[How To] Flash KS20 Complete Guide + Official ROMs DL list + Free Unbranded .nv2 - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Good NEWS
For those who lost their .nv2 files and would like to generate new one, pls refer to:
[KS20] NV2 - QCN TOOLS V1.4 (new soft) [RELEASED]
The benefit of Unbranded .nv2 are:
1) With Unbranded .nv2 you can flash with any Official Unbranded rom directly, without modification need to solve the OTP and illegal use issue.
2) No more SIM lock
3) Polish's KS20 contains special .nv2, neither normal branded or unbranded version, in this case you will have to send me your .nv2 to do some modification before you can flash to other roms, otherwise OTP or illegal use would occur.

Important notice:
1. Before you do any flash, make sure you have a .nv2 backup with you or you will have troubles later, the size of .nv2 file is always about 116KB
Backup or restore .nv2 post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396032
2. If you use "Erase EFS" option in LGMDP for flashing, you would have to restore your .nv2 file after flashing
3 If you use "none" option (Emergency mode) or Reset Database & Contents" option (Normal mode), you dun have to restore .nv2 file after flashing

Background Information
What is Branded and Unbranded version KS20?
Branded KS20 would have service provider logo at boot up screen while Unbranded KS20 would show "LG" only
However your KS20 is Branded or Unbranded version is actually depended on the .nv2 file in the phone
Branded KS20 has Branded .nv2 and Unbranded KS20 has Unbranded .nv2
What is .nv2 file?
It contains your KS20's imei no. and also calibration data for the phone functionality, thus if you lose .nv2 file, you will lose your imei no. and phone functionality = pure PDA
What application do i need for flashing?
LGMDP (LGMDP_EURO). There are two flashing modes can be used: (a) Normal mode and (b) Emergency mode
For details of it pls refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396032
What is different between LG Composite and Microsoft USBfn in engineering menu
"LG Composite" is for flashing new rom, backup and restore .nv2 ONLY
"Microsoft USBfn" is for conecting to Windows Mobile Device Centre or ActiveSync
What rom should you choose?
If you have a Branded KS20 you can flash to any Official Branded rom, but not Official Unbranded rom as "illegal use" and "OTP Block" will result
If you have a Unbranded KS20 you can flash to any Official Unbranded rom, but not Official Branded rom as "illegal use" and "OTP Block" will result
Note: Official rom from LG always has 1x .dz file only after unzip, if it is instead 1xFLASH.bin+10x.mbn files, it may be modified to be hybrid rom. It is always recommend to download Official Rom from this post ONLY.
What cause "illegal use" or "OTP Block" problem after flashing?
For "OTP block" or "illegal use" result after flashing, the reason is:
Unbranded phone flashed with Branded or Hybrid rom, OR Branded phone flashed with Unbranded rom
So, in order to eliminate the occurrence of Reason 1., you must flash with "Erase EFS" option, if there after still coz you OTP Block or illegal use then it would be due to Reason 2, try to flash with a Branded rom if you find your KS20 is Branded, try flash with a Unbranded rom if you find your KS20 is Unbranded.
How to restore .nv2 manually coz LGMDP said "cannot find any .nv2 file"?
To restore .nv2 manually by LGMDP Read this (from post #104 to #118):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2531611#post2531611
Is there a way to flash Unbranded rom on Branded KS20?
Yes, but you need to do some modification to the rom, which we call the end up rom as "hybrid rom", it is very easy.
The details of that is explained in the following section
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flash Unbranded rom on Branded KS20, method is invented by dorik2k
The rom of KS20 is normally in .dz format, with "DZExtract-V0.2" or "KS20 Kitchen" you can extract .dz rom into 10x .mdn files + 1x FLASH.bin
In order to flash your KS20 you have to either flash a ".dz file" or flash "10x .mdn files + 1x FLASH.bin"
FLASH.bin is the WM system rom, which can be used with both Branded and Unbranded .nv2 file
10x .mdn files should be something like radio rom, which will do the .nv2 check after flashing
Hence, if you have a branded .nv2 file you hv to flash with 10x .mdn from branded rom or if you have an unbranded .nv2 file you hv to flash with 10x .mdn from unbranded rom
In order to flash Unbranded rom in Branded LG KS20, you need two roms: 1 Branded rom and 1 Unbranded rom:
1. Extract the two .dz roms, and flash the .mbn files from Branded rom and the FLASH.bin from Unbranded rom
2. And then unlock the phone with lg_.exe (Normally, unlocking is only need at the first time you flash to Unbranded rom)
For lg_.exe, the unlocking procedure pls refer to this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377127
"lg_.exe" Download link: http://rapidshare.com/files/99459711/ks20.rar
P.S. to use lg_.exe after flashing, you hv to do the settings in engineering menu and install WinDiag_Open.cab or import WinDiag.reg AGAIN
To extract .dz file, you have to use:
(i) DZExtract-V0.2 which will extract a .dz file into 10x .mdn files + 1x FLASH.bin, OR
(ii) LG KS20 Kitchen which has DZExtract-V0.2 built-in
That's
1x .dz file ==>> 10x .mdn files + 1x FLASH.bin (from Branded rom)
1x .dz file ==>> 10x .mdn files + 1x FLASH.bin (from Unbranded rom)
(i) DZExtract-V0.2 is developed by misterjp
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=399249
Download link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/3auo4k
To operate DZExtract-V0.2
1. Unzip the contents of DZExtract-V0.2.zip on c:\DZExtract
2. Put the .dz file in that you want to extract c:\DZExtract
3. Start -> run -> cmd.exe
4. cd c:\DZExtract
5. c:\DZExtract>DZExtract -x "filename".dz (type without " ")
Then you will have 10x .mbn files + 1x FLASH.bin in c:\DZExtract
(ii) Alternatively, you can use option [a] in "LG KS20 Kitchen" to extract .dz rom (Easier)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408280
To flash an Unbranded rom in a Branded KS20, you have to flash (1)+(2):
(1). All the 10x .mbn files (from Branded rom)
(2). FLASH.bin (from Unbranded rom)
Finally, Unlock your KS20 with lg_.exe
If your are still not clear with the steps, dorik2k has written a step by step guide in Post#3 below
Here is a WWE hybrid rom that made by me (for Branded phone only):

