This is just a suggestion. I think its good to put a sticky thread on "how to for newbies".
This thread will explain step by step on how to do things.
And what i mean is how to flash a rom, how to hard reset the device, what is RUU rom, what is cooked roms, 1st you have to hard spl your device and the steps are ...., then flash the rom you like ....How to rollback to the original rom..............
I think you got the idea. So in order to stop all those questions and to have a SUMARIZED how to do things thread imo someone who knows all these things should make such a thread.
Thanks in advance

Have u ever click on XDAWiki? If not yet, I suggest you try
Ofcource i clicked on Wiki but there you can have some basic info but not a whole procedure on how to upgrade or downgrade u r diamond or what is RUU or ...... Yes it has the info for hard reset or entering the bootloader but again it isnt a summarized thread on how to do things as i said.
Well anyway its just a suggestion.
Thanks
if you want all the definitions of RUU, hard-spl, etc.. then you really need to search the forums and read the wiki properly..
if you want step-by-step upgrade instructions, you can find it now at www.modmydiamond.info
It's a Wiki, why dont you create the pages that you're talking about?

I need to downgrade my rom for warrany purposes (the OK key is stuck) But when I load up my Original ROM when my unt goes to the bootloader tingy, it disconnects from activesync and just well.. does noting.
Please help, anyone?
Thnaks
Execute SSPL and then run the RUU.
EDIT: Note that Hard-SPL (which I assume you have installed) will not protect you from failure because the original ROM has its own bootloader that it will put on your device, which is a good thing in terms of warranty, but a bad thing in terms of a power outage.
Original rom
Did you manage to do it and revert back/
look at this guide http://www.mrvanx.org/hermes_guide/
Yep, the guide will help you through doing this. It takes a slightly more time consuming approach but you are almost guaranteed not to permenantly brick your device doing it this way, as the last thing to be flashed is the radio, then the SPL.
Ive read the guide when i wanted to upgrade and its very helpful. Did'nt notice there was a segment on downgrading which i believe will be helpful as well. Thanks for your patience and answering, you guys are kind, for pointing me in that direction.
HArd SPL? Uh, no I didn't install that.. should I?

@ Deadman
I would suggest you start reading here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293651
Then go to the wiki:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes
and do a lot more reading before you really do something even more seriously seriously nasty to your phone.
You should have installed Olipro's Hard-SPL before any kind of rom upgrades.
There is also a complete guide on the wiki to unbricking your phone.
Got it, thanks.
Thanks

I would like to thank those who helped me. I downgraded it using SSPL then RUU. Thanks
I've read a whole bunch and can't figure this out:
If I use HardSPL, do I need to do anything else before flashing the ROM?
There are the posts by vippie and Dr Puttingham that show how to do it that way, but neither say anything about HardSPL.
So is HardSPL something new that means you don't have to go through the CID unlocking as explained in the above guides? You just flash HardSPL then the ROM? Or do you have to follow the guides as above and then flash the ROM? Or do you have to do the above AND use HardSPL?
I have a G3 jasjam/htc tytn that has never been moddified/flashed.
Thanks heaps in advance!
Hi, im new to upgrading on hermes but not wizard, switched from wizard to hermes.
i could read all tutoria;;s and stuff but..just dnt want to...yet.
so, need to know some basic things like..
its gonna be an untouched phone, (windows mobile 5, cid&sim locked)
do i need to CID Unlock my phone? (probably yes)
do i need to find a stable Radio version...like the wizard?
if i do, can u recommend one?
and what else do i need to know?
thanks.
i think u just take some times to search in this forum the way to flashing your rom. (sorry, bad english..)
you dont have to read all the tutorials..
you just need to read the wiki...
as for not reading and just asking its abit lazy and frowned upon but:
you need to sim/cid unlock,
hardspl
flashing radio can be very dangerous on the hermes so read the wiki..
i recommend 1.47.30.10
all information can be found on the board or wiki so get reading before posting in future its alot easier.
I would stick with the orginal radio came with the phone. It usually dont make much difference to me where i live! Also I recommend flashing radio if you have to using SD card method.
Always read wiki, and good luck flashing!

What the man said, excelent advice. Use POF unlocker to sim unlock your phone and also make it SuperCID, that way you can use the MicroSD card method with any ROM (NBH).
Hello. I have a question: i installed hard spl 1.24 in order to flash another radio rom and now i would like to update the main rom to the official 1,93 version. Under these circumstances is it safe or am i going to brick my phone? Just asking.. Thank you!

First of all, opening a thread is not the right thing to do for asking advice. about hard spl that means that you can flash whatever you want how many times you want without any restrictions you will not brick your phone if you do everything properly. by saying flashing everything you want I mean flashing everything from the DIAMOND FORUM. Please do not try to flash anything made for other devices. And next time ask the questions in its right place on this case you should have asked on the HARD SPL thread. Happy Flashing!
Is it possible to undo the HSPL unlocking? I dont want to be stuck if I need to turn my phone in for warranty purposes.
how to reflash Stock/Shipped SPL - STEP BY STEP - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!
0. please make sure you already flashed stock ROM and radio, because stock SPL flash is *always* the last step before sending the device in.
1. download the Relocker attachment, extract the zip and run the EXE on your PC
2. if you wish to replace RUU_Signed.NBH that got extracted, feel free to do so, but not necessary (this Hard-SPL will only allow overwrite with a SPL signed by our custom cert). the included one is the 0.79.0000 stock SPL. you also have the option for 0.84.0000 and 0.87.0000, see the attachments.
3. flash
4. verify if it flashed by checking version in tricolour screen, it should say 0.79.0000 (or 0.84.0000 or 0.87.0000), not 0.85.OliNex.
RELOCKER
Stock Spl Restore 84
Stock Spl Restore 87
Thanks very much.
Not to be a jerk but you might want to get in the habit of reading the entire first page of the HardSPL thread, and any thread that involves modifying your phone. You're setting yourself up for a nice expensive brick in not doing so.
Just make sure you flash your stock ROM/radio first then just run the stockSPL exe and you're set. Just relocked mine to turn it in for a hopeful replacement.

I'm already aware of all of the dangers of modifying. I've been doing it for a while and was just curious where to go if I wanted/needed to go back to the original factory state.

Understood, it's just that the answer to your question is in the first and second post of the HardSPL thread. Per OliNex's instructions in said thread:
firstly:
- read the instructions above.
- read the instructions above.
