I'm wondering if anyone can knows how to disable some (anoying for me) system sounds. I was searching and searching again with dif keywords and never had a sure response.
So.... Here it goes:
First ones: Done
The call and end call button sounds. When we press this buttons there is a "beep" that i want to get rid...
Registry:
Red Button: HKLU\\ControlPanel\Sounds\Ending\Sound = *none*
Green Button: HKLU\\ControlPanel\Sounds\Dialing\Sound = *none*
Second: Done
When the call ends there is also a sound. A anoying "beep beep beep"...
Registry: HKLU\\ControlPanel\Sounds\CallDrop\Sound = *none*
Registry: HKLU\\ControlPanel\Sounds\NetWorkDrop\Sound = *none*
Third: Done
After a outgoing call ends there is a network message with the account ballance. Does anyone knows how to disable the sound of it?
Registry: HKLU\\ControlPanel\Sounds\USSDBuzz\Sound = *none*
Registry: HKLU\\ControlPanel\Sounds\InCallBuzz\Sound = *none*
Fourth: Done
Does anyone knows if there is the possiblity to remove the SMS delivery report sound? (Only sound, not disabling delivery report)
Resolution: Not a registry key, but this wonderfull freeware program will do the job: Sms Report Eraser
Finally everything is ok has i want.
Thanks to all
Cheers
Hi
This might help it might not
If you go to Start>Settings>Personal>Sounds & Notifacations
you can uncheck the "Enable sounds for Events" Box
This got rid of that annoying Bong everytime you use hibernate or delete something

Dave
Thanks for the post, but is not what i am looking for!

No worries
I wasn't sure it would be but thought it may help

you can use "SchapsAdvandcedConfig" for disabling the delivery notification, theres also a registry key to change.
i´ve added a screenshot with the right line for the configuration your looking for.

I been checking registry try to find if it's possible to disable the SMS delivery report sound, but can't find anything.

But... Does anyone knows or can give me a hint, if i can make a workarround of this?
To filter if a received sms is delivery report or normal?
Hope someone can help.

Good job! Thanks for sharing it!
how to add battery status in a bar which shows sound and network connectivity. the top bar
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock=0
I'm curious... I'm about to install TotalCommander right now, but I've got a quick question:
I don't want to delete the dropped call/dialing/end call tones entirely, but instead I want to replace them. Would I just input the name of the file I want to replace it with within the registry, or...? How would that work?
I've reeaallly been wanting the Metal Gear codec open/close noise as those tones for a while... >3

This software is no longer freeware, do you maybe have the freeware version of it and could you upload it somewhere.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM\SMSInboxThreadingDisabled

this key disabled the sms threading, without disabling the sound and other notifications (as far as i know).
Edit: in the middle of the key, it should be "settings", somehow the forum forbids post this "Settings" key.
Thank you.
there is even no such key in vanilla 4.01

I'd like that too, anyone come up with a solution please let me know.
Just use schaps advanced configuration tool!
Other Option
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings (The Space in "Settin gs" is somehow accidently added by the forum, don't make that )
and there should be a
DWORD named "SMSNoSentMsg" set to 1
change it to 0 and you should get your notfication. If this Key and DWORD does not exist, create it with the value 0. Should work then

Hi,
I had the same issue. Are you sure you are using "Settings" key and not "Setting s". I was using "Setting s" key and this was causing a problem for me.
Also if you are using the right key, make sure as soon as you change your registry, you open text messages. I did this and the change is instantaneous, not requiring restart.
Hope this helps.
THANKS A LOT! Works fine for me. ROM: Artemis Vanilla 4.01 WWE.
No problems with rebooting mentioned somewhere here - everything stays.
P.s.: somebody make this topic sticky perhaps?

I have made that registry change this way:
- using Total Commander as registry editor
- HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting already exists
- created OEM folder using Mkdir
- created key SMSInboxThreadingDisabled = 1 using +add value+
- then going to messaging --> text messages - everything OK, no threads
- soft reset
- added key has disappeared (folder OEM and added key are gone)
- sms threading is back switched on :-(
What am i doing wrong ?