Support!!!

First I want to thank
- ChuckyIT for the roms
- raykisi for helping and supporting since the beginning
- peng8 for starting the route to the hybrid roms,
- misterjp for making DZExtract, which is mos probably the key to this method...
==============================================================
Step 0:
------------------------------------------
*** BACKUP YOUR NV2 FILE ***
If this is your first time flashing, don't do it before having your NV2 file at hand, otherwise you will have only a nice Windows Mobile device but not a phone...
First time flashers, be aware, flashing in emergency mode on first time, won't make automatic backup of nv2 file. In normal mode, LGMP will make an automatic backup of the file, so try this flashing in normal mode first, just to be sure.
Many people are complaining about the fact that they lost their IMEI number, and didn't make a backup of the NV2 file...
No one can help you guys, not until now...
And don't ask for somebody else NV2 file, it contains the IMEI number of the phone, which is unique for each one... Using same IMEI in two different phones could be illegal (or at least the phone company will notice and take action)...
Don't complain if anything goes wrong,,, do this at your own risk. You've been warned...
Step 1:
------------------------------------------
Basically this method consists of having 2 roms
1. branded rom (tested with french 10f)
2. english unbranded rom ChyckyIT
(see download links up at 1st post)
put them in 2 different folders......
Step 1a:
------------------------------------------
if your roms are in *.dz format (english rom is for sure), get the DZExtract tool (link up) and extract the roms in the different folders, then you should get 2 roms in mbn format, where each one of them consists of at least:
- many mbn files (10 probably), and some other files, take them as they are....
- 1 "flash.bin" file
To extract the dz files, the procedure is like this:
Put DZExtract.exe and zlib1.dll to each of the rom's folders, and for each of them type in the command prompt:
"C:\EN Rom\DZExtract.exe -x eng_rom.dz" ( without quotes, presuming you have your rom in folder "C:\EN Rom" and the dz file name is "eng_rom.dz")
Do this for the other rom too... for example:
"C:\FR Rom\DZExtract.exe -x french_rom.dz" (no quotes, presuming folder and file name obviously)
The dz rom, DZExtract.exe and zlib1.dll can be deleted in both directories after this step...
Step 2:
------------------------------------------
In the branded rom folder delete the "flash.bin" file (presuming "C:\FR Rom\flash.bin"), and replace it with the unbranded "flash.bin", the one you get from the english rom (presuming "C:\EN Rom\flash.bin")
for those really in need, type this in command prompt:
copy C:\EN Rom\flash.bin C:\FR Rom
After this you can delete the "C:\EN Rom" directory, or you can save it for backup... (but you won't need it in this process anymore)
Step 3:
------------------------------------------
Flash the branded folder files with LGMP_EURO, which obviously contains the unbranded english "flash.bin".
For flashing procedure see this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369481
If you are flashing in normal mode, LGMP should have make a backup of the NV2 file. Don't disconnect the phone until it finishes all the job. The program will restore it again after flashing finishes.
Step 4:
------------------------------------------
IF your phone was previously branded, you should restore the nv2 file (remember you made a backup, or the program made it automatically, and restoring will be made by the program itself after flashing finishes), and after that unlock the phone... (see unlocker file and procedures in "lg_.exe" above)
If your phone had an unbranded rom, you should be up and running already...
==============================================================
If everything goes right, you will have an unbranded english KS-20, perfectly working... enjoy it...
This method has not been tested with other roms, unbranded french for example... but if anyone does it, please post your results...
After flashing with unbranded rom, all other flashings on the phone with other unbranded roms will not require restoring nv2 file and unlocking. But please save your nv2 file somewhere...

