Hi all,
I've done a lot of searching and testing but I just can't find the right settings to speed-up finger scrolling with TouchFlo. In an app like Contacts for example, I swipe my finger from bottom to top (and top to bottom) but the scrolling doesn't gather enough momentum and it slows down quickly..
I was hoping to fine tune scrolling by registry but I don't fully understand the effects of changing these values in
HKLM/Software/OEM/TFLOSettings:
1stSample
2ndSample
Boundry
DownLenght
PageHigh
PageLow
PanType
SpeedHigh
SpeedLow
UpLenght
Does anyone have any ideea how to set these values so I can get faster scrolling?
I'm using Artemis Vanilla 4.01 and I enabled scrolling with a .cab file I found in /Windows folder
Hi Al3cks; this may be too late, but I had the same question as you. After a bit of experimentation, I found out that SpeedHigh is the 'fast' scroll limit, and SpeedLow is the 'slow' limit.
The lower they are, the faster you go. Try 20 for high, and 70 for low, I find that comfortable.
Also see: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Touch_Sensitivity
Note that the SpeedHigh and SpeedLow meanings are wrong on that page. Caused me a bit of confusion.

hi, i just want to ask a quick question, can you make the screen more sensative with a quick tweek of the registry?
mine sometimes just does not work and i have to really tap the screen to get it to work, its bad on texting as i have to keeo going back and having to respell stuff.
anyone got any ideas??
Sensitivity
You sure can change the sensitivity of the touchscreen. I've changed the sensitivity of the touchscreen by editing the register. Unfortunately at the moment i do not know which register key you should edit.
thats a start, i didnt think you could but thought to ask the question anyway, does anyone know any reg keys that you need to change to do this??
would be a huge help,

Hi Joey,
Isn't it this key:

nope, that's not it.
HKLM\Drivers\TouchPanel\PressureThreshold
higher value = more sensitive
Screen sensitivity - what values
Hi
I have Orbit (touch cruise) with Artemis Touch v4.02 ROM, with touchflo
This ROM has a program in settings called 'advanced config'.
Many settings can be done here without going into registry - including sensitivity.
However I have a question
After installation the setting was at about 7000 - I have tried mutliple settings between 2000 and 7000 but none seem to have much change.
My main problem is scrolling the address book. It is hopeless compared to the iPhone.
Nearly every attempt to scroll opens a contact at some stage in the scroll. Solution is to drag up left or right side of screen to appropriate letter eg 'B' then slowly drag to eg 'Bill'
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks ColinK
Hey All!
Have used search many many times, and tried searching Google, but can't find any result!!!
I have tried many Shell UI programs like ThrottleLauncher, Wisbar Advance, PointUI and SPB MobileShell. Of all these, SPB seems the most polished.
Whilst these apps manage to hide the ancientness that is WindowsMobile 6.1, it doesn't allow you to skin the scrollbars, buttons or dropdown menus. Can anyone think of a way to do this? Maybe something that does the same job as PalmRevolt does on Palm OS?
Surely it'd be a case of finding a program that can replace some icons / settings in the Windows Directory...
I'm keeping SPB Mobileshell too.. Its just that I'm resigning to the fact that I'll be stuck with WinMo6.1 on my Palm Treo Pro for quite some time!
Thanks all!
I'm still going to use SPB, but thought this woud

Using a resource editor, it is possible to skin almost everything. It's just a bunch of dlls, exes and registry entries. I use PE Explorer and it's great and very powerful, but it does cost quite a bit of money..

No unfortunately its not possible. At most you can alter themes, as I am sure you already know. The only other thing you can do is change the size of the scroll bars in the registry, and if you set their width to 0, they disappear... A setting like 2, makes them thin enough that they indicate where you are, but can't really be used.
Apart from that, you already have the right idea with SPB, Point UI, etc. You may want to know that PointUI hides more of the oem interface with the pay version and will be adding a dialer among other things in the next update. You did not mention Manilla... I don't use it b/c I just don't have the time to deal with new ROM bugs, but nonetheless it does the best the best job at hiding winmo, and has the most skinned elements...
EDIT: Just read the above post... I guess it is possible.
OK, decided to add some addtional stuff
Altering WM menu system and Dialogs
Try this program
FingerSuite
or
Try the extracted HTC Menu app
or
Edit the Menu Font size registry key for a less pretty effect, but it means one less program to install.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\gwe\menu\popfnt
and change the value for the "Ht" entry to "1000" decimal (from 1200).
play around with 800, 900, and 1000 and see which suits your personal preference
Modifying Scroll Bars
Change the thickness of scrollbars
To change the thickness of the scrollbars at the right/bottom of documents larger than the screen, adjust...
For the horizontal (bottom) scrollbar:
HKLM\System\GWE\cyHScr = 9 (DWORD decimal)
For the vertical (right) scrollbar:
HKLM\System\GWE\cxVScr = 9 (DWORD decimal)
The default thickness is 13. You can set the value to anything you may like
Change the length of scrollbar arrow buttons
To go with changing the thickness of the scrollbars, you may wish to change the length of the scrollbar arrow buttons...
For the horizontal (bottom) scrollbar arrows:
HKLM\System\GWE\cyVScr = 0 (DWORD decimal)
For the vertical (right) scrollbar:
HKLM\System\GWE\cxHScr = 0 (DWORD decimal)
The default length is 13. You can set the value to pretty much anything you like
Found another useful app for handling scroll bar color, background colors ect.

