[Q]Simple way to backup original rom? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

I want to install a cooked rom in my diamond, but for safety reasons and warranty reasons i'd like to make a copy of my original branded rom.
Is there any simple way to make a copy of the original rom in my diamond? =/
I have a swedish 3-branded telephone with a v.1.37 branded rom.
I already know how to install a new rom and spl, I only need to know how to copy/backup my original branded rom...
I've searched the forum and couldn't find any thread? If there already is a thread in the forum please link it in this post!
// Kind regards

Newbie. HOW to dump/backup?

Hi. Sorry for new thread, i've tried to search for that but with no succes.
I have just bought my Qtek 9000 (HTC universal) and i want to update it to some custom WM6 rom, but first i want to backup all my original ROM and anything that i need to backup in order to not void my warranty.
So...Please be kind and link me to needed tools or something like that.

How can I take backup of my original ROM to restore it later acc. to my region?

Hi, I am from India. I just bought HTC P3300 with MapAsia(MapKing) installed for my region.
I am looking forward to put a cooked ROM with wm6.1, but the problem is I want to backup my original ROM incase i need to take it to HTC for some hardware problem within the warranty period.
Is there any way by which i can make my PDA as it was on the first day even after putting a COOKED ROM?
I mean putting back my country specific original ROM.
Please give a note of help and also gv me the specific links to putting COOKED ROMS from scratch including unlocking(cid unlocking and all...) and all that as I am new to WM platform.
Thanks
Cheers.
You cannot backup your rom. You can backup the installed programs and settings. But not the rom itself. But why bother? On the HTC site you can download the original wm6 rom.
Hi..
Actually I had the same question. But since you say it's not possible I just ask where in HTC web site are the wm6 original roms? Are all languages available?
Thanks
i think on HTC web site you need to register (club or something) to download a rom. but those official ROMs can also be downloaded elsewhere.
check the wiki upgrade section for infos on ROMs.
--> list of original shipped ROMs
its available on the site itself!!!
here is the link....
i did not try anything!!!

hot to test the roms

i am very interested to test out the english rom 1.37 to see if it is really faster. but i want to be able to go back to my own rom. (dutch)
so could the people that have done this give some links to information about:
1. how to back-up and restore your own rom
2. which hardspl works (or is it not needed)
3. personalize your diamond to your language (t9, automatic network settings etc)
i know that the threads are out there, but this way, we can use the knowledge from the people that have done it with their diamond.

i also had the dutch rom, but i upgraded it to the english rom, can verry recommend that. T9 is working in dutch but you need to add some rules to your registry

Which English version did you take? The UK one (405) or the Asian one? (707)
i do have the same question , but my main concern is the warranty. If I make a backup of my original ROM using hard SPL and flash it to a custom firmware . Do I still have my warranty if I restore the original ROM ? Will HTC can track my flash activity on my device ?

rom cooking

hey @ all cookers
i try to cook a original HTC Diamond ROM to a custom ROM
but the problem is that i donĀ“t now what i have to do
can enyone help me?
and excuse my bad english
If you want to make your own custom ROM, you should for starters try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=513311
Very easy to use.
However, and I suspect this is what you meant, if you want to upgrade to a ROM someone else has made, look around the Diamond ROM Development for a ROM you like. Download it and run the CustomRUU.exe if included.
Before you do EITHER of these things you MUST read and follow the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211
If you don't follow these instructions to the letter you will brick your phone.

How to make my Diamond orginal so that the warranty gets valid???

Hello! The amplifier in my diamond is broken. The audio sounds very thin and week trough the audio-port, but sounds good when i use my bluetooth-headset.
How do I make it original so i can use the warranty?
I have hard-spl and a custom rom, do i have do replace the hard-spl with the original one, or can i just install a original rom and still use the hard-spl??
Where do i find the orginal "hard-spl" in that case?
Pleas help me! Sorry for the bad English.
you can just download the stock rom provided by your provider, if you have bought it through him, or if it was with a generic rom, you can easily go to the htc website, give your serial number and it will give you the link to download the rom directly from the htc website.
It will flash the original hard-spl, radio and rom, so it will be original
best regards

Okey thank you very mouch!
Pretty weird. Are you sure i'll get the original hard-spl by doing this? Because I installed a original ROM by doing this, and then i installed a custom ROM again after a while, without installing hard-spl and it went just fine:S
search!
see this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=537496
actually i've downloaded 7 days ago the stock rom directly from the htc website and it has flashed the original hardspl 1.93, radio 1.08 and last diamond offical rom...
all through the same exe files