For those stuck at the flashing process, if LGMP does not find your phone correctly, make sure you did all of these steps:
Installed LG USB Driver:
Download Link: http://rapidshare.com/files/99459712/LGCoronaUSBDriver.rar
At device:
- Enter this code to dialpad: 2676625720#
- Engeneering menu will show.
- Press:
Port Setting → 1. Diag Setting → 1. USB Set for Diag → “OK” → “Back”.
(Port Setting → 1. Diag Setting →) 2. USB Switching → “LG Composite -DUN, DIAG”.
- Press Done and reset your device.
If it still does not find the phone, take the file attached here and install it on the phone... after that restart, and LGMP should get the phone correctly

One important thing: No flash in emergency mode unless your KS20 is bricked.....because it will not backup / restore the .nv2 file!

Why don't you try,,, You have nothing to lose....
Also, if someone tries this method with different combination of roms please post your opinions...

Yes, with this 10a HK ROM (ALREADY SAID: newer than the 10f SFR!) PointUI and iGo8 finally works! Voip (skype, Fring and so on) doesn't work yet

Err... pointui and iGo8 already worked fine on 1.0f SFR here.
They still work fine on the unbranded French rom by the way. We now need a 1.0g in English or French.

there's no error....I've never said Pointui and iGo doesn't work on 10f SFR...I wrote ONLY that 10a HK, whose release date is 2008-29-4, is NEWER than 10f SFR...I know IgO and Pointui work whith 10f ROMs, but this is the first (hybrid) english unbranded rom with pointui and iGo working

I've tried in vain to download the LGMDP from the rapidshare link. Is it possible to upload it somewhere else, eg. 4share?

OK ?
Since I haven't tried 1.0f SFR Rom (and I won't try it) I can't say you what are the differences between this one and the HKG .bin files; I know PointUI and other applications using PocketHal now work...

Your definition of the word "newer" definitively don't help us.
But i have found the answer by myself.
HK 10a : 5.2.1630
FR 10f : 5.2.1626
HK 10a is newer that FR 10f.
Build date is most important that the LG release version.

Sure the definition doesn't help you... but it was the only meaning for me; otherwise I would used "improved" ROM, "upgraded" ROM... but I wasn't sure So, thank for your information about O.s. release

Now i'm trying to know which is the last microsoft wm6 revision.
The exact HK 1.0a revision number is 5.2.1630 (Build 18139.0.4.10).

Hi, I have set with ESA 10c, would like to flash it to HK English 10a or Traditional Chinese 10b, which one is newer? My phone hangs quite often, i hope by flashing it to a new version helps. Thanks!

I flash my ks20 with your custom rom and
all run perfectly, wifi, bt...
Perfect, thanks