It works fine with me.
I use Vanilla 4.01 and PHM editor. not sure if you have saved the change under Total Commander, or maybe you have some kind of software that prevents changing Registry keys.
martin.eu, please wait about 5-10 minutes after registry change and do reset after that time. Windows requires some time to write registry to the ram from the cache.
It seems that there is some problem with regedit plugin in total commander. Change made with PHM regedit and everything works fine ...
thx,

Thank god for this thread, I can't imagine what insanity at Microsoft led to the implementation of the threaded, no notification SMS system - It's horrible !

Hi every one and thanks in advance for your help.
On my Samsung i780, there is no way to accept/dismiss the ALS (automatic Line Selection) and this message takes the use of the left soft key rendering useless on the today screen.
I have tried the soft key software and the Shaps advance customisation but the notification message stay on always...
I would try to attach 2 pictures so everybody can have a better idea of my problem. I have make a GREEN CIRCLE pointing to the problem.
Any ideas / solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
I am having the same problem with I780PUHB3 phone ROM and russian Beeline SIM card. I figured out it depends on SIM card, so you may be lucky asking your carrier for a neew SIM card.
i had the same problem.. but when i install RealVGA, the icon is not in the taskbar anymore, and the left softkey is usable now, maybe is a problem with a space in the screen
I have/had the same problem, but unfortunately there seem to be no solution but to change the sim.
I tried it with two "3"-simcards in Austria: The new one seemingly doesn't have a second line.
remove it from registry
To make the notification disappear, remove the 2 entries under the following registry.
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\State\Shell\Notifications\Active
REMEMBER to back up the registry first. But everytime u get phone service again u need to do the above again.
Anyway, hope this helps.

Make changes in registry as follows:
[\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
Enabled=0
Is there any way to keep the indicator at the top of the screen but suppress the notification message in the bottom left?
I'd like to know which line I currently have selected but don't want to lose the use of the left soft key.
The first registry change in this thread only works until you turn the phone on and off again which is unhelpful.
The second registry change in this thread gets rid of the indicator on the top bar - thus getting rid of the notification message - but that's not quite what I want to do.
As far as i know there is no way of doing what you want, we went through this a while back when i asked the question ages ago and i dont think it has been sorted yet.
Basically the samsung dialer skin brings the line 2 functionality, it is either a choice of using that skin with the line 2 and the annoying notification, or using the standard dialer without.
Its a tough call, i went for the second option. If i ever work it out i will be sure to let you know.
I would love a further fix for this. The problem with the fix below is that I cannot use a skin for the dialer and I much prefer some of the more finger friendly dialers...
[\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
Enabled=0
So any further ideas?
Hello people,
Has anyone solved this problem?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
in some/most ROMs there's the Call History list
with these four Filter Icons at the bottom of the screen
(see screenhsot attached). I am wondering which dll/bmp/reg setting
or whatsoever I have to replace/modify to get this filter icons activated.
Could someone help? I already struggled with tapres.dll and phcanover.bmp
but couldn't get it. Maybe sounds silly for some of you, but it would be
highly appreciated if someone could lead me the way

Hi guys,
I just picked up my MDA Vario V and noticed that some things seem to be missing compared to the normal TP2
-TF3D2 style notification bubbles
-New notification manager
-Facebook upload feature
-Option to disable the icon screen you get when clicking on the taskbar.
Is there a way to fix this through cabs, or do I need to wait for HardSPL to come out and flash a new rom?

This should get facebook working...
Do the following 3 reg edits...
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\
1. Facebook.Disable (Set the DWORD to 0)
2. Manila://people\browserlayer\peopleupdate.page.hidden (Set the DWORD to 0)
3. Manila://PeopleDetail\peopleView.page.hidden (Set the DWORD to 0)
Then do a soft reset of the device and it should work
Thanks for your help. But it does not work On the one hand now you can go on "Me" (contact card) and can see the facebook button at the bottom (it wasn't there before changing the registry settings). But by trying to start the "app" nothing happens. it's like a block..