Hmm, real pity nothing can be done to skin those ugly looking scrollbars, eventhough SPB or any other software will beautify the look as well as experience of using the device, the scrollbars will still leave a signature stating "I am the ugly looking WM 6.1"
I just recently flashed SNN Diamond on my Wizard and I'm loving it so far but I do have one caveat. When I put a customized background on my today/home, the drop-down start menu adopts the same image as its background. I don't want my drop-down start menu to have a background image, I'd prefer it to be a plain color. How do I change it? You would think that this is a simple thing to do but I have been at it for a day, still no luck. Any ideas guys?
I am new to touchflo and touchscreens in general, so please forgive me if there is an easy fix to this.
Is there a way to reorganize the apps in TouchFLO 3D's program menu?
It seems to me all that I can do is add and delete. Doing that results in add (+) holes in the menu, which is just unsightly. I haven't been able to drag any icons from one spot to another.
Sadly, it doesn't seem there is a way to drag and drop the icons. The only real option is to manually add items that are lower on the menu to the empty buttons and then remove the originals. Seems like a rather silly oversight in my opinion.
Thanks for the heads up. That does seem to be quite the oversight.
I've put a new custom ROM (Freeza) on my TP2. It's a stripped down version of the standard ROM.
Everything is great *except* I no longer have finger friendly scrolling of my emails. This used to work fine but now when I swipe an email to scroll it all that happens is that I select text on the page.
It must be a registry setting somewhere but I can't find it. I've even been through and compared the registry settings with a stock TPS but I can't see anything obvious.
Has anyone seen this before and know a fix?
TIA.
It's been discussed here:

the problem is the registry key does not work for me while using htc sense. I still have the slow menu. Can anyone tell me more about this?
Justrome0, are you trying to change the menus that pop up inside sense? For example, menus in each of the manila tabs? If so, to my knowledge that is not possible. The reg edit only works to switch between WM or HTC menus outside of sense.
Thanks sean... yeah i was wondering if that is possible .... i searched a lot and it seems it's not possible, it seems applications can override the menu they will use regardless of the operating system default.
I was curious tho if there's any way to tweak that menu to appear faster. The animation is really slow on blackstone. Probably works fine on HD2 but not here ... maybe the duration can be changed to like 0 or 1 frames.
I hope I'm not confusing what you're trying to do. If you're using the HTC menus outside of manila in other applications then there certainly is a way to speed them up, and it's essentially a two part tweak. With a registry editor go to HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCMenus and look for three things, EnableVsync, AnimationRadio Portrait and AnimationRadio Landscape. Start with EnableVSync and set its decimal value to 0. This will allow the animation of the menu to scroll up or spread out twice as fast. Next look at both AnimationRadio settings. The AnimationRadio controls how fast the animation of the menu scrolls up or spreads out. By default their decimal setting is 16. The higher you set the animation speed the less animation you get, but the faster the menu opens. Traditionally I set each decimal value to 64, but you might want to play with different settings to see what works best for you. You may just try setting Vsync to 0 first and see if that is fast enough. Keep in mind that the animation radio tweak may not work consistently in some programs. For example, a couple of menus in my registry editor pop up with animation some do not. For me, however, that is the only program that does that. Hope that helps.
Thanks a lot for info sean, unfortunately it does not work for me.. I either hate it so much that I can't see the difference or there's actually no difference .
VSync was already 0 for me probably changed by the cook.
Nevermind tho ... i found a titanium theme that looks like HTC Sense and it's pretty nice.
If you want to check it out it's here.

Has some issues but at least it's responsive.
I have an HTC HD2 phone running stock Windows 6.5 ROM. I have installed the flash lite application and downloaded some freeware flash lite games.
The games run perfectly however one particular game I play requires me to keep the screen pressed. But when I do this the flash pop up menu is displayed (pause, play, loop etc). Is there a way of disabling the menus you have mentioned above to stop them from popping up, maybe a reg tweak or something?
Appreciate your help.