HOWTO: Upgrade to other ROM without using NoID tool

(I am not responsible for any damage you might do to your device using this guide)
I tried flashing with the NoID tool several times, yet it always failed, or my Universal would not boot after the flash.
The regular T-Mobile update utility did work like a charm, and never failed on my. Thus I created a little tutorial on how to convert wrong ROMs to ROMs it will accept.
In this Example I will explain how to use an O2 XDA Exec ROM (and a different radio ROM) on a T-Mobile MDA Pro device
It's easiest to start with a clean directory to do all this as else it can get quite messy.
First, get the HTC64 Extended ROM Tool by Bal666 here:
http://buzzdev.net/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,100/func,fileinfo/id,196/
Next get an original ROM for your device, in my case I used the T-Mobile UK ROM as my device was english anyway.
For example, on the T-Mobile MDA Pro UK (or dutch) version, use "UNI_TMUK_11242_126_10002_Ship.exe" (find it yoursef)
Use WinRAR (http://www.rarlabs.com/) to unpack this file to a new directory called "Original", and unpack it again to a directory named "Converted".
The Original directory will be used to check things, and the Converted directory will be used to store all the roms that we have converted
Next we must find the ROMs we want to flash. I got "Xda_Exec_LaunchROM_v113139.exe" and Unpacked it in a directory named "O2", and "UNI_radio_1.08.00.rar" (from buzzdev.net) and unpacked it into "Radio Update".
First we must find out some things about our original ROMs. For each original ROM in the "Original" directory, follow the next steps:
- Open the HTC64 Extended ROM Tool
- Click Decode
- Open the ROM (.nbf file)
- Write down the values after "Operator Name" and "Language"
- Hit Cancel
Now we must modify the ROMs from the other distributions.
From the O2 directory we will use nk.nbf (OS) and ms_.nbf (Extended ROM), and from the Radio Update directory we will use radio_.nbf (Updated Radio ROM).
For each ROM you want to convert, follow the following steps:
- Open HTC64 Extended ROM Tool
- hit Decode
- Open the ROM
- In "Operator Name" and "Language" fill in what you wrote down earlier
- Hit Decode
- (on the begin screen) Hit Encode
- Open the .prj file you just created (same name as ROM, but with extensio .prj)
- Hit Encode
- if asked "Overwrite existing ROM", choose "Yes"
- if asked "Fat16 file is too large", choose "OK"
- When done, copy the over-written .nbf file from the directory you created it in (like O2 or Radio ROM) to the Converted directory. Choose to overwrite the existing file.
When all is done, run the ROMUpgradeUT.exe in the Converted directory, and follow the instructions.
If all goes well, you should have upgraded your ROM without having to CID-Unlock or use NoID tools that were originally made for another device
If before the actual upgrade your PC says it has found an unrecognized USB Device, close the RomUpgradeUT.exe with task manager (ctrl+alt+del), and reset your device (push the stylus in the hole at the backside). Then re-run the ROMUpgradeUT.exe
Credits go to iruja because he helped me find these tool
Let me know if it also worked on your device
EDIT: Stupid me, HTC64 Extended ROM Tool is by bal666
EDIT2: Note on "Unrecognized USB Device"
EDIT3: Added credits
Nice Job! Good, Clear and informative instructions.
he, leuke guide, die ken ik ergens van
Nice people like my way, this is the same way I test different roms for the wizard, without having to cid unlock the phone and loose warranty
Thank you "TheBlasphemer"
wow, I searched this forum for a few hours trying to understand how to install roms from other developers onto my Universal. It was driving me insane cause i kept on recieving country id errors. I found your post and was delighted to find how easy it really is to upgrade roms. Thank you for helping people like me who have no clue. Thanks, Thanks and More thanks. I also give shout outs to all others in this forum who take time to help others. XDA Developers is awesome! I'm surprised that developer sites dont link to xda developers for their customers. It would save them alot of time and money. Peace
Great Instructions
Many thanks for the great instructions.
I tried to flash my T-Mobile MDA Pro to the latest i-Mate rom and it became stuck in the Bootloader mode (I used the No-ID tool, and tried every type of reset). Fortunately this approach works, and I'm now the proud over of an much faster PDA.
Rom: 1.30.68 WWE 02/08/06
Radio: 1.09.00
Protocol: 42.42.P8
ExtRom: 1.30.153 WWE
The original T-Mobile Rom sucks compared to these i-Mate Roms
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42743
Excellent
Crystal clear instructions. worked like a charm once I found the Orange operator code is ORANG007. The "Orange" ROM on ftp appears to be a hash of 3 other versions as the operator names are QTEK001 and CDC__ something or other....
Thanks again for the excellent, no hassle upgrade method!
This procedure will be working on MDA Vario (QTek9100) ?
I have a QTEK 9000 that is in Spanish OS. There is no available downloadable shipping ROM so how do i get the values of Operator Name and Language? Are they in the registry=?
Tried this on my MDA pro NL which is stuck in boot screen, but no dice
I used however the init UK rom from T-mobile, not the NL which was my official one. I don't have a NL so I maybe if I use that one, it'll work, but Im afraid not
Viper, I also have a NL version and would like to upgrade my MDA...did you have any luck doing so or did you find the original dutch ROM?
(A stupid question: when I upgrade my rom, i assume that all my data is lost, right?)
Just wondering did you all upgrade your devices with the exe that came with the new ROM, or the one that comes from the phone vendor?
Kinda wondering should I use the one that comes with the QTek ROM, or should I use the one that came with the Dopod ROM (mine's a Dopod)
wow, how easy was that
the orange updater from the net (M5000_email.exe M5000) creates a temp directory called
\Local Settings\Temp\pft3CA.tmp\
run the orange updater program so it extracts the files, DONT CLOSE IT, leave it at the point where you make it update (don't hit next)
now follow the steps of the OP
simply decode your chosen rom, encode them with the correct info, then overwrite the roms in the temp directory with your required ones
then let the orange app install 'em for you!
took me 10 min to make my radio only to 1.09