I think so. I've got the german device, so I don't really know how the tabs are named on the english one. But I think I know what you mean. So I think normally you should have some kind of an "action" button for each contact where you can see the facebook status, etc.? I haven't got this tab. My tabs for each contact are: Details (with all numbers and adresses, etc); sms messaging, e-mail and phone history

Do you have this screen when in the contact...
Hi boys,
i don't have TP2, just TP1, but I am solving this problem too...i have a ported version of TF3D2 without facebook integration, but I was able to get it working.
I've attached all files that I needed for FB integration. Some files are hidden..
Copy only those manila files that are not included in your ROM.
Maybe the only needed file will be FacebookSDK.dll
copy all needed to \Windows\ folder...
hope I helped a bit
PS: you also have to make registry edit mentioned before.

No, I do not have this screen But after copying some files (incl. the FacebookSDK.dll) out of the fb.zip I got the following:
My own contact-card (screen2)
Contact-Card of a contact in "view-mode" (screen1) --> "Events-Tab" is missing
Contact-Card of a contact in "edit-mode" (screen3)
If I want to link a contact with a foto, I get screen4 --> After choosing "Facebook-Profil" I get the list with all my facebook contacts (screen5)
Edit: Sorry, the attached thumbnails aren't in the right order. So: "Screen2" is the first one, "Screen1" is the last, "Screen3" is the fourth, "Screen 4" is the third and "Screen5" is the second one.
I did not have any of these "facebook-links" in my TF3D-menus before.
Does anybody have an idea how to fix the problem with the events-tab ?

does anybody know how to activate the "progams-tab" in the slider?

Multi Slider Incoming Call Screen (MSICS for short)
MSICS comes with three sliders instead of one.
The bottom slider is the usual one. No need to elaborate on that one.
The middle slider is the one I have been missing, is allows you to answer with the speaker on in one slide. (Instead of three actions in the original dialer: slide to answer slide down that black thing and pressing on the speaker icon.)
The top slider is the real interesting one it allows you to ignore the incoming call and send the caller a SMS massage with a predefined text (slide right).
Slide left on the top slider to send your location (as Google Maps link) to the caller.
This option is a very convenient way to reply to calls that usually say: "you're late! Where are you?".
MSICS is an idea for an incoming call screen. I need someone to create it.
The picture was made with Photoshop, this is not real (YET!)
If you want to help making MSICS real, please contact me.
Gr8 idea!!!
This would be very useful! Simple and brilliant idea!
The "preview" is fine too..
I wish I would be such kind of application developer that I could implement this through coding (not through PS )
Summa summarum, you've got +1 vote from me...
Hope that somebody with enough coding/HD2/Sense experience would take care about this project.

I liked too, but I think that, only the ones that can help making this should answer, otherwise you'll receive dozens of replys saying "I would love to have this...", " I need this...", " I want this..." and in the end you'll get no positive answer.

I can't find where inesoft phone does some of this. Can you point us in the right direction with a link showing it.
overkill
Seems like overkill. Mute is already an easy option with the volume buttons, speaker is only 1 tap after answering, S2U2 offers an sms option which is just 1 tap after ignoring.
I do like the map option. I would suggest hopping over to S2U2 and suggesting it to AC. The S2U2 option pops up the choice of sending an sms or not after you slide to ignore and I would think it could easily be changed from 2 buttons to 3 buttons adding a send map button in addition to the send sms and cancel buttons.
The question is how hard is it to incorporate finding your gps location, mapping it and sending that map when you do hit that new button. I'm sure it can be done, but how much work will it be and is anyone willing to do it. Adding it to an existing similar app already in use rather than yet another new app eating up more memory makes more sense to me. Just my opinion.
One person thinks of an idea... shares it...and another idea is born.
What about a 4 way slider in the shape of a cross instead? Each direction could have a separate action associated with it:
Push UP: Answer call and start speaker phone
Push LEFT: Answer call in phone
Push RIGHT: Reject call
PUSH DOWN: Reject call and send SMS message.

Great idea. I'm in !
For a while, when reading, I was hoping it was indeed real.
I have no skills to implement on the WM side, yet I think the top slider is on you'd want to potentially disable/make harder to activate, if you do slide on the wrong one among the lower two everything is alright anyway, if you slide by mistake on the top one it could have bad effects
