rom's changes - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Is there anyway to install new rom's and keep the programs in use. Any backup can be made to put the installed programs working again? And what can do with the programs and licenses that don't work after new rom is installed. Any thing to do?

There is a search button, it is your friend. i believe this question has been asked at least ten times in the diamond upgrade thread alone.

Upgrading rom is necessary re-install all programs again?

As told in object, when i'm upgrading the Tytn rom (the same family rom) how can i install all the programs by backup file?
Or have i to install them from the beginning?
The hard and fast answer is imagine reinstalling windows on your pc... Would you have to reinstall all the programs? So, the answer is yes. However, you can try Settings Savior, a program created by a member of this forum that will automatically reinstall programs for you as well as resets your settings... check out the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308100&highlight=settings+saviour to see what I'm talking about.
YES, if you will have to. Best is to back up your data. Save you some effort

But, if i make a backup file of programs installed and i'm upgrading my tytn from a rom version to another rom version of the same kind (Schap's 3.57a to 3.57b, for example) when i'll upload the backup file are there difference on register key of windows system.
I'm asking for knowing if the programs can running without problems about difference of register key from old rom version to new.
no.
you must reinstall as the registry keys needed will not be there.
use settingsaviour as the first reply said and it makes it very quick though.

Personally I use Titanium backup from the market. It will restore your apps and data for you.
Using rom manager to create a backup won't really work for you, because if you flash a new rom then use rom manager to restore, you are actually restoring your old rom too!
So if i use Titianium back up ( which I have already installed ), after I flash a new ROM, where was all my data backed upto ? The SD card ? and do I just re-install Titianium back up and re-load my data from there. My contacts are synced through G-mail which is easy. I have appbrain installed, soi thats fairly quick, its just all the other bits and pieces, like the Scenes, ring tones, etc.
I would like to try another ROM, but dont really have a spare half hour to reload it all every time.

Problems with the upgration to new version of custom roms

Hello everyone and developers of custom roms, it has no doubt that you had done the great job, But i have one question every time you are coming up with the new version of your custom roms. But like for instance i have installed your 2.0 custom rom in my dhd and than the new update has came out, so with the previous one i am so comfortable i have set all my settings my shortcuts, widgets home screen etc, now if i have to update my custom rom with your new one so i have to do all wipe out this thing is miserable as i will loss everything I have set in the previous rom so is there any method to preserve those settings and as I upgraded to the new version my phone appearance will remains the same,
thanks please reply, I am dyeing to install gingerbread version of your rom but want to clear this misery first.
use the easy upgrade tool.

First of all, this is the wrong thread to asking questing. better ask at Q&A section.
Secondly, if you want to update the custom rom version, normally no need to full wipe except :
1. The rom maker state to do full wipe for every update
2. You having something unusual
Just do full wipe only if you change from other custom rom to another one.
btw, don't forget to use Titanium Backup. you can restore all your apps with data if you do full wipe.
Moved to Q&A section
sorry hedayat, i have tried posting in Q/A section but there was some server problem, although thanks for your reply and thanks to everyone,
one more thing what if i want to install new custom roms yet i want my home screen and other things like dictionary of smart keyboard and widgets will remains same in my DHD.
Do things like a titanium backup for apps and data and backups within the apps them selves
When you install it's better to get everything from the market, but you can use titanium backup to reinstall everything
Then just restore data for all your apps
It's a little fiddley sometimes and you will have to redo things like widgets and possibly homescreens, but all your data will be there if you do it right
And just in case, of course do a nandroid backup
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
When you go from Froyo to Gingerbread you really must do full wipe, do not use easy upgrade tool. That means losing apps and settings, but it is ok to backup them like Joey explained.

Q: integrating updates into rom? acer a100, stock ics, only root.

hello to all.
i'm new user of acer tablet. have some expirience with other android devices, so i'm not a total noob.
my problem is this. till today, on my other android devices i used to integrate updated applications into rom with titanium backup. primary for saving space.
now i tryed to do same thing with acer a100. but no success.
first i rooted it. try it and process start, even do some work, but on next reboot, i got message to update apps from google play. all those which are integrated. obviously, they aren't.
then i tryed to unlock bootloader, altough, see no connection with those two things, and of course, no luck. same thing.
for examlpe, on my mobile phone, all process of integrating is finished in 1-2 minutes, depending on new system apps. but here, google+, for instance, it takes almost half of hour. and, even it takes so much time, it is not integrated.
so, my question is - is there any way to do that integrating? via TB or some other way? room toolbox doens't have that function, AFAIK.
is it possible to make update.zip file from that new, updated applications and do a update from recovery console? tb has that function, but i never used it, and it says it is "unsigned". so, how to sign it and/or make working update.zip.
thanks in advance!
regards!
OK, seems that there is no help. in mean time i founded that problem could be (is) in locked NAND. new question - how to unlock nand???

[Q] Unable to retrieve applications

Hello, I apologize in advance for my writing, but I am French, I do my best not to make too many mistakes
So my problem appeared for the first time today when I wanted to change ROM, I was under ParanoidAndroid, I wanted to go under UKG (UltimatumKang), I wanted to start on something clean, so j 'I utlise Nexus Root Toolkit to do a clean install and replace the stock version before UKG. Once installed UKG, could not get my applications that automatically download normally, they are all on the waiting list, the first is in progress, but it does not move, it's like an infinite loop. When I stop the recovery and I'm trying to download only one application, it works.
Strangely it also do it for the updates, I can not update multiple applications at once, but only one by one.
I'm annoyed because I do not really want to download my apps one by one.
So, someone have an idea ?
EDIT : Now, I've the same problem on stock version of Jelly Bean.
I had this happen once a year or so ago. What had happened was, as I understand it, the Play Store only allows a certain amount of auto-downloads at a certain time. I flashed a ROM, it restored, flashed a different ROM, all downloads stopped. I don't think anybody knows exactly how many, but lets say 50 for example.. After downloading the 50 apps you are allowed to download within the allotted time, you are cut off. The Play Store will allow you to download apps again in 24 hours, you will have to wait it out.
The last time I've use the restoration was two weeks ago, but I'll wait to see.
Thanks a lot for your help ! I appreciate a lot
EDIT : It seems that it's Google Talk/Hangouts who complicate the thing. I'll see it tomorrow.