hi guys
thank you for reply mail. all problem solved. now good working
thanks to Buzz
Thank you verry much i'm verry happy with the Qtek-ROM (radio of Dopod 900) instead of the T-mobile rom
And now I have MSN
Im going to upgrade my MDA PRO tonight using the instrutions in this thread, but which is the best ROM to update it to? i suppose i would like push mail and msn messenger/hotmail.
also is there a slightly more stable internet browser in the ROMS? my current IE is not very good, and opera has the habbit of coming up with a not enough storage memory in dll error!
XDA EXEC is dead
I received my xda exec two days ago. I've tried the ROM upgrade as described. ROMUpgradeUT went OK. When I cold boot my device I get two options - Press 0 to restore factory default Press X to exit. Neither have any effect and the exec seems to be dead. Can someone help out or suggest a fix please?
It's alive !!!
Managed to get the exec in boatloader mode, plugged in usb and reflashed it with an original O2 rom, which, thankfully revived it. I still would like to find out what went wrong with the original ROM upgrade and why it 'killed' the exec. I followed the instructions to the letter. My orignal pre-installed ROM was a 1.13.82 (11/30/05), Radio 1.04.02, XROM 1.13.188. I tried to upgrade to JASJAR ME 1.30.82 171 10900 WWE ship ROM, which effectively turned my exec into (I quote) 'a very expensive paperweight'. I now have got it working with an older O2 original ROM (ROM 1.13.48 (09/19/05), Radio 1.04.02, XROM 1.13.139). When I tried to flash I overwrote the 'original' (ROM 1.13.48 (09/19/05), Radio 1.04.02, XROM 1.13.139) with the modified ROM, RADIO and XROM files from the JASJAR version, I didn't replace any dll files. Could this be the problem or am I way off target? Can anyone spot were I messed up here. Tonight I will try with another JASJAR upgrade, now that I know I can safely reflash with an oringal O2 ROM.
anyone know where i can get ROMUpgradeUT.exe tool from?

How to change Device Language of Universal

Hi Folks,
that is what I have: a MDA Pro from German T-Mobile with latest T-Mobile SW
that is what I want: just to get the MSFP on my device
that is what I did:
- removed the SimLock with the LokiWiz Tool
- upgraded the ROM with the bootloader method (as all the other things were not working) with Universal_Upgrade_v1.30.68_radio_1.09.0.zip
Now that is the english version (on a qwertz keyboard). Neither the latest Qtek 9000 ROM nor the Xda_exec_Upgrade_1.30.162.exe is installable. I tried to trick them out: during the installation the nk.nbf file is extracted. I just copied this file to an alternate location and later I tried to install this with the bootloader method. But the tool does not even recognize the ROM (although it is located in the appropriate folder).
I would be glad if anybody has a hint for me.
thanks tschaj
:?: Could you explain how did you remove SIMlock from Universal? :?:
here's the tool (you have to register)
http://buzzdev.net/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,109/func,select/id,29/
and here the description:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33796&highlight=lokiwiz
ehh
that is the unlocktool for the wizzard lol. not for they universal.. you cant unlock the universal yet cheaply haahah
... mmmhhh: unfortunately dvl is right, the SIM is still locked.
But as mentioned initially my aim was to use the MSFP (and if possible the latest Qtek 9000 Software).
tschaj

