_12570702_026990_WWE_SHIP.exe is with disable wifi
I'm sure that mda compact III have wifi - we need to install rom from ARTE100 OR ARTE200 not from ARTE110.

WM6 update available from VF Germany

Hi,
apologies if this is old news (I did use the search function before posting). Just found the official VPA Compact III / IV update to Windows Mobile 6 on the Vodafone D2 Support pages (Hilfe & Support > Technischer Support > Vodafone Personal Assistant > VPA compact III). I did not have time yet to install it though.
File name is RUU_Hermes_VF_CH_GER_3.54.166.3_6275_1.47.00.10_108_Ship_UpdateSplash.exe.
Any feedback on this version (compared to the official HTC TyTN version) is welcome!
Regards
Meikel
It was a swiss ROM, VF has now another there:
RUU_hermes_VF_DE_3.54.162.2_6275_1.47.00.00_108_ship.exe
With this one, some VF-today-plugs are installed (without extend Rom), and the possible german VF-Account-data are preinstalled.
I like the swiss-variant more. If its possible and not illegal, i could upload both files here. Perhaps one of the mods could tell me how if its possible.

Vodafone live! & MobileTV
Dear all,
currently the Live! Portal is not working!
You will simply get a text version of the portal.
I figured out in a german forum that it might be a serverside problem of Vodafone and not a Client problem.
So unfortunately changing the Useragent or UaProof will not work...

REPLACING AT&T Tilt ROM

Hello!
I just got an unlocked at&t and I would like to install a new HTC TYTN II WM6
ROM...even the original one.
In fact, I am in France and I have a bouygues telecom contract that has
a bug with HTC TYTN II/ Tilt.....but to fix the error I need to have an HTC
TYTN II ROM. Besides the problem of the keyboard, do you think I can replace
it?
Sorry for probably the stupid questions but I am VERY NAIVE with WM programming...

HTC 4350 Vodafone Wing with none-vodafone rom?

Hi, I recently got a HTC 4350 from a friend of mine, it was locked though so I got it unlocked (both sim and cim) and upgraded to WM6 (with a dutch vodafone rom gotten from this forum), only thing is, the GPRS settings seem to be pre-configured and there doesn't seem to be a way to change them.
I would like to use the WWE edition of the rom (from what I've learned so far that seems to be the "standard" version for HTC phones?) so that it really is fully "unlocked" but I am affraid if I attempt to use this I will break my phone.
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to get this done?
Also, is there an english version of this rom? (With WM6). Cause all I've managed to find were roms with other languages, basically anything but English.
Thanks a lot in advance