Finally its there

ETEN Glofiish M800: Os Image is NOT compatible with hardware

I'm trying to flash my M800 bought in Italy with Country Code ITA (on booting screen is VER A42 ITA 040 0264 - 2008/01/15 15:59) with a new ROM from ETEN-Users forum with WM 6.1 cooked for M800. The new ROM is WWE edition. When I try to flash it (in bootloader mode or in soft bootloader mode) according to the procedure, I receive the error "OS Image is NOT compatible wit" (and I think "...with your hardware" as seen on other threads).
********************
USB Downloader 0024

Find SDMMC Card.
File= TEMP BIN
Program Image from SDMMC
update OS Image
Please Waiting.
OS Image is NOT compatible wit
USB host is not connected yet.

And it stops until soft reset. How I can workaround the CID check (Country ID unlock)? When I succeded on Himalaya a lot of years ago, I edited in HEX the ROM file... can u tell me how to edit and where, to let my WWE OS Image could be accepted by my ITA M800? Or can I use a different bootlader that wouldn't do the Country ID check?
thank's

http://www.sendspace.com/file/9it37b

SOFT RESET..FINISH~
Great Job!!!
I am a HK user, and i have searched this great job for 6 months, but I still cannot find any posts except this post that teach traditional chinese's user to flash UC rom and make it to read and type traditional chinese.
Thank you very much, however, i will try this method for my KS20 after spocky12 release the new rom soon.
p.s. Thank you for spocky12
Great job bun_0806 !
I've updated first post of KisS20 thread to add a link here.
Thanks
I remember to have installed Ce-star after flashing spocky's rom. But after many bugs I simply removed Ce-star. Then I preferred installing a single font with respective registry modifications. By the way I'll try your method to see if it will give any different result. Thank you
Lemark
may you upload some detail for me?
i want to try your method

You can put your font in the windows directory of your phone and then modify the registry values. I have msyh.ttf (font name YaHei) for example, so I need to modify the registry values under
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink]
as
"YaHei"="\\Windows\\tahoma.ttf,Tahoma"
"Tahoma"="\\Windows\\msyh.ttf,Yahei"
"Courier New"="\\Windows\\msyh.ttf,YaHei"
"Arial"="\\Windows\\msyh.ttf,YaHei"
"Times New Roman"="\\Windows\\msyh.ttf,YaHei"
Main disadvantage of this method is that non-unicode Chinese characters become gibberish. Also China will still be unavailable in the regional settings.
Your method is superior to mine as it can truly enable Chinese support
The cab file in following link will install a font and modifies the respective registries. You can install it on top of Spocky's rom. It was made by someone named samau, so all credits should go to him.

support and display T.Chinese
hi all~
there is a useful site included how to make eng wm to support T.Chinese and change the interface to T.Chinese that i found.
http://www.studiokuma.com/wm/?section=support
i tested on my ks20 with KisS20.4 Rom already.
it can be read and write/type chinese perfectly, write chinese meaning it support handwriting input But, the problem is cannot use PlumSIP6 after that. Can anyone solve it??
finally, i havn't test the chinese interface, if anyone interest, go try and report.
Here, I hope someone can develop a perfect T.chinese version rom for HK ppl, the original rom in HK was very very weak...
Thankyou!
**Remark** install Enable_No_Policy.cab first before you do anything is a must.

HAY GUY...the file i uploaded is the full version of MSJH.TTF
the file you find in KUMA is good but not function on kiss 20
because it will reload the wince back to your ppc
it will lead many many problems there
for example...you have to reset your ks20 successful more than 10 times
hi bun,
thanks a lots, your method can run chinese smoothly, but I get some problem when I use, detail as below:
after upgrade WM6.1 KisS20.4 Rom, this rom is fastest and stable one that I try in my KS20, after upgrade all sim card cannot work. I use this phone in Hong Kong and had tried 3 Hong Kong (3G), PCCW (3G), People and China mobile sim card also. All have same problem - cannot register the network.
I also copy the xml from HK10a rom of HK telecom provider in /windows/networkprofile, can select my telecom provider name but also the same.
After I flash back HK 10a.rom (http://rapidshare.com/files/12754205...2008_.rar.html), now the phone still the same cannot register any network, but can search its own network.
I use LGMDP_EURO to flash the rom in emergency mode with unbranded rom (since I heard all HK LG ks20 is unbranded) KisS20.4Rom
Now even I flash other rom still get the same problem.
please help, thanks
